Theo

Making my first billion? Easy. Surviving Sadie―and her three-year-old―moving in? Torture. She’s my best friend’s little sister― the one girl I swore was untouchable. Especially after that one reckless kiss seven years ago. The kiss that ruined everything.

But now she’s here. Under my roof. Haunting every inch of my space, every thought in my head. She’s vulnerable. Off-limits. And so beautiful it hurts. I swore I’d keep my distance. Protect her. But every time she laughs, every time her fingers brush mine―I’m forgetting why I ever said no.

Sadie

I ran to Theo for safety, but the moment I walked through his door, I knew I wasn’t just in danger from my ex―I was in danger of falling again. He thinks he’s protecting me, keeping his distance. But every smouldering look says otherwise.

And every night, I wonder: what if I kissed him again? He thinks he’s just helping. But he doesn’t see how he’s rewiring my heart―how my daughter already adores him. I’m supposed to be surviving, not falling. But I know what I want…him. His hands. His mouth. His body. Even if it’s the one thing he swore I couldn’t have…

This story has so much going for it, it is witty, fun, sensual, moving and emotional as Rachael Stewart takes the reader on a journey to a HEA that is filled with hurdles to cross, forbidden love, best friend’s sister and also takes in domestic abuse and it is done in such a caring way, I loved this one so much.

Sadie finds herself and her three year old daughter Lotte in need of help and returns to her sister Taylor back in London, she needs a safe place to get her life back and when her sister asks Theo Tanner to take them in for the summer, Sadie is torn you see Theo is the one person she ran from all those years ago after kiss-gate happened and now she and Lotte are living with Theo in his penthouse. Being this close to Theo is opening up so many feelings from her past but Theo is determined to keep them safe from her ex and keeping his distance but the looks her gives her just make her blood rush to parts of her body and warm her up.

When Theo is asked by his best friend, Taylor to help he of course will but having Sadie and Lotte in his life is going to open up a whole new world for him a part of his past that he has keep behind walls for seven years, he must keep her safe and she is off-limits but how long can he deny his feelings for her?

This story was hard to put down I loved Sadie so much the strength and courage she showed was amazing and what can I say about toddler Lotte she is adorable and such a true three year old and Theo OMG what a hero, man I want him, this is a fabulous romance that filled my heart with joy there were many happy tears at the end, I do highly recommend this one and can’t wait for book two. Thank you MS Stewart for another keeper.

My thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for my copy to read and review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5 stars)

Filthy Rich Temptation by Rachael Stewart was a captivating read. Her writing flowed so smoothly that I found myself easily absorbed into the story. The relationship building between the characters was beautifully done, and the secret longing and temptation between them was captured perfectly, making their chemistry feel authentic and believable.

While I enjoyed the read overall, there were a few parts that didn’t fully hit the mark for me, keeping it at 3.5 stars instead of higher. Still, it’s a strong romance with plenty of tension, emotion, and passion that fans of the genre will no doubt enjoy.

There is a saying, be careful when wishing for a knight in shining armour as you may end up with a tw*t in tinfoil. Well I can promise you that Sadie left the latter and ended up with the former.
After escaping an abusive relationship she ends up in the home of Theo her old crush. A workaholic and used to a house of order, his life is about to be upended by the girl he never got over and her daughter Lottie, who only has to smile and he becomes putty in her hands.

I loved these three with all of my being and this was so close to perfect. My only reservation was I wanted more of the ending, I could easily have read another hundred pages. I will however probably have to retract that when the next book is released as I'm sure their story will continue to be mentioned. I can't tell you how excited I am for the next book too.

But as his gaze travels up my body, there’s nothing imagined about the way I react – every inch of skin tingling, breath catching.
Then his eyes land on my mouth and -
Fuck.
That look. Dark. Raw. Possessive. Like he wants to taste me. Like he’s imagining it now...remembering, even.

Should I read in order?
I think this stands alone?

Basic plot:
Theo has Sadie stay at his place while she gets on her feet after escaping an abusive ex – though the feelings from years ago still linger...

Give this a try if you want:
- contemporary romance
- London setting
- second chance
- roommates
- single mother heroine
- billionaire hero
- sister’s friend
- age gap – he’s older by 12 years
- he wears glasses
- medium steam – 3 full scenes and a shorter scene

Ages:
- she’s 25, I think he’s 12 years older than her, so about 37 for him

First line:
Something wakes me.

My thoughts:
I was a bit disappointed in this book! Because what I loved was SO good, I felt like this could have been a top favorite for me. But I was irritated with so much of the focus being on the heroine’s ex and kept waiting for more romance to happen.

There was some good tension building but I was hoping for way more spice – with the title. The scenes we got were good and I loved them (though one was like….super short like a paragraph or two) but I wanted more. I was expecting more I guess. And while the tension was there I also would have liked more build up – waiting for that passion to explode. But I felt like the in between was filled instead with scenes of her child, her fear of her ex, and flashbacks.

