Will Briscoe has had enough. For months his assistant has been toying with him and now he's about to break. A single weekend will be enough to cure him of his unwelcome obsession for her, he's certain. Two nights with Emma, that's all he needs. He lays out his plans and they fall into place. The weekend goes perfectly... until his redheaded spit-fire turns the tables on him.
SPOILERS AHEAD! YOU WERE WARNED! I thought this book was going to be awesome. But unfortunately the blog of the story is much better then the actual story. Story goes girl working for hero who after her contracts end wants to have a weekend of free sex with the heroine who of course being stupid says "why not!" So they have sex condom breaks but she is not pregnant because he was not putting up with her Virgin stupidity for not having the foresight of going on the pill for his weekend fuckfest. WTF like she would know he would manipulate her for his own end and bang her just to get it out of his system. The story just goes from bad to worst with blackmail and sex with the "hero" getting everything he wants while she just about had her heart on her sleeve. Good God, if she had left before she found out that he manipulated her all along, maybe I would have had some respect for her. I say maybe. I guess he just pissed me off how he just told her what to do how to dress and how to behave. It was insulting and disgusting! NOT MY CUP! Will not read again.

This is a must read for fans of Lynda Chance. I felt like the H was exactly the kind that she writes. He was so OTT possessive and obsessive. While this wasn't a perfect story I did take an extra star off bc of the h. She had too much to lose sleeping with her boss but she did it anyway. She jumped right into wearing someone else's sexy clothes. It made her seem like an opportunist. Definitely won't be my last book by this author. She is now on my radar.
I don't think this is for you, lol. Shoot, it wasn't for me, either. I felt the entire storyline was uncomfortable and I didn't care for the way the hero treated the heroine.
Fans of Lynda Chance will like this little book ditty by Sasha Gold - A bossy alpha lawyer on hot pursuit of an intern after she finishes her summer position. I thought the story could have been fleshed out a bit more but it will be on my reread pile anytime I am wanting to spend an afternoon with a bossy alpha hero. Book was free on Amazon today.
2.5 stars. Sth felt off but I was not quite sure what exactly it was. Didn't understand when did they fall in love and how did H solve h's problems. And both of their personalities were not admirable at all.
Will and Emma. Emma's temp job for Will is almost over, except for a quick business trip to San Francisco. Will is determined to finally have Emma underneath him, now that she won't be his employee anymore. Things get out of hand and Emma runs off only to be dragged back and blackmailed into a sexual relationship with Will. This is where the story really starts to fall apart for me. The hero is dominant, possessive and protective, but not tender. In fact he's kind of emotionally abusive. But I was willing to let is slide and hold back my moral huff until I saw what happened. It's a short story after all. The ending though, was so disappointing. Like the last book I read by the author, there was a complete 180 change of heart by both characters without any warning and without any 'much needed grovelling' by the hero. I just didn't feel the love. Very little is revealed about Will to the reader or to the heroine. A wee hint here and there that is never pursued. He was pretty much a cardboard cutout.
Its funny how just the simple actions that speak louder than words can make or break a hero. Even though will said things like "I need to get you out of my system" or Once this is over Or We don't need labels... You're just mine
He never once pushed her away. He wanted her with him 24/7. There was a little plot hole regarding his working later.. Acting strange... Then suddenly moving up where she left him to go.. I wanted to see what he had been going... Maybe he was trying to tie up his work to move? Maybe Sasha could have shown his "changing mind to wanting forever" not just fast forwarding to the epilogue. But still very sexy and satisfying anti hero who still made me swoon.
This was a great little nugget. Not too much angst, it was a fast read with plenty of crackle and pop. Will maneuvers Emma into bed, thinking that a couple of days will get her out of his system. Then he needs a semester. Pretty soon he can’t live without her.
No ow/om nonsense, a satisfying HEA and a heroine who only belongs to the hero—fun and steamy!
