She tasted my blood and smiled. Now nothing will save her from me.
Lilith was never meant to exist—half-human, half-nightmare. I bought her in chains, ready to bleed her dry. But she took from me instead. Now my power burns in her veins. My mark stains her soul. She runs. She fights. She thinks she still belongs to herself. She’s wrong.
She woke something ancient in me. And now? I’ll never let her go.

If you love brutal magic, blood-drenched obsession, and the kind of villain who doesn’t ask for permission—he takes—then you’re in the right place. This is a dark fantasy romance where the monster doesn’t get redeemed. He gets worshipped. Escape this world for Protheka, where the chains bite, the blood sings, and love is just another kind of power. HEA guaranteed. Sanity… not so much.
My first time reading this author and I am in absolute awe! Despite the page length I found myself fully engrossed from start to finish. This book is part of a larger world but still is made to feel like a standalone with no lack of incredible world building. The tiny glimpse I got of the larger world made me want to go and read the rest of the books right after!! The magic shown here was unique and desperately left me needing more of an understanding of it. The tension between the two of them is is palpable you can almost feel it while reading. And of COURSE it's the best and slowest slow burn imageable which leads to the best kind of romance in my opinion Some of their interactions felt repetitive to me but it was not a definitive issue to me.
"Wicked Obsession" by Wynter Raven & Celeste King is a slow-burning paranormal romance. Maelrick is a powerful, magical scholar who likes to study others. His current subject is Lillith, who is not supposed to exist because of her genetic makeup (think beautiful female Frankenstein's monster). There is a lot of action within this novel. Maelrick and his four brothers have to fight against enemies outside and inside of their fortress castle. This story is based on blood magic.
There was a lot of description and minimal dialogue. The description of Maelrick and Lillith in the novel did not match the cover that I received. I like the cover to give me a visual of the characters, but in this case, it wasn't even close. In slow burn novels, dialogue is essential to me. Because of the minimal amount of dialogue in this novel, I lost interest early. Otherwise, the characters were well developed.
I would recommend this novel to someone who likes slow burn paranormal novels with minimal dialogue and blood magic.

4 1/2 stars - This was an enjoyable story among this series. The characters were likable, and the story was entertaining to read, and the worldbuilding was detailed and it was well written. Maybe because I read a lot of Protheka romance stories from Wynter Raven and Celeste King, I'm becoming blasé, so this didn't grab me from the beginning as much but overall, I'd enjoyed it. This story is about Lilith a slave who's chained in the basement because of her blood and hidden powers because she's half human and half Vrakken who was bought by Maelrik Drazharel whose curiosity has been pique. What occurs was an enjoyable story I'd received a copy and volunteer to read and review.
and Lilith. Hes an unnamed monster that is a dark god. Shes half human half nightmare bought in chains to be bleed dry by him. But she bleeds him and now his blood and power runs through her veins. She runs she fights back. Hes consumed by her. She believes she is in conrol but he only lets her think that till he captures her. This is a story that you imagine you're in the middle of like a spell. A dark and twisted world. A world that drags you in and theres no escape. By far one of my favorite books by these two authors.

This is a dark, spellbinding tale of Maelrik's obsession with the halfling Lilith. He wants to find her secrets and take control of her power to increase his blood magic. Every action he takes makes him more obsessed with her. Every action he takes makes her powers grow. The question is who will gain the ultimate control, especially when other forces are working against both Maelrik and LIlith.

This isn't my favourite. I struggled to keep my attention on the book for the first half, probably even longer. I can't even put my finger on what the issue was for me. However, I did like seeing the other brothers.
