3.5⭐️ I looooved Kasey downnnn. These Bennett boys are something else. However this was kinda hard at times because the FMC was a bit annoying in ways the others weren’t, and honestly I would have liked more from the second chance romance. But I love this series!

“We might always have unfinished business. Until a miracle strikes down from the heavens and Ava finally opens her heart to me in all the ways that matter, I’m going to be bucking on this fucking ride, holding on to all the shreds of hope I can find. The worst part is, knowing how stubborn she is, I might go to my grave still pining for her.” 😮‍💨

THE ANGST!!! Michaela Jean Taylor never misses when it comes to angst. I loved getting to fall for another Bennett brother in Sugar. Kasey was the poster boy for yearning. This man was a simp from the beginning and 10 years made no difference when his heart knew what he truly wanted all along. I love a second chance romance and this had me choking up and rooting for Kasey and Ava to just fall right back into what they used to be but they also grew SO much since the first time they were together. I loved getting the little flashbacks of their relationship as teenagers but they needed to grow apart before they could come back together. I was not expecting this to be as angsty as it was but I shouldn’t be surprised because these Bennett brothers just can’t help who they fall in love with, despite the odds almost always being against them. I love these brothers so much and am so excited to see what and who is falling in love next 👀

Michaela Jean Taylor's' smooth and compelling writing style makes me devour everything she writes. Sugar was no exception.
I loved Ava and Kasey's story and their untamable girl x boy obsessed dynamic.
Ava is dynamite. She is fiery, a free spirit that can't be shackled to any man or course of life. Kasey is the sweetest, most supportive, safe, and caring boyfriend ever. I loved that they had to find a way to be together without changing their truest selves. I loved the way he learns to let her lead and the way she learns to fully trust someone with her heart for the first time in her life. The fact that Kasey's job is to tame wild horses, and he basically is in love with a girl that can't be tamed made the whole story quite poetic. I liked it a lot.
Now, I can’t wait to meet the other Bennett brothers.

I LOVED THIS. A second chance romance with the most perfect "it's always been you" connection. This was angsty, emotional, but also incredibly touching and heartfelt, with a dash of suspense lol. This series continues to be a gem when it comes to cowboy romances.

First off, I have to say how much I enjoyed Ava as our fmc. Strong-willed, feisty, loyal with a takes no shit attitude. I loved her and wanted to be her. I understood her intimately when it came to her inclination to want to run. It was deep rooted in her and as much as I wanted to shake her and tell her to accept all the good being offered, I also got why she couldn't. She needed to realize it in her own time and I'm so glad she did because she deserved all of the love that she got.

Kasey so clearly had not stopped loving Ava and also clearly hated that fact lol but it was entirely out of his control. I did not blame him at all for being as resistant as he was in the beginning. Ava had hurt him in the worst way, but I loved how despite that, he still made a point to take care of her and be there for her. I won't say much as to not spoil some things, but I'll just say this: he would move mountains for Ava and he kinda did. His heart was pure and filled with so much love for her. It was beautiful.

The overarching drama from the other books played a bit of a part in this, but it felt more fitting to the story than in the previous book. It all felt cohesive and not over the top at all. I really enjoyed the way the conflicts got resolved!!

I am absolutely dying for Brooks book and already cannot wait for more of Sawyer as well. Highly recommend picking this series up!!

Sugar by Michaela Jean Taylor is such an adorable, swoony book and I am absolutely obsessed. This book follows the second-oldest Bennett brother, Kasey and his long-lost high school sweetheart Ava Jones. These two enter a marriage of convenience to save the Bennett ranch from falling into the wrong hands. After ten years apart, the two are not on the best terms, but they put their differences aside for the sake of the ranch and Kasey's family.

This book was perfection on paper. I adored all the angst and repressed feelings and the mutual pining. Second-chance romance is one of my all-time favorite tropes and Michaela Jean Taylor absolutely nailed it. Kasey and Ava's love story was so fun to read about. At times frustrating, but so much fun. Watching them fall in love all over again was so satisfying. Watching Ava learn to trust again and find solace in Kasey was so tender. Watching Kasey let his guard down and let himself fall freely was so cute. These two are made for each other and belong together, even if it took them years to figure it out.