The ending was too rushed. There were loose ends that bugged me enough to consider this an incomplete project. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because I liked the book up until the end and even though it left loose ends flying in the wind so to speak, it did have an epilogue.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
This was written like an old school Harlequin, the hero is a alphahole and the heroine has major BBS and forgives to easily. Emma has one more semester left to graduate, she had to take time off from school to take care of her sick grandmother. When she passed Emma returned to school and hopes after she graduates she can go back to run her family ranch. She’s currently works as a temp at Will’s law firm. He’s a big alphahole but works well with Emma, she’s smart and has helped him close many businesses deals. He is very attracted to her but does not sleep with employees, but since her contract is done and she’s joining him on the last business trip outside her temp contract he thinks it’s ok to make his move. He just wants a taste of her to get her out of his system. The trip starts off rocky when Emma is a little late to the gate cause she spilled coffee on her blouse. Will is peeved because he was stuck in traffic due to an accident, the car involved looked like Emma’s old truck and he was freaked out thinking it was her. He clearly doesn’t understand his depth of feelings for her. He does ask her to pretend to be his fiancé and gives her a huge diamond ring. When they leave the flight at their destination Emma has the wrong suitcase. Her business cloths have been replaced with sexy dresses and lingerie. Will is happy to see her in the new sexy outfits. After their meeting is over they go back to the penthouse where they have their first time. Emma thought she had sex before, during high school she had an unfortunate experience with a boy, while trying to give him oral she gagged and threw up then passed out. The boy claimed she was a bad lay and that was the end of her dating in her small town. So when Will sees blood on the sheets he demands to know if she was a virgin. She doesn’t understand why he’s so upset, they used a condom. He tells her the condom broke and says some very ugly things. When he steps out she makes her escape. She pawns the ring and heads to the airport. Hours later she arrives home to find Will in her apartment. He tells her she basically stole from him. The ring was almost $800,000, he blackmails her into staying with him to recover the cost. He’s to full of himself to realize that he just wants to take care of her, get her out of her unsafe crappy apartment and provide for her, especially if she could be pregnant. She moves in, finds out she’s not pregnant, gets on the pill and waits till Dr. says they are in the safe zone for sex. He treats her well but at random times says some assholy stuff. They finally have sex again and the pattern of treats her well says assholy things continue. He does tell her he’s in love with her! She does not say it back. When she says she wants them to visit her ranch he shoots it down telling her that is separate from his life with her in town. He starts to distance himself from her and she thinks their time together is coming to an end. After she submits her last school assignment she leaves for the ranch. When she meets with the bank for a loan to restart the ranch she finds out Will has put a lien on the property. When he calls and tells her she needs to come home she tells him no. He says he’s coming to her and she tells him to stay home. They talk more and Emma tells him she loves him too. He shows up and they make up. Epilogue two years later with her pregnant and him working the ranch with her. Will was such a jerk to her at times, he really could not understand his feelings for her. Then was hurt and withdrew a little when she does not say it back, which I understood. Not sure why she doesn’t say I love you back, she clearly does and gives into him every time he wants sex.

Will...not really a fan. Luckily Emma stands up to him, or else this would have been less stars. She interns for him at his law firm and is getting ready to start back to college for her last semester. He takes her with him for one last client meeting and so he could spend the whole weekend with her. He’s always wanted her and she wants him too. So, this was the first part that upset me, he treats her terrible the next morning. She’s never been with anyone else and he’s a complete butt about it, because the condom breaks and she’s not on birth control...why in the hell would she be???? Anyway, she sneaks out and flys back home, which I loved, but of course...he’s waiting for her. Damn lawyer😂, he pretty much makes it where she has to agree to live with him her last semester of school and be his beck and call girl. Poor Emma, and she’s so damn sweet and he’s....not.
For me, he just lacks the charm to pull this off. He comes off as a real ass, even though he’s obviously crazy about her, but he makes it seem like it’s just sex for him. But just sex, doesn’t mean you spend all your time together and sleep in the same bed. Not that Emma would know or understand that. So every time he’s an ass...it’s like kicking a sweet puppy...and I like puppies...just sayin. I’m still a huge Sasha Gold fan and this book was safe from cheating and ridiculous drama like that, just not a Will fan. I am onto the next book in this series...see big Sasha Gold fan😉.
I'm really confused.....Can't remember why I was so eager to read this and I wish that I had read some reviews first. This started out with loads of potential and it even reminded me of a Lynda Chance book . H was kind of standoffish but that was okay I was waiting for him to redeem himself....and I kept waiting and kept waiting. The blackmail plot didn't really bother me. His use of the L word was way out of left field and where was the h's backbone? I was really glad that she 'left' him but even then she didn't fully cut ties from him. The ending was just way too abrupt.
Will is Emma's boss for the summer. She wants him but figures he'd never want her. They go on a business trip and have sex then Will is a jerk when the condom breaks and she's a virgin. She goes home, he follows her and threatens her into a relationship. The premise was good but he was too much of a jerk. He never seemed to soften and she just caved even after he lied to her.
I liked how quickly the characters evolved through their concerns. Conversations helped them resolve conflict and moved the storyline to a satisfying conclusion. Nicely spiced.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book I didn't like some aspects of it. I thought Emma should have been a stronger heroine and Will is at times almost abusive in his handling of the situation.
Emma has been working as a temp in Will's office, her contract is finally up and Will sees it as a way of getting her out of his system. He's been obsessed with her since the first time he set eyes on her.
Emma fell for Will during her time of working for him, he was all business but that didn't stop her head filling with happy ever after with Will. On her last assignment for his law firm she is seduced by Will. She and Will have an incident and she runs away. Not to give too much away he drags her back and basically blackmails her in to staying in a sexual relationship.
I feel he should have grovelled to get her love more. Still worth a read.
This was a sexy romp through the developing relationship between a dominant male and a more submissive female protagonist. The writing is crisp, clear, and engaging. Elements of dom/sub in the relationship. If you're looking for something steamy but not hardcore, this is a great choice.
