One thing I literally never do is start a series with the last book but when Walker slid into my dms to tell me about this story I couldn’t resist and boy am I glad I did.
Madison has always been on the wrong side of the tracks due to no fault of her own. Her parents and brother and general upbringing has left a bad taste in the mouth of the town in regards to her lineage. After the loss of her brother and trying to care for her mother, she decides to elicit the help from the town’s golden boy, Teller Bailey, by bidding on him in the annual bachelor auction. As the two get to know each other in close proximity both Teller and Madison start to develop real feelings for the other that they’ve never quite had before.
Holy shit. I loved these two. Teller Bailey is a top notch book boyfriend and Mad Maddy who softens her walls and lets Teller in??? Magic. I loved the banter and connection these two shared from the very beginning. I loved how Teller formed his life around Madison and didn’t let her shy away. Seeing the character growth from both of them as their love grew was so fucking sweet it just made sense that our girl loved to bake.

Now I have my work cut out for me to read through the rest of this series. Getting to know all of the Bailey clan was surprisingly easy to keep track of, even if this was my first read of the series. I did find myself wishing I had started at the beginning but only because I love this found family/ actual family of characters!

Okay, I did something totally criminal. I jumped into this series at the end. I NEVER do this. 😅 But honestly? No regrets, because Bourbon Sunset works perfectly as a standalone, and now I’m dying to go back and read every single Bailey book.
Walker Rose has such a gift for found family, small-town drama, and complicated characters with big hearts. Madison broke my heart in the best way. She’s been through so much, and watching the Baileys slowly pull her into their world made me tear up more than once. That kind of quiet acceptance? It hits hard.
And then there’s Teller Bailey 👀 bearded, flannel-wearing, infuriatingly charming. I loved him immediately. Their banter is top-tier, the tension is just right, and the way he shows up for Madison? 10/10, no notes. Their story has grit, heart, and just enough heat to keep things interesting.

Madison wins Teller at a bachelor auction and has him doing renovations on the bar her brother left her when he passed. These two come from opposite sides of the tracks, so Madison has her walls up. Teller slowly breaks them down, becoming friends with her. He brought her to his family dinners with no hesitation, and, of course, they accepted her with open arms.
Madison was dealing with some really heavy grief, and taking care of her mom, who treated her horribly. I loved the ending and how everything worked out for these two! I was proud of them both for going after what they wanted in life.
This is my first book by Walker Rose. Oops, I jumped into the series at the end! This book can be read as a standalone. I do want to go back and read the others though!

Madison was dealing with some really heavy grief, and taking care of her mom, who treated her horribly. I loved the ending and how everything worked out for these two! I was proud of them both for going after what they wanted in life.
This is my first book by Walker Rose. Oops, I jumped into the series at the end! This book can be read as a standalone. I do want to go back and read the others though!

Maddy is known for her explosive temper. She hasn’t had it easy, especially since the town hates her family. By default most people treat her terribly despite the fact that she’s done nothing but share a last name. She’s always just dealt with the bullying but now that her brother has died, she’s left picking up the mess he left behind.
Her brother’s bar is in desperate need of repairs and nobody is willing to do the work. She needs Teller’s help, and he just so happens to be auctioning off one completed project in this year’s Bachelor Auction. All she has to do is win him, and then he can’t say no.
Maddy’s story was heart wrenching. She had me in tears multiple times. I was so frustrated with the way the town treated her and my heart went out to her when Teller went out of his way to poke at her. I found his needling frustrating at first, but loved the way he slowly melted my heart right along with her. I love when a character is able to change my opinion about them!
These two were the perfect complements. Teller is silly and loves the joke around, which paired so well with how serious Maddy was. I loved the way their friendship bloomed. It was great to see that Maddy finally had someone in her corner. This was such a cute ending to this series! I really enjoyed the way it wrapped up, and can’t wait to see what’s next.