In a second chance I can really like flashbacks but I felt a lot of the flashbacks here were kind of...unneeded? Like give me a good one establishing their history...that’s all I need. Or a first kiss or something. Which we got but we also got more and I just wanted to get back to present day.

So I’m a bit conflicted. But there was still a lot I really liked here. I would definitely try this author again!

2.5 stars. This story read like a suspense, but the edges were very softened by romance.. The romance was also very straight forward, and in terms of intimacy, I would describe this as a cozy novel. It’s somewhat at odds with the cover.

so many tropes here, age gap, billionaire, second chance, best friend's sister, single mom, close proximity. Theo is 12 years older than Sadie, who is escaping her abusive ex at his apartment thanks to her sister's instigated insistence. Theo and Sadie shared a kiss 7 years ago and it changed them both. Theo turned her down then and she was devastated. Sadie's sister didn't know when she suggested Sadie stay with Theo while her ex could be taken into custody. living together helps Sadie regain her confidence and old feelings come roaring back. luckily they're isn't too much miscommunication in this story.

3.5⭐️ 2.5🌶️

This book is short, sweet, and delicious! I liked the suspense element at the end, but felt it was a bit anticlimactic. Wish it had more of a “touch her and unalive” moment.

Sadie and Theo are both down bad for each other, they don’t even know how to move forward. They had their first kiss 7 years ago, and with a 12 year age gap and Sadie being his best friends little sister and barely 18, he of course panicked and then she ran. Now she is out of an abusive relationship and a 25 year old single mom and their spark never faded. After weeks of trying the keep it platonic, Sadie has had enough and decides she is going after what she wants! Lottie was the sweetest little girl I love her connection with Uncle Feo, turned Daddy.

Easy and entertaining! Filthy Rich Temptation is a very quick read. You don't really have time to get bored!! I always love a best friend's sibling trope, even more so when our MC's have some kind of history together! I enjoyed Theo and how caring he was. I wish we had a bit more from him and his story though. I feel like there was a bit too much focus on Lottie and not enough on Theo, but that's on personal preference.

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion 🫶🏽

Filthy Rich Temptation is romance trope heaven! Billionaire, second chance, forbidden romance and I was definitely here for it! Theo and Sadie’s chemistry shines and with the best kind of tension, add in her adorable kid and it’s a chefs kiss on a platter. A little predictable in places, but still an irresistible, emotional, and spicy read so we can definitely look past that.

This story was such an enjoyable read and though it covers some tough topics it was done in a very relateable and caring way.

I love the softy that Theo melts into. This broody bachelors life was turned upside down and though at first he was a bit grumpy he really stepped up for Sadie and Lottie. He provided them a safe place to land when their world fell apart and became a man that Sadie could trust. He stood beside her and held her up so that Sadie could become the fierce woman she was meant to be.

I loved so many things about this book but most of all I loved the friendship that we saw grow between Theo and Sadie and the friendship that Theo has with Axel and Taylor. I can’t wait for what’s next and I highly recommend this book!

4 ½ Stars bumped up to 5 because Theo made my heart burst (and he had green eyes, yes, I am that shallow!)

Well, what can I say...really, what do I say when all I can think of is flashing green eyes and well-formed arses (well, one very well-shaped pert arse!) how am I supposed to string a legible sentence together when I have him running through my mind?!

“ I trap my bottom lip between my teeth as I stare-hungry, enraptured.

‘You need to stop looking at me like that,’ he growls, hands stilling.

‘Like what?’

‘Like you want to eat me’.”

Grrrr….she’s not alone!😏

Theo, HOT, HOT, SCORCHING HOT!!🔥🔥🔥

Yes, I did have to shout that, I am not usually one to go crazy for billionaire’s but there is something about Theo that makes a woman go a little crazy. Sexy, sinful, sensual, seductive...hmm, ran out of words beginning with ‘S’ ...let's just finish that thought with HOT, shall we?!🔥

But, he’s not just a fantastic, rippled body with a very nice butt (I’m obsessed!), there is also a caring, deeply passionate (very passionate!!), protective, generous man behind the twinkly, saucy, gorgeous green eyes (oh, lord, I could sink into those eyes and happily never resurface!).

“ He growls it out, his green eyes as hot as his body pressing into mine.”

Oh, my lordy, lord, if he wasn’t delectable enough, Rachael Stewart had to kill me by giving him bleeding green eyes and now boom….I’m a goner!

Libido in overdrive, my overactive imagination has gone a little crazy. It’s definitely time to go and sit in the fridge and think of something very un-Theo and unsexy, like I don’t know...a melon, yup, I’m safe with melons.....

Melons that are round and firm like Theo’s pert backside, green eyes twinkling, low rumbling growls…..

Shite, I’m a goner!!

