This is a pretty random audio play - but it’s short, fun and entertaining. With Kelly Rippa, Mark Consuelos, and a full cast doing narration of this audio play and paying homage to their beginnings in the soap opera world, I had to give it a try. Such a fun concept! And well executed. It’s kind of cheesy - but that’s a great nod to cheesy soap operas, too. The story has a young author’s (Lucy) screenplay optioned by a top Hollywood producer (Gordon,) only to have him steal it and say it was written by his son. A former top Hollywood actress (Carolyn,) with her own vendetta against Gordon for a terrible incident in the past, gets Lucy to partner with her as they use the court of public opinion by way of the daytime soap opera Summer Breeze to expose Gordon’s wrongful ways. There are friendship, family, romance and work relationships in the mix with a lot going on. But it all works together, solving a mystery and fighting sone wrongs. It’s nothing fabulous, but it’s fun. An easy ‘summer breeze’ short audio for entertainment.
Summer Breeze by Aaron Tracy was such a fun, fast-paced listen! It follows two strong, determined women who team up to take down a corrupt and powerful Hollywood producer, and I was hooked from the start. The plot moves quickly, with just the right balance of drama, suspense, and witty dialogue that kept me engaged the whole way through. What really made it stand out was the production quality—since it’s an Audible Original, it had immersive sound effects and background music that made it feel like a movie playing in my ears. It’s the kind of audio novella you can finish in one sitting, perfect for a walk, road trip, or just relaxing in the sun. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something entertaining and empowering without being too heavy!
I liked it! The audio is full cast and very well done. A young screenwriter wanna be finishes a script she has worked on for 3 yrs based on her grandma's life. The script is stolen by a director and made into a movie giving all the writing credit to his son (who can't write).
A former actress and the young writer with the help of a few others are a determined team trying to take down the corrupt and powerful Hollywood producer, using a popular soap opera Summer Breeze to air his dirty laundry.
Great short audio with full plot, twists and turn and great ending.
The cast was good but the sound quality, especially when they were on the phone or trying to whisper was bad. The plot is ridiculous. It was surprisingly slow for such a short production. . Lots of big name voices but not enough time on writing/rewriting (ironic given theme).
I enjoyed this theatrical audiobook. It’s a mostly clean listen (one or two swearing words, and no sex). The voice actors all performed well, and it was a fun little story to listen to while doing chores.
Super fun story & ensemble cast doing great dramatization! Kelly & Mark bringing their own spin on things with a history in daytime soaps & the industry. the story was interesting, twisty, and a great summer escape!
The author tells a fun and widening story of a Mad Movie Mogul. There is romance, mystery, humor, murder, and more. The voice actors and sound effects are excellent also.
Audio. This quick read/listen was enjoyable! Action packed, no bad language, intrigue, mystery, murder, oh my! Recognizing the voices was fun but didn’t take away from the story.
A fun and meta love letter to soap operas, brought to life by a star-studded cast. It’s a quick, breezy listen and honestly, more fun than I expected it to be.
