After dating more than her fair share of frogs, Gustavia asks the universe to send her a prince. But, when her psychic advisor insists she has already met her soul mate, prospects look bleak.
Finn Kent is no prince, just an ordinary guy who wants to protect his daughter from another devastating loss. He is definitely not pushing Gustavia away to protect his own heart. That is the story and he is sticking to it.
Between being caught in the crosshairs of a madman and dealing with turbulent family relationships, the last thing Gustavia needs is another rejection. Drawn to Gustavia, Finn fights against his growing attraction every step of the way, but in the end, both must overcome the losses in their past or risk never having the love they deserve.

I live in Maine with my husband, a silly flufferpup named Dash, and a crazy cat named Cricket. I write full time and also create mixed media artwork when I get the chance.
When I was three, my mom brought home a new book and when she went to read it to me, I read it to her instead. That was when she realized I'd learned to read. Since then I couldn't even estimate the number of books I've read. It's a lot!

Bells On Her Toes I'm not sure why I'm still reading this series. There really isn't much mystery, it's more YA suspense/romance than anything (nothing against YA or romance, they're just not my thing.) Still, it's a charming series and suspenseful enough to hold my interest, although the angst got old after awhile. I just wanted to grab Gustavia and Finn and slap the shit out of them.
Ah this was great. It was great to get Gustavias story. She is a fab character and Finn too. This was heartwarming, lighthearted and humorous. It was good to catch-up with the characters from the first book too, and the ghostly pop ins are brilliant. Another fun mystery and treasure hunt.
This addition to Ms. Welling's Psychic Seasons series is Gustavia's story. This one is more about family, the family we are born into and the one we create. There is also another treasure hunt in Hayward House and Gustavia has her opportunity for romance. A cute afternoon read.

There are two covers for this series, as I mentioned in my review of the first book, Rings on Her Fingers. I really like this more celestial set of covers, so I have gotten all my books with these covers. However, I did want to share a peek at the other covers with you, at least of this book. I’ll stick it in at the end for those of you who are interested.
This second book of the series is better than the first one. It’s not an introductory book. It has the luxury of already having characters in place and known. The locale is already set up and familiar to us, so it’s free to be a really good book, and it definitely is. This is Gustavia’s story. Gustavia loves bright colors and beads and bells and lots of braids and crazy things that most people just wouldn’t try to put together, but she does and she carries it all off with panache. And some raised eyebrows and quiet asides. She also has a problem with Julie’s wacko ex-husband. And family issues that keep churning things up. Tired of kissing all the frogs in town trying to find a Prince, Gustavia deals the Tarot and asks the universe to send her a true love. The Tarot says she already knows him. Huh? Who? Did she miss the introduction? Was she away from home when he dropped by to say hello?
Well, yes we’ve met Finn, too. He’s just your average widowed guy trying to raise his daughter and keep her safe. He’s attracted to Gustavia and her free-spirit, but that’s not what he’s looking for as a new mother for his daughter. He needs someone who has both feet on the ground and is sensible. His daughter is quite taken by Gustavia’s bohemian fairy-like look and free-spirited approach to life and just can’t resist the happiness she sees in her after losing her mother. Will Finn allow Gustavia to fill the needs he and his daughter have in their lives? Or will he play it safe and deny the love they’re both reaching for?
It’s not just a romance this time, either. We have another treasure hunt for more family goodies in Julie’s old house! Clues to find and follow and pitfalls to avoid along the way. And our ghostly helpers are back again! The pace and tension were perfect for this fun paranormal romance with its ghostly treasure hunt. I’m all set to read the next one in the series, She Shall Have Music. Recommended. I’d love to read other things by this author as well.

