Jenni Simonis, an award winning writer, has been crafting stories since she was a young girl. Whenever school supplies were bought for the year, she always snuck in a few extra thick spiral notebooks for to fill with her tales. The pile grew over the years. eventually turning into digital notebooks and then a tablet.
Before finally succumbing to her passion of writing romance novels, she spent years working in the newspaper industry in Texas. There, she won multiple awards, both individually and as part of larger team projects.
Jenni lives in the Pacific Northwest of the United States with her husband, son, sister, and several pets.
I didn’t sleep because of the first 75% of this book. I didn’t put it down. I couldn’t. It was TOO good. Too yummy.
This isn’t your typical bodyguard romance. Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever read a bodyguard x mmf romance like this before. It was a different experience, and GOOD one.
The mafia don was a little harsh at times, but he turned into a damn teddy bear. It was all a facade. And the bodyguard? Big buff dominant king. Wonderful. Magnificent. Gimme 14 of em. The fmc was also very strong willed and could hold her own which I liked!
Sometimes of the spicy scenes got a little cut off at the end (I think after 70%, all of the scenes were “closed door”) and I wish I could’ve gotten a little bit more of a behind the scenes action, especially with the three of them, but it was still enjoyable regardless.
Now for the sh!tbag (if you read the book, you know who I’m talking about), I could’ve guessed who it was BUT THERE WAS STILL A CURVEBALL IN THERE THAT I WASNT READY FOR !!!
Love when authors can still keep my brain running like a hamster wheel. Overall, 4.75 out of 5 stars!!!
I tried to give this book a fair try and have read atleast 55% of this book.
The first thing that bothered me was the age when anthony meet liliana when she was 14 years old after he had vision of her due to a curse on his family. although he married her after she turned 18 but still it felt uncomfortable and didn't sit right with me.
Secondly the story felt rushed from the get go like taking her away, then marrying her, then telling her she has to become a mother as soon as possible felt off putting for me. Due to which i also couldn't connect with the story or chracter.
The only character i liked was cesare as i was curious to see what his relationship dynamic with both of them will be like. Lastly i wished Liliana would have stood her ground more and not give in so easily.
This book was a bit more difficult for me where it was super spicy and was not expecting all the spice.
The plot, twists and storylines were amazing with all the characters and their dynamics! I absolutely loved how it started with a curse, forced marriage that turned into love, following their hearts, saving an innocent life and the list can go on.
This book pulled at my heartstrings and had me going through the emotions throughout the book. I highly recommend.
I was blessed with the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Ménage with the Devil. Huge thank you to Jenni Simonis and team, and as always, all opinions are my own!
“You love to be dominated. He tries, but you need more. You both do. And I’m looking forward to being the one who gets to do it.”
Yes. Yes yes!! There were so many tropes in here were such a good little mish mash; mafia, fated mates, family cursed, forced proximity, touch her and die and some of my personal favorites... why choose, reverse harem and bisexual awakening 😍
Antony is the mafia don, burdened by a family curse and fated to marry the woman he sees in a vision when he comes of age, or descend into madness... Lilliana, the one fated, taken away from her life and family with zero warning to marry the Devil of Chicago... and battle with her growing feelings for the forbidden.. Césare, the bodyguard and the man stationed to protect his bosses wife... the woman who should not be falling in love with...
I absolutely loved seeing the LGBTQIA representation and seeing not just the typical MFM dynamic but the additional bisexual awakening for the two men! The instant obsession, the passion and tension.. the longing, my goodness.. 🥵 I absolutely feel in love with this book and getting to read about the growing relationships between the three and watching them all grow and evolve; especially our girl Lilliana - going from the quiet, shy and meek girl into a strong, opinionated mafia wife was incredible!!
The only problem I had, and this is just a personal opinion in regards to my preference, is it wasn't as dark as I would normally expect a Mafia romance to be; hence why we lost a star here.
“I can’t touch you , but I can use my mouth. Tell me, how wet are you? Did watching me with your husband turn you on?” - Césare
Arc review 5/5 ⭐️ 5/5 🌶 5/5 🔪 ----- One of my absofuckinglutely favorite things is books with bi rep. Even better if that bi rep comes in an MMF pairing.
