Where do I start with this?

After a portal is opened in the distant past, humans and monsters breed. These demi-humans form pro wrestling federations because of course they do. Tirol, a young wrestler, has one head that resembles a human female with dog ears and two dog heads. Kayla, leader of the federation Tirol belongs to, has the upper half of a buxom woman and the lower half of an octopus, and she's eager to teach Tirol more than wrestling.

Lots of T & T & A in this. The extra T is for Tentacles. There's a Parental Advisory on the cover but this is exactly the kind of comic you wouldn't want your parents catching you reading. While it's not purely a stroke book, it definitely veers into late night Cinemax territory.

There's a little bit of wrestling but the book is mostly about Monster Girls getting in compromising situations with each other. I quickly realized I'm a couple decades past the optimal reading age.

The art is pretty, although there were times I couldn't quite figure out what was happening. Some color would have clarified things. Lots of tentacles and mashed boobs in this. Gamarei puts in a commendable effort in trying to make Kayla's tentacles look sexy but it comes across as her having multiple shapely asses. It's... weird.

I won't say Monster Wrestling: Interspecies Combat Girls is bad but I couldn't really take it seriously. Probably an age thing. 2 out of 5 stars.

I want to say I'm not really into monster-girl stuff, but I guess it is true I own quite a bit of the "classic" (can it be called that?) MonMusu manga. I'm pretty sure, though I can't be 100% certain, I bought this manga simply for the tits and maybe tummy and thighs on the cover, and less so for the actual monster-girl theme. But it was also four years ago that I bought this volume (November 2020), and it's been in its plastic wrap until just today. So. I don't think I can really be expected to remember why I bought it exactly.

Monsters or no, there is definitely a specific appeal to this manga. The girls' bodies feel inspired by Raita. I see Pochi in their faces, or at least the eyes. And maybe a dash of Asanagi in some of the facial expressions. Clothes are ripped in combat. The fact that the girls are fighting each other necessitates a "ryona" element. This is niche on top of niche on top of niche.

We get a few different types of monsters through the major characters of this volume. Cerberus, Kraken, Centaur, Dryad, Spider, Harpy, Cyclops, Lamia(?), Succubus(?), Slime. The first major antagonist is a snake-girl of sorts, but is actually a descendant of the Azhi Dahaka of Iranian myth. So, kind of a dragon, kind of a snake. The wrestling arena announcer is some kind of demon girl, whom I assume to be a succubus based on a resemblance to Lilith from Capcom's Vampire. The Cerberus basically works like Kobold characters in other monster-girl manga (that is, she's a dog-girl), except she also has two cartoonish dog heads on her shoulders. Everyone else works the way you'd expect.

Urus the centaur is weird to me because... I just cannot fuck with centaur girls. The horse parts gross me out. Because they're just actual horse parts. Like, the spider and harpy "work" because there simply are not spiders or birds that big. Urus's backside is the size of a regular horse. More "real" than "fantasy," and it floats too close to bestiality lol. One thing that's cool is Urus's front legs are human legs, which is different from e.g. Cerea from MonMusu.

I would like to see more of Nacha and Pippy going forward, because I like Aranea and Papi from MonMusu.

Something odd: there's no real nudity here.

The focus on Tirol's ass, thighs, and crotch when the Clutch is performed, with special mention of her bikini or whatever cutting pretty deeply into her cunt. Also her underboob.

I'm pretty disappointed with this manga. I'm a huge fan of monsters, which is why I was excited to see a manga centered around monster wrestling. However, the art is average at best and it's really difficult to tell what's happening during the action scenes because of the characters' designs and characters' positions. Also, while I understand that this series will contain explicit content, some of the more sexual scenes were pretty disturbing and took me out of the action. That being said, I do like some of the characters' designs and I like the inclusion of all kinds of monsters, such as harpies and the kraken. Sadly, I did not enjoy this first volume and will not be continuing with this series. Maybe others will enjoy it, it's just not for me.

Цей том знайомить нас із світом, де змішані бойові мистецтва й рестлінг перетворені на арену для монстродівчат із неймовірними здібностями. Головна героїня, Тіроль, молода дівчина-церберка, мріє про славу на рингу, хоча зазвичай є фізично слабкою та невпевненою. Її доля змінюється, коли її підбирає кракен-гібридка Кайла — досвідчена рестлерка та наставниця, яка показує Тіроль світ Монстреслінгу. Також ми побачили, що в середині Тіроль приховане внутрішнє чудовисько, яке вона боїться випустити на волю. Це створює яку не яку драматичну напругу між контролем і силою, що зростає всередині неї.

