Seventy years after her untimely death, Catherine has finally decided to do what she was never able to do before - live. The biggest problem for her, is that in order for her to live, others must die.
How does a gentle soul, who only wants a happy, complete life, balance her nature with her true self?
After 500 years, Henri is ready to welcome oblivion. The deal is condemn Catherine and be granted the peaceful rest he yearns for.
How does a tired soul, weary of the world, reconcile another's misery with his own goals?
To find their way, they must rely on their combined strength, or risk losing everything they've ever wanted.
CL is eclectic, geeky, positive, nature-loving and completely non-"normal" (just the way she likes to be). She has been a fan of literature since she was a small child and finally decided to take her dreams (both waking and sleeping!) and do something positive with them.
CL has lived all over the world and has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, minoring in Psychology and Forensics. Which means you don't want to cross her because she knows how and where to hide a body so it's never found! She proudly admits to hearing voices in her head, but at times, her characters' impromptu visits can be rude and annoying. Thankfully, she has adequate patience for their shenanigans and can out ninja them any day of the week.
CL's voice is boisterous, sassy, and not finished yet! Stay tuned!
~* I had the opportunity to BETA read this story for the author absolutely free. This review is my honest opinion and I have not and will not receive compensation in exchange for sharing it. *~
Truth Seeker is the story of Cat, a kind-hearted vampire turned shortly after her parents died and orphaned her and her younger sister. She has been alone, hounded by her sire and accompanied only by those he brought into her life since she was turned. Believing her sister Grace had died, she was certain that meant she had no family left. But when Grace and her significant other, an angel named Jaxon, kidnap Cat and take her to their home to reunite, Cat's whole world is turned upside down. Henri is sent by Cat's sire, Adriel, to capture her and bring her back to his castle when she decides to disappear off the map suddenly. Only Henri isn't at all ready for the feelings he will develop for Cat and vice versa. Sparks begin to fly, but when Adriel's obsession with Cat comes to a fight for life or death, Henri will be her strongest ally.
I beta read this story so I cannot comment on the grammar and spelling, though I feel there were few errors if there were any at all.
I would recommend this story to anyone that enjoys paranormal romance. There is an implied sexual encounter, but nothing graphic. It's intended for adults but I feel it is safe for older teens.
Overall, this story was amazing. I have the pleasure of knowing the real life Catherine, so this story is much closer to my heart. I fell in love with her character because she is so very much like the real Cat, all the way down to her store 'Cat's Candies'. The way Mrs. Foster builds her world and characters for this story just left me breathless. I cried as I read about Cat and all of the emotions in the story felt as though they were my own. The entire story was simply captivating from beginning to end and I honestly wish there was no end. I loved it so much. This was not my first read from this author and it most certainly will not be my last.
With each book C.L. Foster writes you can see that she is getting better and better at her craft! Grip of Mortality was my favorite book, but Truth Seeker has decided it's going to share that honored spot! C.L. Foster really knows how to write a a dynamic character. Not only that, but you are left wondering if these people are real! Her exceptional gift of wording and world crafting continues to get stronger and Truth Seeker is proof of that! Are you ready to have your emotions pulled out of you? Are you ready to get lost in a world never seen before? Follow Cat and her companions as they take on an ancient evil and see who lives and who dies!
I don't care much for vampire story (I'm a zombie freak myself) But I really like the story of Cat who is a vampire. In trying to escape the clutches of her sire, Cat finds her sister whom Cat had thought died.Henri is sent by Adriel, Cat's sire to capture her and bring her back to him, but Henri has other ideas once he meets Cat. It becomes a fight to the death. These are not your usual vampires, I was very enthralled by this story and can't wait to hopefully read more about Cat, Henri, and her friends. Grap Truth Seeker and sit down to enjoy a great read!
I really enjoyed this book! It is the first book I've read by C.L. Foster and it won't be the last. Vampires that don't drink blood? Um...what?? Color me intrigued! I loved the characters and the plot was fast paced and held my attention. I ended up reading it in two sittings- and that's only because I had to stop and feed my children and what-not. You know- be a real life person. :-P I definitely recommend it!
I absolutely fell in love with this vampire story. It was different than the cookie cutter stories everywhere. I love to read a book from C.L. Foster. Her personality comes through in her characters. I love a book that lets me laugh out loud in true glee. This is a wonderful story and so well written. The characters are so real I want to put them on my Christmas card list. I cant imagine anyone not loving this.
I started to do my review and as I do I always read the blurb about the book, I have to say the blurb doesn't do it justice.
This isn't one of your run of the mill vampire books, Cat definitely isn't your standard vampire. Not just vampires but you also have an angel thrown in for good measure.
The characters are well written and believable. The story flows well and at the right pace.
I enjoyed the book and would happily read more from this author.
