I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. How many times have you opened up a newspaper, turned on the television or logged onto a website to read the news and what do you see in the headlines? Some celebrity couple are getting a divorce, having an affair, got caught with their pants down, cheated on their significant other...it goes on and on...and it's always on the top of the news. Forget that big storm brewing or Wall Street crashing...we all want to know if they'll make it..will that Oscar winning couple survive another year of marriage, will the sneaky photogs catch someone doing something nasty on the balcony of their hotel or will our favorite singer hit #1 with their newest single....without any scandal? Harmony and Reaper...the country music sweetheart and the bad boy rocker are newlyweds. As if being a young married couple isn't bad enough (especially since they had a rather whirlwind romance)...try living apart while you tour, recording albums, dealing with jealous friends and sneaky artists who want to ride to fame on "your" coattails, and the media fenzy always trying to cause some drama and put a hole in a solid relationship. I really felt for these two lovebirds...learning to live with (and apart from) someone you love is difficult enough, but adding the pressure of fame and politics is almost too much to handle. This follow-up to Hannah and Garrett's first book is at times a sweet and romantic duet and at others quite brutal and filled with real-life problems that are universal for any new couple (famous or not). I found myself getting really caught up in their relationship and even when things happened that made my belly turn upside down (because I just knew it might be the end of them) I never lost hope. Another really well written relationship and family oriented look into the world of celebrities and what makes them work or not work as they deal with too many outside pressures. Just enough romance and erotic moments to appeal to the readers of that genre but full of a wonderful music industry behind-the-scenes storyline as well.
***** 5 ***** " music and love will always make the world go 'round" stars
I was once again blown away by the characters that Laramie has created! I love the Heaven Hill series also, but this series is more my personality than the gritty world of MCs.
What I especially love about Reaper/Garrett and Harmony/Hannah is that the majority of each book plot is central around their emotions and regular life and not a far out crazy thriller plot. I love those too don't get me wrong but it's nice to just have a nice emotional read sometimes!
This book was the next episode in their epic romance and I can honestly say I enjoyed it immensely. That surprised me since I don't usually like to keep reading about the same two people constantly but I just can't quit Reaper!
This book was just so great. They are newlyweds who are trying to figure out their future together and with their careers. They have stumbling blocks as they try to deal with all the regular hiccups of a newly married couple while still trying to be in the public eye.
I can't wait to see what comes next for one of my favorite couples!
This was a good book, but not what I was expecting (Sure if I would have read the reviews/description I would have realized the POV, but with series I usually just jump from 1 book to the next) . I was hoping for a Shell and Jared book. This was more like a continuation of Hannah and Garett. This book describes what I would assume would be the trails and tribulations of two famous people going on tour. I enjoyed the coming together of families and the glimpses into other relationships
A great follow on from the first book following the trials and tribulations on the two young lovers who over come jealousy separation to marry in a crazy rush and then begin to get to know each other.Hannah and Garret were made for each other and let's hope the next book is as good as ever .
Am loving this series so far. Hannah and Garrett are working through their issues in a matured and realistic way that I love. No revenge hook up or anything. Hannah has also decided to take a hiatus so as to be a wife. That’s okay too. She has proven herself and she’s comfortable in her skin. There might be a story brewing between Shell and Jared, I guess we’ll see.
In The Price of Love book 2 of the Rockin’ Country series by Laramie Briscoe, Hannah a/k/a Harmony and Garrett a/k/a Reaper struggle to maintain a healthy marriage while working on albums on opposite sides of the country.
Hannah and Garrett struggle with tabloids, new artists trying to get a head and other outside sources that put a strain on their relationship and living apart for the time being makes in exceptionally hard.
This series is one that I go to when I need a pick me up, a feel good boost and the Price of Love did not disappoint. I really love the relationship between Hannah and Garrett. The lengths that they go through to see each other and to keep their relationship strong, is nothing short of amazing.
I really love how Hannah has grown since Garrett came into her life both as an artist and as a person. Hannah has really developed a great sense of who she is and what she wants and finally has the back bone to go with it.
Garrett is still the same swoon worthy rock star whose love for Hannah is palpable. You can really see how much he cares for her and how much impact they both have on each other.
One of my favorite things about this book was the secondary characters and relationships. We got more of Shell ad Jared as well as a little Brad and Stacy. I am really impressed with how the changes in Shell and Hannah’s friendship were written. Now that Hannah is married Shell is struggling to find her new place within Hannah’s life and it was realistic.
Laramie Briscoe is amazing in developing her characters and to the see the changes in each of them-both the main and secondary characters was really fun to read. You can really see how far they have all come from the first book.
