Irresistible Dragons #7

Dragon's Revenge

Rate this book
Oliver is worried he’s ruined any chance of a relationship between Adar, Delton, and him. One moment of not thinking, one moment of saying too much, and he betrayed Delton’s confidence and Adar’s trust in him. Can this ever be repaired?

Hope sparks in Oliver as Delton decides to stay rather than leave the pack and Adar seems determined to build at least a friendship with Delton. Slowly, the three are making progress, growing closer.

But Adar has vowed to avenge Oliver, and when he gets a chance to fight the man who inflicted so much pain on Oliver, he takes it. When Dempsey fights dirty, does Adar stand a chance?

Meanwhile, the pack struggles with their alpha’s disappearance in arctic Sweden. Will Rhene make his way home to his pack…and his family?

Dragon’s Revenge is the seventh book in the Irresistible Dragons series, a series that needs to be read in order or it won’t make much sense. Please do mind the trigger warnings. The book ends with an HEA, but the series itself will continue.

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?

The short? You got it.

I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.

How was that?

A little more detail? Gotcha.

I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.

My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.

Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

it seems like an age since the last entry in the Irresistible Dragons series so I very much appreciated the "here's what you missed" style update at the start!

Once I read the first couple of chapters though it all came back to me and I was pleased to be catching up with the second half of Adar, Oliver and Delton's relationship developments.

The secondary plot involves Rhene being stuck in Sweden still with the Dragon Hunter and a separate mission to go rescue the rest of the Murphy omegas who didn't arrive with the others following the Dragon Conclave.

I liked that it took time for the fallout of Oliver's actions, well meant as they were, to be forgiven and moved on from.

Both Oliver and Adar needed to work on repairing the hurt they'd inadvertently caused Delton, but he also had to recognise his own shortcomings when it came to how he'd put Adar on a pedestal and hadn't recognised how Oliver was trying to help.

Of course there's stumbles along the way to each of them realising they are a triad but it all works out in the end.

I won't spoil any of the secondary plot which is tied in to the series long arc, but it provides some surprises and another cliffhanger for that element.

The romance itself is all nicely wrapped up though and in a way which is properly equal on all sides of the triad, each one of them knows how important the others are to them working together.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series following the twist at the end here!

A MMM Omegaverse romance with dragon shifters, wolf shifters, a magical ploy, prophecies, rescue & a heartbreaking love triangle finally becoming a triad 🥳!
I'd been low-key checking this series out & been biding my time to binge it someday as I did with Irresistible Omegas in a week lol. But with (a) how the previous book ended on a cliffhanger for these 3, (b) the more than 1 year wait, (c) how excited I was for this; I just dived into this & devoured it fully in like 10hrs over 2days. So ya, this became the 1st book of the series I've read all way through 😅. I LOVE this found family of packs/clan 😭❤️.

Oliver the Dragon omega who's traumatized but learning to stand up for himself. Adar the wolf alpha who's oblivious & not good with words yet has a honorable heart. Delton the wolf beta who's caring & listens but is never chosen himself. All the hurt in previous book, hardships & angst, culminates here!

These 3, omfg made me sob multiple times, I was teary eyed almost all the way through. My heart hurts for Del so much 😭. I was all for his choices & loved to see Adar & Oli do GROVELLING!! It was a lot of 1-on-1 before triad scenes, loved em both. So much we see on page & yet I wanted those off page scenes too 🤣. Flowers, Dinners, the cathartic cries 🥺, revenge 😈. Those asshole dragon enemies are such bastards!!

While it has spice, I'll say it's low. I totally get Oli for that & I hope if he ever gets ok with more, we see that too! D+A are hotties & I love vers action 😍. Realisations that they actually are mates made me sigh in relief lol. I'd've liked to see even more of 'em as trio, especially after all the hurt. They're cute & I'm so glad to see 'em together finally.

We got Rhene & Erwan's stories too (among other POVs), it is fun how Nora integrates them into the story! I'm so curious about Duff, especially after that epilogue! I wonder who'd be the next triad? But I'm not sure when's next coming 😭. Plus I can't help but wonder if R+E'll get another book or another mate 🙈. Also, I NEED a 2nd gen storyline series too because I'M HERE FOR Hakon & Ainle, omg the forbidden nature (yet not..) is making me salivate for that story 🤤. You can't dangle it & not deliver 😳.

