I tried, but i couldn't with these 3.
I dislike the guys because they are not on the same page. Ones more worried about the fmc, then his partner and the other are more worried about mmc than all.
And fmc, I feel she isn't worried about the 2. They aren't having eachothers back like all the pervious couples.

And I forgot that the fmc was the "ex" of the mmc in the last book, and he was a huge jerk to her she didn't even wanna marry him.
It's just not my cup.

What I liked: that scene where the FMC shows up all malnourished, and the 2 MMCs are all “what happened?!? Let us take care of you”? I’m a sucker for that set up. (No psychoanalysis, please.)

What was not for me: this book was around 90% smutty scenes, but sadly I wasn’t into this version of the BDSM dynamic. Or maybe I needed more heart from the story to tie it all together — it seemed a lot soapier than the first couple of books in the series.

My god!! 🥵🥵

I’m pretty sure that Briana Michaels did a number on me with Break!!

While I have loved the entire Next Level series, Break has just taken the entire cake!!

Kerrington, Nicole and Landon were the couple that I didn’t know I needed and Break was definitely the story that I didn’t know I was missing!!

These three took spicy to a whole other level!!

The dynamic between these three was so great to see…The way that Kerrington and Landon just wanted to take care of Nicole and make her feel safe and loved was swoonworthy!!

I am so sad that this series is over, but definitely loved that it ended on a BANG!!

Forced my way through over half of it before I had to DNF it. I love this series and I really loved the previous book but this one just doesn't work. The FMC is obnoxious and annoying. The two MMC's are in a long term established relationship but both of them love her more than the other and their relationship is borderline just FWB. Sadly none of it works. It's mostly just smut, which I'm ok with but even that isn't that good.

Honestly, I was so disappointed in this book. Of course I had some high hopes after the first 4 in the series which were awesome! The 5th was ok. This last one, this is really just a book with a bunch of sex and nothing else. The ending was super weak. So the entire relationship between her and her parents was just a misunderstanding? Really? The scary blackmailer just backs down after a confrontation with the guys? Sorry, the first 4 in the series made this one of my favorite authors and the last 2 really have me questioning that. Seems like the author just really wanted to finish the series and be done with it.

I think this has to be my favorite from the series. They spice was soooo spicy and I really enjoyed the kinks that were in this book. The plot wasn’t a big presence but what was there gave me all the feels. 10/10 would definitely recommend especially if you’re in a book slump and just need to get out of your head.

3.5⭐️ I'm honestly not sure what I'd rate this. My gut reaction was a 4⭐️ because I enjoyed it more or less and I appreciated the throuple representation in a way that wasn't competitive or love triangle-y. However, regarding how well I felt it was executed is more complicated. I really liked Kerrington and Landon, but I had a harder time with Nicole and how believable the outcome of the story is.

I really liked the 2 mmc's! Kerrington and Landon were distinct characters with distinct voices. I found Kerrington's careful, steadiness to be really reassuring and safe. Landon was funny and very relatable for me. He's emotional and wears his heart on his sleeve. He's also very caring. I like how they complement each other. I didn't dislike Nicole, but I found her issues/insecurities very unrelatable and I didn't find her that likeable...😬 I got frustrated and annoyed with her antics. It was hard for me to feel any compassion for her situation. It's not that I think she could do exactly what Mason does to get out under her parents' thumb, but she kept turning down all the help she was offered. It kind of felt like at a certain point, she was putting herself in as hard of a position as she ended up in. Additionally, I don't think Michaels did her character any favors because we meet her as an annoying thorn in Mason's side. I think she could've been made into a pretty sympathetic character in her book (which I think Michaels does a really good job with with Mason), but the level of generational wealth and relentless drive is not the most accessible to the average person. There just didn't seem to be a ton else to her? idk. I might have to think more on why Mason worked for me, but Nicole didn't as much.

