MINISERIES PREMIERE
When Jonathan Reason falls asleep, he becomes...something else. Every night, it stalks his quiet town, killing (seemingly) indiscriminately. When he wakes, covered in blood, our story begins. This new horror mystery from ZANDER CANNON (Heck, Top 10, Kaijumax) shows us the horrifying waking hours of an unwilling part-time killer.

Very weird first issue! I like it so far. Definitely a mystery book that's giving us a lot of puzzle clues. With not a lot to put together right now. Though there are two main directions we're being steered in. Two main characters that, I assume, will be the key to everything. Anyway this book takes place in a small town. Our main character wakes up from a deep deep slumber. Only to find out a wild animal killed a bunch of cows right by his house. Throughout the day he sees an old friend who is back in town. We're introduced to a good amount of characters. Different townsfolk come and go. So there's a lot to go on. I'm excited to crack the mystery of what's really happening in town and to those animals. And maybe even to more in the future. Great first issue. Can't wait for more!

Jonathan is a normal dude by day. Working and hanging out with friends. At night he turns into a werewolf or something similar and rages around town. At least that's what the clues tell us.

What we get in this issue is the "dude by day" part, with introductions to the town, some of it's inhabitants and some of Jonathan's friends. It's an alright issue, and I'm sure there's more going on than meets the eye here, or else I don't understand why it's presented as a mystery (we already know who-dunnit). I enjoy the art. It's simple but inviting. Good angles and scenes.
Nothing really happens here though. The interactions aren't very interesting and I'm not terribly motivated to continue reading

I picked this up basically purely based on the very open one-word title, not knowing anything about the contrnt or creator beforehand. But here is a first issue that makes me really excited to see where the series is gonna go.
It seems rare that a first issue actually gives the characters the space to breathe and interact past obligatory exposition bits. The dialog-heavy pacing give the comic a nice somber atmosphere and grounds the small-town setting well. There is already lots of opportunity for growing intrigue between the introduced characters.
The art style is also very good and I'm curious what the design choice of greyscale drawings with ocassional red details is gonna lead up to.

I’m biased. But Zander Canon is a singular talent. As soon as I became aware of this work, it became a must read for me. To those I’ve seen saying that it was boring or whatever it’s because the whole story starts with a slow burn, but you gotta stick with it. Enjoy and observe all the clues that he’s laying out, foreshadowing, breadcrumbs for the future. I could be wrong, but I’m here for it. Let’s see what you got in store for us, Zander.

A bit boring.

Not my cup of tea. Just people sitting around and talking. Mix in some weird stuff, then people talk, talk, and talk some more. I appreciate the originality and give points for that but I was not impressed with this book. I could be wrong. Who knows. I will give it one more chance once #2 comes out.

I enjoyed this books far. I will say the storyline is a little confusing and all over the place. But I love the cartoon style and the storyline that I have got is good.