My first Walker Rose book!
Now, this is a series, but I've not read the other books in the series. I didn't feel lost or anything, so it's a book that can be enjoyed by itself. I do now, though. wanna read the other books in the series!
Madison has had it ROUGH. Growing up in a town that despised her family and was held up by the same standard, even though she was very different. On the wrong side of the tracks, she has nothing but her brothers tore up bar and a mother who doesn't treat her well.
So when the town has an auction, she decides to go all in and buy Teller Bailey. The better off Baileys are a 180 from her family. A family that's well off and loves each other.
Helping out with her bar, Teller sees a close-up view of Madison. He sees someone who's desperate for family, someone talented in the kitchen, and someone he's come to respect. And fall for.
I love the great different sides of the tracks story. These two have some very complicated history, and when they finally get together, you really see Mads blossom.
I loved the squashing of the exes and how far Teller goes for her. I can't wait to read the rest of the Baileys!

Ok why the heck did I wait so long to pick up a Walker book?! This is the last book in the Bourbon Canyon series, and my first book by Walker, and now I need more! I need to get my hands on the rest of this series immediately! This story made me so emotional, especially for the last half of it. My heart absolutely broke for Madison with everything she had to deal with and the hand she got dealt because of her family. She was hardened against everyone and wouldn’t let anyone in until Teller. This man, Teller freaking Bailey!! 🥵😍 He was such an amazing MMC. He was so protective of Madison and supportive of her. He wanted her to have everything she could ever dream of and ugh he was so swoon worthy! I loved their banter and just their connection. They were perfect together and filled the parts that they were each missing within themselves. Walker’s writing was so dang good and had me staying up way too late to devour this beautiful story. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and to read what’s coming next!!

The plot twists and development are so good.
The relationships are incredible and layered with so much history.

Walker Rose delivered a beautiful story filled with love, growth, vulnerability and finding your place when you feel like you don’t belong. Teller and Madison captured my heart with their story.
In Bourbon Sunset, we get to see Teller’s sweet and caring side in full action. That man made me swoon over every single action he took when it came to Maddy. He definitely suprised me with his dirty mouth. The way he protected and put Maddy first was my favourite side of him. I also really enjoyed Madison’s growth. From shedding her past, finding herself and discovering who she really was deep down, this fiesty country girl definitely made Teller work for it at every turn. Together, they formed such a deep connection, made each other better plus their chemistry was down right electric.
As we close the chapter on this beautiful series and open the doors to another, reading the epilogue, knowing from who’s POV it was- which I won’t spoil, made me so emotional. The Bailey family left a mark on my heart and will stay with me.
I really recommend Bourbon Sunset and while it can be read as a standalone, I absolutely recommend the whole Bourbon Canyon series with my whole heart.

I loved this book so much, and I'm so excited to read the other books in the series. I love the way Walker writes, and she adds so much complexity to her characters. She has such a way to connect the reader with her characters on a personal level, and I loved that.
Madison had a rough and traumatic childhood, and that led her to build walls around her heart to protect her from any more hurt. She had so much depth to her character, and I found myself connecting with her in different ways that made me love her more and more. She was so used to being alone and doing everything herself from such a young age that she wasn't used to needing help or asking for help. So when she saw the opportunity to ask for help without actually asking for help, she took it. Winning the auction for Teller to use his construction connections to fix the bar she was given from her brother's death was a huge deal for her. Teller was the golden boy in town and never thought twice about that until he got to know Madison more and spent more time with her. Once Teller realizes how Madison is treated by the people in the town, he starts to understand why Madison doesn't trust anyone. Teller was also a character with depth, not as much as Madison, but we still saw that he struggles with insecurities. Teller lives in fear that his family needs him to keep things going, and he finds that the longer he spends with Madison, the more he realizes how lonely he was before her.
I also love the found family aspect of the story. It brought so much more emotion to the plot, seeing Madison get the family she not only deserved but needed in the Bailey family. They welcomed her with open arms and so much love. The first time they officially met her was beautiful and filled with so much love. Madison was blown away by that. I also adore Mama Bailey with all my heart.
I highly recommend this book to everyone as it's such a fun yet emotional read that leaves you thinking about it for days.