Story ratings: Enjoyed—> So much!! 5💞/5

POV: 3rd Person, Multiple POVs
1) The Characters & relationship: 4.75/5
2) The feels: 😭😆😌🤭😬😢🤗☺️😅😁🥰😳🤕🤧😋🥵🥺😍😳
3) Sexy/Steamy scenes: 2.75/5
4) Levels: Moderate (🥺) Angst, Very Cute, Moderate Dark
5) Build up & Style: 4.5/5

These are my turn-my-brain-off-and-relax-books. I think the quality of the romance and spice has declined a bit since the first installments. The relationships becoming a little repetitive as the series progress, but the overarching story of the dragon and wolf shifters is interesting.

Although the characters are not the most fleshed out I've seen in literature, they are definitely not the worst either and I love living in their pack utopia of understanding and communication.

I have enjoyed getting to know all the different characters, I just wish the main plot would connect more with each book's particular relationship.

Wow….It’s been a minute!! I have to say due to the length of time between releases, I had a hard time getting back into the story…It was good to see Adar, Oliver & Delton again! Their journey to their HEA seemed like it went from a crawl to a sprint. The series also feels like it’s morphing and losing some of the DNA that made me love it…almost like the romance and connections are forced and the mystery and drama of the over arcing plot is flowing more freely. Unlike the earlier books in the series, I wasn’t as quick to start reading the last few stories and this one felt like Adar, Oliver & Delton got a quick trip to HEA land of without the build up or journey.

"𝑽𝒖𝒍𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔"
That was the massage that this book has successfully delivered to me as a reader ❤️.
It was sooooo amazing that I was struggling physically to put my kindle down📱, and after I have finished it, I was SPEECHLESS 😶. I can't find the words to describe it's beauty 😍.
We continue our journey with our favourite three characters Adar, Deltion and Oliver, we can see how there characters have been evolved and they found there way to each other and become each other pillar 🫂, and how there hard journey helped them to find themselves and overcome many obstacles that threaten there life together 🥺but in the end they returned to each other embrace and there love become much much more stronger ♥️.
Although Adar was the major idiot of the story 😮‍💨😑, he was the first to acknowledge his own mistakes and apologised for it by doing whatever it takes to fix them ❤️, loved how he put soooo much effort to win Delton's heart back (that bouquet of flower was everything 💐), he even sacrificed his own pride as an alpha 🐺And went to Sivney for advice, and we all now how Sivney can be scary 😂, which was hilarious by the way LOL 🤣🤣.
Adar was good with his action more than his words, because his heart🫀 was what lead him not his brain 🧠.
When he avenged Oliver 👊 I was literally cheering 📣for him so hard that I almost broke my kindle 🤣( my poor kindle I promise I will treat you better-Ish) 🤣. When he lend his shoulder to Delton to cry his heart out (which was very heart breaking 😭), it was so sweet and supportive of him 🫂.

Delton is the most kindest, patient, sweetest and beautiful person ever🌷, he is pure both in the inside and the outside ❤️, he has a heart of gold 💛.
It broke me to pieces watching this beautiful beautiful man crying his soul out in Adar's lap 😭, all because he felt that he will never be loved and will always be alone 💔, I cried buckets in that scene 😭😭.
It was hot when he yelled at Erwen and forced him to heal Adar🔥.
Oliver's character development was very good ❤️, it was beautiful💜 yet heartbreaking watching him finding himself and overcoming his trauma ❤️, he has suffered enough and lost all kind of hope in living 😢it was super sad 😔, but with Adar protection and Delton patient he started to heal ♥️and I can't wait to see more of him.
I quite enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next one 🔥I'm literally on fire for the next books of the series ❤️‍🔥and see more of Adar, Delton and Oliver development 💜.

This is my review for both of the Oliver/Adar/Delton books.

I think these books should have been split up differently, I think the love story and the over arching plot story lines should have been two separate books instead of both being told at once. They weren't as related as they were in past books in this series, and that made switching between them annoying. For most of the two books the two plot lines have almost nothing to do with each other.

It also pissed me off that Delton was fucked over in the relationship department. He could have done better, fated mated or not, cause Adar and Oliver treated him terribly as a fated mate.

