Fated to the Dragon Alien

Rate this book
Cerani is supposed to die quietly under the endless dust of Teria, a tired widow with soil-stained hands. Instead, she is stolen from the only home she knows and sent to a hellish mine on a red, burning moon where most people’s lungs wither—except hers. Something in the air feeds her, eases her aches, and sharpens her thoughts. Cerani grows stronger even as the others wilt, and she cannot ignore that. She confronts Stavian, the Controller, a Zaruxian male who should be her enemy. Instead, she is drawn to his guarded eyes and the guilt lingering behind them. He should be just another Axis warden, but she senses a part of him fighting to break free—and against every instinct, her heart sees him not as the enemy… but as someone she might need to trust.

Stavian never asked for this—this position, this power, and especially not this female. The rules are extract the crystals, crush rebellion, and never step outside the Axis creed. But when Cerani walks into his control station, wild-eyed and full of fire that the mine air cannot dim, everything inside him shifts. Cerani sees the rot at the heart of what he has dedicated his life to, and instead of recoiling, she challenges it—challenges him. Her defiance should be a threat, but when the mine caves in and lives hang in the balance, he finds himself at the blade’s edge between duty and conscience. Even as the whispers of rebellion thunder louder every cycle, her voice is the clearest. Saving her—and the others—means betraying everything he has ever known. But losing her might be the one thing he cannot survive.

Ella Blake’s Fated to the Dragon Alien tells the story of how hatchling 5, now an Axis mining warden, sees the evil being perpetrated against the miners, especially Cerani. Together they manage to free the miners and catch up to the other four grown hatchlings and their mates we met in books 1-4. Next: on to their home planet where the Axis have set up their base and where the last brother lives as one of the high council!

There is a reason I read everything this author publishes. She has a real talent for rafting a world and characters that pull you into their stories and won’t let go. I have been so invested in each of these couples and their road to rebellion. This book finds one of the Terian women working in a mine. But unlike the other miners, Cerani is not weakening or suffering from exposure to the toxic environment. In fact, it appears to be making her healthier. This draws the attention of the Controller, Stavian. He is another tool, a misguided Zaruxian that is due for a rude awakening. She fascinates him and he finds her immunity a puzzle he wants to solve. And from his research the seeds of rebellion are rooted once again. I loved it! I’m going to hate for the series to end after the next book but I just know it will be an explosive, satisfying end. I can’t wait!

I. Loved. This. Book! Cerani has ended up in a mine after taken from her planet and being sold. Stavian is the Controller of the mine. He notices there's something different about her. Not only isn't the environment affecting her like the other miners, she also isn't afraid to look him in the eye. So a fascination is born. I absolutely adore these Zarux Dragon Brides books. The characters are so rich and real seeming. The stories are fresh and weaving together seamlessly. The world building is outstanding! I can not wait for the final book in the series. It's going to be explosive. Ella Blake is an awesome writer. I honestly have loved everything I've read by her! 5+ stars

A Mining quota and radiation that strengthens

We find Cerani on a moon working in a mining operation and Stavian is the Controller. He becomes enamored with her and can't seem to stay away. All the miners are living on borrowed time and after a mine collapse, Stavian just can't let Cerani go again. It's a great story, and I love how the brothers and everyone all get back together. I do wish we knew where the other miners actually go in the end though.

Wow, I can’t believe we’re already on Book 5 of the series! We still have one more brother to track down, and I have a hunch he’s going to be the most challenging one yet. I’m so excited! This adventure has been such a thrill ride so far!

Another fated mate story involving Stavian, a Zaruxian prince and Cerani, a Terian female. He was raised by the Axis and has not a clue about his heritage. He's assigned as the Controller over the mine where she and others toil. Their attraction is mutual and immediate. They have what are supposed to be secret rendezvous where he teaches her how to read. They eventually agree that they can no longer meet as the powers that be are getting suspicious.

They manage to stay apart until there is a mine shaft collapse where Cerani and others are injured. This prompts Stavian to insist that all of the miners be healed and he moves her into his living quarters. They develop a plan for all of the miners to escape with Stavian taking the lead.

All does not go according to plan but they are rescued by his brothers and their Terian mates. More about their histories is revealed and they set out to find the last Zaruxian.
