Maisy thought she had finally found her safe harbor with Asante and Andre, the two men who rescued her from a dark past and welcomed her into their unconventional family. But with their impending move, the fragile security she's built threatens to crumble. Just as she grapples with this unsettling change, two new figures enter her life, stirring unexpected emotions. Dr. Jason Reid sparks unfamiliar feelings, while the reappearance of Teddy reveals a depth Maisy hadn't noticed before.
However, the delicate balance of Maisy's newfound peace shatters when a sudden shooting leaves Andre injured. Uncertainty and fear grip their household, and Maisy finds herself adrift once more. Both Dr. Reid and Teddy step forward, offering the support and care she desperately needs. Yet, Maisy, a self-proclaimed brat accustomed to pushing people away, struggles to accept their help.
Can Maisy break down the walls she's built around her heart and allow them to show her the true meaning of family? Or will the ghosts of her past prove too powerful, stealing away her chance at happiness forever?
Please While each book in the North Haven Little's series can be read as a standalone, the reading experience is enriched by following the intended order. This book contains mature themes including discussions of past trauma, abuse, self harm, BDSM elements with a Daddy Dom dynamic, and violence and is intended for adult readers who enjoy stories with dominant, nurturing male characters and steamy romantic elements.
Sunny Kain is a relatively new author who is carving out a heartfelt niche. Her books explore emotionally intense themes often involving trauma, healing, and the search for deep, protective love. She’s open about her passion for stories where characters overcome darkness and find strength through connection. Which resonates with readers who enjoy emotionally driven romance with dominance and vulnerability.
That said, her writing style is still evolving, and she’s candid about being on a journey to refine her voice. If you’re into emotionally raw, character focused stories with strong romantic dynamics, she might be worth checking out
I will start with that I enjoy the length of each of these books so far. Sunny Kain really seems to have a talent for crafting engaging and heartfelt stories. It is easy to get lost in these and I love it. I enjoy the fact that the characters have for the most part have pretty " tragic" pasts, and that they find a way to grow and evolve from them with love. With this book I have to say that I also enjoyed the MM scenes too. The way things are so detailed like the emotions and thoughts adds a good element that shows how each character develops through their own experiences and how it changes their mindset when they find " the one". I find the " Being" that helps to bring them together to be interesting and hope to learn more about it too. I also love that there is a happy ending to each one. For a new writer Sunny Kain is doing awesome so far and I can't wait for more books! As always with this series Spicy scenes are 10/10 in my opinion ;)
