Rate this book
If you want to put more energy into taking care of your wellness and mental health, but you feel intimidated by the sheer amount of options available to you then this book is for you.

For the last three years, Self Care Club podcast creators Lauren Mishcon and Nicole Goodman have tested out a form of self-care every week, and reported the results to their listeners. In a world full of wellness warriors, potions and lotions, health fads and bubble baths, all promising to make you feel better, Lauren and Nicole use their experiences to debunk the wellness world and bring true, authentic self-care centre stage. They know what works, what doesn't and what is worth your time and energy.

Have You Tried This? is packed with effective practices that cost nothing and take very little time. Every practice included has been tried and tested by Lauren and Nicole (with varying results!). Their unlikely friendship offering two very unique perspectives on the same activity!

They want to empower you to take care of yourself and give you the tools to go for it.

This book feels like getting advice from your funny, wellness-curious friends—some of it you’ll love, some of it you’ll politely nod at and ignore. It's a breezy and fun book, and the personal stories make even the weirder self-care experiments approachable. Not every tip is groundbreaking, but there’s enough charm to make flipping through it a little treat. A good pick for going in and out when you need a little boost.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC!

I haven’t listened to the podcast - I am more of a reader - so I came to this anew. I love the dynamic between the two and I enjoyed there anecdotes and interactions. The suggestions are not rocket science. But that’s the thing about wellness. It doesn’t have to be the million pounds industry it has become. Reading this book made me smile outwardly and inwardly which I take as a win. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

Written in a really lovely conversational tone that I can see many would find enjoyable, myself included. But this book is far from being "the only...book you will ever need". It's light on, well, just about everything: techniques, practices, activities, insight, research. It was entertaining, sure. But lacking in depth.
