Forged in Montana: Silo Springs Ranch Book 1

Rate this book
Blythe Harper is engaged to a high-rolling real estate broker, until every one of her carefully laid plans goes up in flames. An only child cut off from her parents, when her life in Chicago lights on fire, she finds herself accepting an offer to go back to her childhood sanctuary, a thousand miles away.

Hiding out at her uncle’s ranch in Montana for a peaceful summer is her new plan—a plan that’s totally upended when she meets the farrier for Silo Springs.

He’s a cowboy in a backwards ball cap—tall, dark, handsome, and antagonizingly flirtatious.

But Blythe just got rid of a man, and she doesn’t need another one. The cowboy can flirt and tease all he wants. She won’t fall for a facade like that a second time.

Unless, perhaps, it’s not a facade at all.

Blythe was engaged to her arrogant fiancé, Max, when all of a sudden he flips a switch on her when it comes to the subject of kids. She wanted to try for them immediately and he didn’t want them at all. He just wanted a trophy wife to be at his beck and call as arm candy in the public eye.

She runs away to her uncle’s farm she spends summers at as a child in Montana for a break/escape. When she arrives at the ranch she runs into one of the farm’s farriers, Justin. They briefly met when she was younger and the meet-cute years later was funny! They quickly form an attraction but it takes a little while for Blythe to trust a man again after her ex-fiancé. The Before they knew it, they got their HEA!

Now THAT is how you do a debut novel!! A round of applause for Mrs. Mallory Freaking Meyers!!! Justin and Blythe were such a feel good love story! Justin knew what he wanted from the moment he laid eyes on her & by golly gee did this man work that cowboy magic to get his way! I obsess over a protective MMC & Justin was checking ALL the dang boxes. The way he cared for Blythe but also kept is so real with her. He made her feel everything she NEEDED to feel in order for their relationship to thrive. Blythe being Blythe….running was the easy way out. It was easier than coming to terms with her trauma and skeletons in her OWN closet. But how far could she really run before ending back up into Justins arms? Guess you will have to read it to find out!! With this being the first of a four book series, we have absolutely not heard the last of the amazing Mrs. Meyers!!

Happy debut to mallorymeyers!! I was so excited for this book and it didn't disappoint! If you love a modern love story with a twist this one is for you. I love how we got to see the background of the characters and how they met again once they had grown up.
Blythe is running away from an almost terrible life, after realising that what she thought she had was not true. Although she thinks she is only running away from her past, she ends up running to Justin.
Justin has all but sworn off romance, not having found his other half, until Blythe comes barging back into his life. The amount of love that Justin has for Blythe had me swooning and I was kicking my feet the entire time!!

✨ARC Review✨

Book 1 of in 4 The Silo Springs Series

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️

“Do you like this, sugar?”

Yellowstone can keep Casey because I just fell for the swooniest cowboy of Montana, Justin Forge! A boy dealt with a terrible hand grew up to be a man that vowed to let generational trauma end with him. Justin is the epitome of a small town cowboy. He exudes sex appeal all due to the confident and masculine energy that he conveys through his flirtatious one liners and protective demeanor. He had me blushing EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! The mouth on this cowboy.🥰

Blythe, our FMC, is such a sweet ‘n sassy, strong, self assured, doesn’t take shit from anyone young woman. I love Blythe and so incredibly proud of her for standing on her own and wanting to pave her way after leaving the disaster of life she was about to step into.

This is Mallory’s debut novel and it was nothing short of perfect. Filled with sweet and stolen moments, slow burn, vulnerability, and a touch of suspense, I devoured this book! The patience, understanding, and self control between our two MC’s was written so perfectly!

Forged in Montana releases April 10th! Add now to Goodreads and Fable. 💫

Highly recommend if you like:
•age gap

Arc review.
First off i would like to thank Mallory for the opportunity to read & review this gifted E-Arc.