These are the two sets of book covers for books two and three of this series.
Following the story that was begun in Book One, Rings on Her Fingers, a lovely group of women with a variety of abilities in the psychic fields. After Julie and Tyler fell in love and the con man, Logan, had left the area, the best friends try to relax.
This story centers around Gustavia, a writer of children's books and a free-spirited young woman with a sad family history. She was instrumental in uncovering Logan's con and protecting Julie from his plans to defraud her under guise of marriage. Now she is waiting for her own prince to appear...lonely and trying to hide it.
When she meets a young, very sad girl and her father at a reading of one of her new books at the library, she has no idea that a plan is set in motion...and that they will come together a year later.
Reading this tale is engrossing and compelling. With the help of elderly ghosts these friends help each other in all aspects of their lives, including the battle of the return of Logan - who is seeking vengeance against his former fiance and, especially Gustavia, who he feels was at fault for driving him from town.
Just as fun as the first in the series. Still love that old home. Not sure how I feel about the testosterone injection. Her family issues needed a bit more. Finally a child. Enjoy, I did.
I did not enjoy this story as much as the first one. Although is does work as a stand alone read, as it does recap history from the first book, you will enjoy it more when read in sequence. This book has some darker sections than the first. It is more about the romance than the mystery. You only get a couple hints of the treasure hunt before the last few chapters. Then it goes full tilt. Logan, the antagonist, doesn't really show up until chapter 11, about one third into the book. The love interest runs so hot/cold until just before the end, that I tired of it. It is still suspenseful enough to hold my interest. The family dynamics and development for Gustavia, lead character for this story, were quite intriguing.
This series is totally addicting! And this second book is just as good, if not better, than the first. Heroines who fall for the good guys, bad guys who make the story scary, and mysterious agendas to figure out. What could be better...oh yeah, a midlife heroine. Perfect!
1.5 stars. The first of the series was not bad. This one is bad, mainly because the 2 main characters are no compelling enough to carry the story. The writing is sophomoric and Gustavia and Finn are very annoying. I mostly skimmed my way through the book and got to the end only because the other characters are likeable and because I wanted to know how the treasure hunt clues were worked out.
This is the second book in the series. To understand it best you need to read "Rings on her Fingers" first. It gives you history for the second book. In this book the treasure hunt is secondary to the romance. So if you like a good romance you will like this book.
I cannot get enough of this series and the characters in it. I love how everyone works together and supports each other. The paranormal element is just enough, not overly done so they can live in the real world.
Finn is a restorative architect, who Gustavia meets and introduces to Julia. Finn works on Julia's house to put on a new roof. Meanwhile the second clue to the second treasure in the house surfaces.
I love how the 2 mysteries are intertwined, if the third book is as well then I will read others by this author. Great stories and characters, I love the group of women in this series. Hopefully, all the men keep up!
I love mysteries mixed with unexplained events. The storyline has many characters and emotions entwined along with deep descriptions of scenery and history. A pleasure read with no forthcoming fears or nightmares.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, great storyline, fantastic characters, mystery, intrigue, ghosts, love and friendship that comes together for all time. And treasure hunting
Romances continue to develop, treasure continues to be found, but evil is growing in the mind of Logan. Gustavia reunites with family as a near fatal accident reminds them of her. Life shows that all treasure is not gold, pearls, emeralds or diamonds.
now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this book.
2.5 stars. Another installment focusing on a different character, this is still a very YA series. A simple read with fun characters, this story finds romance for another of the group and some more treasure. Still campy and cheesey, but enjoyable. Reminds me of the babysitter's club books, or even Judy Bloom. Definitely appropriate for tweens and young teens - even the romance is rather rated G.
Terrific. Okay a bit darker than the first book and it now centres on the children's book author. The ex-fiance has disappeared but has he gone r are the ghost correct in that something has merged with him and hidden him from their view. Something dark and sinister. Her BFF has a new fiance and her books are a success. Giving a reading in the library is just another way to give back. She certainly didn't expect to meet a young bereaved girl and her widower father. Nor did she expect to get her next book out of that meeting. Her next meeting has him blowing hot and cold but he wants to see the house and make a bid on the work. Add in a dysfunctional family, a wounded heart, another treasure to find, ghosts, her life being threatened and new understandings. Will she and the widower ever see eye to eye? Will she ever get over her past? Has her BFF's ex given up his plan for revenge? Reminds me of some of Jayne Castle's work as well as Nora Roberts.
Fun series, but the errors in the kindle edition are hideous.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
A fun series with a touch of paranormal, lots of suspense, beautiful friendships, and wonderful romance. I enjoyed Gustavia's story as much as I did Julie and Tylers. What a great group of friends and a wonderful adventure. Logan is still around causing serious trouble, the group is searching for the next treasure cache, and we learn more about Gustavia's family. That background did not click as well as I would have liked, but I enjoyed seeing the changes. Loved when she told her dad off and when she discovered a new member of the family, well not new, but new to her. The romantic interest is aggravating but his hot and cold flips are well supported and explained. Gustavia even gets it, but she is only willing to put up with so much. She is a strong woman and I love that.
Does this book even have an editor?!!!!!!!!! If so, they should be fired. Especially when parts of sentences are missing. I'm not talking about an "and" here or a "the" there (which also happens quite often). I'm talking about half of a sentence.
"This was something she was coming to understand as she placed the battered "
That's it; start new paragraph. I know what the author was going to say, generally, but that doesn't forgive the oversight. Any proofreader worth their salt would have caught that one.
I liked the storyline and would have given it a higher rating, if it weren't for all the typos and missing words.
This was really good. The second book in this series by Ms Welling. I really enjoyed the story, and how the protagonist (in this book it was Gustavia) is so able to get the little girl who is suffering from the loss of her mother, but can't see the same loss in the girl's father in the same way. So much truth about human relations and how we all internalize others' reactions to us as being about us when sometimes they just aren't. Read it. You will love it!
