It seems Irkutsk Oblast is getting a little too crowded for our hero. Yes, he has found his home here, for now deprived of caring feminine hands. Yes, nearby is the Epicenter, a perfect training ground.
But the trouble is, the young baron has begun to draw attention from the powers that be, who plan to use Galaxius and his capabilities for their own – not always humane, – ends...
As our refined aristocrat of a hero would “Screw it, good luck to ‘em!”
The two authors really bring a fresh wind into the genre with their series! I love how stream-lined their books are. I always crave for more!
While i am generally very critical against over powered and cheeky characters the authors somehow managed to make the protagonist believable and likeable and to keep the reader immersed and well entertained.
The ongoing side plots of Yekzterina, Anna, Helga and the cursed art are absolutely hilarious. The same goes for the diverse subversive and artistic acts of Shnoop who, for me, is the real
All in all i thoroughly enjoyed the book and count the days until the nextbook is released!
What a let down this series has become. It's always has a ton a issues, but I could easily overlook them because of how enjoyable the core of it was. Originally it distinguished itself from a million other books that are pretty much all the same. The distinguishing feature was the MC. He was intelligent, brash, masculine and ruthless. Due to his gift he had a raging sexual appetite and a free spirit. For whatever reason the author has completely neutered him. He got a girlfriend and become a complete simp. He's become abstinent, with no explanation as to why his raging appetite from his gift is just gone. He's become whipped and disrespected. Even his personal guard made fun of him, asking if he asked his girlfriend for permission to spend some money. He has become a complete loser, even sparing enemies that tried to kill him. He is now the same as every other MC from every other book of the genre. How disgusting.
There are plenty of unsavory things in the previous books but if you don't look too closely.. This one left me with an awful aftertaste though. And it's all so uncalled for!
I am of two minds of this series. Like its other Russian counterparts, the hero (in this case, the Hunter) is overpowered and underestimated with old-fashioned ideas about masculinity and gender roles and follows perfectly the myth of redemptive violence. The plots are often repetitive: kill the bad guys, steal their stuff, be daring and bold. Still, I have to admit that I look forward to reading them much like the latest installment of a comic-book series of my youth. Perhaps that is explanation enough.
I received a review copy of this book. Hunter's code book 6 is the latest in this series, and it's of course, just as good as the others. If you've liked other books in the series, then you'll like this one too. If you haven't read any books in this series, butyou're a LitRPG fan, then don't wait any longer, go get yourself a copy. It's well worth the read.
General review: I am enjoying the series. Interesting to see him mature a bit while still not taking life seriously. Major help from friends helping keep him from going off the wall. His pets are still fantastic features bringing flare to the story. Sidenote spoiler-ish: I like the cover art, even when it shows an event happening out of context or like this book a small mater that was completed within the first chapter.

Here we go…. Alex continues to overcome his enemies. And Monsters. You know I’ve never mentioned all of his “pets”. They are wonderful! They add so much to the story. His main “pet” is Shnoop, a Snark. His quote:
Shnoop said: “no spacshe to burrry them, have to have warr on theirr terrritorry!”
Book 6, the series continues to suck you in. Full of action. With a good sprinkling of humour( my sense of humour). Just wish books 7+8 were available now.
I truly enjoy this series and hope there are many more installments. There are a great many storylines that can be fleshed out and I’m looking forward to see what the authors share next!
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
Another amazing book in the series. So many obstacles are thrown into Alex's path, that it is amazing he is keeping his head above water! Loving the characters (friends and potentially future wives).
The series continues to have a lot of action and interesting happenings. I find I am still entertained and find humor in the story. There is a lot of drama that happens for the MC and that could get tiresome but it just builds to his character in the nonchalant way he handles things. Overall, the series is worth reading.
is a series that I get an ARC of. I check the translation from Russian to English. This is one of the stories that once I finish, I'm looking forward to getting the next ARC in the series. It's just a fun read for me.
8/10 The reviews of the rest of this series will show the same review. I'm trying to help out authors by putting up reviews for the ARCs that have been sent to me.