Blythe & Justin
Blythe my girl. I absolutely just loved her so much and admire that she wasn't afraid to stand up for her self and go after what she wanted. I loved her attitude about everything and going after everything she wanted for her self. Her ability to be open and vulnerably with who she is and what she went through. Justin ugh (insert me swooning here) he is the absolute sweetest man ever. His ability to be open with Blythe and show his emotions. I absolutely adore the way he keeps going in life and keeps a positive outlook on life after everything he went through. I love that he showed Blythe he was all in and wanted her just the way she was. I adore that he was patient with her and let hed work things out on her own terms & he pushed her when she needed it. These two from the first moment was meant to be in every way.

5/5 Recommend this book. This is Mallory debut novel and she knocked it outta the park. I absolutely loved everything she did and the way she pulls at your heartstrings and lets you feel all the emotions. Her writing and storytelling is super well done and i can't wait to read whatever else she writes.

𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀

I absolutely loved most of this book. For a debut it was very accomplished in characters, plot, romance and story telling. Justin seemed to be the perfect MMC and Blythe was adorable. Then the story unfolded a few things that caused a huge shift in how I read this book. Hurdle one I'm ancient and I struggle with reading about a virgin, hurdle 2 and the one that caused me the biggest issue was my least favourite trope and the circumstances around it. I won't say which one as I don't do spoilers but this changed my entire opinion of Justin and there was no going back.

I think if I was between 18-30 (which is probably the target audience) then this would be a five star read. Things just hit differently when you get older and have daughters the same age as the fmc.

I have high expectations for book 2 though as I think the older characters will be top tier and show them younguns how romance is really done.

Take a seat and strap in - we're about to go for a ride.

Normally books written in 3rd person take me a while to get into - not this book. Mallory's writing sucked me in from page 1. And, it's her DEBUT Novel. You do no want to miss this cowboy romance.

I've never wanted to eat popcorn while reading a book before...until this one. It was basically a movie in my head the whole time and deservers all the movie snacks to go along with it.

In this book you get so much more than a love story. You will also find:

- healing from trauma
- finding yourself
- learning to forgive yourself
- suspense

Our MCs:

Blythe high tailed it out of the city and out to Montana seeking the peace she found there as a child. That's all. She didn't go looking for a handsome cowboy to sweep her off her feet.
She also didn't know that that's exactly what she needed.

Justin. Whew! Justin Forge...he is quite the MMC that I think the book world needs more of. His love for family and those he holds dear are what every girl deserves. He had terrible traumas in his past, but through the story, you will learn how he overcame them to be the man he is.

Bear. Ohhh Bear ❤️ I love when books give our MCs furry companions, and you are one of my favorites.

I swear I could go on, I truly loved this book. I'm so excited you can get this book on April 10, 2025. It is available for pre-order on Amazon.

This book is about Justin and Blythe and their love story in the stars.

These two meet in the most comical way, and have many bumps along their dirt road to overcome to be able to have their great love.

Blythe is running away from a life she was blinded into thinking she wanted, until she truly saw the devil behind the mask. She seeks a new start and a place to stand on her own two feet at the one place she always felt like home, silo springs Montana. Little did she know her destiny would put her right in the line of one witty, blunt, and protective cowboy.

Justin is no young kid anyone, he has lived his life and made a name for himself, he felt he had everything. Until the firey redhead with one hell if an ass is found in chicken coop. Justin can’t help the attraction he has for this woman and he has one hell of a restraint to navigate the chaos that is Blythe Harper.

This book is this authors debut novel and she did a great job, and so happy she put her story out for the world to have. It is told in third person POV and on the mild side for spice. This story really is about a courtship and patience of a man who knows what he wants and is will to wait for the girl to get her head on straight.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted an arc for this book and I absolutely adored it. First, I love a good cowboy romance and this one was a fun and fresh take on a classic. I loved both Justin and Blythe’s characters so much. Blythe is a breath of fresh air- she is spunky and a free spirit but also down to earth. Justin is a sizzling gentleman who is self assured and knows what he wants but also respectful about it.