“I think my ovaries just imploded…”

Right, focus, time to act like an adult and not a simpering, dazzled, sighing, groaning, lusty idiot!😜

OK, I was initially a little unsure whether this book was going to be for me or not, though I adore Rachael Stewart’s work. I love how her stories can wrap themselves around you like a comforting hug, but I am not a big fan of first-person narrative.

I don’t know what it is about first-person stories, but for some unexplained reason, I can’t even explain to myself, but I do have a real issue with first-person. Oh, I can read them well enough, but I can’t always connect with the characters or the stores, again, no idea why my odd brain doesn’t work in the same way as others. Yet, the only author who writes in first person whose books I will read is Rachael Stewart. I have spoken about this before, but her writing is so engaging and immersive that I forget that I’m even reading a first-person story.

Which is easily the proof of what a chuffing brilliant author she is!

I have to say that I love the direction in which Rachael’s writing is going with this one; it feels not just incredibly grown up, but there is a darkness and edginess to it that I really enjoyed. I loved that slipped amongst the drama and deep emotion which infuses each page, there is a tension that bubbles beneath the surface, one which comes from not just love and lust, but a tension which comes from fear and trauma.

This is a beautiful story full of second chances, survival and hope, learning to trust as much as allowing your heart to open, and that is exactly what Sadie must learn; she isn’t a wilting wallflower, but she is traumatised. Sadie has been through absolute hell and back; her abusive past with her (insert swearword here) ex is handled with absolute compassion and care.

Sadie is the younger sister of Theo’s best friend, Taylor, who, after hearing Sadie and her cutey-ie daughter, Lotte, are in need of help, asks good old Theo to help put her up at his penthouse to keep her safe until Sadie finds her feet again. Simple, right? Nope, both Sadie and Theo are a little conflicted by the arrangement, as seven years earlier they shared an earth-shattering, life-changing kiss which stoked the fires.

Not that either of them acted on it, oh no, they each ran and decided to try and forget what happened between them (not likely), so when they are reunited, they both struggle with their complicated emotions for the other, the air crackles with lustful (very lustful) chemistry and tension.

Sadie has to learn how to trust again, but it’s beautiful watching her confidence grow, and Theo is a gem. He’s patient and protective; he never rushes Sadie, and despite her and Lottie completely taking over his apartment, he’s generous with his time and tolerant of the upheaval that a three-year-old brings to his life. You have to love a man who is thrown out of his comfort zone and rises to the challenge.

This is saucy, seductive and thoroughly sensual and has so much emotional heart. I loved the intricately layered story of love and survival. I thoroughly enjoyed it, though Theo may have just ruined me for other heroes. Though saying that, Axel will probably ruthlessly shove Theo out of the way. That inked up stallion needs to be let loose….and I can’t wait for the ride!! 😜

Can one kiss in the past that changed everything, be forgotten?

Sadie has been in love with Theo ever since she met him. But Theo being best friends with Sadie’s sister, complicated things. Yet seven years ago, Sadie kissed him, changing everything between them, and not for the better. Now Sadie is looking for shelter and protection after an abusive relationship. And staying at Theo’s place is the only option for her and her little girl. Even if Sadie is still haunted by what she has been through, and Theo keeping his distance, the fire he once used to ignite in her, is simpering back to life. But Sadie is not ready to open up for another man again, especially not the man that already broke her heart once… However, how long can they resist each other and how long until the walls fall down?

I have read several of this author’s book, and even if you would think the ending would be predictable, isn’t it journey that matters and not the result? And this book for sure was a heck of a great journey!

I have to admit, I kinda know what it felt like for Sadie, being in love with a friend of your sibling. While in my personal case, it was more of an innocent infatuation, I could relate with Sadie, seeing that person, knowing that perhaps nothing could ever come from it.

And it made sense to me, how a Sadie made a choice, a decision to move from him, and get away with a man that claims to love her. In retrospect it is obviously the wrong decision, but I could understand why Sadie went away.

However, it truly broke my heart to see in what state Sadie returned back home… From what we have seen from her past, it is obvious that she was a spirited young woman, enjoying her life. And yet the Sadie that returned is a courageous one, able to step away from the abuse, but just an empty shell compared to the past Sadie.

Of course Sadie is wary of everyone and every sound, wouldn’t you be if you were her? I cannot understand how people can treat others the way her ex did. How on earth is that not only anything but love, but why get a kick out of that power? Getting to know more about Sadie and what she has been through, made my blood boil!

The only silver lining that came out of the relationship, is sweet little Lottie. This little girl is in my opinion the ray of light in this book, for everyone. She gives Sadie the strength to get out of the relationship and built a new life again, but Lottie is also the one that melts Theo’s heart.

Theo is the perfect example of a workaholic. And sure, it paid off as he is a wealthy man now. But just like in his apartment, it is all blank. His life is work, and he has no room for anything else.