The Price of Love is a great book and really catapults this couple into the next stages of their lives and I am so excited to see what happens next. I highly recommend this series just be sure to read them in order!
LEEANN'S REVIEW - 5 Stars
I think I can safely say I will happily read anything Laramie Briscoe writes!
I have read the Heaven Hill series so far and loved them all and I have read the 1st book and the novella for the Rockin County series, they are 2 completely different series and I think this author has the ability to write anything she puts her mind too.
So, The Price Of Love continues Hannah and Garrett journey into married life.
They are both well known, famous and we'll respected music artists in their own right. They have had very little time together since getting married and are lucky to delete in a day here or a day there.
Hannah quickly realizes somethings got to give. Although her contract is pretty tight she decides to stand up for her self and tell her record company she is finishing her current obligations and taking a break! This is of course easier said then done and they try to make it hard on her.
Garrett is struggling with the separation too, but he has his own coping mechanism which unfortunately includes a lot of alcohol consumption!! Some of the lengths these 2 go to to grab a night or day together is astounding and they are such an adorable couple you can't help but hope it all works out for them as you read along.
To keep them company are their 2 best friends Shell and Jared who are also in a relationship but have their own struggles to deal with. But none the less the 4 of them are a huge support to each other as they are trying to make everyone happy and keep themselves happy at the same time.
There are a few hurdles for Hannah and Garrett to overcome but they just reminding themselves that it's all worth it in the end when they are still standing strong with each other.
Hannah is a country music sweetheart and Garrett is a bad boy rockstar but together they are a match made in heaven. They compliment each other and each shine in the others presence. Theirs is a beautiful relationship to watch develope and grow. They have the right amount of emotion, angst, steam, happiness and joy.
If you have read any of Laramie Brisco e's other books you will love this and if you haven't then the Rockin Country series is a great place to start!! Check this book out, you won't be disappointed!
I truly love this rocking hot series. It is a nice change to read about a whorl-wind romance that actually has problems to deal with and a couple that actually mans up and works through them. And hey everyone they are a super star celebrity couple. The story picks up after Garrett “Reaper” Thompson and Hannah “Harmony” Stewart get married after a quick few months of dating. They are deeply in love and do not want to waste a minute of time, something they do not have a lot together of, with any nonsense. Hannah is constantly questioning if they are moving too fast and if she needs to take time off. This book explores the difficulties and the dynamics of the celebrity relationship. It is a complex deal for them and their time together is precious and short.
Hannah spends much of the book under a great deal of stress but we do see her come into her own. There is a shift in the relationship between Reaper and Harmony. Harmony is maturing and the trust between the two is beautiful to see. She also has a few humblings by those close to her. As usual the book is hot and Laramie’s writing is awesome!
Garrett changes a bit too in this book as he has to learn to apologize and be accountable for his actions. Garrett is so swoon worthy in this book. I love him more and more with each book. And Jared what a surprise beauty he was in this book. He and Shell play a bigger role in this story.
I would highly recommend this book as well as the entire series. Laramie is one of my favorite author’s and she does not fail me yet again with this installment to the series.
My Favorite Quotes:
He felt like half of a person without her, and that scared him, but he knew that was part of giving his heart to someone else. – Garrett
“I’m mad now, furious, that you discounted my fellings, and you think you have the monopoly on being sad, lonely, and depressed. I may not have the lady parts to have PMS, but I guarantee you my mood now matches yours. Congratulations, love of my life.” – Reaper
The story of country music’s sweetheart Hannah “Harmony” Stewart and heavy metal’s bad boy Garrett “Reaper” Thompson continues in author Laramie Briscoe’s The Price of Love. I’ve really enjoyed watching these two meet, have a whirlwind courtship, and a fast wedding but now they are facing a lot of time apart and of course the fans, paparazzi, and fellow artists all love to spin stories about them that try and break them apart. I have been enamored with this couple since the beginning and it was really nice to see them growing, changing, and accepting their crazy life as their story continues. I love the progression of the relationship between Hannah and Garrett and the fact that they are getting to know one another better and it’s really beginning to show in their intimate moments. Hannah is truly coming in to her own not only in the bedroom but outside. While at times Garrett’s temper still gets the best of him, I also see that improving especially when his family and friends are there to help him see reason. The fact that Hannah is beginning to not only take up for herself but exert her independence from her best friend is huge and yes there are some growing pains between her and Shel. I also loved that while Hannah and Garrett fight, they eventually cool off and make mature decisions. While they might feel some jealousy at times, it becomes even more evident that they trust each other explicitly. The Price of Love is another fantastic installment in the Rockin’ Country series and there are some changes coming in Hannah and Garrett’s lives. I’m really intrigued about what will happen next with this charming couple that seems to have not only captured my heart but the hearts of their “fans” everywhere!
