But romance will have to wait, because his hotel is being haunted by a ghost so dangerous that Alice’s whole coven must step in. Turns out, a supernatural event is unfolding that’s bigger than any of them ever imagined—and it’s about to blow the secrets of Shaddow House wide open. I couldn't wait to start this third book of the Starfall Point trilogy. I picked it up at the bookstore yesterday and finished it today. The tale of the third witch of the Starfall coven, Alice Seastairs. I had to wonder how Harper was going to approach Alice, who was raised by cold, uncaring grandparents and was used by them as cheap labour to fund their lives. Everyone on the island feels sympathy for Alice, but no one did anything for her until Riley Denton came to town.

I was surprised by Alice's secrets and I could finally understand her feeling of being off kilter within the coven. I thought that giving her this unfortunate backstory of poor choices was a good device. Alice is not the only one to have a history of poor decisions. Collin Bancroft has returned to the island, having purchased the Duchess Hotel. Although Collin has no need to work, he wants to return the Duchess to its former glory. Once he meets Alice, he wants her too. But he must face his past if they are going to find happiness.

Theoretically, now that each woman's romance has been established, the series should be done. Certainly everyone seems squared away. However, the very last paragraph indicates to me that Harper isn't done with Starfall Point just yet. I have to say that I'm glad about that, because I'm willing to read another story set in this witchy community.

Story 4 stars. Narration 5 stars
This was the final book of the three in this series. The three main characters are witches on an island in the middle of Lake Huron. It’s the kind of place that closes up by necessity for the winter due to ice and snow. The three have formed a coven and try to help ghosts find their way or find out who killed them and why. Also, figure out what object they are each attached to. All of these books have a new romance for each of the witches. This was Alice’s turn. She meets Colin who has just bought a huge old hotel on the island. He grew up spending summers at the hotel, but has never met Alice due to her grandparents not letting her do much except work at their antique shop. He immediately is charmed by her and for her part she feels a zing go through her unlike anything she’s ever felt before. There’s also ghost drama taking place on the island and of course the witches get involved. I enjoyed the characters as usual and even the ghosts that hang out in the haunted mansion one of the witches lives in. The ghost butler was such a fun addition to all of the books.
The author says this is the final book and then leaves it wide open for a whole new book in the end. A whole new ghost. I’m hoping she revisits these witches in some way or even a new series that is hinted at. I can hope!
Narration by Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton was perfect as usual. Recommended!

Listen, I’m a massive Molly Harper fan, and am probably going to be bias in any and all of my reviews of her work. That being said, I absolutely loved “Never Been Witched” (total shock, I know).

Admittedly, I didn’t *love* Alice in the first two books. Not that I disliked her, however, I just didn’t connect with her as much as Riley and Caroline. This meant I cam into “Never Been Witched” excited because I love the world of Starfall Point, but a little less enthused that Alice was the main character. OH HOW WRONG I WAS.

I loved this book, as mentioned previously. I loved Alice’s growth, the exploration of female relationships, the exploration of what family really means (both blood family and the family you choose), the ways platonic and romantic relationships develop, UGH I JUST LOVED IT ALL OK?

Alice underwent a major transformation, as a character, and really came into her own - as did Collin. I loved the parallels between their stories, while also being starkly different characters/people, from very different backgrounds. There were a lot of complicated relationships for Alice to work through, and the way Molly Harper built that framework, and then masterfully navigated? Ugh, *chef’s kiss,* brilliant.

One thing I really love about Harper’s writing is that there is plot, there’s drama, things “go wrong,” but it’s never drawn out unnecessarily. Some authors fall into the trap of trying to make things too exciting, and they get stuck in the convoluted drama they create. Harper is too masterful to fall for that. Her pacing and ability to create tension and conflict for her characters, but to keep the story moving towards meaningful resolution should be lauded from the rooftops. As a reader, I want to feel the feelings of the characters, have the anxiety of “will this get resolved???,” and be on the edge of my seat, but I don’t want to drown in it and lose the plot. That never happens in Harper’s books. They are always purposeful, paced well, and perfect (the 3 P’s!).

I really can’t believe this was the end of the trilogy. I want to keep returning to Starfall Point (maybe with the new sea-witch series????), over and over again. I want to see what happens to Josh and Mina, I want to watch the relationships grow and mature, I want to know what happens to Shadow House (AND THE GHOST BEHIND THE RED LOCK - THAT ENDING??? COME ON!), all of it. I want to know all of it. AND THAT ENDING. Talk about a cliff hanger. If you read this book, then you KNOW what I’m talking about. AND PLOVER’S CHAPTER. Utterly destroyed me. This is the perfect fall/Halloween read. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE read it. The audiobook narrators, Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton are truly brilliant.