Dragon’s Revenge
Irresistible Dragons, Book 7
By: Nora Phoenix
Narrated by: John Solo

I have been missing these incredible characters, the irresistible dragons and wolves, as well as the equally incredible world Nora Phoenix created. Following closely on the heels of “Dragon’s Surprise,” “Dragon’s Revenge” is a thrilling listen that I couldn’t put down. This story picks up with a gripping continuation of the series, a multi-layered story and we get answers, but it also raises more questions about what happens next. Adar, Delton and Oliver’s story continues, and while it has not been easy for them, especially Oliver, I loved watching how much they have grown individually and together. You could feel the love poured into their story; its emotions flowed from the pages and straight to your heart. And after that cliffhanger ending of the previous book, we learn the dilemma Rhene has found himself in, and what happens next and to him. The ongoing conflict amongst the clans continues and there is something is brewing, no spoilers here, but that ending my raised eyebrow, and has left me wondering what is in store for the irresistible dragons and the pack. Well done, Nora Phoenix, extremely well done, thanks for another brilliant story and emotional rollercoaster ride. Nora Phoenix’s writing and stories never cease to amaze me, they are escapism at its finest!

🎧📚🎧 And John Solo is another who never ceases to amaze me, with his ability to voice multiple characters with their own unique voice is incredible. He falls naturally into each role and I love how he takes ownership of them all, sounding believable and just as I imagine the characters to sound. Grasping every aspect of his characters’ personality, he delivers a spot on portrayal of each. You could hear how much heart he puts into his performance as he captures all the characters’ emotions, having you feel them all. John Solo is an entertaining storyteller and his captivating performance keeps you riveted to the story.

I knew Adar, Oliver, and Delton had a lot of healing and self-reflection to do if they were going to salvage their relationship, and I thoroughly enjoyed this second half of their journey. All three men approached their fresh start with sincerity and open honesty, and it was wonderful to see them make deeper connections with each other as a result. Adar learned to be more intentional about his words and actions, Oliver grew comfortable using his voice, and Delton courageously opened his heart to love again after it'd been bruised the first time around. I found it easy to stay engaged in their relationship building, and with so much going on outside of the individual romances there was plenty to keep me invested in the entire pack and clan. This book provided the resolution to the Dragon Council plotline, set in motion another rescue mission for mistreated omegas, and laid the groundwork for a new conflict between the clan and the dragon slayers. I like the way Nora Phoenix structured the story to contain chapters from multiple perspectives in the clan, not just Delton, Oliver, and Adar, and it's been a joy to see how those earlier relationships have evolved and strengthened with time. Every time I finish one of these books I feel like I've uncovered just as many new questions as I have answers to the previous ones, but for me that's part of the fun of watching this universe expand with new allies and enemies. I'm eager to see which of the many lovable characters will have their story told next, and I know I can count on Nora to deliver a satisfying and sweet resolution to any relationship conflicts that arise.

**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Please note that this book is part of an interconnected series and shouldn't be read out of order.

Dragon's Revenge was a long awaited and sweet conclusion to Adar, Delton & Oliver's relationship!

It took me a bit to get back into the plot and setting, as it had been a while since the last story was released, but the brief summary at the beginning really helped - and it wasn't long before I was back on track and caught up with everything going on.

From Dragon's Surprise it was clear that Adar, Delton and Oliver still had a long way to go, there were some broken trust, hurt feelings and Delton wasn't even sure about the three of them being fated for each other. I think Nora Phoenix did a great job of writing their relationship development here, and even if I still felt like they had some work to do before things would feel more solid and established between them, I was very happy with how things turned out.

They were so sweet together, and I liked how Adar and Delton took time to get to know each other. They needed the time to connect and come to terms with being fated mates, and both Adar and Oliver had some grovelling to do as well. The slow progression worked well for them, as it was something all three needed, and I loved seeing their cute dates and dinners.

The overarching plot kept up the suspense here, and I liked how the situation with Rhene played out. The rescue mission had me on my toes, and I'm very curious to see what the dragon slayer will bring in the next story. I certainly didn't get the best vibes from him... I love the kind of sanctuary that the pack land is turning into though, and I can't wait to see the new omegas get settled in.

Dragon's Revenge was a highly anticipated read for me, and I really enjoyed the continuation of Adar, Delton and Oliver's relationship! It had all the usual things that I've come to expect from this series: suspense, hurt / comfort, found family / pack dynamic, and frustratingly vague prophecies. I can't wait for the next story, and I already love and look forward to seeing more of Zack!

STREPITOSO ❤️❤️❤️

A Joyfully Jay review.

Dragon’s Revenge is a direct sequel to Dragon’s Surprise and the whole of the Irresistible Dragons series needs to be read in order. While each book, or two in some cases like this, features one relationship, the larger through plot continues as the dragons struggle to not only make amends, but create a better future, with the wolf pack at their side. This series is one where you definitely need to heed the trigger warnings, as it deals with themes of sexual, physical, and mental abuse, as well as violence.