This series is so addicting! Hannah and Garrett are married and trying to have somewhat of a normal life. For them, that means she is touring all over the country and he is in a recording studio. They see each other for a day here and there when they can coordinate their schedules. Neither one of them are happy about that.
The paparazzi are relentless in trying to get any kind of dirt on them. The weeks of being without each other brings out the insecurities in both of them. They each struggle with self esteem issues, worried that maybe they don't really deserve the other person and eventually their partner will realize this too.
Garrett has changed his whole life for Hannah. There are no other women, no groupies to catch his eye. He struggles with drinking when they are separated too long, but he fills his time with his music and stays in constant contact with Hannah and her family.
Hannah is tired. She just needs a long break and struggles with her choices. She longs for an extended time that she can be a wife and not have to get up in a strange city every day and rehearse, perform and do it all over again.
The record label is being less than honest with her and she is finding she has a voice and she can and will stand up for the life she wants. This is a very different Hannah than she was in the beginning of the series. But will the obstacles they face from their labels and those who are jealous around them, tear them from each other?
The Price of Love (Rockin’ Love #2) By: Laramie Briscoe 4/5 stars
When Hannah & Garrett got married they didn’t leave behind Harmony & Reaper, their onstage personas. They still have separate obligations to their record companies and what their futures will entail. They aren’t ready for the physical separation that will occur when they have to both get back to work, but that time is near.
They are both recording new albums and of course a new album means a new tour. But Hannah has never exercised the clause in her contract that allows her to take some time off. But now, Hannah is ready for a break and even more so since she is a newlywed.
They are both under pressure from their record companies about their sound & songs for their new albums. There is more than a little friction from Hannah’s record company about a certain song they want her to duet on with another country artist. Of course there are the paparazzi and trying to spin pictures and news stories, which of course bothers both of them.
This book centers around the length of time that Hannah is touring and a countdown until they can be together again. There were some fights they had and disagreements that sometimes seemed a little forced, like the author was trying to force a confrontation. I did find Hannah a little whiny at times during this book as well. We do get a bigger look into Jared & Shell’s relationship as well.
I bought and read this book as part of the Rockin’ Country box set.
I received an ARC Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I LOVED "The Price of Love"!!! Laramie writes a beautiful love story that you can't help but to be sucked into. If you have read the other two books in the series you know how much Hannah and Garrett love each other but life has a way of testing you and that is what happens in "The Price of Love".
Hannah and Garrett are newlyweds but with their busy schedules they are not getting to see each other much and that is weighing heavy on them. They deal with some drama but the love they share is so strong that nothing can break them even though she has you worried for a second that they are not going to make it lol. Garrett will have you swooning with some of the stuff he says and does for Hannah. They are both growing up together and are trying to figure out how everything is going to play out with their busy schedules.
"The Price of Love" is a wonderful 5 star book that I recommend one clicking next week when she publishes. I love reading Garrett and Hannah's journey and can't wait for the next book to come out. If you are a rocker girl with a bit of a country side this is a must read series!!
I was given an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. “The Price of Love” explores the ups and downs of a newly married couple who just show happen to be major stars in the music industry. I love the dynamic between Harmony/Hannah & Reaper/Garrett. There is a bit of a role reversal with the two as we discover Hannah becoming more independent & embracing her role as a wife, we see Garrett become sort of insecure of his status with Hannah & the direction of his band’s album. I love how Laramie takes you through every experience with Garrett & Hannah from discussing their potential as parents to buying a house together for the first time. I love the sacrifices that they make to ensure they have time to see each other even if it is just a Facetime or a phone call. In a time where long-distance relationships often fail, Garrett & Hannah make it work & they make it happen almost flawlessly. “The Price of Love” is a whirlwind, fairytale of a romance that any girl or guy would be lucky to have. Everyone deserves their own Reaper or Harmony.
How can a Rock God and a Country Gal make a marriage work when everyone is pushing them to fail? Luckily for Reaper and Harmony love makes a difference. I just love the dynamics of all of the relationships in this series. First off Garrett and Hannah doesn't let anyone or anything stand in the way of their marriage. They believe in each other and don't let rumors tear them apart. The friendship/co-worker relationship with Harmony and Shell is amazing. They tell it straight and no holding back on the truth. Boy do they dish it out to each other. It's what a true friendship should be about. The one thing in this series that really confuses me is when Harmony was first introduced to the band in the first book. I know Reaper introduced her to Jared, Bradley and Chris. What happened to Chris? He hasn't been mentioned since that one part. I love all of these secondary relationships. Jared and Shell, can't wait for their story. Brad and Stacey hopefully will get a story or at least a novella of their romance. This is a great series and should be read.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.
