This is not the easiest series for me to review. I really love the premise of the story, and really wanted to like it (and some parts I did really like), but overall it just fell flat. The first two books were extremely slow and left me completely uninterested until the last couple chapters. The third book held my attention throughout. The characters were completely one-dimensional and predicable, which got very annoying. The main character is particularly frustrating with her continuously same choices, actions and misgivings. I felt I was in the same scenarios with the same outcomes with different drama surrounding it. The series continues on (I think there's two more books?), but I don't think I can bring myself to go through the same situations over again. I'm so disappointed; I really want to like this more than I do.
I loved this! The story was the perfect mix of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. I felt that the characters had the right amount of reaction to their situations, without being too dramatic. It's important to me for the characters to be relatable and I found that I could easily put myself in the shoes of the MC, and even the side characters. another thing that is important to me is that an author is descriptive. Not only in the characters themselves, but in the setting. Not once did I get confused or unable to picture where the characters were and what was happening. Because this was the first thing I have read by this author I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with how much I love this series. I at anxious to start the next book!
I love these books. The characters are believable and relatable. The storyline is exciting. Your emotions get yanked all over the place. I hope these books never stop coming!!
It is quite a journey with lots of twists and turns and tough decisions for the characters. Just when you think you know where it is headed, you get another surprise. I really enjoyed the story and couldn't put it down once I got started. I wanted to know it was going to end. I am glad the author didn't give a simple ending that tied everything neatly up. Life is messy and love makes it even more complicated.
I went through every emotion imaginable reading these books! I fell in love with the characters immediately. Julia and Nathaniel....The ups and downs, Julia's out of control power and other super Naturals trying to kill her. These books are amazing! It's definitely a must-read series. I'm off to read Book 4!
I had high hopes for this series. Unfortunately the writing and dialogue leaves much to be desired in the WOW department. The writing and storyline were middle line at best, and I would have given this 3 stars, but the dialogue was stiff, and painful to read. The story at times seemed to weave a bit in ways that made no sense.
Very, very slow. Like, first she got up, then she walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth. She picked up her toothbrush with the pink handle and the blue stripes that she bought at Walmart last week......... etc. OK, maybe that was a slight exaggeration, but I do mean slight.
Really wish Book 2 had been edited. Book 1 was fairly good but the characters kept getting on my nerves. Not interested in a vampire who says things whiny like "whatever," especially when he is the leading man. Abandoning it for now and not sure I will be finishing this series.
Very original. Creative Compelling Couldn't put it down. Not predictable at all. Wish there were more. Very clever twists . Will look for more by this author
This book had more twist and turns. And it just jumped around a little to much. Didn't enjoy it. I kept hoping it would get better acai read it. But it just didn't happen.