Maddy is the child from an outcast family in a small town. Teller is loved and well known, his entire family is amazing. Maddy bids on Teller at a bachelor auction so he can help remodel the rundown bar she inherited. Poor girl/rich guy. Town dislike/love. Slowwwww burn but so worth it! Emotion packed with healing and Maddy’s realization that Teller may be the person that puts her first and doesn’t leave.

This is the last book in the Bourbon Canyon series but the first one I've read. The book can be read as a stand alone, although there were definitely a lot of family members so I got a bit lost when they all got together. But, that is a minor thing and didn't detract from the story. It was enough to know they were all family, and their family had each other's backs.
I really enjoyed this sweet contemporary romance set in a small town in Montana. Teller is part of a prominent family that own and run a bourbon distillery and cattle ranch. They are wealthy but very nice and down to earth. I particularly liked Teller's mom. She was so sweet and understanding with Madison, but you could tell she was steely in her protection of her family. Teller was burned by love, in a very public and heartbreaking way, and after a brief playboy run where he ran through women like water, he's stopped "dating" women and figures he's just not meant to find the one. He's the town's most eligible bachelor, though, so there is no shortage of women throwing themselves at him.
Madison is back in the town that gave her nothing but bad experiences. Her family is looked down on by everyone, her parents were awful people and fought with everyone, her brother had his own problems and recently died, leaving her his beat up bar and the family homestead, and she has the unfortunate nickname of "Mad Maddy" from her younger days when she lashed out at everyone and everything. She's now divorced, broke, and doing everything she can to care for her ungrateful mother who is in a nursing home and her nephew, which her brother's ex refuses to let her see. She has to repair the bar and get it open so she can support her mother and herself. But, she has no idea how to make the repairs and she can't trust any contractors to treat her fairly, if they'd even return her calls at all. So, she makes a desperate move and bids on, and wins, Teller in a charity auction. She plans to make him her project manager, hoping that as the unofficial town royalty, he'll get everyone to treat her fairly in the repairs. She just didn't bank on him looking so good and being so nice...
The two start out as enemies, but Teller quickly realizes he's got Mad Maddy all wrong and is astonished to discover how badly everyone treats her and her family. I mean, really? In that small of a town? Clueless much, Teller? Anyway, he quickly becomes her champion and is soon daydreaming about kissing her, and more. She also starts daydreaming about kissing him, and before you know it, they are hooking up. I liked seeing how each one slowly lets their guard down around the other and they start seeing the "real" person behind the mask they wear in public. I also liked that they talked with each other rather than letting miscommunication mess things up. I really dislike that trope and it often ruins what would otherwise be a great story. Teller was super supportive of Maddy and although he sometimes tried to steer her into what he thought was best for her, he eventually pulled back and let her work things out for herself. That didn't mean he'd let anyone treat her badly or take advantage of her, however.
Teller's family is an entire character in this book and I loved his relationship with them. I really liked how they folded Maddy into their group and accepted her without question, especially when they gathered with food and drinks to give her girl power strength during an especially difficult time.
This is a quick and easy read that I read in one sitting. The book has a lot of heart, a bit of spice, and will give you all the feels. There are even some fun villains to jeer. I'm very curious about the other books in the series and will probably go back to see how the rest of Teller's family found their true loves.

