Charlotte Matthews, Omega Rights Activist. Remember my name. My face. I’m one of many. Broken, beaten, bought, and sold to the highest bidder—never to be seen again. Dragged into the dark, into the depraved underworld of Omega trafficking. But despite it all, I survived. Rescued. Reborn. Pulled from the depths of my trauma by a pack I never saw coming. I never wanted a pack. I never wanted mates. But these men, Trigger, Joker, Deacon, and Motley—my vengeance made flesh. They took my broken pieces and put me back together. My captors tried to silence me. They failed. With my pack by my side, I will hunt them down. I will end Omega suppression. I will burn their entire operation to ash. They took the wrong Omega. They won’t see me coming. The time for words is over. This Omega isn’t just bringing fire—she is the fire.
Omega on Fire is a Dark Why Choose Omegaverse Romance. Please make sure you read over the trigger and content warnings before going into this.
This was a wonderful look at the fight for autonomy and human rights we’re facing through the lens of the omegaverse A/B/O designation. Dreia did a good job of keeping this low angst while exploring a sensitive issue like trafficking. While the OV elements did the work of establishing the connection it didn’t do the heavy lifting because the pack was well built. The plot wasn’t overly complex because the reality is that equality and inclusion aren’t complicated. All human beings deserve it, full stop. The pack was still my favorite part of the story and Charlotte was an excellent champion for the cause. A Black plus size biologically submissive woman being a literal and figurative warrior for justice?!? Yes baby all day! While there wasn’t anything about the story that blew me away it was still gripping and well written. I could have easily read it in one sitting if time permitted. And the fact of the matter is Wells writing Black OV is always going to be my happy place!! I love her for filling the void and doing it beautifully! Pack Hudson has officially taking the number one spot from Pack Smooth for me.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, take note of the author’s warning and be aware of how dark and brutal this book can go. I will freely admit that there were some of Charlotte’s chapters in the beginning that I was incapable of reading. This fierce young woman survived the very worst of what human beings are capable of doing to one another, and there were times that did not make for comfortable reading. But her alphas? Sigh. They would burn the world to the ground if it would make her happy. There is something so deliciously swoon-worthy about that kind of devotion, and after what she just survived, Charlotte deserved that kind of care and attention. I adored her passionate crusader energy, and I positively loved seeing what she was able to accomplish. Now, I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for Charlotte’s sweet bestie. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

Omega On Fire is a standalone romance. Please check CW.
Charlotte is a determined woman of action. The beautiful Omega is an outspoken advocate for Omega rights. She is a force for good in her world. Unfortunately, this puts her in the eye of those who wish to disenfranchise and strip the rights of Omegas. Under the seemingly honorable gaze of those in power, lies a traff1cking ring that is making Omegas all across the world disappear into a world of subjugation and suffering. Soon Charlotte finds herself a victim.
3 mercenary alphas and 1 tech savvy Beta are the crew tasked with finding and freeing Charlotte. They are the best of the best and will not fail her.
As the group travails the perils of the k1dnapping ring and political landscape, a deep scent-matched bond grows.
Charlotte is an amazing character. Her strength, determination, and fiery will are everything you could want in a memorable character - regardless of designation or identity. The guys are excellent book boyfriend material with their unwavering support of their omega. An excellent read.
I’ve been waiting for this book since she announced and I was FED!!! First of all we need MORE Black Omegaverse stories. This one right here had me locked in from page 1. Please pay attention to the TW/CW as this one deals with some very heavy and traumatic things. This was also such a reminder of how important bodily autonomy is. Pack Hudson ain’t no joke and the way Charlotte just fit, the way they cared for her…I LOVED IT.
Now I’m wondering if we’ll see them again because that second epilogue felt like a door left open. Read this one, you won’t be disappointed!!
I will always jump on the chance to read an Omegaverse and this new-to-me author provided an awesome standalone that I read in one afternoon. Charlotte has been through so much in her life and after being rescued, she is determined to make the most of her trauma in order to help others. She finds herself with a fantastic support system in Trigger, Motley, Deacon, and Joker. The storyline overall was fast paced and kept me on my toes. I loved the relationships that were built between Charlotte and her pack as well as the side characters. I’d love to read more out of this world!
