Their relationship has been through as many ups and downs as Lilly’s safety. There was a time when Lilly was certain they could never have a future. And then, when a future together became possible, there were too many other reasons for Lilly to put off the man who wanted to marry her.

Talbott wants to finally give Lilly the wedding she deserves. And Lilly just wants to say “I do” to the man she has loved since she was a teenager.

When outside forces threaten to rip these two Immortal soul-mates apart once again, Talbott and Lilly will do whatever it takes to make their union permanent. They will sacrifice whatever they need to in order to turn their fateful love into something that lasts as long as they will.

I freaking love Lilly and Talbott even more!

Fateful Magic is another novella in the Star-Crossed series. It's so freaking short, cute, and agonizingly adorable because it's about Lilly and Talbott's relationship throughout the books. I wish it was secretly longer than what I got but I definitely enjoyed the entire thing. Now I'm super pumped to see how the ending of this series is going to play out.

The things that Lilly has gone through within this series has definitely made her a stronger person in the end. It sucks so much with what she did go through though. However, my love for her is still growing because she was definitely a favorite of mine in the first book. She is just a bad ass shifter who takes no one's shit. She just also happened to fall in love with Talbott, who is apart of the King's guard. Throughout the books she was fighting with her inner anxiety about him which made me sad. She always thought that Kiran would be his first choice, always. Well until he proved her wrong. He made her his first choice. She was his wife and the first thing he would and will always protect.

The ending was completely adorable and made me so freaking happy. I am loving this series so freaking much.

Fateful Magic made me fall in love with the Star Crossed series once again, in fact, I feel like re-reading the entire series, and I probably will. Fateful Magic was sweet and loving. It was the perfect amount of information to see when and how Lily and Talbot fell in love, and what they had to do to get to their wedding day. I have always loved Lily, but this made me adore her. Absolutely adore her. Honestly, I think Rachel could write the entire series from each characters point of view and I would be happy. Each character has so much depth, and so much to offer. I loved this!

4.5 stars -- LOVED IT!!! Holy cow, total swoon over Talbott! I mean, I knew I loved their love, but seeing little snippets from the past of pivotal moments in their relationship....AWESOME. Who knew he was so romantic? And emotional? It was kind of cool (well, not *cool*, but you know) to see Lilly's relationship with Talbott go through similar struggles (at similar times) to Eden and Kiran's relationship. I mean, I guess it's kind of obvious that that would happen, but I just never thought about what was happening with them at the end of Hopeless, you know?

The mix of past and present was perfect. LOVED how protective Talbott was in the now (the blood oath was hilarious). And seeing their struggles weaved carefully through their present solidity felt impactful to me. And of course they couldn't have a HEA without a little bit of crazy -- it is Ms. Higginson afterall. :) But it didn't take away from their love story, but rather highlighted their love for each other.

Yup, just all around goodness for epic fans of the series....

A cool short read that continues the star crossed series. I don't remember there being too much detail on Lily and Talbot in the books so far so it was really good to read this novella from Lily's perspective. I loved her character and enjoyed getting to see the current story and some scenes from the past through her eyes. Her perspective helped clear up some lingering confusion about how she came to forgive Talbot for his initial betrayal and accept him and Kiran when they joined the resistance. I'd recommend reading this short story if you love the star crossed series as much as I do and need something to keep you connected with the characters until the next book comes out.

“I wanted to do nothing more than give it up, you were the reason I didn’t. You were the reason I kept breathing. Kept living.”

“it feels as though I cannot breathe unless you are near. Sometimes it feels as though I will die if I cannot touch you. I want to be with you, iubita mea. I want you to be mine.”

It was the novella I didn’t know that I needed. Lilly and Talbott are adorable and I wanted to know how their love blossomed but I wasn’t thinking I’d ever get it. This was sweet. I’m pleased with it completely.

I loved reading this story about Lilly and Talbott. I enjoyed the then and now sections so we got to see how they were both feeling during certain important parts of the past books in this series. This story is very romantic, I love when Lilly tells Talbott “Please don’t blame yourself” “ Please just love me instead. Be with me instead.” Finally these two get a happy ever after even if there was a little hiccup before the wedding night could start, but it ended on a cute note.

An interesting novella and I’m sure I missed a huge part of it. I read this before reading any of the other series because I was unaware that this was a series. Now I realize it was a novella. It was still very informative so I feel like I got the gist of the story and it was fast paced so it was an easy read. Not bad.

This addition focuses on Lily and Talbot, and their relationship as it developed over the years. It truly was all about their love story leading up to their wedding and each event fit into the story line.

Sweet and short but added a good perspective and filled in a few bits of the story, but slightly more of the trashy romance novel feel and less of the fantasy action story than I prefer, but if your in it for the romance then it's great.

This book was so short, and we still didn’t get any major glimpse into what lily suffered at the hands of Terletov. Honestly, I was okay with that, but it felt a little like a cop out to help move the story along. I enjoyed this pov , tho! It was so cute, and the voice actor killed it. I love how Talbot is like a little puppy dog in love with lily😭 very sweet. Repetitive love tropes, but who doesn’t love some good wholesome true love? Adorable!

DNF, not gonna rate this one because I only made it in about 5 minutes. Maybe it’s the narration or the fact that I didn’t realize it was in the middle of the series.

Maybe I’ll pick it up again?

Another completely pointless and melodramatic installment. The ending also made zero sense. This series started off with some promise, but goodness, it has lost the plot.

This whole series is free on audible and it was really good. Some of the books were probably unnecessary. But still good.

Talbott and Lilly are now one of my favourite couples. I've never really paid much attention to them because they're just in the background. They're made for each other. In this book, Rachel Higginson kind of compares now and then in a way. Like then when it came to when she was captured and now when she was getting out of the coma. My heart broke for Talbott so bad. He didn't deserve what he got and neither did Lilly. She's so sweet an Talbott is so romantic. I loved how he keeps saying her name over and over. Then there was the hurt of his indirect betrayal. I understand that he has no choice but he still could have tried something but he made it up to her. She forgave him just like Eden did Kiran, even though Kiran's betrayal was worse.

Finally!

After ages of desperately wanting more of Lilly and Talbott, we finally have it! These two have been through so much, and I'm so glad we get to see more about their relationship through Lilly's POV.

It switches off between the past and the present so we get a wonderful balance of seeing those Talbott/Lilly scenes from the past that we were never quite privy to because let's face it, Eden was just too distracted by Kiran all the time. (Not that I blame her). And we also get to see what happens after Talbott got Lilly back in the last book.

I loved this!!!! So happy these two characters got some spotlight on them for once.
