Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Queen Cleopatra in a modern PNR with Marc Antony as her enemy and Julius Caesar not exactly a friend... what a fun notion for a paranormal romance.
I had a good time with this one for probably the idea of it more than the actual story if that makes sense- though, the story isn't bad, either. I enjoy how this author turns myth and legend on its ear and crafts an original, steamy, humorous story. Not so much humor as her usual and a little of a love triangle, unrequited love thing going on that doesn't get too dramatic and fit the situation.
Cleo is queenly and she is a woman who manages to take everything that gets thrown at her and make a queendom out of it.
Quite a curious twist on the usual paranormal romances.
Super hot and steamy, this paranormal menage a trois is entertaining and a fresh take on Cleopatra in modern day vampire world. I listened to the audio version. Be warned: lots of sex verging on erotica level so headphones are probably your best choice.
I'm going to resolve that I'm just not clicking with this one. I'm kinda obsessive about anything to do with Egypt and it's ancient history. I used to have hopes and dreams in college of heading over and doing digs. I just didn't click with the characters. I liked Cleo much better when she was pretty much a serial killer in Anne Rice's book. She was sort of--well--bratty in this to me :-(
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! No one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! Okay I own this one in ebook, but I also have the audiobook because I won it.
So far, I really like anything I read or heard from Eve, but I haven’t read all that I own yet. Never enough time to read everything.
This was a really cool story! I love how you get a unique perspective of Egyptian history with a uniquely paranormal twist. I loved the characters, and how they interacted together. It is always awesome when a hero comes to the rescue, but that she can also rescue herself. I listened to the audiobook while I mowed that lawn. It is a great way to still be able to read so to speak when you can’t stop to read. The narrator was great, and the story was amazing. I can’t wait to read more of Eve’s books!
I highly recommend both the book and the audiobook to fans of history mixed with paranormal to make it uniquely awesome!
One former Egyptian queen plus two vampires equals a threesome with lots of bite.
I’ve paid my dues in Hell for my mistakes, but Satan thinks I’m too dangerous to keep around so he’s kicked me out into the modern world for a second chance.
Ambushed by a pest from my past, I’m rescued by a seriously hot vamp. I vowed to not allow men to use me anymore, a pledge forgotten with Michael’s first kiss. And when Julius, my first love, shows up bitter and angry, I can’t help but want him too.
Maybe I do deserve the nickname Whore Queen, for I’ve decided I shall keep them both—naked in bed.
Eve Langlais has done it again!! I loved this unique take on Cleopatra's story. Iv always been intrigued by the Egyptian queen and loved the paranormal element thrown in. Cleo is nothing but a survivor and has always been used by men. Either for her body, her money or her crown. I thought it was amazing that she still was determined to be independent this time around and not let a man dictate her life. For once she wanted to be with a man because she wanted to. When Cleo met Michael there was an instant attraction and connection there...on both sides. But trouble comes when she finds out that her first love Julius Caesar was not dead as she was led to believe but turned into a vampire. And also Michael's bestfriend/roomate.
Julius is wrongfully pissed at Cleo because she chose to run into Marc Anthony's arms when he "died". And I think Cleo handled herself well when confronted with all the ugliness Julius threw her way:
Julius finally found his tongue and Michael could only shake his head in resignation as his friend still refused to admit his mistakes. “You talk of using, and yet here you are with Michael, fucking him and then spending his money.” He didn't say it, but the innuendo was clear: like a whore. Cleo looked at Julius sadly as she moved to stand next to Michael, who tucked her trembling body tight to his side. “I thought I might finally make the choice of being with someone because he makes me smile. I'm not after power, or prestige, or even his money. I've had them all and they never helped me when I hurt or cried alone. I just want to live and laugh. Is that so much to ask for?”
Once Julius realizes how wrong he was about Cleo...he realizes that he's still in love with her. But now she's with Michael and he will never betray his best friend. But there's light at the end of that tunnel, since Michael agree's to share Cleo with him. All they have to do is convince her that its ok.
Then there's the twit, Marc Anthony! He's just a crazy, evil bastard with his heart set on destroying Cleo once and for all! But he has to get past her men first!
All in all, This was an awesome read. And Im really hopping there will be more adventures for these three???