Omega On Fire by Dreia Wells @dreia_wells_author. Dreia is a favorite author of mine. This is in the same world as Going Down Smooth Duet & Nothing Is Free, & is a standalone. Please read the trigger warnings!
What a phenomenal book about Trigger, Charlotte, Motley, Deacon, & Joker! Tropes: Contemporary, Omegaverse, Why Choose, MM, Dark, Omega Trafficking/Rescue, Dom/sub vibes, Neurodivergent Representation, Ex-Military, Omega Activist, Found Family & HEA!
I loved all the themes in this book! It was the perfect balance of Omegaverse, dark romance, action, love and justice. This was a very empowering inspiring story I couldn't put down! I loved how fierce and sarcastic and caring Charlotte is as an omega and how she doesn't let her trauma break her and she keeps fighting.
Charlotte’s story. A dark read with trauma, struggles, kidnapping, trafficking, drama, power struggles, and advocacy. Certainly an intriguing journey she had to endure.
This is a new to me author, I’ve seen the Pack Smooth series and just never read it. Honestly, it was mostly because I prefer a lot of action and drama (not cat fight kinds) and I didn’t get that from the description. On a whim I added this book to my library a few weeks ago and just got around to reading it today. And I am beyond impressed! I don’t get on socials much, with life and reading constantly taking all my time, but I don’t recall ever seeing this book or the Smooth Series recommended in my reading groups. Well it will today!
Ms. Wells writing is refreshing, and cultivated. My biggest issue even with books by seasoned authors is plot holes, random unnecessary information dumps, sentence structure, grammar and spelling. This story followed and resolved a plot. The writing was impeccable, and she’s clearly an American author because descriptions of different places in the US were legitimate AND phrasing was on point, even some current slang that is relevant to this time.
Charlotte is an FMC that is unapologetically real. She’s thick, loud and ready to go to war for a cause or people she deems important. Her character is believable and true. There’s no wishy washy, indecisive moments. She was true to form throughout the book. And I’m beyond pleased with how the spicy scenes were laced throughout the story and meaningful. There’s nothing worse than spicy scenes in the most random and inopportune places. “I’ve just been hit by a truck but let’s get spicy!” Type stuff is not cute to me. Granted I didn’t read most of the spicy scenes, because even though I really only read smut, I’m more interested in the drama and action. I love that not every single thread in the characters drawers was described, this type of writing really takes away from the story to me. I prefer to have written impressions of characters, spaces and clothing so I can develop my own impressions and visuals of the story. The plot was pretty much the same as the majority of OV stories, however it was written in a way that didn’t have me rolling my eyes like “here we go again”. The way the plot played out to resolution was steady and cautious and really realistic. Charlotte is a bada$$ but it wasn’t over the top, she is portrayed as your homegirl down the way that doesn’t take anyone’s crap, but you can still throw burgers on the grill and know you will have a good time together.
I really feel like a loser now, I should have read the Pack Smooth books, but hey, I’ve got a long weekend and I’ve got nothing to do but immerse myself in some excellent writing. Hope yall didn’t want spoilers, the description is pretty self explanatory what makes a review meaningful to me is what the writing is like and if it’s a believable story. Charlotte is an FMCto be reckoned with, you will love her just as I have come to. And side note if you haven’t read other stories by Dreia Wells what are you doing with your life!? Happy reading friends!
I've always liked this universe and I'm glad there was another entry for it. I enjoyed the parallels with our world, as depressing as it is. Being outspoken is such a courageous thing, since it also makes someone a target. I loved the way Char's experiences were written. I've had similar experiences to being abducted and the horrible things that followed.
All the thoughts and emotions she experienced were personally relatable. The acknowledgement of the divorce between your body and mind was amazing. Not many stories, especially in Omegaverse, point out the horror of physical pleasure and mental/emotional pain.
I love the messaging in this story. Not everyone has people in their life to rescue them, which is why we should all take notice and take actionable steps to support survivors. Whether it's protesting, voting, educating, giving monetarily or physically.
Additionally, I know these series usually focus on the FMC, but I do love packs/relationships where everyone romantic with each other. It feels cozier, especially when everyone loves to see the people they love loved up on. Thank you for not shying away from queer people in this universe, though I wouldn't mind seeing more. I'm Black, queer, non-binary, and it's nice to see poly/queer representation in Omegaverse with black characters. 🖤
Some things that I would critique are:
Better physical descriptors for characters. It was hard to imagine the race and appearance of many characters because it wasn't explicit enough.