The two start out as enemies, but Teller quickly realizes he's got Mad Maddy all wrong and is astonished to discover how badly everyone treats her and her family. I mean, really? In that small of a town? Clueless much, Teller? Anyway, he quickly becomes her champion and is soon daydreaming about kissing her, and more. She also starts daydreaming about kissing him, and before you know it, they are hooking up. I liked seeing how each one slowly lets their guard down around the other and they start seeing the "real" person behind the mask they wear in public. I also liked that they talked with each other rather than letting miscommunication mess things up. I really dislike that trope and it often ruins what would otherwise be a great story. Teller was super supportive of Maddy and although he sometimes tried to steer her into what he thought was best for her, he eventually pulled back and let her work things out for herself. That didn't mean he'd let anyone treat her badly or take advantage of her, however.
Teller's family is an entire character in this book and I loved his relationship with them. I really liked how they folded Maddy into their group and accepted her without question, especially when they gathered with food and drinks to give her girl power strength during an especially difficult time.
This is a quick and easy read that I read in one sitting. The book has a lot of heart, a bit of spice, and will give you all the feels. There are even some fun villains to jeer. I'm very curious about the other books in the series and will probably go back to see how the rest of Teller's family found their true loves.

Teller Teller Teller...I knew I would love you even more when we reached your book.
Tellers been a consistent character throughout the series; appearing in his siblings stories. He always stood out to me. He fought for what was best for them and sometimes shook em up with things they needed to hear; like in Tenor's case. He was the Goat in that book. lol So i was so excited to finally get my hands on his story.
He is a wonderful guy who always wants the best for his loved ones and those in his close circle. He is a grounded character in where he is in life and what he does. Apart from of course finding his match like all his siblings have done before him. I think He is my favorite Bailey brother but it can be in competition with Tate. so either of those 2 brothers<3
Mad Maddy: She is probably my favorite most relatable FMC in this book. A character who has been very much misunderstood. This woman has gone through so much and has grown up with such hatred from not just the town but her family. Her only saving grace was her brother leaving her everything. You cant help but feel for her and root for her to get everything she wants. She deserves the best and I'm glad Teller was there to give her all the happiness.
I couldn't give it a full 5 stars because in the beginning, Teller was a little bit of a meanie. She actually did a good thing in my opinion for him a long time ago and was thanked/apologized to only in the present in a very nonchalant way that was not right. The tension and comfortableness she had already felt was added from him for yearssss. Plus I didn't like how Teller was brushing off and not understanding how the town is treating her, just because of her last name when it was very clearly obvious in their treatment of her to when he did stuff.
I was also slightly worried when they started getting it on because no way would I allow Teller to hurt My girl Madison if he didn't take what they were doing seriously! cause I absolutely love her the most! lol
Another point I didn't like is when she deserved to do what she truly wanted and was backtracking because of her feelings towards the Baileys. I was like "no!! nuh uh!! GO GIRL!!! LIVE YOUR DREAMS!!" so it upset me a little that at the end Teller gave her the extra nudge. It felt like permission and also a little weakness on her part, when she should've stood strong after everything she had to sacrifice.
But Teller being all time protective was the cherry on top!! he was super sexy and hot when it came to loving her and just being there for her!! so irresistible baby!! I absolutely loved this story!!! but i also loved all the characters in here!! MAMA Bailey took the GOAT spot in this book. for that scene near the end when she talks to Teller. You know if you've read it...summed up everything!! . Love her! She is Queen <3

It seems they are almost phasing into a new stage in their lives and it was wonderful to see how far they've come from when we first meet them in Myles book(who I also love). I loved seeing all the family members together and just simply having a bbq or a dinner. It was filled with such warmth and we got to experience why they are such a great family through Maddy's eyes.