I really loved how Blythe’s internal struggle felt so relatable. I think most women feel the way she does at least once at some point in the journey of growing up and falling in love. She felt real to me and I think the best characters are those that you can see some of yourself in.

This is a quick ride but the balance was fantastic for the pacing and I really liked the build of the connection for these two. Mallory managed to pack in moments that had me giggling, crying, and melting from beginning to end. She really knocked it out of the park with this debut and I can’t wait for others to get their hands on this.

This book was so good!! Oh my goodness! It was an easy read but that didn't mean it wasn't emotional or heartbreaking. What a dream boat Justin was! 🥵 I get the draw to him, cowboys are sexy and hard to resist! (I have a blue eyed cowboy of my own.)
The dog scene broke me, not gonna lie.
One thing I did wish for was that we had more of why Max was a douche canoe. Now, I know the story is Justin's and Blythe's, but Blythe leaving Max felt a bit short, like, I needed her to have more reasons to leave him than the reason she did. Which, is a good reason, but I also think it was one they could've talked through. I think if there were a couple instances where he either smacked her around or treated her more like she was a trophy I would've been satisfied with her leaving him like she did.
But other than that I really did love the book. The spice was the right amount of spice and didn't make me feel icky.
I can't wait for more from Mallory!!!!!!! 💜

I’m so proud of Mallory on her debut novel!! Give me a cowboy romance and add in an age gap and a little bit of suspense and I’m sold!
Blythe is just getting out of a toxic engagement and moves in with her uncle while she figures out her next step. Justin is the sexy older cowboy that works on her uncle’s ranch. There is chemistry and tension from their first interaction that is electric. Justin is such a swoon worthy cowboy! He had a traumatic childhood but it has shaped him into a layered and emotionally mature man. He is the perfect balance for Blythe. Even though she is 10 years younger she has had to grow up fast due to her own past experiences.
Mallory did so well with her debut! It is written so well and I fell in love with all the characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next!!

There is no such thing as a bad book but this just wasn’t the one for me. It was super sweet, the slowest of burns ever and does have some plot twists that come in towards the end.

The MMC, Justin is really lovely and is the perfect cinnamon roll. I would happily read a book featuring Justin all day. He is an all round good guy, has some trauma but is processing and managing this. He is also a super cute dog dad. I am not sure the FMC deserved him (but that’s just my opinion).

If you like a small town romance, with slow burn romance and I mean slow then you will probably love this.

A really sweet debut novel! I’m an absolute sucker for an age gap romance….but throw in a 6’3, brown hair/blue eyed cowboy? YEEHAW.

There’s some really great character growth for our FMC Blythe (I’m also jealous of her name).

MMC Justin is everything you could want in a MMC. Totally unproblematic & worshipped the ground Blythe walks on.

Very refreshing & feel good read! 💘

Justin is a true gentleman Cowboy through and through. I had a hard time at first connecting with Blythe but soon grew to love her just as much!
A lot of the action doesn’t happen until the end of the book but WOW it’s totally worth the wait. It gets you in all the feels.

Justin & Blythe – an FMC looking to start over and a flirty cinnamon roll of an MMC. Say less!

Stars: 4/5
Spice: 2/5
POV: 3rd Person, Dual

When Blythe needs a fresh start, the only place she’d want to go is her uncle’s ranch in Montana – where she meets Justin, the local farrier.

I had a great time reading Justin & Blythe’s story. I loved that when she needed to start over, Blythe went to the only place that felt like home. That in the chaos of what had become of her life, there was one place she felt safe to go and take the time to figure out who she is. And then meeting Justin, who couldn’t be more different from the ex she’s running from, when she’s really not looking for anyone – they felt inevitable and I loved that. Justin is the flirtiest of cinnamon rolls, and I’m here for it. There was a suspense element to this story that I didn’t know was coming, and I’ll eat that up every time! There were a couple moments here and there that I didn’t connect with an element of the story as well or something pulled me out of the story, but overall I really enjoyed it. If you love age gaps and cowboy romances, you should read this debut!