There also just didn't feel like a ton happened in this book, considering the fact that the stakes felt much higher. For one, a throuple is a hard. A relationship between 2 people is hard enough, but including a third person in the way they're trying to adds a whole other layer. For only 300 pages, I think Michaels does a decent job at showing how a partner can't necessarily fulfill every need (sexual or other) that another person has. Showing that Kerrington and Landon love each other, but also realize something is missing in their dynamic for the other (albeit different needs), is very insightful and mature. Though, I do need to note that their relationship felt very unfounded. I don't remember a single hint at their having feelings for each other, even though Mason calls them out on it and says it's been obvious since college...there was just no foundation for this and necessitated a suspension of disbelief in order for the basis of this story to work. That said, it felt like a lot of the emotional turmoil between Landon and Kerr was built up and then resolved so easily. Michaels kinda seemed to rely heavily on the miscommunication trope here which was definitely not my favorite. Introducing Nicole to that should've made everything feel even worse, but it sort of felt like the tension level remained the same, nothing got better or worse once they started aggressively pursuing her (AND this was after she had ghosted them for 6 months so they were still kind of raw from that rejection). I suppose we're supposed to believe that most of the drama happened prior to the start of this book, going back 10 years. If that's the case, I guess I just expected...more. I do believe that they loved each other fiercely, but the showing part was just lacking for me. Everything just felt really muted. Once they finally confess that they're both in love with Nicole, everything is suddenly fine, which felt really anticlimactic. In real life, I get that that sort of mental torment feels really big and anxiety inducing, but for a book, it just didn't translate super well for me. Even when Landon and Kerr confront the stalker weirdo, I don't remember ever meeting him before? So he just sort of came out of nowhere...and then they beat him up and that situation is taken care of. And this was after Nicole hints at having this really deep, dark secret. Something she needs to protect them from...again, high stakes, and too easily resolved to be exciting lol

Ok, so Nicole...her hot and cold behavior was exhausting. I feel like there could've been another way to show the toll her mental state took on her other than having her clam up and change her mind constantly. Maybe this is just a "me" problem. But I can't stand the waffling in a way that hurts Kerr and Landon, and they're so frickin patient with her! I felt like she was taking them for granted, while also wailing about how she feels like she doesn't deserve their love and devotion. And frankly, I didn't really feel like she was that special. I got why all the other MMCs were spectacular and cool. Nicole just felt comparatively...ordinary. I'm sorry, I don't mean to say she doesn't deserve to have love, I just felt like she flopped as a character for me when I could see why Carson liked Mak, and Mason liked Leah, Cole liked Haley, Trey liked Erin (who I also got frustrated with), and even Ara and Glitch! Nicole just seemed all kinds of messed up and severely lacked confidence, which the rest of these fmc's had in spades on the whole (like yeah they had their insecurities, but the majority of trhe story wasn't spent on their obsessing over them...). Even when she figured out what she wanted, that she liked supporting instead of creating, it still felt anticlimactic. There wasn't any development in her pursuing this desire. She criticizes herself for wanting it and I think Michaels should've had some of the book devoted to validating Nicole's desire. People dismiss women's dreams of being a homemaker because it's thought of as backwards, but being able to choose that instead of being the default is what I think Michaels was trying to communicate. By not showing how wonderful and empowering it truly is for Nicole, I think she undermines that message. Instead, we spend 98% of the book with a very sad, mercurial fmc. Also, ugh, I'm sorry but there is also 0 depiction of Nicole's relationship with her parents; all we see is her stressing about how conservative they'll be and then immediately her mom dissuades the audience from thinking that by being unexpectedly accepting? 1) that is really unrealistic, I wish it weren't but it is and 2) not having any sort of context before that phone call other than what Nicole tells us (which is her projected insecurities) made their on-page phone call feel really hollow and even unnecessary? Like if the parents are going to just accept something that makes literally 0 sense for them (both developmentally, but also practically) (after they were trying to force her to marry Mason (again for business reasons, which is established in Mason's book)) why include this phone call at all? While I wish parents were like Nicole's when their kids come to them saying they want to pursue unorthodox relationship structures, it just didn't narratively make sense in this story. The mom tries to push all of that nonsense on Scarlett (Mason's mom who we do see is a monster in his book), but that felt like a copout. Instead, I would've liked to have seen actual on-page development and interactions between Nicole and her parents. Like the whole time she just ghosts them and then...it all works out? What was even the point??? lol

Of course, the spice was good. The control game was amusing. I like the depiction of healthy communication in threesomes, especially in power exchange dynamics. I like the emphasis on showing why subs like being subs: sometimes it's fucking exhausting to make decisions and you just want someone else (whom you trust!!!) to take control. My one tiny qualm was that there were scenes when Landon/Kerrington used sex to try to get Nicole to answer their questions. I don't think it was distinctly problematic, but can definitely be misconstrued or misrepresented as being coercive when irl, I could totally see that sort of dynamic working as a form of play. Getting someone into a headspace they're more comfy in, letting them relax and sink into a mental space where they can let go and stop overthinking. Could definitely be seen as manipulative, and we need to be careful about that. It's really hard to depict healthy power exchange dynamics because so much is based on feelings that are hard to explain.

