Tori believed she was finally escaping the shadows of her past, but everything shatters when Londyn receives a life-altering “She was the mother of the twins.” Suddenly, Tori's world tilts, leaving her with more questions than answers as she crosses her graduation stage, haunted by confusion and uncertainty. With Los by her side, she struggles to hold onto hope, yet the revelation forces her to question if her biological family is even worth fighting for. Desperate to provide a normal life for her own son, Tori finds her dreams slipping further away as dark secrets from her past resurface, intertwining dangerously with her present. Meanwhile, Riley, the girl who betrayed her, remains free, bound to the enigmatic Bakari, whose intentions toward Tori remain dangerously unclear.
Carlos "Los" thought stepping into the role of Tori’s acting father would be straightforward, but he quickly realizes he's underestimated the emotional turmoil and drama surrounding her complicated life. Temptations from other women and the weight of responsibility threaten to unravel him—until he meets Londyn. Captivated by her energy and strength, Los finds himself torn between loyalty to the family he's determined to build and the seductive pull of Londyn’s hidden past. But can he withstand the storm of secrets and lies that threaten to destroy everything he's fought for?
Londyn’s entire existence has been built upon deception. Believing one child was dead, she now faces the shocking truth that her daughter is alive and grown. The twins she raised, once thought to be the product of her late husband’s betrayal, are also entangled in the same web of lies. Now, as a newly widowed woman, Londyn must confront her deepest fears, heal old wounds, and forge a fragile bond with the daughter she never knew. Yet, the past refuses to remain buried, and the resurfacing of old traumas threatens to destroy the delicate future she desperately seeks.
As each character confronts their own painful truths, they must grapple with the ultimate Is love enough? With vengeance lurking, tragedy striking, and the innocence of youth forever lost, this raw, emotionally charged coming-of-age story by Theresa Reese delves deeply into the power of family bonds, the devastating weight of hidden secrets, and the intricate complexities of love.
There are no words to describe how much I really, really disliked every character in this book. I hate that for me because this series started out (at the beginning until like midway through book one) so good. Then all the characters started to flip. I never liked the mother, but it’s even worse in book 2. But not only are the characters horrible, the writing is bad. This author seems to keep packing on drama after drama after drama without at least solving one problem. The personalities of the characters are truly confusing and flip floppish. Los is a f’in pushover, like just leave the girl alone, yall don’t even know each for you to be doing all this chasing. Tori not even trying to get herself together, she doesn’t work or anything. How you turn against the one person that had your back? Then she saying he turned on her and I got confused because when? Like it will take a whole other book to list all the stuff that didn’t make sense and the characters stupidity.
Yea I didn’t finish this book so I don’t if this is the last or if there will be another part. I don’t think I ever disliked every character in a book before this might be the first.
This book was just okay. There was no growth for real from the characters from book one to two. If anything it got worse. Nobody likes a back and forth relationship and no one likes to read it consistently in a book. Only two characters I like in this book and one of them hardly. That's Jade who I love and Los is decent. He isn't no Street dude so I don't understand why that keeps being mentioned in this book he is everywhere but the streets you might as well make him a non-street man. It was just too much drama on every page and after a while it gets tiring and old to continuously read somebody fighting and arguing and saying messed up things to each other, it's almost every page. I don't feel love from this book I don't feel like anybody should be together in this book all I remember is the bad there's nothing really good that came out of this book. people fighting, being attacked pregnant and people fighting with their kids and they had people fighting with their kids around almost every page. We never got like a warm chapter from anybody where there was no drama just one chapter every page was draining. I haven't started a book series and not finished it, so I will continue on to book three and hopefully it will be better
The first book was ok…but this second was difficult to get though. Between the petty childish antics, the constant curing out of each other n it going all over the place…the story line just got lost.
This part 2 took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and then some. Los being back cool with Londyn was good thing. Tori finally growing up and letting Bakari be the man he said he was gonna be was short lived at best. I wonder who it was that he slept with bc inquiring minds want to know. Diyana on bs and her jealousy is starting to remind me of Riley. Speaking of Riley I bet she won’t come for Tori anymore. Tori trying to be the bigger person let Xander be with Bakari’s family and his mama did the unthinkable. This woman that helped Bae out need a to get her life bc she didn’t way too much. Ace was a snake from the beginning and I’m glad he met his fate. Londyn has come a long way and still has a long way to go with the twins and Tori but that damn Chase is a handful by himself. I’m glad her Tyder and Tori’s relationships are way better & she just got a surprise in the form of a new addition. Iesha was always who she was gonna be and I’m glad she was found out but it cost a man his life smh. Kelsey needs to get her life together and in a hurry. Marvin was still on bs bc he was in love with Hari but he definitely got his karma and when I said I am elated I was cheesing hard as hell. Los was definitely growing and changing but then he gets pulled into some mess and ruins it so fast. Shauna did a good did and Rahmeek still on bs so it don’t erase the wrong they did to Tori or Londyn. I bet Ceasia won’t be pulling no more stunts like that if she knows what’s good for her. I wanna know the deal with this Alexis girl I hope she a genuine person Tori could use a good friend in her corner. Great job on part two boo but you never disappoint anyway. If y’all ain’t caught up on this series it’s time to play catch up and fast.