Now, don’t get me wrong, he isn’t a selfish man, or a bad man, he is just focused on his job. The fact that (perhaps even reluctantly at first), he opens his home for Sadie and Lottie, shows his compassion and care. And in a way, I also believe that he would do the same even if Sadie wasn’t his best friend’s little sister…

The fact that there is some ‘history’ between them, something that they never spoke about ever again, just adds an extra layer of discomfort between Sadie and Theo, but much more fun for the readers. I was eager to know if it would ever be addressed again, and how things would evolve between them.

It felt like the story of Sadie and Theo was some kind of quid pro quo. Sadie finds a safe place to stay, and with Theo’s help, gets over her fears and finds the strength and courage to step outside in the light again (literally and figuratively speaking). Meanwhile, Theo gets not only to understand that there is more to life than just work. He learns that chaos can be a beautiful thing, that allowing feelings, emotions and love in your life is life – altering.

Obviously there are several struggles in this book to overcome. There is the fact that Sadie and Theo are having or developing feelings that perhaps they shouldn’t have, as Theo is best friends with Sadie’s sister. There is the serious matter of abusive relationships and the fear it inflicts. There is the matter of a strained relationship between siblings. There is wariness about everything and everyone.

However, there are so many good things that are taking place in this book. There is of course a lot of strength and courage, there is a lot of care and love, there is protectiveness and care. And there is the matter of what we would do for love. Love for a child, love for a sibling, love for a friend, love for the person we truly love.

Rachael Stewart put so much in this story, showing us the ugliness of people, but most important, the resilience of people, the strength of people, the strength of love too. As usual with Rachael Stewart’s books, I just devoured so easily, that at the end I even regretted reaching the end so quickly!

Filthy Rich Temptation is Rachael Stewart’s latest steamy romance and the first in her new series Filthy Rich Billionaires. It’s an angsty forced proximity, forbidden romance between a billionaire and his best friend’s little sister. The chapters alternate between Theo and Sadie’s POV, and the story contains profanity and sex scenes.

Theo Tanner is a self-made billionaire who grew up poor. His best friends since age 14 are Taylor and Axel. Taylor’s father was an alcoholic, and she pretty much raised her much younger sister, Sadie. Theo became a trader, investing his friends’ hard-earned money and working around the clock to amass a fortune. He lives alone in a loft apartment until Taylor asks him to house her sister and niece for the summer while they flee an abusive situation.

Mercedes “Sadie” is 25-year-old and the mother of a three-year-old daughter, Lottie. She has fled from her abusive husband, Danny, and their home in Ireland. She resents being labeled as “baby sister” by Taylor and her friends, especially Theo. When she was 18, she had a big crush on Theo and was supportive when his beloved father passed away. One night she kissed him, and he responded, then pushed her away. Soon after, she went off to beauty school and turned to Danny.

Sadie and Theo are very attracted to one another, but Theo fights his feelings because of the age gap and his friendship with Taylor. Part of the reason that Sadie and Lottie are staying with Theo is so he can physically protect them from Danny if he comes after them. Sadie is afraid to go outdoors with Lottie because of Danny, so Lottie has a lot of toddler energy and makes a mess of Theo’s penthouse. Theo really bonds with her when he takes them on outings. After a few weeks, Sadie makes her move on Theo and he succumbs to her charms.

Filthy Rich Temptation is an escapist angsty romance that contains some realistic elements. While Lottie is an adorable three-year-old, the descriptions of potty training and caring for her are spot-on. A big plot hole is that Taylor and Axel are also billionaires, and Axel is a security professional. With all of that money and business connections, they could hide Sadie and Lottie anywhere in the world and provide them with round-the-clock security.

Filthy Rich Temptation is far more emotional than the author’s previous book that was part of The Karma Club series. While the story contains profanity and sex scenes, there are only references made to Danny’s abuse of Sadie. Although the story is set in London, it’s very understandable for American readers. There are definitely hints of a possible romance between Taylor and Axel, so I’m looking forward to the next installment of this series.

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Boldwood Books for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

FILTHY RICH TEMPTATION by RACHEL STEWART ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.2/5

Filthy Rich Temptation is the first book in a trilogy.

Escaping an unhealthy relationship and despite her unrequited feelings for her sister’s best friend, Sadie finds herself living with him.
She has nowhere else to go, nowhere to keep her daughter safe, except to run to the man who spurned her advances seven years ago. Estranged from her sister, Sadie is determined to give herself a few weeks staying with Theo, using the time to recoup, find her feet, and restart her life.

Theo cannot deny his strong attraction to single mum Sadie, but not only does he work with her sister but she’s just getting over an abusive relationship, not to mention the twelve year age gap and her three year old daughter - all reasons to keep himself away from her. Following a failed relationship of his own, Theo likes his space, his perfectly ordered life, his tidy house. There’s no room in his life for the chaos a relationship with Sadie, let alone her daughter Lottie would reign down on him.

