When I run, I go to the only family I have left. I never thought I'd end up jobless, broke, and living with five bikers in a small town in Texas. But I'm determined to pick myself back up and make the best of it. I also never expected the six foot five, former Navy SEAL who's completely off-limits. He's my brother's friend. And his boss. But when my past comes hunting, I won't have any choice but to rely on Haven MCC.
I love this book. I honestly couldn’t put it down. Dylan first meets Danielle at the gas station. It was insta love at first sight. Danielle will say whats on her mind.
I absolutely loved this book! I cannot wait to continue this series. This is my first book from this author, and I will definitely be reading more. I love the way they write the storyline was so good. The banter in the comedic relief was so on point. I laughed through the whole thing. Dylan and Dani are an amazing couple, that you love from the beginning. All the side characters are fabulous, I hope Ace gets his own storyline because I will so be here for that.
I enjoyed the humour whit and storyline , good main character good bad guy and not too much hanky panky some books focuse on that too much rather than the story and they become
I think this is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Dylan is a thoroughly enjoyable book from a new author. It has no sex scenes, which is a bold choice for an MC romance, but I’m not mad about it. I think the TikTok trend for spicier and spicier books is over the peak, and I suspect the trend will be for a more restrained approach to intimate scenes, However, I wouldn’t call this book “clean”; there is swearing, toilet jokes and conversations about sex, just not on-the-page spice.
The writer has a wonderful gift for dialogue, and I found myself laughing out loud at the banter, not just between our hero and heroine, but secondary characters.
One of the issues writers have when creating heroes who are a pattern-card of romantic perfection, is creating heroines who are both ordinary enough, to be everywoman, but extraordinary enough to attract a hero.
This writer had handled this really well. Dani has escaped an abusive relationship with courage and determination. She has a sense of humour, is very kind and demonstrates a genuine talent for friendship. Although Dani is oblivious, it’s clear Dylan is gone on her from their first meeting.
The book shows some of the flaws of beginning authors. There is a bit of repetition (a lot of throwing heads back and laughing), and the pace slows in the second half. Pacing is the technical aspect of writing new authors often struggle with - in Dylan there are scenes (such as Dani buying a wedding dress), which are charming in themselves, but slow the tension of the narrative.
I think the stalking plot could have been more persistent, and the stakes higher. As it is, not much happens and the resolution is anti-climactic. The stakes are too low for the plot to energise the storyline.
Overall this is an enjoyable read from a promising new author. I bought the sequel and pre-ordered the third book; I’m looking forward to seeing this writer develop.
If you enjoy Nina Levine’s MC books, you might like Neve Onoros.excellent banter,
5++ Stars! My last read of 2025 was THE BEST ONE!🤩🤩🤩 This was everything I love/want in a romance and none of the things I hate. This was a true romance and not a sexfest posing as a romance like many, many MC romances are. The more MC romances I have read over the last several years almost exclusively, the more boring the sex scenes are. There are only so many ways a sex scene can be written. Too many MC romance writers go for shock value and adding too many excessively long raunchy and explicit scenes adding in all kinds of kink in a desperate attempt to be interesting. That this writer was brave enough to write a clean romance will put her at the top of my list for go to reads. I really hope she continues with that theme in future books.
I could totally relate to Danielle unlike 95% of FMC's in other MC books. She was a breath of fresh air. She was funny and sexy but not in a promiscuous slutty whorish way that is often potrayed.
Dylan, my new favorite MMC. He was pure Alpha without being an a$$hole. It was instalove for him and he was THERE for Danielle without being demanding and pushy about it. Giving her time to heal after what she had gone through and giving her a way to make her dream come true.
There was not a lot of MC business which I would have liked to see more of but it worked for this MC since there also was plenty of time spent with getting to know many of the other members of the club.
I had to slow myself down while reading this because I wanted to devour it but at the same time I didn't want it to end too quickly.
I read exclusively off my KU and Kobo plus subscriptions with the exception of about 3 authors none of who write MC romances and I read this off of KU but next paycheck I will be purchasing it for sure.
Keep on doing what you did with Dylan, Ms. Onoros. I LOVED IT!! 😍😍😍
meh.. not your typical MC, in that it's not all club business and club bunnies. decent book but also something to do with the writing, i ended up skimming because it got repetitive, boring and a bit long winded at times. Everything is just generic too, like a genericlly written small town in texas, where? it refers to winding hills and its a small town, so the hill country? i live in small town texas, this didn't feel like it, it fell random and could have been anywere. What I liked, the fmc was funny for the most part, her inner monologue had me cackling a few times because I could relate, you know the quote 'i came I saw I made it awkward ' that's meee and her at times.. also the banter was alright, better than a lot of books out there, there were side characters that were interesting, both the mc's backstories were interesting yet at times I was bored. I think it mostly has to do with, the fmc pov and you are in her head the whole time and that gets old, real quick plus she spends sooooooooo much time drooling over the mmc, it would have been nice to have his pov. This is isn't overtly ai written but still has that feel since the writing was repetitive, a little vague, inconsistent at times. The mc doesn't come across as a manwhore, the fmc is not some spineless doormat virgin/porn star but she should be better along in life at her age despite the ex, there is no spice, it is closed door and a lot of therapy talk which got annoying.
The story is absolutely wonderful. I couldn't put it down. It does need some editing though. Words are misspelled, or misplaced and at least once Dlyan's name was used instead of James. The mistakes didn't take away from the story though and I plan on reading more from this author.
Club President , ex Seal and business owner. Meets his match in Danielle who comes to Haven after leaving an abusive relationship. They are both great characters and make this book fun and interesting. A great book to start this MC series.
I love Danielle and Dylan. Lots of humour from Dani. Saying that, I was dissappinted that there was absolutely no sexual contact between the h and the H it reminded me of the very tame romances back 30 years ago which was a real shame as we get a lot of description of Dylan's very fine body! I will no doubt read other books by this writer, she does write a good book. I'm just used to more spice 🌶 I adored reading Georgette Heyer Regency romances when I was 17, and the frustration of no physical sexy moments was huge! I felt like that teenage me again, so thats a plus!