Innocence of a Hood Virgin II throws you right back into the drama and emotions that make this series so addictive. Tori is fighting to stay grounded while everything around her feels shaky and complicated. Her relationships are tested in ways that feel real and heavy and you can feel how much she is carrying on her shoulders.
The tension builds beautifully as the people closest to her start moving in ways she never expected. Londyn is dealing with her own storm, Los is messy in a way that keeps the drama alive, and Bakari continues to be a source of frustration that makes you want to yell at the page. The energy between the entire cast stays unpredictable which keeps you hooked because no one is acting the way they should. It is layered, emotional, and full of those moments that make you pause and breathe because the characters feel real.
By the end I felt every bit of shock and disbelief. Theresa Reese knows how to twist a plot without spoiling the emotional payoff and this book proves it. It is intense, chaotic, and completely unputdownable and I am already reaching for the next part.
Now why you do me like this?!! That cliffhanger got me mad! This book was so entertaining and very good!
It was so much going on , it was like a movie..
I absolutely love the crazy family dynamics. Tori has come a long way and I’m somewhat proud of her. She taking the teenager mother role to heart. Love the bond she has created with Londyn even tho they bicker like two sisters instead of mom/ daughter. I love it tho! Los crazy self is still Los.. but honey he got himself into some ish that is going to be fun to see how it play out.
Eh man this story is getting more toxic by the page. I just want them to mellow out and love one another. It’s one thing after another. Los cannot take anymore. Londyn is so sweet but so darn insecure. Tori needs work mentally and emotionally. Im scared for this new friend she has. Something isn’t right. I keep holding my breath expecting another messy, toxic twist. Like when I got the shock of my life Tori getting beat by Bakari’s mom. I’m waiting for book 3 but I need this storyline to clean up man.
So I like this series however I’m starting not to like Tori or her mom idk what it is but Tori never seems to have Carlos back when he needs it and I know that’s her mom but she was always in their business when she couldn’t even get ahold of her own business. It seems like loyalty isn’t a thing and u look out for ur own ppl or at least give them the benefit of the doubt. Los always showed up for them and they didn’t give him the same. By the end of this book idk how I feel about this story anymore. We shall see 🤷🏾♀️
Theresa Reese, good read. Lawd this cliffhanger what in the world? Los just can't get it right. Tori is gonna be good in the end. I love how Londyn and Tori are learning from each other. Los should've wondered why was this situation being offered to him? Lawd I know it's gonna be good in the end but baby this ride is so bumpy and uneven. It's gotta get greater later. I can't wait to see how this ends. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I understand what was trying to be done I just didn’t enjoy this book. There were a few grammatical errors but that was fine I really just didn’t like Tori she was so fickle she completely turned on Los every time the mood hit her. Not just him though she was grown but stayed calling her parents for everything. I just didn’t like the lead characters I like by people to be more loyal and this book no one was loyal.
Tori is pissing me off because she’s really giving naive teenager! Like why would you believe anybody over Los, and then wanna be telling your mom everything like Los wasn’t there for you! And Los, I’m not understanding why didn’t he just tell Londyn and put her up in game so that this didn’t happen! And at the end it’s giving Raheem and his sister or the Marvin or Marsha person! But damn none of them can catch a break!
I highly recommend this series…anxiously waiting on book 3: I must say Tori and London are getting on my last nerve! Tori and her mammy need’s to really grow up. I’m hoping in book #3 we see that. They both are just ummmmmmm to much, it’s really a good series 😜
Book 2 was good, but a lot was going on! It was kind of like watching a Tyler Perry movie... like it was getting on your nerves, but you couldn't walk away from it, lol. Everybody acted foolish and childish! It'll definitely keep you on your toes, and the cliffhanger was crazy! Hopefully, everybody grows up in book 3 and shows some kind of growth!
Mannnnnnnn this picked right up where part one left off. Lawd Los, Tori and Londyn cant get a break. Shootings, arrests, new boos, fights, new friends. Mannnnnnn nonstop drama and action. I have so many questions that I need answers to so patiently waiting for part 3. Make sure yall read this because you are in for a ride.
Los just can't catch a break. I don't know how he gonna get out of this with this looney lady but it ain't looking to good. I'm kinda proud of Tori even though she be acting like a brat sometimes. I can't wait to see how this plays out.💟💟
The characters each have a story to tell. I think Tori needs to finally drop her child’s father and focus on herself. Londyn should just focus on being a mom for now until all the drama subsides.
Listen, this book got me ready to fight that whole family….. cause what are y’all doing…. I’m on the verge of drinking…. Theresa Reese, girl…I hope you slow me all the way down with this last book, I’m about to stroke out….
This is one of the few, seriously good cliffhangers I've read in a very long time. I told myself that I would leave a review while I was in the middle because it's just that good but I need to start Part 3.
After reading part one you would think I would be ready for the twists and turns but no I was not prepared and you won’t be either pick this up!!! Read it!!!
I thought the first one was good but mannn, part 2 has me in a chokehold. I went through every emotion right along with each character! I need part 3!!!!
I just wasn't ready for the jaw drops with this one lol.. felt like everybody in this book was going through something.. Book 3 has to be a happy ending for somebody lol..