Now add in some mafia, a curse, fated mates, and I am one happy lil ducky.
Now, I got to see this story from the start. I got to listen to the author talk out parts of the story, to figure out pacing, plot points, etc. When it was an MF pairing. I got to see how those pesky characters just come out of left field and do whatever the fuck they want. And I'm so glad they did. I liked the ML and the FL as a couple, but when the other ML joined in, I fell head of tails in love with the three of them.
While this is a mafia book, it is more mafia light. And while the story does get dark at times, I wouldn't really say it's a dark romance.
This has fated mates, curses, friends to lovers, arranged marriage, touch them and die vibes, a bit of a beauty and the beast retelling vibe to it, praise kink, shared family trauma, shared family healing, some hurt/comfort and a nice age gap (7-8yrs).
I highly recommend reading. But, I know I might be biased, the author is a family member. But, they know, better than anyone, that if I don't like it, I can be a bit of a bitch about it.
But hey, it's on KindleUnlimited, go give it a read and see if you enjoy it. ❤️
Antony is a dangerous man who brings with him a legacy. Lilliana is a woman who's been stolen from her family and yet still has a fierce heart and a strength beyond her years. Césare is a man who's bound by his duty and yet longs for so much more.
Antony has been the head of the Bernardi Family since he was far too young to truly understand everything it meant, and yet he knows that his fate and destiny is sealed in that role. From the moment he had his vision of Lilliana, he knew that she was his fate, and that he had no choice but to marry her, and the very future of his family's existence depended on her submission and acceptance to that role. It's for that very reason that Antony entrusted his best friend Césare to protect her, care for her, and be her friend in Antony's absence.
But, Antony knows that trust always comes with a price, and all too soon Antony finds that he's caught between heaven and hell. He's always demanded loyalty from everyone around him, but, can he truly trust that Lilliana and Césare will deliver him from his sins? Or Will the salvation that he seeks be his undoing in more than just one way?
Lilliana finds herself shocked and surprised when she arrives home one day to find that the Devil of Chicago is sitting in her living room with her parents, and even more shocking he tells her that she is leaving with him right away to be his bride. She knows that she should be fighting him, that she's not ready to get married or be a wife, but a deeper part of her wants to submit to the devil and she knows that he's too strong for her to truly resist.
After signing the marriage document Antony leaves her alone with his right-hand man Césare and Lilliana can't explain it but she knows that it's only going to be a matter of time before the fire that's ignited between her and Antony ignites between all three of them.
Lilliana can see that they are all dancing around the truth and playing games with each other, trying to deny the truth and she prays that the games eventually stop. Now she wonders if the games they are playing will destroy more than just their fragile hearts? Or Will the love that's slowly blooming between them be the salvation that eventually saves them all?

Menage with the Devil is the 1st book in the Bernardi Family Curse series by Jenni Simonis. I love Jenni Simonis's books and her writing and I will read anything and everything by her as soon as I am given the chance and she has not disappointed with this book. She gave me three of my favourite things in this book, why choose (reverse harem), Mafia, and bi-awakening with an MMF pairing. I love when we get any type of LGBTQIA representation but as I am bi, I tend to lean towards books that give us that bi representation. And as the icing on the cake, we got an unknown curse on the mafia boss and fated mates. I was in heaven with this book.
I fell in love with Lilliana from the first moment we met her. She is a fiery little firecracker. But, she is also kind, caring, intelligent, strong, brave, and she eventually found her own voice and managed to take charge of the clubs that she was put in charge of.
I loved watching her growth throughout the entire book. She started out as this timid unsure young girl who didn't know her place in the Bernardi family that she had married into. And throughout the book you watch her grow and find her place till she is taking charge, finding her voice, and making plans of her own.
And even in her relationship dynamic with Antony, you watch as she starts off unsure and feeling like she doesn't have a voice. And she really doesn't know how to talk to her new husband and how to approach him. And as you watch, she finds a way to talk to him, she finds her voice in telling him what she wants and even who she wants, and you feel the chemistry grow between them as their passion and chemistry slowly turns into friendship and then into love.