Cute wrap up to the star fall trilogy. Listened to all of these on audible and the narration was 5 stars. The voices of the ghosts made them my fave characters. It did feel like a good 1/3 of the storyline was just recap of the last two books which felt excessive.

I have been anxiously waiting for Alice's story since I started the Starfall Point series, and Never Been Witched did not disappoint! Alice and Collin are swoon-worthy and the amount of plot points coming together across the series into this book was absolutely perfect. Molly Harper writes the books that scratch the itch my brain desperately needs-they're romantic, fun and just spooky enough while never taking themselves too seriously-they are so easy to enjoy and relate to that they are a fast read (eyes OR ears-the narration is excellent as well if audiobooks are your thing!). I both listened to this and read it with my gifted copy, it was that good that I needed to have it available in all forms. The paperbacks are GORGEOUS and this one officially releases on August 12 (but is available on Audible now!). I did find it very easy to switch back and forth between audio and paperback depending on what I had the ability to read, which I really loved. And that ending…what are you doing to me Molly??

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Thank you to the publisher for an early copy in exchange for my honest review (even though it’s past publication)

This book was hilarious! I was actually laughing at so many parts because the banter and antics of the characters were so funny. I loved them all!

This is the third book in the series but I was able to read it as a standalone without issue.

I really enjoyed the plot and it reminded me a lot of Harry Potter & the horcruxes he has to destroy. I think that made me better understand what was happening because it was a similar idea to that. The ghosts were freaking hilarious and added so much personality to the story!

The character growth of both Alice and Collin was fantastic! I felt like I could relate to the characters they were working through some stuff and learning how to stand up for themselves, making them seem more human.

And the way the book ended makes me think there’s another one in the making and I hope I’m right! I would love to spend more time in Starfall Point and with this cast of characters, especially Plover!

So happy I waited to read the series till the final book came out! What perfect way to wrap up the trilogy.
The humor and action had been kicked up, and I loved it.
Alice has become a little baddy and finally found her voice. I love seeing her fall in love while standing up to all the jerks in her life. We find out what the mysterious blob ghost is and the secret to the locks.

This is the third year I’ve had one of these adorable witchy romances to listen to on my commute in October. This series is just like an apple brown sugar latte, perfectly fall and cozy. Cheesy, and a little predictable in the best way, I look forward to them every year

I've read other books from Molly and it's always fun, so I jumped into this one without reading the synopsis.

I liked Alice and Collin. They're both really good people looking to belong. There's a huge cast of characters in this story and while they were fun, they were (and remained) strangers.

Plot wise, it was okay. This story definitely felt like the continuation of a series and I thought it was more of a companion type book. There were a lot of moving pieces and no real history was repeated; I was expected to know what was going on.

Overall, the characters were a lot of fun and I enjoyed reading the relationship evolve the way it did. Might just have to go back to read the previous books to make sense of this one.

**Huge thanks to the publisher for providing the arc free of charge**

Never Been Witched ended up being my favorite installment in the series so far. Collin and Alice were such a great pairing. Their chemistry was sweet and instantly engaging. I loved the twists involving both of their families; they added depth, tension, and just the right amount of emotional punch without ever weighing the story down.

I went into this thinking it would be the final book in the series, but Harper leaves things surprisingly open-ended… so maybe we’re not done with this magical little world after all. Either way, this one was a delight from start to finish.

Arc Review !!

Tropes: witches/ghosts, small-town, mystery with a dash of murder, slight romance

Such a cute read with witchy magic and a ghost-filled mystery with a dash of murder. I ate this book up so fast and it has honestly set the pace for more paranormal books in my future. I didn't realize this was the third book in the series when I first requested and while I was missing some character context, it didn't really hinder my reading experience.

Thank you NetGalley for the e-ARC!

Enjoying the end of the Never Been Witched series. I wasn’t sure about Alice as a main character but her growth changed my mind. Alice’s weakness really annoyed me and I hated how her grandparents treated her. Her low self esteem also annoyed me. I’m glad she finally found her voice.

A meh conclusion to the series. The author wasn't good with characterization. It's difficult to differentiate between the female MCs and the male MCs. The magic was much too simplified, just a wallpaper really. The final reveal at the end was more ridiculous than believable.

3.5 rounded down to a 3.

This book took me longer than normal to read for a couple reasons—life got busy, and I tend to juggle multiple books at once. While I did enjoy this one, some of the others I was reading were just easier to get through.

Never Been Witched is the final installment of the Starfall Point witch series—or at least, that’s what I thought going in. The epilogue does leave the door open for a potential follow-up, so we’ll see.

