Battle Beyond Earth: Resurrection. The first instalment in an epic new series that tells of humanity's desperate struggle to survive in an uncertain and war-torn future.
Four centuries have passed since the end of the alien invasion that almost destroyed humanity. The surviving races, human and alien, now live in peace as allies. But when a terrifying new enemy cuts a path of destruction through the Alliance, there seems little hope of resistance. The situation is desperate, and desperate measures are required. With reluctance, they agree to resurrect a hero from the past, Colonel Mitch Taylor. A mortally wounded man held in suspended animation since the end of the last war. A man who may hold the only key to their survival.
Taylor emerges into a world he no longer recognises. A new alien race lives among them, a race he does not trust. Society, the Marine Corps, even the way he speaks, nothing fits this new life. Many in the Alliance refuse to accept him, for Taylor is an icon of a bygone era. Respected by some, hated by many. Isolated, alone, regarded as little more than a relic of a past era, he must accept the horror of knowing his old life is gone. He must also overcome the new enemy that stands before him, an enemy that wants nothing more than to destroy all known life in the universe.
Battle Beyond Earth is a futuristic sci-fi action adventure, a standalone story in its own right. Yet it will also give a new perspective and a new storyline to the readers who followed Mitch Taylor's exploits in the epic series 'Battle Earth'.

This book is one book of terrifying battle. The enemy is it seems impossible to win, it IS impossible to win. Yet with the right leader, who Knows? Perhaps impossible is only just a word. When Taylor is resurrected, a great leader 400 years before comes back alive, impossible just might be nothing but a word to be overcome. But the cost!
I didn't realize this was the continuation of another series (Battle Earth?) and there were just too many holes and glossed over back-story for me to be comfortable with. Maybe I will find and listen to the first series before coming back to this.
It has been over 300 years since humanity made peace with the Krycenaeans, and even managed to acquire two additional alien allies - the Aranui and the Cholans. Together the four races face an even bigger threat to their existence when they are attacked by another alien race, the Morohta. The situation is dire, as they have all been at peace for so long, that they have forgotten how to wage war. As a solution, they resurrect Mitch Taylor from suspended animation to try and lead them to victory once again. This book has it all; humour, jealousy, betrayal, sacrifice, loyalty, love and friendship and epic battles galore. I loved it and couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the series!
Mitch Taylor is brought back to life to save the four races of the Alliance. They all believe that he's out of his depth but he proves them wrong by managing to to the impossible. He takes a bunch of people who never really fight a war and trains them into a fighting force to he proves of.
This it's the first book in what promises to be a very good series and I highly recommend it to everyone.
I did enjoy this exciting sci fi story! Mixing characters from the current era with futuristic descendants! I liked the plot, ideas & flew through this first part to the adventure.
This is a very good story including future, aliens, warp travel, war, victory and loss. It is fast paced an were it not for a man literally ripped from his grave, the alliance would be over. The Immortals can live to fight another day. Enjoyable read worth your while.