As the pair start to spend more time together together however, so their feelings grow and their relationship changes……

—————————

*** Please be aware this book contains strong mention of (off page) emotional and physical abuse ***

This was my first book by this author and I very much enjoyed it. Both of the main characters are relatable and the slow build up of their relationship believable.
Sadie’s recovery from her abusive ex with Theo’s help is compassionate and powerfully written as she goes from downtrodden and timid to strong, assured and assertive, able to reclaim her life. Whilst any abuse is only referred to, the reader can comprehend how deeply it affected Sadie and how her previous encounter with Theo and her childhood led her down that path.
Theo’s character is so kind, caring and thoughtful. I loved his interactions with Lottie and I felt like their relationship was the perfect foil to what could be an incredibly heavy subject matter. He was so obsessed with how his actions would be viewed by others that he let that affect his decisions. Lottie’s character is just a ray of sunshine!! I think the ‘Billionaire’ side of the story was pretty superfluous .
At around 250 pages long I found this story to be an easy read with good editing. I did think that the cover may lead readers to think that this is a fluffy read and it’s really not so I hope it won’t put people off giving this book a try.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege of being able to read this book. I really appreciate it!

Rachel Stewart has done it again with a truly fantastic new romance! This is the second book of hers that I have read where one of her main characters has been subjected to trauma they didn't deserve. I really hope that it's not from personal experience, that she can write about these situations like she does (they're not vivid or on page but they are alluded to) because she does a fantastic job of representing what those situations can do and feel like. This book was a fantastic romance but an even more fantastic book to remind you of your strength period no matter what you might go through, but also to remind you of strength and resources for when you need to leave should that apply to you. Well also being a fantastic reminder of warning signs to look for in those you love and ways to try and help if that might be the case.

Theo and Sadie's story was incredible! Yes it has spice, but my gosh do they have a true relationship! This occurs rather quickly based on the timeline, but these two have known each other and been each other's rocks since they were younger. Getting to read the dual pov and see how they both originally fell in love with the other and all of their thoughts was everything! Rachel Stewart rocks the very deep and personal thoughts and moments for both of them! I also really loved their individual growths. Well they grow together neither exactly grow because the other made them but because the other was there and believed in the other enough to stand by them and support the other in everyway they actually needed! It was beautiful! Don't get me started on Lottie either! She was the perfect example of a 3 year old and I love the references to the authors nephew! Princess toast got me! I laughed so hard at that scene! So many other too, but that scene will live rent free in your mind as the turning point where you can't image these 3 not becoming and being a family! You're going to have your heart broken and mended so many times in this story, but that ending will be the absolute one to steal your breathe away!

Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart again for allowing me that absolute privilege of being able to read this story! I really appreciate it! It was everything I thought it would be and so much more and I really loved it!

Feel the heat with this scorching billionaire romance from one of the brightest stars of contemporary romance – Rachael Stewart.

Theo can have any woman he wants – except one. His best friend’s little sister Sadie is strictly off-limits even if she’s the only woman who has ever managed to get under his skin. Seven years ago, the two of them had shared a passionate kiss that had upended their entire world and ruined everything. With far too much to lose, Theo had vowed to keep his feelings for Sadie under lock and key and to give her as wide a berth as possible. But that’s going to be far easier said than done when Sadie and her child find themselves in danger and in need of a place to stay. Keeping Sadie at arm’s length when she’s living under his roof is going to be a temptation Theo isn’t sure he can resist…

With her daughter to protect and her ex determined to do whatever it takes to put her in harm’s way, Sadie was desperate. The only person who could keep her and her child safe is the one man she can never fall for: her brother’s best friend, Theo. However, it doesn’t take long for passions to ignite and for never forgotten feelings to resurface with a vengeance.

Forbidden fruit has never tasted so sweet for Theo and Sadie, but is a future out of the question for the two of them? Or will love find a way to bind them together for the rest of their lives?

Rachael Stewart’s Filthy Rich Temptation is an addictive scorcher that effortlessly blends intense romance, sizzling sensuality and heart-tugging emotion. Sassy, sexy and scintillating, Filthy Rich Temptation is a delectable tale of forbidden desires, illicit passions and impossible attraction with a delightful heroine and a hero who will make every reader swoon!

An enjoyable contemporary romance from a writer who never disappoints, Filthy Rich Temptation is the latest must-read page-turner by Rachael Stewart.

Billionaire romance isn’t usually my go to especially in today’s climate, but Rachael Stewart absolutely is, and when I saw this ARC pop up on Boldwood, I didn’t even hesitate to hit request. And wow, am I glad I did. Because Filthy Rich Temptation is so much more than your average broody billionaire falls for the girl story.