Kasey is such a man. Cowboys will always do it for me. I fell in love with Kasey right alongside Ava. And dare I say, Kasey is my favorite Bennett brother? I stand by that. The way he loves Ava with with everything in him is so hot. The way he loves her unborn child that isn't even his is even more hot. I am so obsessed with the slow-burn love with these two. Their love has been through the wringer so by the time they try again, you know it's real and stronger than Superman. I love these two so much. I love Kasey's unwavering support and protection. I love Ava's snark and power. I love everything about this book and I cannot wait to read whatever Michaela writes next.

Sugar

Tropes:
Second chance romance
Cowboy romance
Marriage of Connivence
Not his kid
Small town romance
"But daddy I love him"

Firstly thank you to the wonderful Michaela for the opportunity to read her book Sugar which is the third book in the A Saddlebrook Falls Romance. From the moment
I opened the pages and met the third Bennett brother I was hooked.

Sugar follows Kasey and Ava. Lets start with these two have history, they dated in high school. Once finished high school, Kasey proposed. Ava left. Years go by. They never see each other or speak. Then one day Ava arrives in town. Ava meets up with Kasey telling him she knows how he can save the family ranch. Here's were things start to heat up. Can Kasey trust Ava again? Can they keep their feelings hidden from each other? Or will everything boil over? Stay to find out...

OMG these two have sizzling chemistry, they balance each other so well, great banter, tension for days, he names a house after her, Kasey is so dang swoony, its steamy and the spice was 🔥🔥🔥 oh and did I mention he hasn’t been with anyone since Ava 🫠🫠

The way this man is so down bad for his girl, I couldn't get enough.

These Bennett brothers keep getting better and better. But Kasey might just be my fave.

Run and grab your copy today.

This series is everything. The Bennetts really do deserve the world. Sugar is a tale of second chances and sacrifice, and it is also a lesson in trusting your gut and fate. Ava and Kasey were inevitable, and their story is so obvious and yet such a rollercoaster. I truly believe it had to happen exactly the way it did for them to get their happy ending.

This book is a bit less emotional than Sunshine and Peaches, so I was spared a lot of tears, but it still captures your heart so fully. Ava’s avoidance is clear as day. Everybody sees it, even her, but nobody more so than Kasey. At times, I felt like the chapters written from his POV were even more informative than Ava’s own. He knows her heart completely. It’s beautiful.

I’d have liked to have seen some more flashbacks, maybe from Ava’s perspective, especially to understand who knew what about their relationship. At times, it feels like everybody knew. At others, they tell us nobody knew. It does get a little confusing, especially with Ava’s father. Her stepmother is also never properly introduced so I’d have liked to have found out more about her and perhaps why she doesn’t appear to like Ava much, and vice versa.

I’m so excited to see what good things come to Brooks, and to learn even more about Sawyer. Who will inevitably end up with Wylie Jo? I guess time will tell! I can’t wait to find out.

Without her I am nothing. With her, I am the entire goddamn world. She is the answer to every question, the light in every dark room. She’s the air in my lungs and the blood in my veins and when she smiles at me like she is right now, I come alive.

I am such a sucker for a man who is absolutely down bad for his girl—and when you throw in second chance romance and a marriage of convenience? That’s the perfect book sundae right there.

The way grumpy Kasey (who honestly isn’t all that grumpy when it comes to Ava) shows up for her in this book was everything. Was their situation messy? Yep. But this man has been pining for her since the day she left ten years ago, and it’s written all over his face and in every single thing he does. He’s just been patiently waiting for her to finally see it—see him. And let me tell you, that fake marriage to save the Bennett ranch? It did not feel fake by the end.

I devoured this book. Like, finished-it-in-under-24-hours devoured it. The pacing was great, the slow unraveling of secrets kept me hooked, and Kasey completely stole my heart.

Huge thanks to Michaela Jean Taylor for the ARC. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

This is the third book in the Saddlebrook Falls series by Michaela Jean Taylor. Coming back to the Bennett brothers feels like home to me at this point, and I can’t wait for the other books to come out. 🤩

I must admit that, for now, Rhett has stolen my heart 💕, but Kasey wins a very close second place. This second-chance romance will make you scream with anger and love. It will make you wait (oh, you will have to wait) for the final HEA—but when it happens, it’s so cute.

The author did a great job describing Ava’s burden, as she still suffers from being abandoned by her mother. She doesn’t feel like she’s enough. She thinks that nobody wants her, that she doesn’t deserve happiness—but each time, Kasey is there to prove her wrong.

