Rate this book
A corrupt town. A girl taken. A fight he can't afford to lose.

Rex Hays thought escaping Firebend would be the hardest part. He was wrong.

After a deadly encounter with a local family, Rex and Zoe are forced to flee. But with his truck broken down and no way to call for help in a world crippled by the CME, their options are running out.

When a relentless deputy tracks them down and drags Rex in for questioning, things go from bad to worse.

At the station, Rex uncovers a terrifying truth—the town’s sheriff is working with the same ruthless men who were hunting Zoe. And now, they have her.

Alone and outnumbered, Rex faces certain death as corruption closes in. Zoe’s captors are moving fast, and time is running out. If Rex doesn’t find a way to escape, she’ll be lost forever.

World Burning 2 is a pulse-pounding post-apocalyptic thriller packed with danger, betrayal, and high-stakes survival. A disaster series perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, A.G. Riddle, Bobby Akart, Jack Hunt, and Ryan Schow.

What..Just leave us hanging?

I didn't realize this series was continued?? There is absolutely nothing about another book. I would never have started it if I'd known. I really like the premise of the story. The characters are easy to love or hate. I would have given a 4-5 but I like reading all in a series, not 2 here and another months down the line.

Intense and excellent!

World Burning 2 is the second book in Shupert's World Burning series, detailing the survival of a veteran, law enforcement, and a region following a catastrophic CME. Rex, Zoe, Pope and and the other protagonists face, corruption, evil, A supremely dangerous religious cult, smuggling of drugs, guns and more, all tangled up in a Gordian knot of mayhem! The pace is relentless, the writing as a whole is superb, with Rex and Zoe being best developed, but Grant, Titus and other antagonists are getting better developed as well. Cliffhangers abound, and I won't spoil them for you. 5/5 stars for excellent writing and plotting. The wait for book 3 will be a very long one! Highly recommended for nearly any adult audience!

Oh boy!

Hold on to your hat and get ready because the doo doo is going to hit the fan.
Poor Zoe, thinking she had made her escape only to find out the hard way the Firebrand law wasn’t on her side. With the threat of death to Rex, she agrees to return to the Crimson Cross compound with Ace. Luckily Deputy Pope convinces his coworker that the sheriff is dirty and together they put him in custody.
Fate has other plans for Morrison though. As it does for Titus and his family.
I pity Ace and the rest of that rag tag group when Rex gets his hands on them!

Good plot, on to book 3

These characters will infuriate you and make you laugh, kudos to the author. There will be unnecessary deaths, but the author did set some of this up in book one. Feels like there is hope, but not a lot of cunning by the regular cult members, like the author is showing their naivete. Still interested to see Rex's next steps.

World Burning book 2 is another exciting and thrilling read. A well written story with a lot of holding your breath moments and the tension mounting with all the key players leading to a potential powder keg that is going to explode. Really looking forward to the next book. Well done Mr Shupert.