Forged in Montana by Mallory Meyers is a charming and heartfelt romance that takes you on a journey from the hustle of Chicago to the quiet beauty of Montana. Blythe Harper, who was engaged to a successful but distant real estate broker, finds herself abruptly reevaluating her life when everything she’s worked for falls apart. Estranged from her family and facing a fractured future, Blythe accepts an offer to spend the summer at her uncle’s ranch in Silo Springs, hoping to find some peace and clarity.

Her plan for a calm, uncomplicated summer is thrown off course when she meets Justin, a flirtatious cowboy with a backward ball cap and a magnetic presence. He’s everything Blythe doesn’t want—charming, teasing, and easy on the eyes—but despite herself, she finds it hard to ignore the chemistry between them. After a painful breakup with a man who turned out to be less than what he seemed, Blythe is determined not to fall for another facade.

Mallory’s writing shows the tension between Blythe’s growing attraction to Justin and her desire to protect herself from heartache. This slow-burn romance is perfectly complemented by the breathtaking Montana setting, offering a beautiful backdrop for Blythe’s emotional journey. Forged in Montana is a delightful mix of romance, self-discovery, and second chances, with a hero who’s far more than just a cowboy. It’s a story about finding love when you least expect it, and realizing that sometimes the greatest risks lead to the most rewarding outcomes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨(3.75)

This is a great debut book with a couple of deep themes (PTSD, betrayal trauma) involved in addition to the backdrop of a cowboy romance. Blythe is a young woman, who got into a relationship, and didn’t realise she was being manipulated and mistreated soon enough. Justin is a self made man in his thirties who has built a life of his own after a difficult chidlhood, he is busy with his work as a farrier, but he is lonely too. As the two meet, it's insta-attraction followed by fun banter and teasing all around, though personally I would have preferred a little more tension at this point. But, I really enjoyed how they progressed from here, getting to know each other more and uncovering the layers, to find what demons still haunt them. Blythe’s piece of s**t ex, is always lurking in the background somewhere, and I knew it would be interesting in the third act, which it is. Such a fun and dramatic climax.

In terms of spice, it is a bit of a slow burn, and the spice hits around 70% mark, but when it does, it is so good. Justin is definitely hot, protective and caring, with a dirty mouth and doesn't shy away from flirting with her at any time. One of the micro tropes is ‘she is a virgin’ - you may like to consider if that is something that interests you or not. The side characters i.e. Blythe’s uncle and his little daughters, are such a sweet pack, we will be spending more time with them in book 2!

Overall, it was a great first book by Malory and look forward to more of her work!

Thanks to Malory for sharing the ARC in return for my honest feedback.

Forged in Montana by Mallory Meyers eARC Review

First of all, I am completely shocked that this is a debut novel. This book is fantastic and so well written. I truly fell in love with the story and with Justin and Blythe.

Blythe finds herself starting over at her uncles ranch where she used to love spending time when she was younger. She is definitely not looking for love or any kind of relationship at all, but tell that to the hunky farrier cowboy who is gone for her as soon as he lays eyes on her. The banter between the two main characters is so good. The way their relationship grows is so beautiful. They help each other heal in ways they didn’t even know they needed.

This book is like a warm hug. So sweet and heartwarming. There is a hint of spice and dirty talking cowboy, which we all know and love. Definitely a slow burn, but in the best way. Also some added suspense, which my jaw was actually on the floor at one point. 🤭

Highly recommend adding this one to your TBR! I am so excited to see what Mallory has in store for the rest of the series!

Read if you enjoy:
Found family
Angry love confession
Age gap
Dog dad
Lots of banter
Slow burn (in the best way)

Thank you so much Mallory for the opportunity to read this as an ARC for my honest opinion and review!

If you want to swoon over a sweet talking cowboy with a big heart of gold, then you need to read Justin!