✨ Kasey is the definition of yearning—a MAN who waits 10 years for the love of his life, who endures all the pain of a breakup, yet is still willing to love again. Where are you, Kasey? I need you 😫

For readers who like:

💜 marriage of convenience
💜 not his baby

Thank you @ for the ARC copy and the opportunity to read your stories early. I’m obsessed with these amazing cowboys! 💕

A marriage of convenience that’s also a second chance romance with a dash of not his baby???? You get a combination of Kasey Bennett and Ava Jones that had me rooting and swooning.

After a love affair as teenagers that was quintessential in love but also tumultuous at times, Ava left to chase her dreams outside Saddlebrook Falls and Kasey was heartbroken. Now, she’s back and offering to marry Kasey to save his family’s ranch.

Despite his nursed broke heart and trepidations, it’s obvious from the jump that Kasey’s still obsessed with Ava. And Ava, while a bit gun-shy, is clearly still in love with Kasey. Seeing their arc together, finding their footing, Kasey showing her his love in the ways that he can and Ava having to do her own self-reflection to accept that love was everything I love in a second chance romance. The way Kasey was obsessed with her baby after he learned about it simply because it was Ava’s: Down bad man alert!!!!

A great installment into the Saddlebrook Falls and Bennett family world. I’m eager to see the last two Bennetts get their own happily ever afters in the next two books.

this was such a sweet story and I was so glad to be back in Saddlebrook Falls! Sugar is book three in the series, this time featuring Kasey Bennett and his longtime love, Ava, who comes back into town a decade after breaking his heart and leaving. she comes back to town down on her luck after her dream career seems to go up in flames and with her, she brings secrets. Kasey is struggling with his family as his eldest brother is dealing with the death of his wife/mother to his sons, and all Kasey wants to do is keep the ranch from drowning in debt and keep it running before his good for nothing uncle tries to take it from them now that none of the brothers are married, due to some newly discovered clause in the deed. Ava has just the idea to keep their ranch from being taken and will help her move on from her last few years, but a fake marriage is the last thing Kasey wants from her after she broke his heart so many years ago.

This is my favorite book of the series! I would recommend reading books 1 & 2 so you are aware of the backstory where this book picks up a couple weeks after book 2 ends.

Kasey & Ava get a second chance at love when she comes barreling back into his life after 10 years asking to marry her so she can help him save the family ranch... but she has her own reasons for wanting this marriage too.

Things I Enjoyed:
- Kasey's unwavering love for Ava as kids and now adults - he never let go of her
- Ava's fiesty personlity was soooo good - her standing up for Liam made me smile so hard!
- The family support of Kasey's no matter what - they are there for each other and I love that bond they have.
- He names his horse after her...SWOON!
- He is able to open to her but allows her time to realize she does love him and be vulnerable with him

Things I Didn't Enjoy:
- No resolution to the land dealings still
- Her not explaining things sooner, he deserved answers before the wedding

Thank you to the author, Michaela, for this ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!

thank you michaela jean taylor for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review!

this book is the third book in the interconnected standalone series saddlebrook falls, which follows kasey and ava. they had a passionate young love until ava leaves saddlebrook falls for 10 years. then she comes back and kasey needs a wife so ava volunteers herself up.

i was really excited about this book if i'm being completely honest. and i was enjoying it for the most part (and i did enjoy it) but there was just a few things i didn't love. what i did love is seeing all the other characters from previous books in this one. the found family was everything in this! i also really enjoyed kasey as a character, he was sweet and funny and of course a swoony, hot cowboy. it was fast paced for the most part but the middle dragged for me a bit.

now what i didn't love. i did not love the plot? i'm not even sure if that's the correct word for it but i went into this thinking it was strictly marriage of convience. which it is a marriage of conienence

Michaela did it again folks, and I swear each book just keeps getting better and better!

I have been excited for Kasey and Ava’s story since the epilogue in Peaches, and it was done so well! I love a good second chance romance, and this one was top tier!

Kasey is a man who knows what he wants, and even 10 years later, he still wants Ava. It doesn’t matter that she broke his heart, she’s still the one. Ava knows deep down that Kasey is the one for her, but he makes her feel things she’s never felt before and she’s scared. But as time goes on, they realize they are still a match made in heaven. Throw in a baby that isn’t his, but he will raise like his own, and your heart will melt as you read this 💜

I do believe this series is best read in order, so please start with Sunshine, then Peaches and lastly Sugar to get the whole down low on the Bennett Brothers and their feisty loves 💜

You will love Sugar if you love
💜 Marriage of Convenience
💜 Second Chance Romance
💜 Not his baby, but loves it all the same
💜 But daddy I love him

I absolutely loved getting to jump back into Saddlebrook Falls! A second-chance romance, fake marriage, and a guy who is down bad for the girl who got away was the perfect trifecta!

