Between Roc and a Hard Place

Rate this book
Two almost-exes battle sharks, saboteurs, and treacherous desire when they become caught up in a dangerous search for a legendary shipwreck

Salvage diver Roc Trellyn has just hauled up the biggest catch of his career. But the creature in his net isn’t a prize fish—or a mermaid. It’s Melinda Davenport, his ex-wife. Except they’re still married—just a little glitch they both seem to have overlooked. What is she doing on the high seas? Has she come to spy and make sure she gets her cut of the bounty?

It’s been three years since Melinda last laid eyes on Roc. She thought they were divorced. Her mistake. A bigger blunder would be to let the gorgeous hunk seduce her again. After Roc walked out, she swore she’d hate him forever. Now she’s his prisoner aboard the Crystal Lee , assailed by treacherous memories of sensual nights in his arms on the open seas. And now the hunt is on for a legendary Spanish ship that went down somewhere between the Florida Keys and the Bahamas . . . until passion reignites, giving Melinda and Roc a second shot at a love that just might be the true treasure.

I just realized that I've almost finished my stash of my Heather Graham books!!!
It's such a despair. I can't believe it.

This one was not my typical H.G. go-to books but what a really nice read.
As usual, the angst was ever present between the Hero and heroine.
Beautiful, gorgeous heroine was thrust 'accidentally / or not - you decide' into her ex-husband's boat. Errr, maybe not an ex husband as they both soon found out. They were still very much married to each other - even after all these three years.
I loved their banters, their suspicions, their hurt and their chemistry.
The only thing I would loved to see more was a bit more groveling by the Hero - when he mistrusted her once again. I would liked to see him apologize a wee bit more.

All in all, a rather short story for a H.G. book (about 200 pages) but a thoroughly pleasant one. Loved it.

Good

Roc Trellyn is not terribly surprised to discover that the woman his crew hauled up in nets, is his not-so-ex wife Melinda.
Melinda knows that she made a mistake three years ago, resulting in Roc walking out of her life, but she is determined to try and make it right, and that means helping the salvage crew find their sunken treasure ship…

A fun, quick read, this is one of Graham’s non-paranormal romances. It’s a second chance romance, featuring a hero who can be a bit of a jerk, and a heroine who has trouble admitting when she is wrong. They’re both flawed, but both destined for each other.
It’s an enjoyable romance, even if Roc did annoy me at times, the ending was mostly satisfying (even if my questions about those three years were never answered!).
This is a quick read tust fans of the author, and romance fans might well enjoy.