Justin comes from an extremely broken home. So broken he is sent to live with foster parents at the age of 16. But that love saved his life and made him into the man he is today. Going to live with Chris and Claire showed him how to be a man and learn what love truly looks like. So much so that when they had daughters of their own, he considers those little girls his sisters.

Blythe had a different upbringing than Justin but hers was still not the best. Her parents just never wanted to deal or be around her. So she considered her Uncle Chris and Aunt Claire to be more of a father figure than her own parents. She would spend her summers at their farm/ranch in Montana and they were the best times of her life. Little did she know one of the ranch hands at the time would be the one to show HER what true love looks like.

So when Blythe finds herself in a bad spot in her life, ex fiancé is all I am saying, the one place she finds herself running to is the place she has always been happy.

I loved Justin. Loved how he was with Blythe. The way he took charge but still respected her wishes. Blythe on the other hand took a little for me to like but I forget she is only 20 and still learning a lot in life.

ARCA Review

Geeeeet ready for all the cowboy goodness!!!

Blythe has finally had enough of her controlling fiancée and leaves him in Chicago for the promise of better things in Montana where she used to spend her summers growing up. Heading there to heal with the help of her uncle Chris and his two adorable little girls, she gets knocked on her butt (figuratively and literally) by handsome cowboy Justin. Coming from a troubled past, Justin was content with his quiet life until Blythe rumbles in and shows him there’s so much more to want in life.

Justin is an actual dreamboat!! He is soooo hot (like sir you turn your hat backwards I’ll instantly marry you) but he is so tender, patient and caring to boot. I loved the way he made her laugh and was all in from the very start.

Blythe is so fun! She’s sweet and sassy but still really vulnerable. She is trying to really put her stamp on her independence which at times was to a fault. Girl let that man love you and take care of you hahaha. Once she lets down her walls they are so beautiful together.

Special shout out to Uncle Chris trying to push everyone in the right direction.

So surprising this is Mal’s debut novel because she smashed it out of the park.

This book was all about the instant attraction and falling hard and quick. I know that’s not for everyone but for me sometimes the slow burn is too long 😂 give me it all consuming and fast especially in books this length!

Our FMC Blythe is sassy and has some fire in her but we also see her vulnerability and lack of maturity or just that assuredness that comes with age. These things combined make you root for her because you love her personality but want to help her navigate life!

Justin our MMC is a whole lotta cowboy with a dirty mouth 😜 he’s a manly protector who wants to give you the world and protect you from it at the same time!

You can see and understand how their experiences in life have shaped them and had an effect on them, be that positively or negatively!

There was a part of the plot that I thought wasn’t going to get wrapped up and it then it all escalated in the last few chapters of the book - talk about nail biting stuff!!!

Special mention for Bear 🐶 😍 the best MDC (main dog character) there is!

The supporting characters are well written and they play their parts accordingly!

Well done to the author on her debut novel and thank you for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you Mallory Meyers for my copy of Forged In Montana. 🤍 I received this book for review, all opinions are my own and given freely.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate Mallory on her debut novel! Forged In Montana contains some heavy topics, check triggers if you’re someone that has them. It’s a slow burn and doesn’t carry a whole lot of spice. It’s told in third person POV. I got some Yellowstone Vibes from it. Tropes include found family, touch her and 💀, virgin FMC, age gap.

Blythe and Justin have a pretty comical meet cute. Blythe is running from a broken engagement in the city. I loved that she was a true country girl at heart and fell right into place being on her uncles ranch. Justin has the patience of a saint. There’s a 10 year age gap between them so perhaps that’s why he was so willing to extend so much patience and understanding to Blythe. Plus, Justin had his fair share of traumatic history. My heart broke for him. I was swearing he better get the HEA he deserves and was nervous for a moment there towards the end. 😂 Overall, this was a cute, easy read. This is the first book in Mallory’s Silo Springs Ranch series and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next.

This was such a cute, fun book!

It’s not super long so it’s a great pallet cleanser between longer reads or a break in between fantasy.

A cowboy with a backwards hat?! Sign me up please! Justin has some amazing moments and lines that will have you swooning.