Anyways, idk, I think I had more mechanical issues with this one than the others, except for Glitch. I still enjoyed it, but I prefer other installments in this series more.

I’ve really enjoyed the previous books in this series so I expected to equally enjoy this one and it just… didn’t turn out that way. I think, for me, it would’ve been better if it was novella length because nothing really happens in this book.

I didn’t feel all that connected to any of the MCs. There is so much miscommunication in this book, it’s almost criminal. I feel like I’ve never been confronted with a set of adults that cannot communicate to save their lives. It became increasingly frustrating reading their story and I found it harder to find some connection with them.

The smut is good but that’s ultimately all this is. The substance and the plot is quite weak and the main issues are fully developed and brought to light quite late in the book leading them to be quite quickly wrapped up.

The issue Nicole (FMC) is running from and the way Kerrington (MMC) and Landon (MMC) dealt with it seemed to come very left field; I personally felt like there were no previous indicators of a penchant for violence.

The situation with Nicole and her parents also seemed to be chalked up to poor communication and it was kind of lacklustre 🤷🏾‍♀️

It’s rare that a book series gets better as you head towards the end but, in my opinion, The Next Level series does just that. I wasn’t a big fan of the first four books (Glitch, Flip, Click and Stay) but have loved the last two (Risk and Break).

Break picks up from the night of the gala included in the previous book, Risk. Whilst it is stated that you don’t necessarily have to read Risk first, I think that to get the most out of Break, you do need to have read Risk especially to understand Nicole’s situation.

The book begins rather frustratingly. The first chapter ends just as Nicole heads off with Landon and Kerrington the night of the gala with the next chapter picking up six months later. Way to leave us hanging, Briana! You do find out snippets of what happens that night but I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting to know every detail.

Landon and Kerrington are lovely and are great protagonists. They care and love each other deeply but a blatantly aware that there is something missing from their relationship and both worry that neither can fill that hole for the other.

Enter Nicole. Lan and Kerr have been in love with Nicole for a decade but had been unable to act on their desires until the night of the gala. Fortunately, Nicole is more than willing to play the role they both need, making her the perfect missing piece to their jigsaw.

The vulnerability of Landon and Kerrington felt real both desperately in love with each other but knowing that wouldn’t be enough.

The way the two of them look after Nicole and give her the strength and support to take control of her life and finally do what she wants and be herself, was enough to melt me.

This book is steamy with plenty of M/F, M/M and M/M/F sex scenes which are spicy but are underpinned by the love the three characters have for each other.

A fantastic end to the Next Level series that leaves me wanting to read more about Landon, Kerrington, Nicole, Mason and Leah.

Break brings us back to the world of Risk, but this time we get front-row seats to the delicious chaos that is Landon, Kerrington, and Nicole—aka my new favorite MMF combo.

I was SO excited to get a ménage story from this crew and let me tell you… it did NOT disappoint. The SPICE and KINK are next level (pun fully intended) and come packed with:
D/s, sadism, masochism, toys, dirty talk, brat dynamics, spanking, switching, and DVP.
Yep. She went there. And I was LIVING.

CAN YOU TAKE THE HEAT?? Because this book comes in hot and heavy.

Some standout moments that had me feral:

• And yes… the DVP scene. Whew. Just… whew.

Bonus points for the wild twist when Landon and Kerr go full beast mode on stalker dude. As a dark romance girly, I absolutely ate that up.

Now, real talk—Nicole’s still not my fave (she whines too much for me and I didn’t love her in Risk either), but the beauty of these novellas is how fast and filthy they are, so she didn’t drag it down.

Final Verdict:
I’ll never stop reading this series. It’s like candy for my spicy little soul. Gimme more. Always.

Nicole, Kerrington, and Landon have been friends since college, Nicole was in an arranged relationship/engagement with one of their other friends. Kerrington and Landon are in a relationship together, but sometimes play with other females.

When Mason breaks the engagement, the boys make their move on Nicole and give her one glorious night of passion. Nicole leaves the next morning without saying goodbye, leaving each of them a little heartbroken.

Nicole eventually makes her way back to the guys, they vow to never let her go again. Even if they have to handcuff her to the basement.

This book is 90% spice and 10% story, not kidding at all. No OW/OM drama, no third act breakup.

