Adri Foster Cozy Mystery #1
Body in the Bushes: Adri Foster Cozy Mystery-Book 1
The last thing Adri Foster expected her sister to find while digging for antique glass was a body in the bushes.
With just one year of teaching left before retirement, Adri had hoped to savor the final weeks of summer and the small town of Seven Springs’ Sesquicentennial Celebration.
Instead, her mosaic artist sister discovered a dead body —and her sister’s fingerprints were on the murder weapon.
With the help of the Saturday Spinners’ gossip, and Snooper, her sharp-eyed Border Collie , Adri tackles the case.
The victim, a known poacher, had no shortage of enemies, including an untrustworthy accomplice and a grumpy neighbor with a grudge.
Despite the help of her friends and Snooper’s keen nose, Adri’s investigation spins in circles.
To make matters worse, Adri’s sister had a history with the victim. When her sister becomes a prime suspect, the stakes rise.
With time running out, Adri needs all her connections, wit, and instincts to uncover the truth and prevent her sister’s arrest for murder.

This was a solid debut and one of the best cozy debuts I’ve read in a while. It’s the first in a series about Adri Foster a teacher, sister, daughter and she’s on summer break when a murder occurs. This is my first book by this author and I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion. Adri’s sister is collecting glass when she comes across a body, later disclosed to be that of her former lover. She becomes the main suspect and Adri is determined to clear her. The victim, Tied Bloom is not a nice person and there’s a plethora of other suspects, from fellow poachers, others he may have had affairs with, husbands etc. The book delves into issues of poaching, infidelity, caring for an aging parent, and there are so many red herrings you’re never quite sure who the killer is. The characters are not one dimensional, which is great and I would love to see how they grow in future books. A great read for cozy mystery lovers.

Wonderful series debut for the sleuth Adri Foster . The story is Body in the Bushes and exceptionally written by Etta True. A year from retirement she dons a mystery solving hat thanks to her sister who found a body in the bushes splat. Not only that but she managed to get her fingerprints all over the murder weapon , what do we think of that? Snoopy her border collie is a great addition and of course is adept at finding clues as a mission. But what trouble you can get yourself into digging for mosaic glass ? That’s what Adri should ask. It’s summer so of course it’s her time to relax ,because as a teacher it’s time to replenish her body ready for the new term ahead. Little did she know her sister would find somebody dead! Looking forward to the Seven Springs Sesquicentennial Celebrations as she is but now this? Can she ever catch a break but sleuth she must do for her sister’s sake. At least there’s the Saturday Spinner’s Gossip crew to help out so that’s great. So to prevent her sister’s arrest they must do what they do best, solve the case post haste. It’s not looking at all easy as the deceased victim had many enemies as well as a small fact that does not help ,her sister had history with the poacher …Yelp! Now we can see she definitely needs help to get out if this stew she’s got herself in and to prove that she did not do them in. So with both skill and wit they quickly got down to investigating it. A very well written story that gives Snoopy a bone for doing good and sets the tone as a perfect series as I knew it would. A starter filled with not just art but heart too ,is there nothing Etta True can’t do. Great characters with their own traits ,quickly become mates to hang out with a while. I look forward to more as them I adore. I love my characters me especially those in a small town mystery. And that makes me smile.

Body in the Bushes is the first book in Etta True’s new series, Adri Foster Cozy Mystery. The story kicks off with a shocking discovery when a body is found hidden among the bushes. Adri’s sister, Tina, stumbles upon the corpse and reaches out to her for assistance.
As the investigation unfolds, Tina becomes the primary suspect in the case. With the aid of the Saturday Spinners, and her astute Border Collie, Snooper, Adri embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. However, as she delves deeper into the investigation, she finds herself increasingly perplexed by the complexities of the case, which reveals numerous secrets surrounding the deceased, Ted Bloom.
One significant detail Adri uncovers about Mr. Bloom is that he had a number of individuals who may have wished for his death. Given his profession, it’s well-known that he wasn’t particularly liked by many.
Body in the Bushes kept me on my toes from the very first page to the final one, filled with unexpected twists and turns that made it hard to put down.
I enjoyed getting to know all the characters—Adri, Snooper, and the Spinner ladies. I eagerly anticipate the next installment in the Adri Foster Cozy Mystery series and am curious to discover what lies ahead for these intriguing characters.
I highly recommend Body in the Bushes to fans of cozy mysteries! Be sure to grab a copy today!

A Wild Cosy Mystery 4.5 stars
True writes an entertaining story with a likeable main character in Adri. Her supportive cast of dog, cat and friends add to the story and the reader is drawn in the scenes eating at the cafe or sitting across from a stoic policeman. The plot was nicely thought out and hits close to home and an elderly mother in a care facility makes the story seem more real and a little bittersweet.
I liked the story. Adrian was a bit insensitive with her questioning but with that aside, she did not go wild chasing after clues or impulsively make brash accusations. She respects authority yet pushes her concerns. I easily recommend this for any teen or adult. Clean, sensible cozies are a wonderful escape but it's really refreshing when the main characters aren't impulsive or caught up with physical attraction every time they meet. The reason I took a half star off is because the book isn't staying on my kindle. Read. Enjoy!

