An exceptionally boring read. It's a love story between a young man and a woman who has a past boyfriend that she still has not gotten over. I couldn't find a plot in the story as it continually droned on. The only reason I read it was to eliminate another Nobel winner that I hadn't read. I only have two more to go Carl Spitteller who has no translation available and Bob Dylan who, as far as I can tell, has not written one damn book, I'll probably find a book of his song lyrics just so I can say I read something from him. I should, also, mention that the Gjellerup book I read was a Forgotten Books reprint with an atrocious number of printing errors in it and definitely affected my reading experience. Forgotten Books is a great source for out of print and hard to find books but can have printing errors, although, normally not this bad.

Lots of scenic details but a simple story.

Karl Gjellerup won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1917 "for his varied and rich poetry, which is inspired by lofty ideals."

Gjellerup is #46/121 on my Nobel reading challenge. I thought that Minna was a sweet, atmospheric story, but that there wasn't much depth or even stylistic interest. I'll try reading Gjellerup's poetry instead.
