Fear, guilt, and jealousy all rear their ugly heads as Jules and West strive to figure out what they want now that they've emerged from the wreckage of the storm.
A year has passed since the night Jules Blacklin and West Rutledge were thrown together by a tornado.
Now college freshmen, they’ve worked hard to overcome the tragedies of their pasts to start anew.
As they embark on their future, there is one last obstacle standing in the way of them finding complete happiness: themselves.
Michele loves words. Funny words, inspiring words, dirty words, sad words. All the words. Use them wisely and kindly. Spin stories with them, mend fences with them, heal with them. Words are powerful. Words are forever.
Please do not read my review if you have yet to read the previous book. It may very well contain spoilers.
"I will always do whatever it takes to make sure you're happy, Jules. That's what it means to love someone." Her breath catches at his declaration, even as her mind screams for her to run before he breaks her heart again. ***
Starting college at Texas A&M was always a dream of Jules. But in the past year that dream merged with starting it with West by her side. Only now everything was shattered when West left her while still in a coma. Telling herself and any one that will listen...Jules is trying to make herself believe that she is over him; even to the point of hating him. But telling yourself and truly believing it are two different things. Will she be able to climb out of the ruins?
I hate writing a review for a last book of a series. It is the absolute worst for me to write. I just know I will give things away. So I am not going to go far into in to at all. I will say this book (this series) moved me. It was an addiction every time I finished one of them. I had to have more of the story…more of the characters. Waiting, though not long between books like some series, was unbearable. I longed to know what would happen and how they would work through their pain. Would they work through their pain?
This series has been a favorite of mine from the moment I started the very first book. I was always telling people to get the first book because I knew they would eagerly go after the next. I was enthralled with the plot, in love with its characters, and always finished each book with a smile on my face…even when life wasn’t going the way the characters intended. (I knew things would work themselves out; they had to!!) With each book I became more involved and more devoted on seeing it to the end. Yes, this series had me and I prayed it never let go. I feared the end and would gladly read more if the author allowed it. (Psst…stay tuned! This may become a reality.)
So there you have it…a review that is not really a review. Or is it? I don’t know. Just know I wholeheartedly recommend this book and all the ones before it. Miller is a fabulous author that I will always be impatiently waiting for her next book! 5 Glorious Stars.
*** It is the sweetest madness he has ever known. And he never wants to lose this feeling.
Now please! Read it and couldn't put it down. Thank goodness for Jules and West. Oof I was a little worried in the beginning chapters. However Jules has the strength in book 3 to break through and get what she wants. We need more A&M years with Jules and West!!
wow! Finally! if these two stayed apart for much longer I would've jumped in and banged their heads together! can I just say that I absolutely loved the Buffy references! as a semi adult at 33 I grew up with the Scooby gang, so I could relate and I loved it. this book is about how both Jules and West are pretty much at a point where they realise that things happen that they can't control and can't be blamed for, we also get to meet Dani and although Austin doesn't appear much in this I have a feeling there could be another book on the horizon?? Will be definitely adding these books to the read again and again shelf :)
Loved the final installment, All That Remains and don’t want to give any spoilers! I fell in love with the talents of Michele G. Miller. I've enjoyed many of her previous literary works. However, this series is above expectations and the proverbial bar has been raised. She has the talent to bring tears of joy, wrench your heart to the point tears puddle just under your eyes. One finds themselves strain to see the words without the blur because you can’t bring yourself to stop reading to reach for the tissues. In the next few minutes her readers will gasp and laugh out loud because the humor is so on target and breaks the emotional tension for her readers. The characters are written with the reader longing to “meet them” in real life, they almost seem like friends. In that, you cheer with their triumphs and your heart reaches for them in their sadness. This entire From “The Wreckage Series” will transport you into a book. Wow! If you only buy one series this year, I strongly recommend this one. I’m excited to still visit these established characters as I expect readers will be able to enjoy a “spin off series” with some of the secondary characters we've fallen in love with here. I’m just not ready to say goodbye to the characters in All That Remains.
Only a 4 because it wasn't proofed very well. Loved the story!!
When I finished the last book, I was so ticked because I thought it ended. This is such a great series. Characters as big as life and the story line is awesome. I really did love it and want more.