Making the previous issue worse was the mix of names the MMCs had. Remembering which guy was being referred to when their call sign and legal name were used interchangeably was difficult to track. It would have been better to reserve certain names for specific times. Like only using call signs when working/on a mission, rather than casual conversation.
Dreia Wells' newest omegaverse, Omega on Fire, is a dark and gritty story that features omega trafficking, trauma, and dangerous politics but also shows determination, healing, and, most of all, fire.
That fire mostly comes from Charlotte Matthews, a prevalent omega rights activist. Being an omega herself, it's easy to understand why this subject is so important to her. She's trying to make the world a better place, and I admire that. I also love her fire. Even after her inevitable abduction, she didn't stay broken; she came back forged in steel, even more determined than ever before. Char is doing all of this with Pack Hudson by her side. I adored the guys. They're ex-military and now own a security firm. So they are more than capable, and they work together as a group. Their pack is seamless, and I loved it. My favorite is a tie between Joker, the adorable beta, and Motley, the crazy one, which surprises no one.
The romance was on point. No drama—everything came together smoothly. I enjoyed how the pack and Charlotte had a true partnership. They listened to and supported her and made decisions together. The rest of the plot was great. The villain was diabolical; I absolutely hated him. However, the quiet war between him and Charlotte and the pack was superb. Barbs were being traded, plots were underway, and eventually sweet justice. It was very entertaining. Omega on Fire was outstanding! Sure to cure any book slump.
Omega on Fire by Dreia Wells – Bold, Fierce, and Unforgettable (5/5 Stars)
This book hit me in a way I wasn’t fully prepared for—in the best way. Yes, it’s beautifully written, emotionally intense, and packed with the kind of high-stakes, character-driven tension that keeps you turning the pages. But what truly set it apart was the weight underneath the story—the quiet fire woven into every chapter.
Wells uses the framework of this genre not just for romance and drama, but as a powerful mirror to the real-world systems that silence and suppress. Through the characters’ struggles and resistance, she brings something deeply human to the surface: the desire to be seen, heard, and free.
The parallels between this world and ours—especially for women and the LGBTQIA+ community—aren’t just clever. They’re meaningful. They stay with you. And even though the story takes place in a fictional world, its heart beats with truth.
5 out of 5 stars for a story that dared to burn bright—and left something glowing in its wake.
This wasn’t just ‘Omega on Fire’, this was an entire book on fire! And my Kindle nearly burned down with how fast I wanted to flip through the pages just to know what would happen next.
I love my omegaverse stories set in a darker world, with protective and possessive men willing to burn the world down for those they love. But I love it even more when the Omega is the one blowing that fire into an inferno. So yeah, Charlotte is my new hero. She’s the kind of inspiration we all need in a world where human rights seem to be reserved for the few, and whenever I have to think about my favorite fmc’s, she will hold a place on that list.
In a way, I wish this book had been part of a series, but that’s just because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters yet… It’s a well written standalone, I have no complains at all, I just liked them all a bit too much. I guess the next best thing would be them showing up in another book in this world in the future…
This drops straight into the action and pulls no punches when describing Charlotte’s kidnapping and subsequent abuse, then into a full-on rescue. The characters are great, I loved Pack Hudson, Beaux the crazy one, but who could also get designer clothes in a few hours, Teagan, team leader and strategist, Moses, whose sisters were sold off into marriages by their parents and beta Josiah, the tech genius. The standout character was Charlotte, the omega fighting for basic human rights. The action was fast and furious, the spice was so hot, I particularly loved the reset scene when Charlotte joined in with Josiah and Te. It did take me a while to get my head round the switch between real names and call signs, but I swiftly found I knew who was who. Thoroughly enjoyed this, fast paced and full of spice.
I love a feisty badass omega, and Charlotte was just that. She's an outspoken advocate for Omega rights, and it was nice to have MCs who were POC and not the typical blonde, blue-eyed, tiny mouse. She was described as being "bigger" or plus size, but it I like that the author didn't make her all sad and insecure about herself. I can't stand that.
There is a rape scene, so take that into consideration. It's not overly detailed, more of a fade-to-black situation. Its Not the MMCs, but they do see the video stream of it happening.