Antony was a hard one to get to really know. At least until Lilliana came into his life. Before Lilliana, he seemed so focused on his family business and he was cold, cut off, and really he came off like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. And then Lilliana came into his life and they were married and while he ignored her at first and really messed up with her at first, we slowly watched him open up to her and we got the opportunity to see him change and become a better man and a better husband.
As we got to know Antony we got to see that he was really a kind, caring, big teddy bear who would do anything not only to keep Lilliana safe and healthy but he would also do anything in his power to make her happy. We watched as he slowly realized that he couldn't do everything on his own and he started to delegate duties to Lilliana like letting her get involved in running events in his clubs, and she did have some great ideas that brought the clubs back to life and revitalized them. And he realized that he could use some of her ideas in some of his other businesses.
Césare whom I loved from the first moment that we got to meet him is Antony's best friend and the two grew up together. Antony assigned Césare to be Lilliana's bodyguard, protector, and friend in the beginning and eventually it was Césare who explained the trauma that Antony and Césare had gone through when they were just young kids, trying to help her understand their past and why it was so important to Antony to have the family that he's always dreamed of.
Césare has always dreamed of being part of the Bernardi family. When they were younger there was a time he thought that he would marry Antony's sister Cat before tragedy struck. Césare is kind, caring, protective, obsessive, and has a bit of a dominant streak (but that's only in the bedroom).
From very early on, you can feel the chemistry that's present between Césare and Lilliana and Césare and Antony even though they are trying their best to ignore it and deny that it's there. But, eventually, thanks to Lilliana and her smutty books, it happens and all three of them end up together and they couldn't be happier.
While there are elements of the mafia being present in this book, you can't call this a full-on mafia book. I would call this more of a mafia light book. I would have loved to see more of the mafia elements in this book, but that would have made the book a lot longer and I don't honestly think that those elements would have helped to move the story forward. And this book isn't all that dark, yes there are dark moments, but I can't say that it's a dark romance.
I loved the twist on how fated mates were found in this book. That was a twist that I wasn't expecting. We also got a curse that we don't know how it was started or what it's all about or how to break it and in a way the curse arranges the marriages for the Bernardi Family. And we see friends becoming lovers, touch them and unalive vibes, praise kinds, a shared family trauma that also comes with shared family healing, there's some beautiful hurt/comfort, we get that not too bad age gap of 7-8 years, and this gives you the feeling of a bit of a Beauty and the Beast retelling with lots of twists.
I loved Menage With The Devil so much. I can't wait to reread it and I can't wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens next. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone as it's not that dark, light mafia, and if you read and can handle the triggers I know you'll enjoy this book just as much as I did. And I can't recommend Jenni Simonis enough either. I have loved each and every one of her books that I have read and she is always one author that I will read when I have the opportunity to grab one of her new releases.
My main issue with this book is the age of the FMC, Ana. At 18 (or “almost 19,” as it’s frequently pointed out), her youth made the dynamic with Anthony uncomfortable—especially since they married and were expected to consummate the same day she was taken from her family. The fated mate plotline wasn’t enough to justify how little understanding Ana seemed to have about consent, and it began to feel less romantic and more like grooming. The repeated insistence that Anthony "stopped looking" when he found out she was 14 the first time he met her didn’t help, and so the “perv” joke fell flat for me.
Even though Ana was technically of age, the speed at which everything unfolded—being taken away from her family, drugged, isolated, pressured into marriage, then asked to sleep with a stranger—all in one day, felt like too much. I’ve seen dark romance tackle similar premises with more sensitivity and care. This one missed the mark for me.
I pushed through to 45% because I was curious how Cesare would be introduced, and I did enjoy his character. But overall, the pacing felt uneven and the dialogue stilted, with only Cesare’s lines reading naturally. The rest of the interactions felt disjointed, especially the back-and-forth between Ana and Anthony, which came off as immature.