I did try to read the previous books, but ended up DNFing the first one because the adoption/foster care storyline took up too much of the story for me. I decided to go ahead and still read this ARC though because the MMC, Teller is not adopted / a foster child
I don't know if this is marketed as a standalone, but there were a lot of things that I was confused about (like Maddy's history/backstory) probably because I didn't read the first five books. I also found it hard to keep the the connection between the MCs, their exes and Maddy's brother/nephew straight- I kept having to go back and rework it in my head 😂
I started off not really liking Maddy, even though I totally understand why she is the way she is. She definitely grew on me though, and my opinion did a 180 by the end of the book- I think her character is relatable, wonderfully complex and has an incredible growth arc. She is definitely the star of the story.
I also enjoyed how both MCs were essentially fighting against their last names.
Teller is sweet and swoony and everything you'd expect from a 40 something bourbon distiller who thinks he's never going to find love. It was a tiny bit too insta-lusty for my taste but I still enjoyed their relationship and watching how he took care of her as she worked through her shit.
Also need to mention that the radiographer takes XRs, not the radiologist (they're the docs). Radiologists would never deign to do that kind of grunt work 😂

Ok, I absolutely need to go back and read the rest of this series, cuz I loved this book so much!
Bourbon Sunset is a small town, enemies to lovers, cowboy romance between Maddy and Teller.
It was so easy to relate to Maddy. I know how living in a small town can feel stifling, somewhere that you can’t grow as a person, or have dreams and aspirations because they don’t fit the boxes people try to put you in. And I loved that she has so much fight in her, refusing to let anyone see her struggle, but also never stooping to those people’s level of pettiness. I loved that Teller brings out the best parts of her, and through his love for her, she’s able to find a family and a home for the first time ever.
Teller is incredible. He cannot stand for any mistreatment towards Maddy, long before they’re ever truly spending time together. He has such a big heart, and truly wants to see the best in people. And once he gets to know Maddy, he quickly becomes one of her biggest confidants and her biggest cheerleader in everything she does. He would do anything to make her feel wanted and safe and happy, and he definitely follows through with both his words and his actions. Everyone is going to fall head over heels for him, just like Maddy did.

After reading the others in the series last month I applied for an ARC and was super happy to be accepted. This book might be my favourite yet.
This is interconnected standalone so can be read without reading the others but it makes the reading experience better imo if you have read the whole series first.
The main tropes for this I would say is (soft) enemies to lovers, forced proximity, he falls first, found family (for the fmc)
Madison is a victim of her circumstances of a crappy upbringing and a cheating ex husband, and has been left her brothers bar after he died. However the bar was completely trashed and needed fixing before it could re open, yet due to her family name no one would help her. What does she decide to do? Buy teller bailey at the bachelor auction for one completed project to help with the bar. Everyone loves the baileys as they are bourbon royalty in their small town, but madison is still holding onto a grudge from years ago with teller. As teller starts to understand madison more he also starts falling and caring. He is basically the ultimate book boyfriend.
The spice was amazing, the plot even better. If you love cowboy romances, spice and HEA this whole book series is for you.

Teller is the perfect match for her and I enjoyed how he slowly, but surely, broke down all of her walls.
Teller’s family was so great! And I need to go back and read some more of their stories.

I have never skipped all the books in a series and read the last one but I did it for this. Walker Rose sent me a DM and asked me if I would be interested in reading an advanced copy of this. I nearly said no because I didn’t have time to read the first 4 but I am so glad I didn’t! This can definitely be read as a standalone but I am so excited to go back to the beginning and read them all.
Teller and Madison were a perfect frenemies to lovers story. He definitely fell first and Maddy was just so caught up in self doubt she couldn’t see it. What man brings you a selection of candy because they felt bad they annoyed you. No man, I tell you - no man. Maddy humbled Teller and lowered his ego to normal level. He’s a man that is use to getting whatever and whoever he wants but not with Maddy.
Maddy had a tragic backstory and never had anyone on her team until Teller. He showed her that it was ok for others to help, to set boundaries and to do what you love. He never stopped encouraging her to lean into the things that made her happy and leave the things that didn’t behind.
A slow burn romance - but things did heat up 🌶️🌶️

Bourbon Sunset was the perfect goodbye to the Bailey crew, and Teller’s story gave me everything I wanted and more. I’ve been hoping Madison would get her moment, and she absolutely shines here. She’s been through hell—grieving her brother, caring for a cruel mother, and surviving a town that never gave her a chance—and I loved watching her finally fight for herself. Teller sees that strength in her from the start, and I loved how quickly he owned his mistakes and started showing up for her in every way that mattered.
Their chemistry is snarky and slow-burn and so satisfying, and I loved how their interactions turned the “Mad Maddy” nickname into something powerful. Plus, their exes were truly the worst, which made the wins that much sweeter. And the epilogue? Emotional, joyful, and exactly what I wanted for every single Bailey. I’m going to miss this world, but I am so ready for Foster House.