“Since I met you, I’ve been desperate to take care of you. Borderline out of my mind with a need to honor you and protect you and— and even when you’re terrorizing me with your stubborn fucking brattiness, you’re all I want. You make my world spin, sugar. And I want you to know what it is to be truly, deeply, madly loved. You and all your messes. Without conditions.”

I loved getting flashbacks of their teenage years, and seeing them come back together and work through some tough issues was so good. And seeing those Bennett brothers stand up for their girls was sooo perfect!

“I don’t mean to sound like that girl or anything,” Layla continues, “but it was kind of hot seeing our men get all peacocky like that. We did good, girls.”

Michaela Jean Taylor knows how to write angst, yearning and emotion so well, and her feisty FMCs are some of the best! I can’t wait to see what comes for the rest of the Bennett brothers!

I loved Ava and Kasey together. And yessss we get past flashbacks, this time for Kasey, like we did with Layla in book 1! Somehow this makes the difference. Not that Rhett's book wasn't good. I'm not usually someone who enjoys second chance romance, it can be hit or miss. But this one was a hit, striking the right chords.

I think it helps that Ava is such an interesting person with a lot of quirks that can be both likeable and dislikable but yet make her feel very human.

Kasey was as fascinating as promised. I felt his conflict and understood him well. I also like how he was honest when he needed to be, as the story went on, and that he tried communicating.

You know, I think I like Sugar and Sunshine best of all the books in the series so far. And after a few duds this sure as hell reminded me of some of the more engaging cowboy romances!

I have more thoughts, but another day when they come more fully into being in my mind.

After Peaches, I really didn’t know what to expect with Sugar, I mean look at that cover, just makes you swoon! Anyways Kasey and Ava were just wild. I really didn’t know what was happening with these two honestly, and I mean that in a good way! At first they are at each other’s throats not wanting to really communicate with one another. They are just hiding things, being secretive and I mean I get it after Peaches, Kasey has trust issues. And after what Ava’s history, what’s a girl supposed to do to protect her heart.

Kasey was hurt by Ava when they were younger, now 10 years later, he tries to protect himself but, Ava has always been his, wither she knows it or not! Kasey is just a sweetheart, I mean he tries to be there for his girl, the only he knows how and well he is there for her in ways her own family wasn’t. I’m glad they got their happy ending but now I want to know what about Sawyer and Brooks? Will they get a happy ending too??

Thank you Michaela for cowboy Kasey!!!

Review:

Wow! I absolutely adored this book ❤️
The perfect angsty and emotional second chance romance.

I fell in love with Ava & Kasey from the very start of the book.

Ava is such a strong-willed, loyal and resilient FMC, I couldn’t help but love her and want everything to be okay for her.
Kasey is just the best MMC, he is so clearly head over heels in love with Ava and has been since they were teenagers.

Seeing their relationship develop throughout the book, from the snippets of their relationship in the past to current day, I just wanted them to be happy ❤️

Seeing the drama from the previous books being resolved in ‘Sugar’ felt like a weight being lifted off our shoulders.

I can’t wait to see more from those Bennett Boys. Bring on book 4!

A massive thank you to Michaela for this ARC!

This series has become one of my newest cowboy obsessions.

Sugar is the third and last book in the series at this time and follows Kasey & Ava and their arranged marriage.

Ava is Kasey's ex gf who ditched him years ago and comes back to town at a time when the Bennett family need one of the brothers to be married in order for them to keep the ranch.

I'm not sure I'm on board with Ava's reasoning for needing to leave years ago but I think the way the book is written showing how overwhelmed she gets was written really well. Kasey is honest to god such a good fucking man down to this bones.

I honestly could read about these Bennett boys ALL DAY LONG. Not a single book I have not enjoyed.

Read this book if you like:

Book 3 in Saddlebrook Falls series and I’m still fully, unapologetically obsessed with the Bennett brothers.