Cleopatra gets kicked out of hell. Marc Antony is trying to kill her and will stop at nothing to find her. She is rescued by Michael. Even though she has vowed not to depend on or fall in love with any man, her attraction to Michael is strong and she's having trouble keeping that vow. I loved this book! It is different! It is fun!
Cleopatra’s Men was yet another hot exhibit of Langlais’s writing ability.
Cleopatra is alive and well in modern times, having been kicked out of hell for nearly forcing Lucifer to marry her, Cleopatra is now fending for herself in the real world once again. She is immortal, powerful and currently blonde.
But Cleo has made many enemies in her time, one of those being Antony, her ex, who has an annoying habit of continuously trying to kill her by sending demons her way. On her first night out, these demons attack her and things are looking bleak if not for Michael, the mysterious dark stranger who jumps from a building to save her.
Cleo is definitely my kind of chick, I would have preferred more actions behind her words though as she seemed to be playing damsel in distress too much, but for a quick, hot story like this, I didn’t really mind. Cleo was not only tough and sexy but she also had an added element of wit that kept the story light.
Michael was everything and more, sexy, powerful and a gentleman. Michael was everything Cleo wasn’t used to after being used for most of her life and although it made for some questioning on her part as to his intentions, it also made for some really hot sex and quite a few swoon moments.
Cleopatra’s Men was a quick hot dive into the world of a paranormal Ménage a trois with the addition of Julius Caesar, Cleo’s first love into the mix it made for some comical but very hot reading. I loved Cleo’s dissection of her feelings for each man and how she didn’t try to hide behind an equal love excuse for her actions.
The massive deux ex machina at the end did put a slight dampener on the rest of the story. It was expected, but I was hoping it wouldn’t happen.
Cleopatra’s Men was another excellent example of Langlais’s incredible writing and has left me wanting even more of her yet again.
I feel like the only one who hated this book. I got to about 50%, realized if I kept rolling my eyes, I would be picking them up off the floor, and skimmed the rest. The premise is interesting. The writing isn't bad. It just didn't grab me like some of hers have (luckily, it was free on Amazon)
Cleopatra has lived a long life and one of pain and suffering in some ways. After her death she bided her time in hell, until Lucifer kicks her out. Michael has been alone for a long time, women don’t intrigue him much anymore. However a chance encounter and saving Cleo has him hooked and intrigued.
This book hits you in the feels. There’s betrayal right along side love. And two guys, really how lucky can a girl get. Except things aren’t exactly as they seem. I loved Cleo, a woman who shows strength in the face of heartbreak, fear or love. Michael and Cleo are a perfect match, and add in Jules you’ve got a wonderful trio.
I like the characters and the story, but I didn't like how it was a couple, and then they had this other guy they kept around for sex. It wasn't really a menage but was more than an extra, because there were some feelings there, but they were secondary. I wanted a real menage, with all three people invested, or a couple who was kinky sometimes. This was something those and it didn't feel right to me
This is one of the worst books to ever curse my consciousness. The writing was incredibly lazy. Characters had little to no substance, the spice was non descriptive and boring, and the plot was basically nothing. They meet, bang, go to a party, then she gets kidnapped and they have a threesome after. Save yourself some time and don’t read this.
Regal, notorious and righteously independent and Goddess of all who possess high amounts testosterone; one of my favorite ancient heroines Cleopatra Queen of the Nile. Cleopatra awakens the spirit of strength, control and intelligence that is so sexy. Warmly wrapped in the history of Ancient Egypt carries the charisma and boldness that drives home the point of women ruling the world. Ms. Langlais gives Cleopatra an energetic persona that makes her admirable in my opinion. Although Cleopatra's Men is a work of fiction; a tremendous use of one's imagination and sensational seduction I acquired a new appreciation for Cleopatra and her wisdom. In this sinfully entertaining story Ms Langlais deals with current societal issues that were very prevalent thousands of years ago and I loved the way Cleo deals with those concerns and I shouted bravado as she directs her sassy firepower.