This book has layers with a little spice, a whole lot of heart, and an adorable toddler named Lottie who completely stole the spotlight (seriously, she deserves her own spin off). Sadie Stone’s journey is raw and moving: she’s a single mom, a survivor, and a woman slowly rediscovering her strength after an abusive relationship. Watching her heal while fiercely protecting her daughter had me rooting for her every step of the way.

Enter Theo: the brooding billionaire who’s supposed to be off limits (best friend’s little sister, hello trope heaven). He’s the kind of character who frustrates you one minute and melts you the next, especially in his tender moments with Sadie and Lottie. Their forced proximity turns into so much tension, delicious banter, and eventually a love story that feels both earned and deeply healing.

What I love about Rachael Stewart’s writing is her ability to balance heavy themes with warmth, humor, and a great romance. She doesn’t brush over Sadie’s trauma, but she also gives space to breathe with lighter moments, some laughter, and that magical kind of chemistry that makes this worth reading.

This is emotional, spicy, empowering, and ultimately heartwarming, and Filthy Rich Temptation is proof that Rachael Stewart can do it all.

✨ Forced proximity
✨ Best friend’s little sister
✨ Broody billionaire with a soft heart
✨ Healing + hope at the core

Highly recommend if you like your romance with substance, sweetness, and a healthy dose of glitter courtesy of an adorable three year old.

Thank you to NetGalley, Rachael Stewart, and Boldwood Books for the eARC of this book.

This sizzling, emotionally charged romance delivers exactly what it promises: angst, heat, and the kind of forbidden tension that keeps you flipping pages long past bedtime. Theo and Sadie’s story is a perfect storm of unresolved chemistry, complicated history, and forced proximity that turns every shared moment into a slow-burn tease. The billionaire angle adds glamour without overshadowing the raw vulnerability at the heart of their connection, and the best-friend’s-little-sister trope is executed with just the right blend of nostalgia and danger.
Theo is a standout hero—powerful, contained, and completely undone by the woman he’s spent years convincing himself he can’t have. Watching his carefully controlled world unravel as Sadie and her daughter fill his home is a delight. His internal struggle between loyalty, desire, and protectiveness adds a rich emotional layer that elevates the story beyond standard trope fare. Sadie is equally compelling: resilient, tender, and undeniably drawn to the man she once believed she had to forget. Her journey from fear to hope gives the romance weight, and seeing her regain her confidence is as satisfying as the smouldering chemistry between her and Theo.
The tension between them is electric from the first chapter, and the author excels at weaving longing into every look, every almost-touch, every moment they try—and fail—to keep their distance. The presence of Sadie’s young daughter adds warmth and heart, creating scenes that are as sweet as they are swoony. By the time the inevitable lines are crossed, it feels both forbidden and utterly inevitable, making the payoff deliciously rewarding.
If you like stories full of yearning, protective heroes, and heroines discovering their strength, this one is definitely worth the read.

When Sadie takes her daughter and leaves an abusive boyfriend, her older sister (Taylor) convinces her to stay with Theo since she refuses to stay with her. The boyfriend hasn't been caught yet and Taylor just wants to know that they are safe so she trusts her best friend to watch out for them. Of course, Taylor doesn't know that Sadie kissed Theo 7 years ago and he turned her down. She had just turned 18 and he was 30. Neither of them have forgotten that kiss. Sadie knows she needs to concentrate on her daughter and get back on her feet so she can be out on her own again by the end of the summer. Theo knows he needs to keep Sadie safe and bring her light back, not take advantage of her while she's recovering.

I was introduced to Rachael Stewart over the summer in the Karma Club series and LOVED her installment so I jumped at the chance to get another ARC from her. It is a really easy read with well developed characters. The abuse is mentioned throughout but doesn't go into graphic details. Lottie, Sadie's daughter, is so cute and I love the relationship that Theo develops with her. The chemistry between Sadie and Theo is hot and I am so glad that the story wasn't full of cliches. There were several times when I just KNEW what was going to happen next and was pleasantly surprised when either something else happened or when their lives just went on. There wasn't a ridiculously overblown dramatic moment of communication disconnect - I could fully believe that a trigger point was hit and some anger that the other person didn't necessarily deserve was tossed their way (been there, done that). I have already added the next two to my TBR list and am excited to get to know some of the other characters better.

Thanks to NetGalley, Rachael Stewart, and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another sensational best friend's little sister romance—with a twist.

This time, the best friend is a woman, and Sadie is her younger sister.

Sadie has admired Theo from afar for years. On her eighteenth birthday, she finally works up the nerve to kiss him—but it doesn’t go as she hoped. She moves on, falls for someone else… and ends up in a devastating relationship that nearly breaks her and her daughter. When Sadie finally escapes her abusive partner, her sister steps in and offers Theo’s home as a safe haven.