This book centers on coven member Alice Seastairs and island newcomer Collin Bancroft. Alice lost her parents young and was raised by her grandparents, who are, quite frankly, awful people. She’s lived on the island her whole life but has been isolated by her family’s strict rules and the responsibility of running their antiques shop. That’s where she meets Collin, who’s looking for pieces to restore The Duchess, a historic hotel his family once owned.

Collin comes from money but doesn’t act like it—he’s kind, grounded, and unafraid to get his hands dirty. He’s also protective of Alice in the best way. Though he has his flaws (including a frustrating “ignore her to avoid drama” move that predictably backfires), he’s a genuinely good match for her.

Alice, meanwhile, has been keeping secrets from the coven—most notably, her past with Clark Graves, the man working with the Wellings to get revenge on Riley Denton (head of the coven). Her secrecy creates cracks in her magic, weakening the coven’s psychic link. Having grown up without a consistent example of love or forgiveness, Alice worries that once the coven learns the truth, they’ll never forgive her. But with Collin’s support, she finally finds her strength—standing up to her grandparents, quitting the shop, and realizing her walls might actually be a source of power.

One of my favorite aspects here was how well the found family dynamic came through. Each coven member—and even their partners—has complicated family baggage, but they always show up for one another. That sense of unconditional support and forgiveness was really sweet to see, especially as Alice finally lets her guard down.

As for the story itself, a few moments didn’t quite land for me. The pacing around the “final lock” felt rushed—I didn’t realize we’d even reached it until it was suddenly resolved. Some plot turns caught me off guard in ways that felt more confusing than shocking. And the timeline around the ownership of The Duchess never felt fully clear.

That said, I still enjoyed this as a festive and cozy close to the Starfall Point series. It wrapped up many of the emotional arcs, gave each coven member their moment, and left just enough magic in the air to make me wish for more.

This is one of those crazy reviews that I truly do not think people will understand unless they have already read and enjoyed the other books in this (or her many other) series. What does that mean exactly? Well, let's just say that Ms. Harper has a very unique and eclectic sense of humor and for those of us who do get her sense of humor, well, it's as funny as heck.

This is the third book in this series and she is continuing with her pattern of releasing the books on audio first, before they are release in print. At first, I wasn't sure what I thought about that because I am one of those weird readers that likes to alternate between reading and listening. BUT....this series is SO unique that it is truly best experienced through listening, and I have come to think that Ms. Harper was actually a literal genius when she made that decision.

This is the third book that takes place on an island in the northeast called Starfall Point. Over the first two books, we have learned quite a lot about this island, specifically about a certain house on this island (no spoilers) that has QUITE the history. In the first two books, we got to meet and follow the first two of the trio of women that are drawn to the house and are trying to uncover what the actual heck is going on. We have- as of yet - only been given snippets of Alice Seastairs and her life, and boy oh boy have we felt sorry for her.

Alice is living a life on the island dominated by her absolutely crazy grandparents - who own one of the antique/second hand stores on the island. And this, boys and girls, is HER story.

So, we are thrown back onto the island, we learn lots and lots more about the history of, well, lots of things, and of course....Alice is part of a love story as well.

All in all, if you love Molly Harper, you will love this book. Amanda Ronconi and Teddy Hamilton are the narrating duo for this story and since Ms. Ronconi has practically been with this author since the VERY beginning, you already know it is going to be great. And, for those of us who enjoy the romance genre, Teddy Hamilton is practically narrating royalty, so...again....it's a total win.

While this could PROBABLY be read as a stand alone, I wouldn't do it. There is so much back story and so much FUN in the back story and the characters. I mean, truly, where else can you find a very uppity but extremely lovable ghost butler....??? Seriously.

So, go and find book 1 and go from there. You won't be disappointed.

3.75⭐️ - Never Been Witched, and all of Starfall Point, is the perfect cozy, witchy & ghosty book for spooky season. This books follows Alice Seastairs and Collin Bancroft. Alice is a witch who hasn’t yet figured out her powers and her place in the coven. She’s also grappling with secrets she has been keeping. Collin has moved back to the island to reinvent the family hotel. Alice helps him with finding antique pieces for the redecoration of the hotel and Collin ends up being around when witchy stuff starts to happen.

I really enjoyed Collin and Alice’s story. Not only did they grow in their relationship with each other, but they also both grew as individuals and really came into their own. My favorite characters in this series are Mina, Josh, and Plover, and I loved how much they were featured in this book. I only gave this book a 3.75 because it wasn’t my favorite of the two I’ve read (Big Witch Energy) and the magical elements could be confusing at times (although that could be because I started reading this series at book 2 and still need to go back and read book 1). Overall, I definitely recommend this book & series to anyone who wants a cozy romance with a witchy mystery.