It’s been more than a year since the previous book came out and I admittedly struggled just a bit jumping back into the series. While I had no problem remembering the high stakes that Phoenix left us with, some of the finer details got lost in the wait. There is a huge cast of characters, and I mean HUGE, with not only a large pack, tons of new omegas, but the Hayes pack as well.

This book leaves us on a new cliff, which is to be expected. I’m not sure how many books the author plans for this series. Part of the story feels like it’s coming to a head, while at the same time, it feels like the solution is a long way off.

The long awaited next installment of Nora Phoenix’s Irresistible Dragons series, Dragon’s Revenge, is here. Like all the books in this series, there is the character driven main arc and the overarching storyline of the entire series.

Dragon’s Revenge is the second book in the relationship arc of Delton, Adar and Oliver, where bonds and the concept of fated mates are tested. Nora Phoenix is skilled a weaving a truly emotionally intense storyline with the backdrop of complex dragon and pack politics. I love how characters from the earlier books in the series are never forgotten and still play an active role in the story.

Dragon’s Revenge is not only a satisfying conclusion to Delton, Adar, and Oliver's romantic arc, but the overall story arc deepens. It is a compelling read, but I would not recommend reading it as a standalone. Not only would you be completely lost in the romantic story of the main three MCs, but this is not a series that you can start mid-way, the overall story arc is too complex, with too many players, it is essential to understand the story history, with each book building onto the other.

It is worth the time to start from the beginning, if you do, you’ll find yourself immersed in a complex but fascinating fantasy world you’ll never want to leave.

I loved this story but I have to admit, I held off reading this for a few days after release because I had high hopes that it would come out in audio and I love the voices John Solo has given to these characters. I searched through the author's website and newsletters and there was no word on an audiobook, so (sigh) I had to READ it with my own eyes. Such a struggle. LOL. (I really missed John Solo.) But I loved it even without the narration and the voices are already pretty well in my mind so it wasn't too difficult to imagine them.

All this being said, it was lovely to revisit Adar, Oliver, and Delton and I did cheat a bit and relistened to the previous book before reading this so I could refresh my memory. It was super satisfying to see this threesome finally come together. But, over and above that, we got a resolution to Rhene's capture up in the icy Finland landscape and he finally makes it home to Erwan.

There's so much more about the abused omegas, the packs of wolves and the clans of dragons, and there's a new character introduced who has more of a role of villain. Keep an eye on that guy! More episodes will follow, per the author. I hope the next one isn't too far away. I totally enjoy this series and it always lifts my spirits. Can't wait for more!

This is the ongoing story about the Hightower pack and has an overall story arch so it is really important to read the books in order.
This is also the conclusion of Dragon's Surprise.

I really struggled with Dragon's Surprise as I couldn't see any future for Oliver, Delton and Adar. They just didn't click as a triad and I couldn't see any chemistry and I just started to dislike Oliver and Adar.

But this book definitely changed my views. I really like how Oliver and Adar looked very hard at themselves and realised what they did. It was not an easy way forward and especially Oliver's story is quite painful to read. The author clearly took great care in walking a fine line in ensuring telling Oliver as a character correctly and I appreciate that she didn't just fix him.

Slowly these three came to realise what they are to each other and how to move forward as a triad, with all their issues, hang ups, personalities and problems.

There is also an interesting twist to Rhene's disappearance with for me more questions than answers going forward.

The book has a HEA for Oliver, Denton and Adar but a cliffhanger for the overall story arch. I just hope the next installment comes quick.

If you haven’t already read the prior books stop and go read them. We met and saw the beginnings of Oliver, Adar and Delton’s relationship. Oliver does something that makes a mess out of their very fragile triad with Delton taking the brunt of it. We watch as Adar has his eyes opened and then trying to make amends.
This storyline was woven into the bigger story of Rhene being kidnapped. We see the kidnapper and why he has him. We watch Rhene work the problem and present a solution to his kidnapper. We see him return Rhene to the pact by he struggles with what he believes and what he sees as the truth. We also get to see the omegas that were rescued and how badly they were abused. In turn, they get to see Sivney an omega lead the pact and how they may have a new life with the Hightower pact.
There were cameos from the Hayes pact that brought things full circle.
The book ends in a surprise that sets up the next book which I so look forward to. So grab this book, get comfortable and enjoy the ride.