The plot around the external threat to Ana didn’t feel urgent or well-developed, and I found myself disengaging quickly. I was especially frustrated by the birth control argument—it was disappointing to see Ana give in so easily (even if it was after Cesare explaining Anthony's reasoning to her) when she had initially stood her ground.
While I usually enjoy poly dynamics in romance, this story didn’t work for me. I may revisit it later out of curiosity about Cesare, but my discomfort with the setup overshadows any interest in how the story unfolds.

A different take on your typical Bodyguard, Fated Mate trope. Antony also known as the Devil of Chicago is a Mafia Don burdened with a family curse in which he is fated to marry a woman he sees in a vision once he comes of age. It doesn’t matter if the relationship results in friendship, passionate love or simply hate. In order to avoid the consequences of ignoring the curse of descending into madness it is imperative to marry your fated mate.
Lilliana is the one who is fated to be with Antony. Ripped away from her home, her family, her friends she is thrust into a marriage with a man 8 years her senior without any regards to her feelings.
Césare is the bodyguard responsible for keeping Lilliana safe. He is also Antony’s best friend and right-hand man. His job is to protect; he never meant to fall in love with Lilliana and especially not with Antony.
This trio’s love developed in different ways. While Antony and Lilliana’s relationship was thrust upon them; her relationship with Césare grew more organically because he wasn’t just her bodyguard but her friend. It was a matter of time before the 3 found themselves developing a deep love that was built on Love, Trust, Friendship, Mutual Respect and Acceptance.
Unfortunately, someone is trying their hardest to tear down everything the Devil of Chicago has built, and they are using multiple attempts on Lilliana’s life to get their message across. Will Antony and Césare figure out who the puppet master who is pulling all the strings is and why they are working overtime to destroy all that Antony holds dear?
Make no mistake Antony and Césare will do whatever it takes to hold onto their happiness and burn the world down to keep Lilliana safe no matter what.
This was a great start to a new series. I was really impressed with the whole Beauty and the Beast vibe. I love books that are loosely based on Disney stories. This book was fun to read. I really loved the curse aspect of the book. Antony's family has a curse on them. They dream of their soul mate. They have 5 years to find and marry them or they go mad. When Antony finally has his dream he never would have guessed that he would have to literally wait the 5 years to make her his. She was a young teenager and like the good man that he is he keeps her safe but also lets her grow up to be the woman she is. Once she graduates, he takes her. He is known as the devil but really he is just a big old softie. Antony has his best friend Caesar watch over his wife. They also become friends and start to form a bond. Even though they are both falling for each other they never cross the line until Antony agrees to share her. They all for a relationship with each other. They are all together as a couple but they also spend time with each other outside of all 3. They form a close bond. It is so sweet the way they love and protect Ana. They have a lot of ups and downs but through it all they find a way to navigate this new way of life. The author did a fantastic job with showing the different characters growth not only as individuals but also as different aspects of the coupling. I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us as this series goes on.
3.5 I wanted to love this book so much more, and I would have if it weren't for the FMC's age. She is 18, going on 19 as mentioned a few times. She is stolen from her family and may be wise beyond her years.... The mafia/gangster, mafia boss MMC, is plagued with a curse and has to find a wife to break the curse so as not to suffer consequences that would be irreversible. Right off the bat, his to-be wife is meant to consummate their marriage, and this is where the age threw me off. Because it plays into where the consent would be. And it is spicy. Had the FMC been older I think it would have played out better. Knowing it throughout the book just put a damper on it. To make something clear, age gap is usually one of my favourite tropes, given a reasonable age. But that's just my take. Maybe I am just too old now.. 😕 This had bisexuality, trauma, marriage, age gap, and bodyguard. I would have enjoyed this book a whole lot more because it is a good plot, and the story is there. 🤷♀️
Jenni Simonis's writing versatility has impressed me once again with my second read. This novel's vibe was distinctly different from “What the Heart Needs,” nevertheless, the skillful execution made it more compelling. Talk about a beautiful disaster of tropes - fated mates, family curses, forced proximity. Some of my favorite vibes, why pick just one? Being a newbie to a polyamorous novel, I was pleasantly surprised, stepping outside my comfort zone. Antony,a mafia boss who has a family curse has to marry the woman in his dreams, literally, or he'll go batty. Lilliana the girl who gets ripped from her life to marry the Devil of Chicago, now has to find her own footing and as things would have it, Ana know has a forbidden crush for the guy she's not supposed to love. Cesare, the bodyguard who is there to protect her, the boss's wife, and boy does she got it bad. Ana, Antony, and Cesares characters were expertly crafted, and I found myself genuinely invested. So with such stories comes a happy ending, Although, leaving room for more from this new found families beginnings.