Now for sentences... This is the last book in the trilogy and I thought it was executed marvelously. I've been awaiting this book with anticipation and a lot of stress after that ending in Out Of Ruins (you know what you did Michele!! @_@). Poor West and Jules have been through so much physically and emotionally, they are both pretty wrecked by this point (you see what I did there? Wrecked?? ;-) lol). But that's life unfortunately, and it continues in this final installment. West and Jules are both in pretty bad places at the start of this book and as heartbreaking as it has been, I definitely enjoyed seeing them both work separately to overcome these seemingly insurmountable obstacles. They are both flawed and frustrating, but you can see them grow and really disciver who they are and who they want to be in this one. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say much more but I'll leave you with this- AUSTIN!?!♡ ;-)
Third book in this series Jules and West haven't seen each other in a year. Both college freshman but the way West left Jules with a letter delivered by his brother and no correspondence since then Jules has been trying to move on with her life without him. She has really struggled to get past the disastrous tornado that wrecked their town and many lives lost last year and then losing West. West had to get help so he could be stronger and figure himself out when he was forced to leave Jules, but he found his way back to football. Jules and West still have a lot to work thru but it is a wonderful conclusion, I can't believe I didn't realize it was out sooner. LOVED IT
I received this ARC book. I am giving my honest review.
I have waited for the final installment in this trilogy after loving the first 2 books so much. I was not prepared for just how fantastic this final installment of Jules and West's story would be.
Recovered from the wreckage of the tornado that devastated their town and took the lives of friends, we find Jules and West now recovering from their broken relationship.
I am glad that Michele Miller took her time and wrote a book that gives us a realistic story of love and relationships. I have enjoyed every book she has written.
This is the third and final book in this series and it did not disappoint. Book 2 left us all with so many unanswered questions and we finally get them! Thank goodness! We find Jules and West trying to get back to normal after not one but two very traumatic events that they both have carried guilt about. We know they both love each other but can they find their way and keep their love going?
So I bought the book this morning and just finished it. I got nothing done today. But I just could not stop reading. True love is hard to fight. And a parents love may sometime drive you crazy, but it's all for the best in the end.
Oh My gosh, so good!! I cant wait for the next set of books from this series. True to life drama and struggles for teens/young adults. I want to see more of West and Jules relationship. I would also like to see more about Dani.
Loved all the books in this series, and I am sad to see them end however they made me hold back tears and smile from ear to ear and made my heart race at times. Great series...I am glad I read them!!
What a heart-wrenching story. Pretty close to my home, this Texas tornado/small town story was pretty good. I felt that it (at times) lacked some reality and deeper understanding where it was needed, and that frustrated me!!! Also, the trauma and grief would have been crippling...yet they were obsessed with dating each other? Going to keep reading the series...I think the 2nd book will dive into the ptsd... Now I have read all books in this series (holiday weekend of reading!) and I have a little bit of a different perspective: 1. This author desperately needs a new editor! My only highlights were the multiple typos...not spelling...but grammar (egads!) and the wrong word altogether. Not ok. 2. This is a good story. Is it a little too sappy? Yes. Is it frustrating because there’s a lot of back and forth stupidity? Yes. Is it nice that it’s not perfect and love prevails? YES. 3. The ptsd never really happened other than her dreams in the first book. I’m sorry...if a tornado destroyed my town, killed my friends, and changed everything about my teen life while I barely escaped after being trapped for hours under a collapsed house...yeah, I might have more than bad dreams. 4. The author PURPOSEFULLY did not elaborate on a few things in the first book so she could write novellas. Ok.
I upped the rating to a 4 because I enjoyed the story, but could not get over the poor editing and lack of depth.

This was the conclusion I was waiting for! Book three of the From the Wreckage series was just what I needed to read after the rollercoaster of the first two books. Not to say that this wasn’t somewhat of a rollercoaster, too.
In this installment we are left to discover what in the heck has happened with West. The second book ended with a car accident, a missing hero, and a cliffhanger. This installment shows us what’s become of West, and what’s become of Jules without West. This one touched me deeper than the first two, mostly because it broke my heart before putting it back together. I was seriously up until 3:30AM trying to find some kind of decent stopping point so I could get a little bit of sleep before the morning madness, but each chapter ending left me needing “just one more” chapter to find something to soothe my heartache.
This third book finally healed my heart as it brought closure and a conclusion to my favorite main characters. I loved this series, and I am happy to know that the From the Wreckage universe continues on in several other interconnected stories. Great story, great characters, great author.
I didn’t love this book nearly as much as the previous one, but I did enjoy reading it. I felt the ending fell a bit short. It was a good story though. I felt like, after reading the second book, this trilogy could have become something almost epic. So I was a little disappointed when it just ended up being another basic love story. Albeit a sweet, beautiful love story….I was just hoping for something a little different.
The characters had some good development, the flow was nice, there were some sweet moments. It was just pretty….basic. I really wanted to love it after the last book!
One of my favourite couples ever, full of flaws and...wreckage but real. Although a love like this seems to be so difficult to find that most days I wonder if it exists only in the books. Read this story, I believe you will enjoy it too. I know I will be checking up in following books.