In Cleopatra's Men Ms. Langlais creates an audacious woman with so much vigor that she gets kicked out of Hell. Whoa! Cleopatra is off the chain. Definitely a woman after my heart!! It is hard to fathom having enough power to frighten Lucifer to the point that he feels he must get you the heck out of his domain before you take completely over. This kind of brassiness pulled me into the story and I latched on to Cleo's strength like a leech. I loved how Ms. Langlais made Cleo so realistic with ramrod strength most women can appreciate. Cleo possesses an aptitude for ruling and commanding unspoken loyalty.
In Cleopatra's Men Ms Langlais wields her mighty writing sword to take the reader through history, incorporating humor, adventures and heart thumping passion. Ms Langlais intelligently develops her main character, Cleopatra, using the historical background along with a wonderfully wild futuristic imagination to bring Cleo beyond the 21st century.
Ms Langlais characterizes Cleo's men as sexy, strong, passionate; they may cause you to get caught up in the rapture of love and all that is sinfully erotic just as they did Cleo. Her characters claimed my heart and the plot rattled all of my adventurous, erotic curiosities as she blends love, lust, paranormal intrigue into the story.
Michael: champion of all that is kind, gentle, protective and a masterfully makes a woman feel like a superstar; loving Cleo better than anyone else. Julius: loyal but in pain due to mind games, an over-comer, very likable with his flaws making him so understandable. Marc Anthony: a power hungry, mean-spirited force of evil.
The secondary characters in the story provides critical support for the main characters, plot and to the delightful conclusion. I found myself often giddy with excitement as I enjoyed the conflicts and resolutions and the manner in which Ms. Langlais spun the dialogue of Cleo, Lucifer, Michael and Marc Anthony. The depicted settings throughout Cleopatra's Men stimulate all of your sensory receptors. The connection between the characters, plot, setting makes Cleopatra's Men an enjoyable read and I recommend it to readers who enjoy paranormal elements, hotter than Hades sexiness nicely seasoned with humor and wittiness. Even if you live in Limbo Cleopatra's Men will heat you up with its sparks of red-hot seductions between the the men who loved and lusted after Cleo. Cleopatra's Men may make you ultra-sensitive to things that electrify, snap, crackle and pop sexual energy that dreams are made of from the kisses to caresses.Reading Cleopatra's Men put a smile on my face, tickled my soul. There is plenty of excitement embedded in Cleopatra's Men to satisfy most appetites.
Eve Langlais = hot, sexy & fluffy fun. I particularly adore her Welcome to Hell & Princess of Hell series. While this is not a book in that particular series, I rightly assumed that old Lu would make a cameo appearance, & that sealed the (book) deal for me;-P
More than 2000 years ago, queen Cleopatra was sent to Hell to atone for her sins. Scrubbing toilets isn't exactly her idea of a good, regal time. Luckily, the souls in Hell are just as easily smitten as mortal men, and soon she is, once again, a force to be reckoned with, even down below. When the adoring masses decide they want her as their queen, Lucifer promptly kicks her out, stating she is to dangerous to be allowed to live in his domain.
Ex queen Cleo fids herself in modern day America, broke and alone. To add insult to injury she is also hunted by one of her old lovers, Marc Anthony, but is rescued by a sexy man who turns out to be both a fallen angel and a vampire, with a sinfully smexy physique. And his best friend? Why, queen Cleos first lover, Julius Caesar of course. Why have one when you can have two?
If you're looking for a hot, lighthearted menage a trois, this just might be the book for you. You're almost guaranteed to have a good time.
Wow that was one scorching hot book Eve sure dose have a way with words I love her books. If you haven't read any get this one then she has other series that are equally thrilling and hot if you want MRE Lucifer try her welcome to hell series you'll love them. Now a little about this book but not to much no spoilers from me.
Cleopatra paid her dues in Hell for her mistakes, but Satan kicked her out into the modern world for a second chance. Unfortunately for her one evil and vengful soul is waiting for her with a hord of demons, but she is rescued by a dark knight, a vampire with whom she feels an instant connection with michael, who sees past her reputation to the woman. Michael seduces her. Loves her. It should spell happily ever after until Julius shows up. But hes not so nice at first, but eventuly sees the air of his assumptions. Cleopatra, one of the best know women of history, has a whole other story to tell. After killing her self to get away from the Romans, she goes to hell. But in Hell, she learns a few things. She pays for her sins but also continues her legacy of one of the greatest leader ever known. So much so, the devil kicks her out. A second chance at life brings back old dangers and new love to the Queen of the Nile.