*I received a copy of this book as an ARC. This review and thoughts are mine alone.*
Rating: 4.5⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Alright, first of all, this book started off rough for me. It almost seemed too easy for Ana to leave with Antony. I understand his position, but it seemed like her parents almost wanted her to go. She also gave herself up way too fast. So it lost a bit of a rating for that.
That being said, Cesare saved this for me. The relationship he builds with Lilliana, and the relationship that grows between him and Antony redeems a lot for me. With Ana it’s very organic, more traditional of a falling in love type story. However, with Antony, it’s more than that. They’ve been best friends, and has worked for Antony as his right hand man for years. They find themselves seeing each other in a different light, which is part of what i love in a Why Choose/ Awakening story.
This overall was a great read. I think a lot of the spice was almost cut off right before it got “good”, but i did find myself staying up way too late.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Review: Ménage with the Devil by Jenni Simonis
I really enjoyed this book! The story pulled me in right from the start with its mix of dark romance, power, and emotional depth. While the spice was definitely there — bold, intense, and unapologetic — it wasn’t quite as fiery as I expected given the title and warnings. Still, the scenes were written beautifully and fit the story rather than overpowering it.
What I loved most was how the relationships developed between the characters. The emotional layers, the trust, and the gradual unraveling of each person’s past made the darker moments feel even more meaningful. There’s danger, tension, and betrayal, but also genuine growth and connection.
Overall, Ménage with the Devil was a dark, captivating read with a balance of passion, plot, and emotion. It kept me turning pages, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next.
I love the way this author creates the characters. They are always so interesting and engaging. These characters are no different. I love Anthony, Lilliana, and Césare. I think out of the three main characters, Ana is my favorite. I’m a sucker for bookworm or nerdy characters. I was trying to guess who Gabriel was the entire book. It was just so entertaining. The love story between everyone was just so sweet. I highly recommend the book. I have loved everything I’ve read by this author and I can’t wait to read more.

Genre/Tropes ✨ why choose?, MF, MM, FMM, family curse, mafia romance, bodyguard romance, bisexual MCs, Beauty & The Beast retelling, bilingual/multilingual MCs, nicknames in Italian, found family
Halfway through I was ready for more books in this world. I adored how they came together despite the circumstances and how they grew individually and as a group. I loved *that* scene when the guys realized what it was for them, but even more loved how it became more. I was cussing the villain because I saw it coming, but not in a way that was a distraction from the story- but more like a oohhhh you are going to get it. I didn't see part of the twist coming and it broke my heart. Those guys have been through so much. I am secretly placing bets on who the bestie is going to have a HEA with and cannot wait to see more of the side characters develop. Oh and her parents are treasures that I wish more kids/ YA could turn to when they find themselves discovering new things about themselves.
This was my first experience reading Jenni Simonis, as I received an ARC copy of Menage with the Devil! I have to admit at first, I was a little apprehensive about how this story was going to go but gave it time and it was definitely worth it. Even though this is a Mafia book, it's not really your typical one. It does have all the makings; the mafia aspect is mainly in the background. Lilliana's character finally grew on me once I felt like she had grown up a little. Being a younger character, the author did a fantastic job showing Ana's character growth and development. I enjoyed watching Antony and Cesare grow as characters as well. Simonis hit on some great topics with this MMF book and I hope there are more to come from this series!
I received this book as an ARC copy in return for my honest opinion!