An excellent start to a new series. A cozy mystery in Maine.
The storyline was intriguing, and it kept my interest. Adri and Snooper are a great team, Snooper being a Border Collie, they help to find out how a member of their community becomes a murder victim. Of course, Adri has to help since her sister found the dead body.
Will Adri find out who killed the member of the community to save her sister? Or will Tina get arrested for murder? Find out by reading the book.
It was nice to read about Maine and knowing where some of the characters were during the storyline. I lived in Maine until I was 34 years old so to read about the places brought some good memories back. Especially the lookout just passed the Medway exit to look at Mt Katahdin and all her glory.
Highly recommend if you like cozy mysteries.

Who Killed Ted Bloom ? . . .
Adri Foster’s mosaic artist sister Tina is digging for antique glass pieces she can use in her project when she discovers a dead body in the bushes with dark blood oozing beneath him! Adri is quite clever at figuring things out and, when Tina is looking like a potential suspect, having known the dead man who was Jane’s husband, Ted Bloom, Adri and her dog Snooper start investigating to keep Tina out of jail. Chief Bostwick had even confiscated Tina’s glass piece, which she needed for her project, as evidence. The investigation isn’t easy when the victim is not well liked and has secrets to be discovered. Will Adri be able to find the killer? Or will Tina be arrested for the murder?

The first book in a very promising series! The main character, Adrienne Foster's sister Tina is a mosaic artist and while looking for antique glass for her project, she stumbles upon the murdered body of Ted Bloom in the bushes. According to Chief Bostwick, Tina becomes suspect number one and Adri along with her incredibly astute Border Collie, Snooper and with the of the Spinner ladies, Adri has a tough job. With the victim hated by many, there are quite a few suspects but things have to be tied together making an investigation difficult being there are so many twists and turns. But Adri has to keep her sister out of jail. Can she put it all together? I highly recommend this first book and can't wait to read more. I received an ARC but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

I give this 4 1/2 Stars!!
I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a cozy mystery book. The main character’s are Adri and her dog Snooper. Adri is a music teacher and is considering retiring. Before school starts back her sister Tina comes across a dead man. Unfortunately, Tina has history with the man and evidence is piling up against her. Can Adri and Snooper find evidence to prove Tina is innocent? Can they prove her innocence before it is too late? I will say there we so many suspects throughout the book that I wasn’t sure who was behind it. This book had a great ending. This book did have mentions of another book that came before this one so I will be reading that one. This can be read as a standalone though. I can’t wait for the next book.

😬This was an entertaining story. It was a page turner and the suspense was so intense. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down literally.Adrienne Foster was faced with dealing with her sister Tina who was suspected of Tim murder. On the Miller property will the truth come out who really killed Tim in that moment. Will the real culprit be caught in time before it is too late.
I definitely recommend this book and you won’t regret reading or be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones

A Body in the Bush, written by Etta True. This book is awesome. It has murder, mystery, and corruption, and entertainment. There a cafe called Corner Cafe a favourite hangout for the town’s people. Adri was unofficially helping out the Sheriff solving a murder. This book was well written and had you from start to finish. F you want to know who was murdered and how did it, it is a great book and you won’t be disappointed. Yes I have the book and thoroughly enjoyed the book.

When Adri's sister Tina is implicated in a murder she has to dig deeper.

Body In The Bushes is book #1 in the Adri Foster Cozy Mystery series by Etta True.
This is a nice start to the new series. I thought the pacing was good. The characters were well-developed for the first book. The victim not well liked so so there we other suspects than Adri’s sister. There was a lot going on in this book with plenty of twists to keep me guessing until the end.

Adrienne Foster was not thrilled when her sister Tina becomes the main suspect in the murder of Ted Bloom whose body had been found at the old Miller property. There is more than meets the eye with secrets, corruption. An intriguing read. I received this ARC copy and recommend this book to other readers .

Engaging mystery
⭐️⭐️⭐️🙄🙄
Family style mystery revolving around murder, poaching, and coverups. Adri must clear her sister's name with the odds stacked against her. The ending especially gives the reader a 'feel good' moment as she reaffirms for everyone, including the reader, community and family matter and standing up for the right is never a mistake. Words to live by! Great read!

Very enjoyable cozy. Enjoyed the characters and the mystery. Adri was tenacious in solving the mystery. I really enjoyed the setting - Piscataquis County, Maine. I grew up in Penobscot County right on the border with Piscataquis. The description of the area and places mentioned was nostalgic for me.