'Sugar' follows Kasey and Ava, teenage soulmates who’ve been madly and deeply in live, until Ava vanished and stayed gone for a whole decade… only to return with a plan to marry Kasey.
Why? You’ll have to dive in yourself. 😉

The plot is addictive, the twists land perfectly, and even the one trope I usually run from, was handled so beautifully I couldn’t even be mad. 🥹🥹🥹🥹

This book put me through everything: laughing, tearing up, muttering “Ava, please get a grip."

I’m so grateful to be on Michaela’s ARC team again… and I’m already desperate for book four.

Saddlebrook Falls series has me in a chokehold and I’m not even pretending to fight it. 💘🔥

This series is so good! This story is second chance, it has always been you, with plenty of angst. Your heart will take a beating, but mended in the end, and the suspense.

Ava is written perfectly, sassy but strong. She is strong willed or stubborn and doesn’t give a care! She guards her heart. The walls she has built will come down at her pace, but she does deserve all the love.

Kasey was still in love with Ava and would move mountains for her. He has to respect her timeline and this frustrates him. Their story is had me glued to the pages.

There are threads that continue from previous books, so please read them in order. I am looking forward to the next book.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I was really excited to read this book because the first two were sooo good. I'm obsessed with the characters in this series and their stories. Kasey's and Ava's is no different. I enjoy that the romance is heavy but also there is depth to the plot. The found family is the best part of this series.

I did finish the book wanting more. Maybe something more with the horse, Sugar, something more with the baby, or even plans for the ranch in the future. I loved those story lines and wanted maybe an Epilogue with a look into the future.

I wonder if we'll be getting a book with Brooks.... that would be interesting👀 Or, will we be getting a look into the Rustlers next? I just want more from all of these characters and am excited to see whats next.

I fear I may love this one more than Sunshine.... I didn't even know that was possible.

This second chance romance really kept me engulfed the entire time. I did see the major plot point really early in, but I knew it was going to make me love Kasey and Ava's story even more and I was absolute 100% correct in thinking so. Kasey's never ending care and gentle touch with Ava made me melt like a dang popsicle in the southern heat. Ava is so feisty and headstrong that I felt connected to her in a way that I don't feel with a lot of characters. Overall, the story is just perfect. I really hope we get to see more of them in the future... Even if I could get a small novella, I would be thrilled!

Sugar is the third Saddlebrook Falls instalment and oh gosh it was an emotional rollercoaster!

I really enjoyed Kasey in both Sunshine and Peaches, so was very excited to read his story. His background with Ava tearjerker and the additional surprise added even more drama!

I loved Sugar! If you’re looking for a cowboy, second chance romance, marriage of convenience AND a cute lil pregnancy* added in then this is the book for you!

* whilst the book includes a pregnancy it doesn’t go super detailed in it. The FMC is actively pregnant throughout with a few appointments but it is more of a side note throughout.

Another amazing tale from the Queen of devastating Cowboys! If you are looking for a second chance, marriage of convenience cowboy romance that will have you gripping the edge of your seat, gasping for air, sudden bursts of laughter, and some ugly tears - look no further! Kasey has always known Ava would be his one and only love. Ava is a runner, hiding from vulnerability and holding tight to her freedom. Her running has brought her back to Saddlebrook Falls just in time to help Kasey save his ranch from his greedy Uncle in the wake of Brooks' tragedy. Their fire burns intense and strong, even after 10 years apart - but is it too intense? Prepare yourself, and dive in!

Sugar by Michaela Jean Taylor is OUT TODAY!
It is book 3 in the Saddlebrook Falls series. Each of these books is about a Bennett brother and Sugar is Kasey Bennett’s book.
These books are emotional small town romances that I absolutely have devoured and LOVE!
Sugar is a second chance marriage of convenience romance with a side of not his baby as well. All perfect ingredients to make this book chef’s kiss!
This book was an emotional roller coaster and I loved every minute of the ride even when it made me cry like a baby.
Bring the tissues when you read this book, heck the whole series, but Michaela will put your heart back together by the end and you’ll be asking for more…which I did!

I read this book on a rainy Friday afternoon and it was the perfect vibe for this afternoon. It was warm, comforting, intimate.

This is a second chance cowboy romance with an accidental pregnancy - which is not his. It's a marriage of convenience that she offers up to help save his ranch. In short, very awkward beginnings. However, as they get more familiar with their current selves and the past sort of leaks back in to the present, the story really heats up.

It's not particularly spicy - but that's actually kinda nice because the focus is on their relationship & their journey back to each other. I really enjoyed this one.
