I Do! Do I?

Rate this book
Kasturi Shukla is all set to marry the man of her dreams. Time to stop doing silly things and start living happily ever after, right? Well, then maybe someone should tell Kasturi that.

This irrepressibly irreverent and not-quite-beaming bride-to-be fumbles through a messy engagement and in a moment of indecision, steps across a line that she should never have been near. To make things worse, her best friends are now nauseatingly mushy star-crossed lovers, her future mother-in-law thinks the kitchen-phobic Kasturi is a fabulous cook, her colleague Padma hates her for no reason, her boss wants medical intervention for her imaginary deafness and her mother has become a cyber-celebrity. This was not the way things were meant to go.

Smart, hilarious and utterly unpredictable, I do! do I? will have you at the edge of your seat-unless youve already fallen off it laughing.

a confused young women....cancels her marriage...re-values her decision of marriage...thinking of whether to walk ahead with her long lost love which can be restarted again...or to trust in the on going calm relationship and marriage alliance.
It is not choosing between guys...between a cheated boy friend who still holds a place in heart and the eligible guy ready for marriage....it is about letting go off the first love and risking life with a new relation which eventually proves to be the best thing to happen ever!
Introspect wants and needs and trust the instincts....it is okay to slow down once in a while and re-think about it...than to proceed ahead along the celebrations around.

Not good as last one.

Timeline is not coherent. Kasturi Birthday is on 2 of April but entries of 15 February mentioned it after two days. Also entries of 7 march mentioned it after 4 hours.
Could not understand why mom's blog was a hit if it's followers were decreasing with the time period initially it was around 600 later 435 and finally 1500.

It was not as happening and engaging than "Ineligible Bachelors". Few of the characters were not properly introduced also no whereabout of other friend of Kasturi from her previous job.

I Do! Do I comes after Ruchita Misra's The (In) Eligible Bachelors and characters we love and die laughing with, Pitaji is back. The madness gets bigger with over-complicated love and as it's natural to compare with I DO! DO I, I feel that at some point, the tale slows down and narration lacks the X-factor. But, it's a love story and Ruchita is back at her best, though it was published in 2014. The main character Kasturi is sparkling and gets like a madhouse on fire with her accomplices right from Pita Ji, Anu and the love in her life Purva. The hate-love relationship with Padma at the office makes for a hilarious tale with the boss, believing she has an ear dysfunction. The climax is simply breathtaking in true Ruchita style with something that goes on like that, two girls running away in a big fat and Indian wedding and Oye Teri one guy running away with two girls. Absolute laugh riot. Four out of five making it a blockbuster read.

The book was on my shelf for very long time. I had recommended this to my wife after reading "In-Eligible Bachelors". I eventually picked it to read. While not as great as previous one, it definitely retains the charm, loveliness, surprise-moments and romance part. I somehow couldn't fully engross in story however it has its lovely moments. Author has really put great efforts. It was a quick read.

Umm...okay I really like Ruchita's writing style and her stories. The last one I read was 'Second Chance At Love', which I loved. I loved 'Someone To Love' but I can't say this about 'I Do, Do I'. I enjoyed reading it, well, mostly, but there are several things I found unnecessary and a little rushed.

Absolutely brilliant. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down.. Apparently this was a continuation of her previous book The (In) Eligible Bachelors and even though I had not read it I still I fell in love with calm Purva and firecracker Kas from the get go and their friends Amay aka PitaJi and Anu . All the characters in the story were very interesting and complemented the story so beautifully. I guess you didn't have to read the previous book to follow the story of this book Infact I purchased the previous books after reading this one so I could read how all this roller coaster ride really started and how Purva and Kas met. The storyline and plot when it started though seemed very ordinary but as I started reading it became more and more interesting and darn witty and hilarious. By the time I ended the story I had a huge grin on my face. A must read for a relaxing weekend to get your re energized your mind back for weekdays. Having read mostly serious books written by Ruchira and this one was a surprise..She didn't disappoint me either with a witty sense of humor ..looking forward to what she comes up with next a serious plot or a witty story.

For those of you who haven’t read the first part, well let me first introduce the characters. Kasturi Shukla finally found her eligible bachelor in The (In)Eligible Bachelor and is all set to marry him. As every other bride to be, she has a lot of doubts about her life after the wedding and in a moment of indecision, steps across a line that she should never have been near. To make things worse, her two best friends are now nauseatingly mushy star-crossed lovers with a very filmy twist in their love story, her future mother-in-law thinks the kitchen-phobic Kasturi is a fabulous cook, her colleague Padma hates her for no reason, her boss wants medical intervention for her imaginary deafness and her mother has become a cyber-celebrity. So basically she is going crazy and has no clue what to do with all these problems.

Now as I mentioned before, I wasn’t really impressed by the first book but I have to say I found the narration in this part to be...Read Review: http://www.coml13.com/index.php/2015/...

I am not sure how to rate this book... At times I liked , at times I didn't like... I didn't like it because Kasturi is so much like me, who goofs up everything, messes up things royally, takes things very lightly in wrong time & very seriously again at wrong time... I liked because Purva is so much like my husband - caring, loving and more important tolerating me exactly the way Purva tolerates Kasturi :D

I loved these 3 quotes from book
1) while people cannot be perfect, relationships can be perfect.
2) Have arguments with the aim of solving the problem, not for the sake of having an argument
3) Simple words, because they are simple, find it easiest to reach the soul...

There are times when I was emotional while reading this book - especially when kas's dad was hospitalized, there are times when I LOL - when Kasturi runs with Anu...

On the whole, a book to read when you want to read something really light

Born and brought up on a staple diet of non-Indian romance novels, Indian stories have never truly appealed to me in terms of content, narration and language...UNTIL NOW!

I have rarely come across such an ENTERTAINING read before... (Wait! Happened once before...Her previous novel - The (in) Eligible Bachelors was another spectacular piece of non-fiction)

A truly WORLD-CLASS Indian romance! Story that will keep you engrossed till the very last page, tug at your heartstrings, make you LAUGH, CRY and then LAUGH some more, make you fall in love all over again and then stay with you forever (If you buy the hardcover, I meant :P). LOVE has never been this FASCINATING!

You get the gist. Not a moment to lose! Grab a copy and experience this adorable story today.

Superb , excellent and very in sync with the prequel. The story just moves forward from where it had been stopped. Has the same intensity and captures the attention of the readers well.

She’s done good justice to the book. Again all the characters are well etched and we would all relate to the story at some point. Premarriage Jitters and confusion of whether marrying the right person is something all girls and guys of today would relate to. I love the way the topic is handled with sensitivity and humor. For once, you won’t hate Kasturi, even if she’s the one breaking hearts.

I totally loved the book and the characters. It's a light and funny read that had me fall in love with it's various characters. I couldn't put it down till I finished it. The book is mostly funny, with some sentimental moments that make you deeply feel for the characters. The protagonist, Kasturi Shukla, is a little bit of what every girl is and has you just adore her. The way Ruchita adds humor to some of the everyday, ordinary things is amazing. I am already waiting to read more from the author.

Plot is pretty loose, if you are not very engrossed in the book, you may find your attention drifting towards other things. Twists are predictable, not much of a surprise element. Quite fun at times, but not exactly what the cover promises...

Funny, refreshing and full on tamasha. That's what the story is all about. It's silly, mushy and at times hilarious. I had tears in my eyes from all the laughing. It's a mad story! I loved it... For attempting to be a light breezy read, it absolutely works!!