I also like that there was no dumb miscommunication trope or 3rd act break up.
There is MM, but I enjoy that too and they didn't make the FMC feel like an interloper. Overall, this was a really great start to the series and I'm looking forward to reading the next!
First off all, read the trigger warnings for Omega on Fire, because the book is dark! Once you confirm you are ok to read, please proceed because this book contains all my favorite things (why choose, some MM action, stand alone, lots of spice). Charlotte is a no nonsense FMC who is fighting for Omega rights. This of course lands her in trouble and she is rescued by three alphas and a beta. They all work together to bring down a trafficking ring because not everyone will have a rescue team to save them. I loved watching the pack come together (though I had a hard time keeping the guys straight sometimes). I think Beaux was my favorite guy, he was so unpredictable and funny! This was a deep story that can really be applied to real life and I think that made me like Charlotte’s story even more.
Omega on fire is a RH omegaverse that will pull all kinds of emotions from readers. I love that this author has a great way of pulling you into the story and showcasing such strong female characters with amazing support from the men that come into their lives.
Charlotte is a survivor, not a victim. I think that is the truest definition for this omega, who was kidnapped, trafficked, and abused. She fought back in every way she could and refused to be silenced. Bravery is speaking even when you are afraid to.
I love Teagan, Beaux, Josiah, Moses as well. They are soldiers that are driven and hardcore, but have a soft spot for doing what's right. They save Charlotte and then give her strength and support when she needs it. And with a dirty corrupt organization out there selling and suppressing omegas' rights, she'll need them by her side. Especially when her friend is taken.
Brookes is another outstanding character. Their friendship is so special and I hope we get his story soon.
Omg... im gone. This book will stick with me. This was my first omegaverse an it's filles with reverse harem smutty goodness but more that that this book is powerful. Charlotte is my girl!!!! She's an omega, expected to be submissive, be pretty, be silent be grateful and be fruitful (seems familiar). She is anything but. She's a strong willed activist determined to fight for omega rights, fighting for them to be equals and not just a womb. When Charlotte is in trouble, an old friend sends reinforcement, 3 alphas and a omega that finds themselves hypnotized by her. I really don't want to ruin it so I'll just say a lot of shit goes down, like a lot. My heart was besting frantically often and my hands hurt from clutching my Kindle. It's fast pace, intense and so hot. One of my favorites this year.
Just wow! Omega - Charlotte (FMC) is an outspoken, opinionated rights activist on behalf of Omega's. Which in turn made her become a target. When she's kidnapped it takes her into a dark world of Alpha's/Betas who were buying, selling and abusing Omegas. That also led her to finding a pack - Teagan, Moses, Josiah and Beaux who not only helped her but they also strengthened her as a character after everything she'd been through. More so with how they taught her to defend herself. Her relationship with these hardened Alpha's (not their Beta) was endearing as well as hot as hell to read. I loved this book and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to getting my hands on Brookes book now.
Omega on Fire is so incredibly well written, I highly recommend you read it immediately.
It’s got action, abuse, fire born from that abuse, political underhandedness, overcoming evil, reverse harem, some m/m, a bit of dom/sub, omegaverse, honestly it has everything you could ever want or need in a book!
Charlotte is an omega advocate and she will not be quieted, when a corrupt government head tries to beat her into submission she comes out swinging.
Trigger, Motley, Joker and Deacon save her from a fate worse than death and support her to set the world on fire!
Looking forward to reading Brooke’s’ story and how his alpha security team earn his trust and maybe love.
It took me a while to get into omegaverse books, but what I've found I love isn't the steam, but the politics. The universe this book is set in has a particularly detailed - and relevant - setting.
Charlotte is one of the strongest heroines I've come across in a long time. Doesn't matter what gets thrown at her, she fights back, I loved her pack, they fit well with her and each other. It did take me a moment to get my head round who was who, since they alternated between names and nicknames, but once I got who was who right, I loved them.
The plot is a roller coaster, and I loved every twist and turn, and the very satisfying conclusion.
Charlotte's best friend's book is up next and I can't wait!