Insta love and third person aren’t my favorite in books but this was done so well that I was never wanting to put the book down. I read it so easily and loved every second!
I’m a sucker for age gaps and banter and this has both!

I love when a MMC has a dog companion! Bear is the best 🥹

With the book being on the shorter side everything moves at a good pace and you don’t have any moments that feel slow or dragged out.

There could’ve been more on Max the asshat in the beginning to help have more reasons of why Blythe left him BUT kudos to Blythe for knowing what to accept and not accept in a relationship and being strong enough to walk away early on. You do get PLENTY at the end and moments sprinkled throughout, which helps you see how much of a dipshit Max is so good freaking riddance to him.

The last 20% or more was so good! The spice, the happily ever after, seeing how much of a dipshit Max is, the epilogue, I loved it all!!

This is such a great debut novel. I can’t wait to read more from Mallory!

ARC Review! Forged in Montana by @authormalmeyers ! Let me start off by saying that my kind is blown that this is her debut novel. Because you absolutely would not believe it by picking it up and reading it! I've been waiting my whole life for this book. Just kidding. But the months I have been waiting have felt like years 😂. But it was well worth the wait! I won't lie, I'll just say it: Favorite 👏 Cowboy 👏 Romance 👏 To date 👏! Blythe is one of the most relatable FMCs. And when MC Justin speaks....well...you listen. 😉 If you like small town romances, cowboy romances, or a good talker, this one is for you. (And you know I am a sucker for a good found family trope!). Available on Kindle April 10th! Now are we ready for some reels with some of my favorite quotes? (Which is basically the whole book! 😅)

Forged in Montana is such a delightful and quick read! With muscular cowboy arms and a protective soul, this book is a must-read for anyone who loves a good romance. I found myself smiling, crying, and then smiling again—all within just 15 minutes! Kudos to the author on a fantastic debut novel!

The story follows Blythe as she escapes a painful past and seeks a fresh start in Silo Springs, Montana, a place she has always considered home. Little does she know that her journey will lead her to Justin Forge, a charming and protective cowboy who works on her uncle’s ranch. Their chemistry is undeniable from their very first meeting, and the connection they share only grows stronger as they navigate the complexities of life together.

This book artfully weaves together themes of trauma, an age gap romance, and the charm of small-town life, making it a well-rounded experience for readers. If you're looking for a story that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you with a smile, Forged in Montana is definitely for you!

Ladies and Gents! This book! My goodness! It is what my green flag, cowboy loving self needed!

Justin Forge and Blythe Harper are soul mates, and they love each other so deeply. Yes, there were hiccups, but what good relationship doesn’t have a hiccup or two?

The banter between the two of them was perfection 👌🏻 and getting to see Blythe come out of her shell? I won’t forget it any time soon. Everyone needs to know that they can be loved deeply. They deserve to have someone love them deeply, and that is what Justin does.

I am so proud of both of them! They learned how to stand up for themselves, even though it looked differently for both of them, but it led them to each other 💜

And that ending? Well done Mal, well done 👏🏻 This book will have you feeling all your feels, and you may even shed a tear or two - I certainly did. But you don’t want to miss out on this one!

What a rollercoaster this story is!
Blythe is a twenty-year-old woman, who took some bad decisions in life, but as mature as she is, she decides to start all over again, and go back to the place that have seen her smile more than once, a place she knows too well, a place that smells like home. Silo springs.
But silo springs feels different now that she has grown up, because there’s the presence of a certain cowboy, someone flirty, older, skillful, gorgeous, a real man, so different from the men she has seen in her life… and they fall, they fall hard.

This is an emotional slow burn story, with ups and downs, cries and laughs, and drama scenes that will captivate you.

The storytelling of this author is beautiful and easy to follow, like when your girlfriend sends you a long text of everything that has happened to her and you read the whole thing without hesitation!

The story is written from a third person’s perspective, and even if you are not used to it, don’t let it scare you. Grab this book and have some fun!
