Shadows in the Salvage

Blood is thicker than water. Alan’s thicker than both.

Hand on heart, swear to the gods – the crew of the Silver Hart are totally legit now. There’s way more money in running a reputable salvage company than in space-piracy, and it comes with only a fraction of the risk. It’s hard to miss crawling through dusty tombs when you’re up to your eyeballs in credits and rum punch.

But when a routine callout to a derelict shuttle reveals a female Alan cowering in its cruddy cargo hold, and they trace the vehicle back to an unscrupulous somnium trader named Vickers – a cutthroat who’ll do whatever it takes to profit from any secrets the Alans might be hiding – Sheni and the crew soon find themselves forced into old habits to survive.

Alan might be the densest element in the universe, but he’s family – and nobody messes with the Green Meanie. Perhaps Vickers should have picked on someone his own size…

Fans of Terry Pratchett and Becky Chambers will love this page-turning adventure from the author of the bestselling Final Dawn series. Expect explosive action and sharp-tongued anti-heroes in a Sci-Fi universe rich with imagination.

Alan, my Alan!

So now rich beyond belief does not change a creature? Read this brilliant tale to find out if it is still all coconuts and lounging or if the crew intend to earn an honest crust.

I am in love with Alan, he is my people. Gecki is my warrior and Xotl and Sheni are my friends. I want to live with them somewhere tranquil but Alan would be off breaking then fixing things and Gecki will want to dismember something. Xotl will be clingfilm wrapped and paranoid for germs... Sheni? Well Sheni would be relaxing with one eye open.

I am so sad this tale of epic creatures will eventually come to an end.

It is a marvellous series.

“And you, Mr. Liability,” Gecki snarled, spraying spittle everywhere, “have a lot of freakin’ explaining to do! Get your tiny green arse down here right this instant!”

Sheni and the crew are legit! who would have thought it. But as always everything they do comes with adventure and it's fair share of problems.

This is the best one so far, laugh out loud funny. Absolutely brilliant story. We get a lot more background for Alan which I've personally been waiting for.

“No wonder Alan is always tinkering with things. You know, perhaps the Alans aren’t as gormless as we thought. Maybe if we were to look at intelligence from their perspective rather than our own, we’d all be a little smarter.” One of the Alans slipped off the roof of a stone hut and face-planted the earth. Sheni shrugged. “Or maybe they’re just a bunch of idiots,” he sighed.

Obviously we all love Alan so to have an Alan-centric story is great. Another cracking space adventure.

**Mini Spoilers**
I just knew they were going to fix the ship and I didn't mind that it was obviously going to happen because after reading so many stories with this crew, they're part of your fictional family and you're just happy to be along for another ride.

And then at the end, when the pirates come to the rescue. It just makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. Whether you have a soft spot for space pirates or not.

In the fifth instalment Sheni and crew have gone legit and now operate a salvage company when they come across a ship with another Alan in!
These books are so entertaining, I love the scrapes they get into and also how they get out of them and this one is just as good as the previous ones.
Looking forward to the next one. 5 stars

Thoroughly enjoyed this book much better than the previous one. Love the antics of Alan and nice to see the salvage crew still getting into trouble.