This book’s main focus was to give a voice to the omegas & save them from the control & silence of the alphas. Pack Hudson does a great job giving Charlotte the space & time she needs after they rescue her. They all make a bad@ss team when in the field. The pack has code names for each other, which is fine when they’re in the field but confused me so much when the book says their real & code name in the same paragraph for pretty much the whole book so it’s like it’s talking about two different people each time. I really liked her bestie Brookes too & am looking forward to his book.
My fav line in the book: “One: running and I don’t get along. Two: did I mention running? Because, nah.”
Loved!!! This was such a good read, it was heartbreaking at times, Charlotte is a firey omega who fights for omega rights. She is kidnapped, and has to endure abuse (check the triggers) but is eventually saved by the Hudson pack. Who are a strong already formed pack, they automatically know that she is theirs! But I liked that the relationship didn’t happen straight away, they gave her time… unlike some books where it happens straight away it then feels rushed so I was glad that this wasn’t the case! I think the only thing about this was the names and nicknames threw me, I think it should have just been one or the other as it was abit confusing. But other than that it was a fantastic read!
This was such a great read, I always love a strong female lead and, unusually for an Omegaverse story, Charlotte is just that. After what she went through you might have thought that she would be running scared but, if anything, it made her stronger and more willing to fight! I loved how all the guys were trying to be so careful around her, it did give her time to get to know them without being overwhelmed but she was fully aware of what they were doing! I loved the epilogue showing just how much she was willing to do in order to protect other Omegas, she was not a sit at home type, she wanted to be in on the action too.
Dreia gives us a fantastic standalone book! Charlotte is an omega who is an activist for omega rights which leaves many wanting to silence her. She's kidnapped and tortured and Pack Hudson, Tegan, Beaux, Moses and Josiah, are sent to save her and any other omegas being held with her. They find they're scent matches and the story really kicks off! To find out what happens on the way to their hard won HEA, dive into this wonderfully written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing and turning pages throughout! I loved reading this story and highly recommend it. Don't miss out on this book!!
Wells continues to write in the Omegaverse she created where non-shifting humans carry the traits of Alphas, Betas, and Omegas - scenting, heats, packs, and knotting.
In this third book, she delves more into the dark side of Omega restrictions and trafficking. It is a not-so-thinly veiled reflection of the rollback of women's, People of Color, and LGBTQIA+ rights we are currently witnessing.
Although the MFC suffers kidnapping, rape, and torture, the depiction, thankfully. isn't graphic. I would've like more physical description of the main characters. Nevertheless, Omega on Fire is still a good read.
I loved this it was dark spicy fated mates OV with a fierce omega activist who struggles with the aftermath of a traumatic experience and the men who are ready to help her reclaim herself. I loved the characters Charlotte is feisty, a fighter she didn’t let her trauma keep her down but make her stronger. The guys were great loved how sweet they were and seeing them help her heal. I was so happy for their ending it was well deserved and I’m glad she was able to get her revenge and help topple an organization that thought they were untouchable. I hope we get to see more of these characters in the future and I can’t wait for the next book.
This book was phenomenal. It starts off right in the think of it. There’s not much buildup at all. We start with Charlotte and we get all the ugly, horrible things she has to endure throughout her kidnapping. This doesn’t feel all lovey dovey like your “typical” omega verse, but instead she gives you so much more. Charlotte is a fighter, a stand up for what is right person. I loved her. Pack Hudson is crazy about her, but cautious of all she’s gone through. I loved following this story and watching her right the wrongs of political dirt bags.
I highly enjoyed this book. I love Charlotte and all her guys. Read the triggers is all I can say because it gets into some very dark themes. My only problem was so much switching back and forth between their call signs and their names I had to try and remember who was who. With 4 mates it made it slightly confusing. This is the first book by this author that I have read and I am excited to read more of her work. This book contains SA and trafficking. If you have no triggers and enjoy reading dark themed books then this one’s for you.
Omega on Fire was one of the most intense omegaverse reads of the year! After Charlotte, an Omega Rights Activist, finds herself a survivor of Omega trafficking, she is left with a lot of trauma to heal. With the intensity of the endeavor, there is a lot of pain underlining the actions of the MFC, but she is also very strong and resilient, and when she finds herself surrounded by men who bring her up, she is only able to grow stronger. Trigger, Joker, Deacon, and Motley were a great group to support Charlotte in her growth and continued healing, and the romance was truly off the charts!