Oh My! All that Remains will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time and it will bring the tears. The obstacles fought and the outcomes are amazing. Even this one doesn’t bring the ending that most books do. It has a great ending but still leaves you wanting to read After the Fall to get more from West and Jules and to read Austin’s story(West’s Brother).
After reading the first two books, I couldn’t wait to check out book 3. It was just as good! I like that the characters screw up and have to work through problems. It’s realistic but I still get a nice ending. I like that it’s not too detailed in the bedroom type scenes, nice for a young adult book.
Wow wow wow!! This series has made me so happy. I laughed, I cried, I stayed up all night because I simply couldn’t stop reading! Jules and West story is one that I will read and re-read. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Beautiful story, perfectly written! Kudos to Michele G Miller. ❤️
At first I wanted to give this book 3 stars because it was just annoying me and then by the middle and end I end up loving it and I love how it ended I just wish we could know more
I very much enjoyed this series. Believable and like-able characters that you find yourself cheering on. Book 3 actually took up a large part of my weekend.
I kind of wished this had a Dear John type ending. Sometimes things don’t have to have a pretty red bow tied on top. Besides that I truly enjoyed the characters and the writing.
This is a wonderful story. You can really get to know each person and connect with their life's. Can't wait to read more and she how life gives then the chance to grow.
Things have changed a lot for Jules and West in the last year. They connected over tragedy and found comfort in the arms of each other. They were each other's strength. Rock. Anchor. They kept each other whole and just when things were looking up tragedy strikes again. This time it ruins everything. Now Jules and West struggle to find the happiness they know they both deserve.
It has definitely been a long road for Jules and West. These two characters have come full circle in a story that is riddled with loss, turmoil, tragedy, sorrow, happiness, love, and hope. When we first met West he was a little lost, but with the tragedy of the tornado he began to hope again. He was a hero and a true knight in shining armor. It has been a long time since I have enjoyed reading a character as much as I have enjoyed getting to know West. He definitely makes my list of top characters of the year. And it's not just because he is dreamy. Because he is. It's more than that. West is a gentle and kind soul. He sees more than what's on the surface. He may play the part of the loner, but he is always watching and observing. He is just waiting for his time to shine. We get glimpses of this when he is with his family and Jules. The West that we know he truly is. The West we want him to be.
Then there is Jules. She starts this journey with everything. She is the most popular girl in school, head cheerleader, is dating the star quarterback, and has a good life. In one night her life is turned upside down. We see her become this fearful down to earth girl who begins to see that there is more to life than boys, cheer, and being popular. We get a very up close look at her as she grieves and struggles with her guilt. She grows leaps and bounds in this series and is a character that I have connected with.
At the end of Out of Ruins Michele G Miller left my heart on the floor torn and beaten. I wanted All That Remains to make the pain go away. I wanted to see this couple dance in the sun, smile, laugh, and just get to love. I wanted them to have true happiness. But I knew that it wouldn't be easy. Not with the ending on book 2. I knew there would be struggle and pain. And I had a lot of apprehension about reading All That Remains, I knew it was going to be a rocky start and yet I wasn't prepared when Michele G Miller ripped my heart out in the first few pages.
I have liked West since the first time he graced the pages of From the Wreckage. I knew he was a deep thinker. I wanted nothing more than to get inside his head, but I wasn't prepared for that dose of reality. His thoughts, his hurt, pain, and guilt completely broke me. Left me a puddle on the floor. It was so real, true.
Then my heart break turned to anger. And one point I was so mad at Michele G Miller and Jules I didn't even want to finish the book. I seriously had to put the book down for a bit and convince myself that it could still work. Love takes time right? Right. But that didn't mean I had to be happy about what was happening between the pages. And it certainly didn't keep me from muttering not nice things under my breath. I never thought I could dislike or hate Jules, but in those moments I did. I really did. After everything that had happened I couldn't believe she would do the things she was doing. To mess with someone's heart like that. It left me hurt and angry.
But I am a hopeless romantic, so I held a small glimmer of hope in my heart. It was that glimmer that pushed me to finish the story. And I don't regret one single minute of it. I don't regret that heart break at all.
Since the beginning, this story has been full of beauty, pain, hurt, hope, and love. One that leaves me breathless and with a full heart. All That Remains was such a beautiful ending to an exquisite story. This is one trilogy I will be reading again. West and Jules have cemented their spot on my list of the best book couples. In my book they are right up there with Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. So make sure you grab this series and settle in with a box of tissue, a good blanket, and a shoulder to cry on. But do read it. Experience it. Live it.
