Kara Petersen has lived through more than most.

The horrors of her past had shaped her, forcing her to walk through this life relatively alone. Untrusting and guarded, seeking solace in the shadows, she thought she could survive anything that life threw at her.

And she did...

Until him…

Sloan Foster.

He brought her out of the darkness and into the light. He gave her a life she could never have imagined. She fell in love with him, but when faced with controversy, just like everyone else, he let her down.

He broke her heart.

She was complacent.

She was foolish.

Except, it wasn’t her love for him that was foolish, it was believing she could escape pain.

In a bid to end her suffering for one night only, she unknowingly walked into the path of evil.

Enduring the devastation of having to remember the night of her abduction, she must decide if she is willing to risk possibly having her heart broken again in order to find out the truth.

Can she really give all her love to a man who has the ability to obliterate her completely?

Taking a leap of faith, she vows to trust him, regardless of how imprudent it may transpire be.

Falling further into his outwardly perfect world for a second time, Kara is, once again, treading a path she fears will eventually destroy her.

As truths finally unfold and decade old secrets are revealed, it’s clear the past has never been too far behind and binds her to others in ways unimaginable.

Together, she discovers their love is tormented.

After reading the first book, I have no idea why I thought I would like this one better. I DNF this. There is no way I could tolerate one more minute of the heroine going over the same thing over and over and over again. I love him and I can't live without him. No, I have to walk away. He will hurt me. But I love him and I can't live without him. I promise I won't run away again. She does. I promise I will do what I agreed to. Except I won't. I get she had a traumatic past, but no way does it excuse this kind of behavior. Didn't like her in the first book and can't stand her as far as I read in this one. Just no.

I have been enjoying these books, but this one just didn't feel as good as the first one. There was a lot of repetitive stuff going on, plus meandering without much going on. Much like the last book, it feels as though there is not much of a story, here.

The main story that I am getting from these so far is about an abused girl who eventually falls for a man who keeps lying to her. Sloan continually has to apologize to her for his lies and actions.

While I do agree that she has needed time away from him, I don't think she needs to leave him every other chapter. A couple times is one thing, but it happens way too much. Not to mention, you would think he would learn his lesson about lying to her, but he does it over and over.

Supposedly for a security company, these guys truly suck at protecting her. Leaving her alone over and over is just stupid. Then there is her going off alone over and over. Is everyone stupid, here?
Are these guys even trying to find Deacon?I don't think they are, really. She hasn't been looking, and has managed to find him multiple times (or rather he finds her). I"m not sure how he keeps getting away every time.

Then, there is all that has been done so far. Where the hell are the police? Why hasn't he been arrested by now? Why haven't they tried going to the police at all?
There are just too many holes here.
I will keep going, but I hope the author can pull things together to have an actual storyline here.

Even though the storyline is about a dark and violent situation; Elle Charles is a good writer. After reading the first book I couldn't wait to read this one, but was a little disappointed - very predictable and repeat a lot of the same from the first book. I didn't feel this one was as good as the last and had more violence and dark scenes. Just too slow and boring. I am debating to continue with this series.

Very good

The second in a four book series it picks up where the first one ended. Quite a bit of violence but still good. Sloane and Kara are trying to build a relationship. But, Sloane is still hiding the full truth from Kara. Tragedy, heartbreak and misunderstandings. Can their love survive it?

Amazing

Elle writes so well. I wish i was Kara so i could have a Sloan. There is so much love between these two, it makes your heart hurt for all that they go through. I would recommand this book, i think you should know it is a dark book and there is violence and rape.

A brilliant look at the affects rape and violence have on women. I love this story.

The romance between Kara and Sloan is wonderfully written with witty dialogue and realistic men and women.

The evil of men like Deacon and Franklin is real and needs to be brought out into the light.

I enjoyed reading the continuation of the series. I did lose concentration during some parts, which seemed to drag. But overall, I liked the storyline and the characters. I look forward to the rest of the series just to see what will happen to Deacon.

I know, I know. After everything I said about book 1, "Fractured," I decided to read book 2, "Tormented." I have no one else to blame. What can I say except I was curious. I should've just walked away and picked up something else to read. I don't know why I thought this would be any different because the story that continues is once again a total cliché. The worst part, it doesn't end here. The story continues with book 3, no title or date of release available yet. Will I read that one too? I'm leaning towards no, but don't hold me to it.

A good follow up to the first book, it didn't pack the punch the first book had and although many questions were answered you are left on another cliff hanger. With that said i still really liked it, and the story continued well. It won't be to every ones taste, if you don't like dark angsty books that deal with human nature at it's worst then don't read it, although like the first book a bit predictable in places, i thought it was a good read and i would read the next book ;-)

Stupid Broken Girl

I have never wanted to punch a character in the face so bad. Kara pissed me off. I hated her but at the same time I wanted to hold her close and protect her. This was another great addiction to the Fractured Series. This one was more revealing, had more secrets, more plot twist and more heartbreak. On to book 3.

So slow could be done by now

The story is slow. Too slow. She could
Have moved the plot faster. There is so much repeat and I am not even finishing this book. I can't take it anymore. Every time she builds to a big reveal its a disappointment. With. Some exciting this could be a good story.

Great 2nd book, continues Kara and Sloan's story. As the lies and deceit unravel can they overcome them still find happiness?? The story is dark with some taboo subject matter, not for the feint hearted.

This series is just mesmerizing. I have lost sleep
a couple of nights because I couldn't stop reading. It is so good you want to see what is next. One more go in the series and I can hardly wait.

It's hard to enjoy a story when there are so many grammar and spelling errors. Needs a lot of work.