I think I've said this before but it needs to be repeated so that everyone knows. Laramie is an amazing writer and with each book that only becomes more evident. These characters are well-written and feel as if they are people I know or at least want to know. She writes them real and flawed and vulnerable and scared of the same things as normal people. Yeah they're rich and incredibly famous but they're also down to earth and very human. I find myself looking forward to each new book as if it's a coffee date with a girlfriend.
I do find myself wondering if we've heard the last of Bryson and kind of hope not.
I also really really want a Jared and Shell story!
My only complaint, much like with every other book, is why do I have to wait so long for the next one????
I am a big fan of Laramie Briscoe. Her writing is fantastic, and she makes her characters real. This book and this series are no exception. This book takes you further through the life of Harmony and Reaper. It also works on the story between Shell and Jared. The play between the 4 characters is great. This series is well worth investing the time into it to read. The novella (#1.5) plus the first and second books is a tad drawn out, but well worth it! Free copy given in exchange for an honest review. This book took me 3 hours to read. I recommend it if you enjoy: Michelle A. Valentine, Jess Dee, or London Casey.
The Price of Love is the second full length novel in the Rockin' Country series by Laramie Briscoe. Again, another fabulous book in this series with a solid storyline that had me hooked from page one. The characters were well developed and well thought out. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Hannah & Garrrett and their love story is blowing me away!!! Moving onto book three in this series!!
Ahhh! What a perfect love story! The over protective Reaper and sweet Harmony. They both have their problems but in the end they work through them together. I will admit I have a really soft spot for Reaper. He is so sweet to Harmony and looks after her like a man should. However, I love that Harmony will put him in his place real quick. There song, sighing, I loved! I didn't even have to hear the lyrics and I loved it!
Love, love, love more of Reaper & Harmony!! Garrett & Hannah have their rough patches, and Garrett’s Reaper personality sneaks out sometimes, but they work through it. And the politics of their profession raise its ugly head, but they hang tough. We also get more of Train (Jared) and Shell, which is great! I adore this series by Laramie Briscoe, she brings you into their world and you just want to stay there.
Such a cute story! Rocker and country singer newlyweds trying to make it work in their business. They got through some twists and turns and turned out alright. I love Garrett. He's so in love with his wife, and even though he looks tough on the outside, when it comes to Hannah, he is soo sweet, and it makes you fall in love with him again. Can't wait to read more!!
Totally in LOVE with these wild and crazy kids!!!!
This is one of my FAV series!!!! The story is absolutely perfect!! After the 1st book you will be hooked and then it only gets better with part 1.5 and part 2!! if you have not read this series then you need to come out from under your rock and read it!!
Loved this book. I absolutely adore the characters Reaper and Harmony. The first book was so good I was desperate to see what happened next and I wasn't disappointed. The drama and struggles that Reaper and Harmony face throughout this instalment are so realistic. I'm looking forward to see how their story continues in the next book.
Harmony and Reaper are my favorite country couple! I love this series! I love that you get to see the two of them face real things that normal people face every day. Laramie Briscoe does an excellent job bringing to life this story. I can not wait for the next book. I know I bug Laramie on Facebook all the time for teasers. Look her up she is awesome and so sweet.
All the same characters from the first books on the series return here. Reading is still easy to follow and characters are still easy to like. A look into how musicians live on the road. It's definitely not for me. Hannah and Garrett show everyone how to work at a marriage to keep it strong. Love the family dynamics here too. No cliffhanger here just HEA.
Reaper and Harmony are newly weds and are learning how to cope with being separated by touring and interfering record company's, you also see how much stronger Harmony is and how much she has grown and standing up for herself.
I absolutely love the first book .. So you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the sequel. I had such high expectations that I think I set myself up for disappointment. I liked it but it wasn't as good and original as the first.
I'm really liking this series. Nice to see Hannah finally growing up and being able to stand up and do things for herself. Love Garrett! Can't wait for the next chapter in their lives. I have to say that little tease at the end of the book is so mean, 2015 is so far away.
Awesome story of Reaper and Harmony!! Love this couple! Cannot wait for the next book! Ms. Briscoe has rocked it with this series! If you haven't read this series check it out!
Could not have asked for a better book. I love Reaper & Harmony. I love the story line. I can't wait till the next book. Great job Laramie. I recommend this series if you love rock stars in your love stories.
I absolutely adore this series! Reaper and Harmony to me are a perfect couple, and Reaper is definitely one of my fav book boyfriends. I love how accessible they seem and down to earth. Definitely a fav book of mine!