From the moment Sadie arrives, it’s clear she trusts Theo deeply. Stewart doesn’t dwell on the graphic details of Sadie’s trauma, but you feel the weight of her fear—her reluctance to leave the house, her protectiveness over her daughter. Stewart gives Sadie real emotional depth, and you find yourself rooting for her to rediscover the strength and spark she once had.

Theo, billionaire extraordinaire, is Sadie’s sister’s best friend and business partner. He’s always liked Sadie—even back when they first kissed—but now that she’s under his roof, he’s not ready to let her go. Stewart paints Theo as hyper-focused on work and set in his ways. So, when Sadie and her daughter move in and start softening his edges, it surprises everyone—including Theo himself. He struggles to balance his instinct to protect Sadie with his fear of falling too hard, knowing she might leave.

Theo leans on his close circle, including Sadie’s sister, who had grown distant during Sadie’s past relationship. Meanwhile, Sadie slowly learns to trust again and feel comfortable in her own skin. Their dynamic is tender, cautious, and full of quiet growth.

This was a great read—emotionally grounded without being too heavy, and compelling enough to keep you invested in Sadie and Theo’s journey. I loved it and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Racheal Stewart’s Filthy Rich Temptation delivers exactly what the title promises—a bold, intoxicating billionaire romance that’s as heartfelt as it is sizzling. At its core, this is a forbidden love story, built on years of tension, one reckless kiss, and the heavy weight of “should nots.”

Theo is the quintessential alpha hero—rich, controlled, and fiercely loyal to his best friend. That loyalty is exactly why Sadie, his best friend’s little sister, has always been off-limits. But when Sadie shows up at his door with her young daughter, needing protection from her past, his carefully constructed boundaries start to crack. Every smoldering glance, every brush of contact, chips away at the distance he swore to maintain.

Sadie is equally compelling. She’s not just a damsel in distress; she’s a woman who’s been through heartbreak and is determined to rebuild. Her vulnerability, paired with her resilience, makes her the perfect foil to Theo’s tightly wound restraint. Watching her rediscover both safety and passion is one of the book’s greatest strengths.

Stewart balances steamy, pulse-racing encounters with genuine emotion—particularly the tenderness between Theo and Sadie’s daughter, which grounds their fiery chemistry in something real and lasting. This isn’t just a forbidden fling; it’s about risk, second chances, and choosing love even when it terrifies you.

The result is a page-turner brimming with angst, passion, and heart. Fans of Ana Huang, TL Swan, and Meghan Quinn will find themselves utterly hooked.

Filthy Rich Temptation by Rachael Stewart is a best friend’s little sister, age gap, second chance, and single parent romance centered around the story of Sadie and Theo.
Sadie, a single mom to a little girl named Lottie, has just escaped from her abusive ex and returned to her hometown. With no alternative, she finds herself staying at her sister’s best friend’s house - coming face to face with the man she was once in love with. Theo, on the other hand, is confronted by the woman he shouldn’t want and knows he can’t have, yet has been entrusted to protect - along with her adorable daughter.
Theo does everything he can to help Sadie rediscover herself, which only makes him fall more and more in love with her, until neither of them can deny the chemistry between them.
This book addresses heavy topics in a straightforward yet empathetic way. Sadie is a victim, yes, but she is also a fighter - strong, resilient, a woman and a mother. Her character is much more than what happened to her. We get to see all sides of her: the woman who’s afraid of the man who hurt her, the young woman in love, the devoted mother who would do anything for her child, the younger sister, and the survivor who wants to rebuild her life and live it to the fullest.
I also appreciated that Theo wasn’t portrayed as her saviour. While he wanted to help and protect her, everything Sadie overcame was her own achievement.
In my opinion, this was a 5-star read. It’s a book with some of my favourite tropes, enjoyable characters, and a good balance between heavier themes and lighter, heartwarming moments.

WOW! What a story this is!
It’s probably a good job my husband doesn’t read my book reviews because I think I love Theo. I fell in love with him in chapter one. He’s just the most delicious character. I defy anyone to resist his charms!
Theo is a self-made billionaire, but this is far from the focus of this story. It’s barely mentioned really, although there are obvious nods to it such as him living in a London penthouse apartment overlooking the Thames, and owning a beach house in Pembrokeshire with a live-in housekeeper. He’s a modest character though, and he’s trying his best to support his best friend by helping her younger sister and her three-year-old daughter after fleeing an abusive relationship. The problem is, he has been attracted to Sadie for longer than he cares to admit. How is he supposed to live in such close proximity to her and keep his feelings under control!?
Sadie has always carried a torch for Theo and eventually makes her feelings quite clear, making her so much more difficult for Theo to resist….
The way Theo is with Sadie reminds me very much of how my husband is with me, which is why I think I am completely besotted with him. The chemistry between these two is off the charts! I hope they’re still the same 26 years later as we are.
With scorching scenes (hot is an understatement!) as well as heart-meltingly romantic ones I absolutely loved Theo’s and Sadie’s story. They have their stumbling blocks along the way, of course, but they get there in the end and that’s the most important thing. Who doesn’t love a happy ending!?
I adored this book and will have no problem recommending to anyone and everyone.