Сюжет у першому томі доволі класичний. Історія про слабку бійчиню, яка прагне стати кращою, тренується та поступово набирає силу, щоб змагатися на великому турнірі. Хоча історія не вигадлива та не пропонує глибокого сюжету, вона вміло поєднує спортивні сцени з елементами монстро-еротики.

Персонажі досить різноманітні та запам’ятовуються не лише своїм дизайном, а й особливими бойовими стилями та характерами. Проте, не сказав би, що вдалося розкрити багатьох героїнь, окрім Тіроль. Тож деякі потенційно цікаві аспекти героїнь залишаються нерозвиненими. Також варто звернути увагу на взаємини Тіроль та Кайли, які розкривають близькість між головними героїнями.

Стиль Ґанмарея доволі контрастний: у спокійні моменти він темний і атмосферний, у бойових — динамічний і яскравий. Але часом надто ексцентричний, що ускладнює сприйняття й розуміння боїв. У дизайні мон��тродівчат відчувається уява художника, від класичних гібридів до більш абстрактних форм, які часом важко одразу зрозуміти на сторінці. Але зупинившись і довше розглядаючи малюнок, помічаєш багато різного й цікавого 🥰

Загалом манґа може здатися дивною, але в ній є своя чарівність. Поєднання рестлінгу, фентезійних монстродівчат і щедрої порції фансервісу створює унікальне видовище, яке варто спробувати побачити. Та й яка доля чекає Тіроль. Цікаво ж...

I don't even know where to begin with this book. I picked it up because of the monster girls, and the fact that the protagonist was interesting looking, and then promptly regretted purchasing the book once I started reading.

First off, the art. It is... different. It works really well for some aspects, but those aspects are very small and few/far between. In pretty much every way, the art feels like a visual mess on the page, often being overly complex and contorted, often failing to convey what the artist is trying to show. The monster girls themselves have proportions that change frame to frame and are often acting like they have no underlying skeletal structure or respect for how a body is supposed to move. There are frames where I had to actually stare at them to figure out how things were put together because it made no sense, and I have a fine art degree...

The writing is the reason I didn't give this manga one star. The concept of the story is interesting enough, and the dialogue isn't too bad. In the writer's afterword he mentions that originally they wanted to do a mixed martial arts, and their editor suggested wrestling instead. Yeah, in this case the editor chose wrong. This story would have been far better if it was mixed martial arts, and would have been interesting to see which species developed what martial art. As it is, it feels more like a brawl than anything wrestling related...

In the end, I don't recommend this manga to anyone, even monster girl enthusiasts. If the artist was different, then perhaps it would be a far better tale and a far nicer book, but as it is, it's just a mess visually with far too much attention given to various unrealistic poses, breasts that look terrible, and more sexuality than even the WWE puts into their women/women matches. There are better monstergirl mangas out there, save yourself and check them out.

Welp, this was sadly not too good. I came across this one when I was looking at what was recommended after reading Ishuzoku Reviewers and thought it looked interesting... well.. somewhere? But not much. The idea of wrestling and demi-humans seemed interesting but the execution lacked, not to mention that the action scenes? Everything just blended together. I didn't really see what was a boob, what was an arm, and in some cases what a tentacle was. :P
The boob-physiques (and any boob-related thing), holy crap, that is not how boobs work. Nope. I felt so much pain in my own boobs seeing these boobs get crushed, flopping around, wrapped in tentacles, oh lord. OUCH.
I was interested in Tirol and her powers. Kayla was interesting. I loved seeing them together.
All the ahegao faces were just hilarious. :P

Monster Masume X Killing Bites?

Just in case you miss it the book has a warning in the upper right corner saying "Parental Advisory *Warning* Explicit Content" and that is for very good reason. Honestly I am surprised I liked this book nearly as well as I did considering it is less actual wrestling then monster girls showing off their combat abilities in the ring thanks to whichever monster in the past did the nasty with their ancestors to make the demi-human's that inhabit the modern world. That means the main girl is the descendent of a three headed dog who got it on with a human sometime in the past which is kind of horrifying. In addition even though this is not a hentai manga there are plenty of moments where not only are the various monster girls put into compromisingly erotic situations (such as bondage) often resulting in an assortment of ahegao moments but there are also some moments vore and gore in the fight scenes so be sure to be careful if you are not able to handle such things.