I read this book before the others because I wasn’t aware it was part of a trilogy lol. I’m so glad I listened to it though.

This book was cute, emotional, entertaining, and I could not stop listening/reading. I listened to the audiobook and read the physical book at the same time for an immersive experience and I’m so glad I did. I found their little group amazing. I really enjoyed their friendship and how they had each other‘s backs. I can totally understand if someone begins feeling like the third wheel and pulling away. I feel like we have all been there at one point or another. However, this group of friends rallied and really made sure that our FMC knew she was loved.

The MMC was great even if I got annoyed with him a time or two. However, he was dealing with a lot of lived trauma so it is no surprise that he struggled with toxic relationships. Our FMC also had a difficult childhood into adult life. With her struggling to feel loved for who she was and feelings of inadequacy, it was great seeing her start to believe in herself.

The narrators did an amazing job with this one. I felt like the voices were spot on, the emotions came across perfectly, and the pacing was natural.

Now to go back and read the others lol.

🧙🏻‍♀️👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼
REVIEW
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼🧙🏻‍♀️
THINGS I LIKED
1. The FMC was okay, and I admired her wealth of knowledge.
2. The MMC was okay, and I liked what he was doing with the Diamond Hotel
3. The Witch coven and Shaddow house
4. The hint of mystery. It was nice
🧙🏻‍♀️👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE
1. Both the MCs were kinda immature when dealing with important situations, Alice with her grandparents; Collin with Paige. Like, just deal with it already!
2. I liked the MCs separately, but I didn't really feel relationship vibes between them.
3. The chapters were too long, and the book too. It would have been better with fewer pages
👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏼🧙🏻‍♀️
The book was okay. I liked some parts. It's a part of a series, but I wasn't confused.

While I don’t think this was the best witchy book I’ve read, it was a lot of fun! I like that we got to see the conclusion (I mean I think? The ending had me scratching my head a bit) of the coven’s adventures finding the locks. I was surprised a few times, and I appreciated that the mystery component kept me guessing. Because there was so much going on in this story, I felt the romance really took a backseat. The relationship between Collin and Alice was so fast to me, and I didn’t believe too much in their resolutions. It came down to the pacing of their relationship and the speed they moved at while dealing with the ghosts and locks. There wasn’t enough balance there for me, but overall still a fun fall read. I would recommend, especially if you’ve read the rest of the Starfall Point series.

This book ends the trilogy set on Shadow Island with a bang. While we see a lot of the characters from previous books, this one features Alice, the third of the witches and Collin, the new owner of a hotel on the island. We get to see very quickly who the insider is that was hinted at the end of the last book. We also get to meet Alice’s absolutely hideous grandparents, who get what they deserve. Definitely one of the highlights is the introduction of an evil hamster late in the book. The epilogue, from Plover’s point of view (Plover is the ghost butler at Shadow House) is rather sweet (although there is definitely a hint of upcoming danger). I’ll miss the series and am going to check out another by the author soon.

3.5 rounding up.

Just finished listening to the 3rd instalment in the series and enjoyed this one as well.

It is the conclusion to the series.

Found family, great cast of characters, Plover is the father figure ghost we all need in life.

Our FMC Alice is strong but full of self-doubt, a result of her abhorrent grandparents that raised her. But she is a kind, generous, and intelligent person

Our MMC Colin is from a well-off family recent coming back to Starfall Island to takeover the old family hotel he recently bought. He’s driven, business savvy, and kind.

Another enjoyable listen!

I've tried other books by Molly Harper and have come to realize that I just don't 100% vibe with her writing style. It's too descriptive for my taste, leaving too little for the imagination, both in terms of characters and the world. The love interest, Collin, seemed like different people, depending on whether we were in his POV or Alice's, which felt weird.
I don't want to explicitly dissuade anyone from giving this a shot, since my gripes are primarily a matter of taste, but this wasn't for me.

The final book in the Starfall Point was by far my favorite! It had better chemistry, action, storyline, than the first two books combined. I liked Riley and Caroline’s stories, but they lacked the depth that Alice had. Which is funny because in the first two books Alice was a flat, meek, character-less character. But Molly Harper did a fantastic job of really fleshing Alice out. I feel like we got more Denton/Welling story in this book as well.
My ONLY gripe with this trilogy was that there were so many opportunities to expand on the magic, the house, the rival families, the romance! But overall I give the series a 4/5 stars. I did enjoy the story, it kept me intrigued all the way to the (possibly not?) end.
