She swore she'd never fall for him...but the super-hot cowboy is her new boss.
An enemies to lovers, close proximity, small town cowboy romance in the best-selling Wild Men series by USA Today bestselling author Melissa Belle.
I’m a cowboy through and through. My rodeo days may be over, but I live for the ranch.
I don’t have time for relationships. Or for romance.
Then she shows up in a torn wedding gown and covered in mud. She asks me for a few things that night, but the one I turn her down on is the one I can’t stop picturing.
Then she ends up working for me. And my simple cowboy life becomes sweet torture.
Can a runaway bride who pushes all my buttons have been the right woman all along?
USA Today Bestselling author Melissa Belle writes about smart, sassy women and the hot, sexy men who want them. She spent years in the field of psychology before writing her first novel on the train in Europe. She often works through her story ideas while hiking with her husband or hanging out with her two kitties. She loves road trips and songwriting. And cupcakes.
Luke is a former bronc rider, it wasn't a life he wanted to give up but was forced to give up. He hasn't dealt with everything that has happened wanting everything to stay in the past, but that changes when the past comes to him. And then begins his journey to healing.
Sophia, nerves that's what she felt on the day she was going to get married. But not the good kind of nerves, and one message later she's saving her self from making a bad decision.
She finds herself on the Wild Ranch, and the person who finds her is Luke, her enemy. But she soon realises he isn't the person she thinks he is and soon she's falling.
This was my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed certain parts of it, sadly I couldn't connect with the female lead and I also skimmed some of her chapters.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Luke and Sophia. I have to admit this was my first Melissa Belle book and it did not disappoint. I need to go back and read the first eight books about the Wild family. This one was so good that you are going to be hooked and not lay it down until you are finished reading it. It is the story of two broken people. One a cowboy with a ranch and the other a bride with a ripped dress and mud all over her. These two both have demons that they are battling and they just somehow fit with each other whether they wanted to or not. There is a lot of fighting their attraction to each other since she ends up working on the ranch. But that was half the fun of reading this book. They have some great banter with each other and I am a sucker for some great banter. If two people have ever deserved a HEA it is Luke and Sophia and you are going to have so much fun reading theirs.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Sophia & and Luke Wild. Sophia has always dreamed of having a man waiting for her at the end of an aisle waiting just for her. When that day finally comes she looks at her best friend and maid of honor and just knows there is something off. When she learns that not only is he not the man she though he was but he has been cheating on her. So she does what many other jilted women she runs away from her own wedding and straight to Luke Wild's ranch. Luke has been dealing with a lot lately. Finding a woman dripping wet from the rain and in a wedding dress is not what he thought would be happening next. When he finds out what Sophia is going through he knows he is going to help not only her but himself as well. Can these two find a HEA or will past hurts make a future impossible?
Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
"Desperate times call for... in my case, very stupid measures."
Imagine it's your wedding day 👰 The excitement, the anticipation You are about to commit to the one man-made just for you, the man you will share your HEA with Only right before the big moment, you find out you are not his one and only 😦 What's a girl to do? Run
This had a few of my favorite tropes. All brought together in a heart-melting romance that was hard to put down. There was the brooding cowboy with a painful past The witty jilted bride running from more than just her wedding day The ex who would make great pig feed - gave me a case of the icks The mother who took patience A past that needed to be reconciled And a family that stood together through thick and thin
"The Truth," she says, "Is that all I keep wondering is: What's Luke Wild like in the dark?" Love this line
This was a slow-burn, high-heat romance that truly leaves a mark on its reader. I came into the series with Luke's book, but I will be going back to read the rest. They are interconnected standalones
This is my first book from Melissa and it ticked so many boxes for me. I honestly struggled to put it down, and if I didn’t have to adult I definitely would have read it in one sitting. From the opening chapter, I was invested - because what a way to start a story!! And from then on it just kept getting better. Luke & Sophia are both battling demons and they try so hard to fight their attraction to one another. But I enjoyed not only how that was a losing battle but that they also deserved what they found in each other. I really enjoy family saga series, and even though I am so far behind in the Wild family books, this one does definitely read as a stand-alone. But I am also determined to now read them all.
This is the 9th book in this impressive series, and this is Luke and Sophia’s story. Luke’s rodeo days are behind him, and he is focused on his ranch, which leaves him no time for relationships or love. Sophia is a runaway bride, covered in mud, and she arrives at the ranch, where she ends up working for Luke. Sophia knows how to push Luke’s buttons, and they complement each other perfectly. This is a well written emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, action, meddling mother, tension, close proximity, humor, witty banter, healing, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, small town cowboy romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Luke is the ninth book in the Wild Men series. I have read and also purchased several books in this series before so I was looking forward to reading the story about a runaway bride and a cowboy with a few issues. Sophia is all ready to walk down the aisle when she discovers her fiance has been cheating on her. What is a girl to do but run and get far away, even if you are still wearing your wedding dress. She runs into Luke who allows her to stay at a cabin and work on the ranch to pay her way. These two sizzle from the get-go and you just know you are in for a story that will involve more drama, a lot of passion, sizzling chemistry, family craziness, and romance tied up with a sweet and sassy HEA.
My first time reading this author, but I plan to go back and read this series from the beginning. I was pulled in immediately, the characters are interesting, and the story held my attention. A great escape read.
Everything I am looking for in a story, witty banter, meddling family, and a somewhat unpredictable story. Sophia is our runaway bride, and Luke is the owner of the ranch she arrives at. Both have pasts that haunt them, are fighting the newfound attraction to each other; maybe they can heal together. The chemistry sizzles, she knows how to push his buttons!
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
She swore she'd never fall for him...but the super-hot cowboy is her new boss.
Luke is living life after the rodeo on his ranch, accompanied by his demons. Sophia is running from what was supposed to be her happily ever after, but actually wasn't.
Their attraction is sizzling, and their banter is entertaining. They take us on an emotional journey through family, friends, healing, small-town life, close quarters, and love.