This is my second cowboy romance and I did enjoy it. I admit it’s not my favourite trope, especially since it’s mixed with small town romance, but this plot was good. I’m used to reading dark romance plots so while it wasn’t at the intensity I’m used to and I didn’t find it as captivating, it was a fun, cute read. It’s really cute and I love their chemistry. At first I was meh with the plot, but as it progressed I really liked it. She buys him at a charity auction (he put himself up there) and saves him from being bought for his ex, and in return he has to help her rebuild her dads bar. He falls first, but it is because she’s more guarded because of her past: Also there’s so much drama! Like damn small towns are intense with gossip. The ending I kind of expected but it still hit the right places. I enjoyed this and give it a 3.8/5

Holy man! So first off this is the 6th book in the series but the 1st I’ve read! They are interconnected but I had no issues following the story! Can also confirm I’ll be going back to the beginning and reading all of them soon! This is Teller & Madison’s story. Teller is part of the family everyone knows and loves in town while Madison has always had her parent’s reputation held against her. Madison is starting to renovate her brother’s broken down bar and realizes she needs more help than she has so she bids on Teller at the bachelor auction. Working close together obviously isn’t the best thing for these 2 but they grow closer not without some growing pains of course! The way Teller has Madison’s back made my heart all happy. I absolutely loved the way Teller loves Madison. Madison is tough as heck and I respected her so much.

When @walker_rose_books asked me to ARC read Bourbon Sunset, she marketed it for lovers of Laura Pavlov and Elsie Silver and boy was she right! This had the small town vibes, found family, journey to self-love, and sexy cowboys! I definitely jumped in with the final book of the series after reading the intro novella but it did not deter my enjoyment of this book. I freaking adored Teller Bailey and his family. They were welcoming, kind hearted, and supportive. I was instantly connected to Mads. She had strong walls built up to protect herself and it took her awhile to accept that someone could care for her. The writing was so strong and I was captivated by the whole story. I am working through the back log now and I’m so excited for the next series! 5⭐️ 2.5🌶️

ARC review:
Teller Bailey was so swoon-worthy 😍 with major golden retriever energy. I loved Madison and Teller together, there was definitely an ease to their relationship that you could feel through the page. This was my intro to Walker Rose and I was worried about jumping into a new series after realizing it was book 6, but it worked so well as a standalone and now I want to go back and read the rest of the series.
Teller Bailey was so swoon-worthy 😍 with major golden retriever energy. I loved Madison and Teller together, there was definitely an ease to their relationship that you could feel through the page. This was my intro to Walker Rose and I was worried about jumping into a new series after realizing it was book 6, but it worked so well as a standalone and now I want to go back and read the rest of the series.

This was my first book by Walker Rose. It was definitely an emotional journey. I really felt for Madison throughout everything that happened. She stayed tough and didn't turn out like her family. Teller came around at the perfect time to help bring a new perspective and show her love and how a family should be like. When they were on the sidewalk talking to Wendi and Damien 🤯 mind blown. I felt so bad for Madison, but I loved that all those people heard the truth. The ending was perfect, and I kind of had guessed what was going to happen, but it was still good. Will definitely read more by this author!

I want to live in Bourbon Canyon 🤩
Loved the world around the couple, and the sense of closure from reading about couples from previous books, but I didn’t fall head over heels for the main couple. The ‘fall’ just happened a bit too quick for me.