That said I do like an underdog story (literally this time) which is what I get with poor Tirol who is kind and not very strong normally but when she is saved from a life on the streets by the Kraken Hybrid Kayla, who is the face and mentor of the Bellezza wrestling group, she is swept up in the world of MonWres. Hidden within her is a dangerous beast she is afraid to let loose so her abilities are hindered but you can always count on Tirol when things seem their worse. In addition to the story I liked the various characters who each have their own quirks that I hope grow more as the series continues as well as the interesting art style which can simultaneously be dark and amusing at any given moment. :)

I picked this up during a trip to a bookstore that actually had a sizable manga section--Barnes & Noble, I think. In addition to a penchant for buying sprees, when I'm confronted with a manga selection I can physically browse, I have a bit of a weakness for monster girls. And Monster Wrestling looked like it may have had more of a plot than, say, Monster Musume. Plus, I've been an off-and-on wrestling fan since the '90s, so I figured it was worth a shot. The end result is...neither as good as I was hoping, nor as bad as I was afraid of.

There is a plot, revolving around Tirol, a cerberus girl who's the greenest member of a team trying to make a name for itself in the big monster wrestling circuit. She wants to get better in the ring, without relying on the uncontrollable rage lying deep within her. It's a surprisingly shonen-type of storyline for a series that's largely softcore hentai. It's nothing revolutionary, but when it works, it has nice nods toward the kinds of crazy plots you see in real-world pro wrestling.

But I mentioned hentai, and I can't really let that pass without talking about the art. Once again, when it works, it's pretty good. But when it doesn't... I had trouble parsing the basic anatomy of some of the characters for quite awhile--and not just in a "their spines shouldn't bend that way," sense; I get that those panels are stylistically exaggerated. But just as one example, there's an antagonist who I thought was your standard lamia: human torso, but a snake from the waist down. It wasn't until a good way into that particular fight, that I realized she was less upper half human/lower half snake, and more a human torso sort of sprouting from the back of a snake--there's a large snake mouth attached to the snake body, below her waist. If that sounds confusing to imagine, it's not much clearer on the page for most of her time in the book. Also, Kayla's (the kraken girl) multiple butts where her tentacles meet her waist are less sexy, and more weird.

Which brings us to the hentai angle, itself. For the life of me, I've never understood an artist going through so much effort to draw characters in very compromising positions (thus guaranteeing an adult rating anyway), but not actually showing anything. Various body parts are sometimes outlined behind thin strips of clothing, or behind bubbles/slime/etc., but there's never full-on nudity. I mean, anyone who's reading this is (ideally) an adult, who knows from the rating what to expect, so why hold back? It just makes most of the adult scenes feel more forced, and ultimately pointless.

Still, I didn't find myself disliking Monster Wrestling. The characters are very diverse, the action's fine (when you can tell what's going on), and I even learned a bit about mythology from one of the characters. But still, it doesn't do anything to stand out as either an action series, a sports series, or a fanservice series. And at $13.00 a volume, I'd be hard-pressed to continue with it, unless I found the next installment on a hefty sale.

I love monster people, I want to start with that.
HOWEVER
More than one of the poses had me questioning what I was even looking at when I came to any sort of anatomy. I know they are monsters but some pictures just looked like blobs and random lines.
Weirdly for all the poses and O faces, no "true" nudity is shown. Like, if you go that far, just show nipples, what's the point?
The art is fine, not my favorite, but fine.
I picked this up for the idea of hot monster girls fighting, but I couldn't understand half of the scenes other than random faces and poses that toed the nudity line.

To be honest this is probably closer to one and ahalf stars for me this just feels a little too fan service for me. The idea behind the book is what drew me in though it gets old pretty quick the art style is kind of all over the place the story really doesn’t hold together very well and gets really boring about halfway through this could’ve been a lot better but in the end it was more just disappointing than anything else I definitely wouldn’t recommend this.

The art style feels anatomically incorrect and the plot feels reminiscent of a tamer shonen, nevertheless, I bought the first two issues and had to look one of my older coworkers in the eyes while I purchased this smut. I would do it again too, that's how good this manga is and how little shame I have.

Lots of nudity and sexual content. Not much story telling or intrigue that makes me invested in the characters or their development.

So good for pornography but bad for invented storytelling. The only think I'm interested in is seeing kayla and tirol confess their love and kiss!