“She’s Taylor’s little sister. A woman who’s been through hell and back courtesy of a man. A woman who’s still going through hell because of him. She needs stability and security. Not me, bloody well objectifying her.
One week. Has it really only been a week? Because if the chaos doesn’t kill me, the temptation sure as hell might.”

Sadie is a single mom, struggling with the trauma left behind by her abusive ex. She had a childhood crush on Theo, and she constantly thinks about the kiss they shared when she was 18. Now with a kid in tow and a whole load of trauma, she’ll keep her heart more closely guarded - can she begin again?

Theo is a billionaire - a work centric life with no life balance. This is upended when he agrees to let Sadie and Lottie stay, a tornado of chaos that brings life into his house. Can he avoid his attraction to Sadie? Or will they get a second chance?

“And then I realise: They’re not just in my space any more. They’ve become my space. And what kind of crazy talk is that? I’m a billionaire bachelor with a business to run, not a billionaire babysitter on endless standby.”

This was such a fun read! I love how good Theo was with Lottie - they made such a cute little family. He was protective of Sadie but also helped her heal from her traumas and begin again. I also enjoyed the side characters of Taylor and Enzo and hope we get their stories in future books.

Features - Age gap, best friend’s little sister, single mom, billionaire.

When order and chaos collide in the best possible way!

Theo Tanner didn’t expect his penthouse to turn into a sticky mess courtesy of a blond, curly-haired three-year-old called Lottie! When he’d agreed to allow his best friend, Taylor’s sister, and niece to move in for the summer, it hadn’t occurred to him that his home would turn into a disaster area. Yet, he never forgot when this young woman was there for him at his darkest hour…seven years ago...and even after such a long time, he’s fighting his attraction to her….

Running away from her past, Sadie is grateful she and her daughter have somewhere to stay for the summer. Even so, she’s mad her sister arranged for them to stay at Theo’s place and not hers. He’s a distraction and a constant reminder of a time, seven years ago when she humiliated herself by kissing him…

I’m not usually a fan of novels with young children in them, but in this case, I really enjoyed how Lottie is woven into the narrative. Her presence adds a light-hearted vibe to balance against some of the darker elements that form part of Sadie’s story. Although this is a romance, there is added suspense which is a nice surprise. Both the protagonists are perfect for each other, showing feelings beyond the foundations of their friendship.

There are a handful of tropes and emotions at play, tying the story together perfectly. Overall, Filthy Rich Temptation is delightfully, entertaining...Rachael Stewart’s latest novel doesn’t disappoint.

This is the first book in this new series - The Filthy Rich Billionaires series - and I believe that there are already 3 books ready and planned for release over the next few months!!

This isn't my first read by this author though, having read The Puck Stops Here over the summer.

Already knowing that I loved Stewart's writing style and knowing I love a good billionaire romance, I was really excited to jump straight into this read!

This has all of the classic elements of books in this genre and I was completely taken in by our main characters.

Although Theo is a billionaire, he had an edge to him that just made him feel authentic and relatable.

Sadie had been through a lot since their last encounter and whilst escaping her abusive ex, finds herself back in close proximity to the man that she never really let go of.

I love the way this story progressed and we follow the current events whilst also hearing of their previous kiss and how each of them feels about this.

Sadie's daughter adds another layer to the situation and it was lovely to see how Theo protected both of them.

I liked that this was essentially a forbidden romance which created an underlying tension on top of the hidden history and the obvious sexual chemistry that existed between the pair.

This was such an easy read and I devoured it over just a couple of days.

I was completely immersed from the start and am excited to see where we're heading for the next book in the series.

Billionaire romance isn’t a genre I usually gravitate toward, but Racheal Stewart absolutely is and when I saw this ARC available on Boldwood, it was an instant yes. I’m so glad I said yes, because this book is far more than your standard billionaire romance.

This story is layered with emotion, trauma, healing, and an unforgettable toddler who completely stole my heart. Sadie Stone’s journey is one of survival, motherhood, and rediscovering her own voice after the devastation of an abusive relationship. It’s a narrative that is both moving and empowering, reminding readers that love isn’t just about finding the right person, it’s also about finding strength within yourself.

As a survivor myself, I found this book profoundly meaningful and beautifully written. Stewart handles difficult themes with compassion and authenticity while balancing them with moments of humor, warmth, and romance.

Racheal Stewart proves once again that her talent goes beyond writing swoon-worthy, fun romances (though she does those brilliantly too!). Here, she seamlessly blends emotional depth with heartfelt storytelling, creating a love story that is as healing as it is heartwarming.

Highly recommended for readers who enjoy romance with depth, resilience, spice, and hope at its core.