I got sucked into this story in the first three pages, and read it in one night, I could not put it down. The tension between these two sizzles. A runaway bride, a manipulative mother that needs help, and a cowboy who faces his fear eye to eye. I love the depth of the characters and how much the family continues to intertwine and grow. A wonderful series to fall in love with.

Fantastic book, always enjoy this Wild family and how involved they all get. Liked this enemies to lovers trope, as these characters had great chemistry, with some moments had me giggling nonstop. Enjoyed how each had baggage, but they fit together perfectly.

4.5 ⭐️’s…I love the Wild family and this journey did not disappoint. Luke and Sophia have an enemies to lovers relationship with hidden feelings that will keep you laughing and bring you to tears juggling issues that neither wants the other to know. Grab this all of the feels journey and enjoy!
Heartbreaker meets heartwarming and leaves behind irresistible. Belle celebrates the underdog with tempting results. From emotional to funny, Luke dares to be unforgettable. At the end of this wild ride you can't help but fall in love.
Loved the mix of a cowboy and sports romance. Almost stayed up all night reading the book, but fell asleep sitting up. Lol Great characters and loved all the drama, banter the feels and romance. Another fantastic addition to a fabulous series. On to the next book please. Happy reading
I really enjoyed this continuation the series. There is so much more to Luke below the surface and Sophia was just perfect for him as he was for her. Loved these two!
A great enemies to lovers, cowboy romance. These two have to navigate working together while having a spark when they are together. I loved the back and forth. Really good book.
This was my first Melissa Belle book and it won't be my last. Such a cute book and I loved the characters. If you are looking for a cute cowboy romance with some spicy, this is the book for you.
Sophia is running away from her wedding when she ends up on Luke's ranch looking for a temporary job and a place to stay. Despite disliking him for his past actions Sophia propositions him right away even though she just broke up with her cheating fiance. There's attraction between them but he fights it at first. Rescuing the bronco that took him out of the rodeo, her alcoholic mother, and her manipulative ex adds to their stress. There is a lot of unnecessary swearing in this steamy enemies to lovers romance.