This is a story you can really pull you in. Eve brings together the Cleopatra and gives her a story that is hard to put down. Vampires, werewolves, demons and more await. Action, comedy, romance and some sexy vampires bring together a great book. I am a huge fan of Eve and she never disappoints. Thanks Eve for another great story.
What happens when the most powerful queen history has ever seen is kicked out of hell? Pair her up with a smoking hot fallen angel, a long lost ex-lover turned vamp and...WOW! You'll have to read this to see. I absolutley loved Cleopatra's Men! Eve Langlais' books are guaranteed to get you hot and bothered, but she really out did herself with this one.
I loved that this isn't just a sexy erotic love story, there was a morale to this is a story! We got to see Cleo learn to love herelf and her men, fangs and all. I just loved Cleo she was one bad mofo! Strong yet vulnerable, but true to herself and if you dont like it, well...you can go to hell. Literally! I highly recommend Cleopatra's Men, can't wait to read more from Ms. Langlais.
4.5 Stars for this smokin' hawt read!! It snagged me with the blurb of Cleo getting kicked out of Hell because Satan was afraid she was taking over, and then with the added bonus of her ex lover Marc Antony out to kill her and 2 smexxy lovers in the form of vamps kept me reading well past my bedtime. I really loved this one....just had some questions at the end that I wanted answered and really hoping the author continues this story! Would recommend this read to those how enjoy a hawt ménage story with a touch of the paranormal!
Holy sexiness! Talk about a history lesson and sexy romance all at once? Join Cleopatra, men from her past and one dark, mysterious vampire! This is one erotic amazing story that will keep you squirming while you enjoy it! "I'd rather screw a zombie with a decaying dick. Her insult hit the mark." I love her sass! It doesn't matter what crap she's gone through in her life and after life, this woman has balls and she's not afraid! This book will keep you smiling, laughing and enjoying the story page after page! I actually wished the story hadn't ended!
This isn't one of Ms. Langlais's better novellas, in my opinion. The premise was neat, in a crack-fanfiction-for-the-whole-Cleopatra-story kinda way. Still, it was a hot, fun, and quick read. I just wish she'd get picked up by a decent editor. Also, the ebook formatting was horrible, and I do count that against my overall grading, especially from an author/publisher who seems to specialize in primarily ebooks.
The novella is fun to read. The plot is nice, although as usual I have questions that need to be answered, like who makes the deal with Marc Anthony in the climax scene? Why Cleopatra become a goddess? Michael is really hot guy, who don't want to fall in love with him? But Julius is kinda the loser in this story, the odd man out. This story gives a new light on what really Cleopatra is and shows that history is not what always is.
Very good. I am always curious to know more about Cleopatra and old Egypt and although this book doesn't even come close to the real story I still enjoyed it very much. The romance between Michael and Cleo was sizzling and sudden but oh so interesting...add Julius Caesar and I was sold. It is very well written, fun and the plot is interesting. I do pity it for being small but alas I cannot have everything.

One former Egyptian queen plus two vampires equals a threesome with lots of bite. The hotness is just getting started. Are you ready for a hot, and yes I mean sizzling, read? Cleopatra’s Men was yet another hot exhibit of Langlais’s writing ability. Eve Langlais' books are guaranteed to get you hot and bothered.
Thanks for repeating the words I say so often, though not as Pharaoh Hatchepsut.
Thank you for repeating the same things I say, Clepatra was no who're queen. She slept, according to history with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. If that is s hat it takes to make sure who're then the royals of the British monarchy are way worse. LOL.
Cleopatra, once The Queen Of The Nile, has reappeared on Earth, she is set upon by enemies in an alley. So starts this Menage tale of the famed Egyptian. No longer having a country to rule. The woman now is single and ready to start a new life. It was a fun and enlightening read. I can't wait for another book!
I have been a fan for awhile now and enjoyed her writing. I love historical fiction but admit a touch disappointment with Cleo and Julius. A clean break would have been better.
Cleopatra has returned.Cast out of shell, she meets the vampire slash angle Michael. Then who shows up but Julious Ceasar Her first love. Mark Anthony is the bad guy in this story. Loved the story, and as usual Eve's writing. You won't be disappointed.