Oh how I devoured these three, I love a good MMF romance & this one went over my expectations! Landon & Kerrington finally get a night with their duchess & it is everything dreams are made of, but when they wake up she is gone… that doesn’t stop them from watching her every move from a distance since she loves to hide & run herself into the ground when it comes to working in the family business. Once she comes back into their orbit they will do absolutely anything to keep their duchess with them forever. Nicole knows what she wants but believes she can never have it, but that’s until her two men make her see that what she wants is exactly what they want & more. The sexual tension & chemistry between all three is off the charts, the spicy scenes were very hot! The way Trick & Daddy dominated in the bedroom when it came to there sweet Duchess would have you needing to take a break to fan yourself off! I read the entire Next Level Series & all of them have knocked me off my feet with the spice along with falling for these characters, this author has out done herself with this series.

Wow, I’m very disappointed in this book. I enjoyed most of the books in this Next Level series, I expected more I guess.

There was way too much sex in this book. That’s right, I said it. I skipped so much of this book, and skimmed what I did read just to get to the end. Almost no plot and I didn’t even like Nicole very much, she’s a washout as a MFC, she is boring AF. She is like a doll the two guys just move around from one place to another, no life in her whatsoever.

I didn’t like the wishy-washy way Landon and Kerrington went back forth on whether they could stay together if they couldn’t convince Nicole to stay. “I loved you first” while the internal dialogue is saying he doesn’t think their relationship can survive without her. Is her vagina lined with crack or something? Snooze, get your shit together.

Then the blackmail storyline felt like it was thrown in just to try and give the book a plot, but doesn’t have any real meat to it. Throughout the book we read how her parents are disappointed in her and are pushing her so hard, then when mommy dearest finally gets Nicholas on the phone it’s the complete opposite. It was all a misunderstanding. Like, what?

I love you Briana, but this book was boring. Please go back to writing female characters (and male) with some backbone. I felt like this book was just phoned in. Maybe she’s over her Next Level series and just going through the motions, ready to move on with her new series, Monarch Club.

I'm a fan of Kerr and Landon and their relationship and a bit sad they had to have a third person added to their mix to be fully happy, purely because they have such good chemitry and dynamics together!

I'm not the best Nicole fan; I thought she was obnoxious and annoying at times and didn't understand her and why she miscommunicates so muich with the boys.

The smut in this is incredible, I had so much fun reading about them all together.

I'm so sad this series is over. It was so easy to read them all, I flew through them, couldn't stop reading once I started.

This book is classified as Contemporary Romance, and is book six of an interconnected series. It does not have a trigger warning list.

The book is written in fiurst person. This book has multiple point of views: Nicole, Kerrington, and Landon. Nicole broke up with her fiance, who was Mason (book five). Kerrington and Landon is close friends with Mason, and are together. Kerrington and Landon just sold their company.

Dare I say, this one is my favorite of the entire series? The series is absolutely AMAZING, but this one just blew me away. I hope the author has more to come with this series!

Man do you need one hand to read this book! HAF, MMF!!! Brains Michaels just took the Next Level series to the Next Level!!

a good ending to the book and the series.
I liked this book
I liked seeing Landon and Kerrington's dynamic and how they included Nicole. she really needed both of them, cuz Kerry is a sadist and Nicole is a masochist and Landon needed someone to be the dom to.
I can't believe Nicole ran her self so down because of others expection and honestly I get it. glad she ran to them and they didn't let her go. I know she'll get her house and pool and kids 🫶🏾 .
her mother got in my good graces in the end but she still nuh nice

Another next level installment, and another spicy ride. This one gave us a MMF relationship and it was as always a good time. Nicole was not a favorite of mine in this one, I liked the guys. I wish with the dynamic that was building communication would have been a bit better. I always love to read these books, not too serious, fun, hot, and perfect for a light read.

I, too, have dealt with a crash out by begging someone to consensually wreck my shit, so I really respect Nicole's decision to do the same. And what great friends Landon and Kerrington are to assist her with that. Even if Mason spent half of the book in the background pretending these three were not giving him an ulcer. This was the perfect smutty palate cleanser for a weekend read. Tons of spice and low angst, just pure, horny fun.

The other books were better?

I dont really know. I got into this series because of Glitch and I loved every last one of the other books. But this one i feel like it was kind of a slower burn than the others, but WAY more conflict? I know its all in Nicholes personality and deflection, but it went on too long for me. And the major conflict that happened? It was resolved way too fast IMO. Otherwise a good read