This is my second book I’ve read from Jenni Simonis and WOW! I’m impressed how versatile she is as a writer. Compared to The Perfect Addition, this novel had a whole different vibe but she rocked it!
I’ll admit, I’m not the type to read a spicy book with a thruple (I’m boring and prefer a more traditional romance) but this novel had me hooked and I honestly loved how different it was from my normal preferred read. Antony, Cesare, and Ana were all written so well and I honestly connected with all 3 different character arcs so well! 💕
I was fortunate enough to get an ARC copy of Menage with the devil by Jenni Simonis
Cesare is the bodyguard who's job it is to keep Lilliana safe.He is also Antony’s best friend, but he never meant to fall in love with Lilliana and especially not with Antony.
However their love developed in different ways. While Antony and Lilliana’s relationship was thrust upon them; the love developed more naturally between Lilliana and Cesare.
Although someone is trying their best to destroy the happiness they build by trying to kill her but the pair will do anything to protect her no matter the cost
This why choose /mmf mafia Romance was a great read well balanced with spice and plot
An Addictive, Twisty, and Unforgettable Why‑Choose Mafia Romance.
Ménage with the Devil by Jenni Simonis hooked me from page one -mafia danger, forced marriage tension, and a fated love triangle that burns slow but deep.
Antony, the feared Devil of Chicago, is forced into marriage with Lilliana Rossi, but loyalty and trust turn their dangerous union into something tender. Add in Césare, Antony’s best friend and Lilliana’s fierce protector, and you have a powerful why‑choose romance full of loyalty, betrayal, and heart‑stopping twists.
If you love forced marriage, family curse, bodyguard tension, bisexual awakening, found family in a gritty mafia world. This is your next binge read.
the fmc is lianna, Lianna. When the Devil of Chicago comes to take me as his bride, I know I should put up a fight. But the desire to submit to the devil’s whims is too strong to resist.which is why when Antony’s right hand, Césare Gallo, steps in to help, I know it’s only a matter of time before the fire between us burns us all to the ground or will we fall in ❤️
Great multi pov story of Lilliana, Antony and Césare. Starting with a vision of his Bride, Antony waits patiently till Lilliana is of age. He teaches her all about love and all the bits in between but to keep her safe his trusty bodyguard Césare is on hand. Césare teaches Lilliana the value of friendship. Fantastic story, Jenni....got me hooked.
While I enjoyed the story and plot the dialogue and writing didn’t quite hit for me. Some parts felt rushed and the climax just wasn’t my cup of tea. I guess I prefer my fictional mafia men a little rougher around the edges. Solid story either way but end of the line for me for this series.
While I was a little iffy on the age gap, I’m glad the author waited for the FMC to be of legal age before she was married off. The plot read smoothly and didn’t drag more than necessary. Loved that this turned into a MMF story also.
3.5 stars Thank you for gifting me this ARC. This book had a good storyline 👏🏾. I loved the mafia side of things. A gangster who is the head of a crime family is saddled with a curse. He must meet the woman he dreams about and marry her for the curse to be broken, otherwise he will experience some physical side effects. I didn't like the fact that the FMC was so young. Other than that, I enjoyed it. The mafia boss has not one but two dreams that help him to break the curse. Some of the themes present are forced marriage, bisexuality, mafia, violence, and trauma, just to name a few.

If you love a mafia, why choose, bisexual romance, then you need to read this book!
I absolutely loved this book. Antony Bernardi is cursed. He has a dream about his future wife, has to find her and marry her, or he will die. He finds his future wife only to discover that she is still a child. So, he waits for her. Comes back 4 years later, when she graduates high school, and forces her into marriage.
This book is so spicy! It's a MMF why choose with a bisexual awakening. Very much beauty and the beast vibes! I loved the story too. The whole book, someone is sending threats and they are trying to figure out who it is. So it keeps you intrigued trying to figure it out. However, I do feel like the end of this part of the story felt rushed. The book is mostly spice with the last few chapters of the book discussing the drama and tying it all in a neat little bow. I would have liked more action I guess since I felt like that is what it was building towards. With that being said, I would absolutely re-read and recommend this to others!!