POV confusion

This is probably the only book series I read that has multiple points of view. I don’t remember there being so many In the other Irresistible books. I think there were seven?

The author seems very excited about Zach, a new character. Why do I think so? He was mentioned as being in two different places within a few paragraphs.

The relationship between Adar, Oliver and Delton was okay. For the most part it was sweet once it got started with a brief side of BDSM. (And a heck of a lot of talking about BDSM before that.)

I blew the whole thing about Rhene’s captivity up in my head which is why I didn’t read this book when it was released. For some reason I was thinking he was being tortured at the end of the last book.

This book is long for the genre and a lot happens. Like many unrelated things happen. Most authors have one thing they concentrate on in a book. Like one or two plots in a book. Not Nora Phoenix. Many plots and many characters. Careful you don’t get whiplash.

I have been listening to the series on Audible and the narration was perfect. You gould really tell the characters apart and they really came to life. This book continues the story with Adar, Oliver and Delton but we also get glimpses of what's going on throughout the pack aInd with the dragons. I love this series and can't get enough the emotional aspects along with the fated mate bonds give us such beautiful story but we also the struggles these men have feeling they are not enough or that they fit. I am so happy that Adar finally see's what we all have seen that Delton is in fact his fated mate along with Oliver. These three are all so accepting and loving when it comes to each other. While the stories really pull us towards one set of three we still get the suspense and mystery with the interconnected series. I have enjoyed it so much and can't wait to see where she is going to take us next.

Dragon’s Revenge was definitely different from the first six books.

This one focuses more on Oliver’s trauma and Delton’s relationship with both Oliver and Adar.

This is a slow burn and understandably so. There is so much hurt and baggage from all three MCs and it needed to be addressed before their relationship could develop.

I loved how Nora didn’t rush Oliver’s character into a fast healing. Trauma in general takes time to heal and Oliver’s was so deep it needed the appropriate attention.

Adar though fumbling a bit at first, was absolutely amazing with his mates. The way he makes sure his mates are happy by allowing them to be themselves and go at their own pace, is so sweet.

All three had hurdles to overcome, but their trust and love for each other made the journey a lot easier.

I love this series so much. I can’t wait for the next book!

I’m so happy to be back with this series! This was such a great read! Adar, Oliver, and Delton were such great characters! It did break my heart how Delton was treated at first but I believe they all grew from it and learned many things. I loved watching their relationship evolve! My heart breaks for Oliver and all the omegas! Zack seems amazing and I really hope he gets a story! I felt so bad for Rhene and Erwan also with what they both had to go through. I can’t wait to see what happens with Hakon! I loved that! This was a great addition to this amazing series and I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for more from these dragons and wolves! Very enjoyable and I highly recommend! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book

As amazing as the rest of the books in this series! I absolutely love that we get to see through previous characters pov as well as the main characters, but it also makes the plot and book seem a bit slow at times. I still think it's a fair trade to be able to get a glimpse of all the amazing characters though :)

This book was not as hot and sexy as the other ones, and the internal monologs was a little too long and repetitive at times. I still give it 5 stars though, because the world building and dynamics of the characters is still so different from any other series in the same genre and I absolutely can't wait for the next book! 🥰

I have been impatiently awaiting this one! Time for Oliver, Adar & Delton to repair damage and start to mend together. In their previous book they made a lot of not so good decisions and definitely hurt one another and their relationship. Here I was pleased to see them owning up to their mistakes and earning each other's love and trust. I found this to be such a realistic character journey. As usual I was in cameo heaven as I read all of Nora's series and love seeing familiar faces again and again. The overarching world building and how the characters mesh together is nothing short of amazing.

Our dragon and wolf series continues as we revisit the triad of Oliver, Adar, and Delton. Trying to make up for past mistakes and learn to move forward is challenging with all the issues happening in the pack/clan. Once again I am amazed at how Nora is able to keep so many moving parts together in her books, spinning them all into one cohesive story. Her ability to write and include so many different characters and so many different storylines and yet merge them all together is brilliant and beautiful.

I can truly say I love this series. One of the best thus far. Love how each character has such down to earth personalities and problems. This book felt with truth, recovering from assault and methods and outcomes that best help heal the soul. I want to see what turns out with the dragon hunter, did he find his mate, his triad, wow that would be crazy. But, I am happy for Adar, Oliver and Delton. they defiantly a different triad in this mix, which is great, you don't have to be intimate to be in love, I love that.
