Once again Larissa Hommes gives us a story full of flirtation, kisses and heart-felt connection. Zeke and Piper were adorable from the start. I ached along with them when they were vulnerable and got happy tingles when they were so sweet. I love the balance between chemistry both physical and emotional. This book will definitely give you all the feels! 🥰

Zeke and Piper bonded over their separate past trauma and making Piper’s ex jealous. It was fine, but there wasn’t much else to it and I wanted a bit more from their connection.

This was a really cute, quick read. Piper is the physical therapist for the Minnesota Wolves' hockey team. Zeke is one of their players. He's the oldest on the team and, therefore, has to receive extra PT sessions per the coach's orders. Piper is wary of dating another hockey player after being cheated on by her ex. But when that ex keeps coming back around, Zeke is there to step in as Piper's "boyfriend."
Zeke and Piper were both wary of love due to past life experience, so it was really sweet to see them realize how much better their lives were when they let themselves love each other.

This was just so fun! I love a hockey romance and after reading Larissa’s novella I was so excited for Zeke’s story! I loved the pacing of the story and the romance felt so sweet and tender. I also think Larissa is so good at simple moments between characters and it makes me want to romanticize the small moments <3 I think because the mmc didn’t have a family really growing up, something as simple as cooking dinner with your loved ones was so abnormal and it was so special to see him have those moments!! loved this and hope there’s more to come in this series 🤭

I thoroughly enjoyed watching dear characters even amid uncertainty be able to find belonging, effortless connection, and hope. Most of all, I loved watching how broken souls can heal and characters discovering that real love, is absolutely worth the gamble through it all and to hold on to it!🙌🏻📚🩷

I love discovering new authors who I not only enjoy reading their stories, but their characters are easy to relate to and connect to almost instantly. It speaks volumes when an author can make fictional characters come to life and feel as though they are real people. This is exactly what Larissa Hommes did in Breakaway to You. I was instantly captivated by our two MCs, their struggles, and their journey to each other. Both MCs had put up walls to guard their hearts, but those walls were also knocked down so quickly by one another. I wholeheartedly loved this book!
Piper and Zeke were not looking for love, but can’t deny the chemistry that is felt between the two of them from their initial meeting. Their past trauma and having their hearts broken, understandably caused them to guard their hearts, but I was so happy to see neither one of them completely shut off to the idea of love. They just needed to find the right person to open up for. Larissa is able to bring the heat and sizzle without the open door spice, but this book still delivers all the feels and emotions a good romance should.
Through exploring real and raw emotions that our MCs both have journeyed through and bringing those same emotions into their sweet romance, Larissa wrote a story that immerses you in wholesome characters, who you want nothing but the best for. She reminded readers that romance doesn’t always have to be this big, grand gesture; but rather the quiet moments bring just as much romance. Sometimes it’s the quiet moments that hold the most passion of all.

This hockey romcom follows Zeke Lawson with his newest trade assignment to the Minnesota Wolves! While this meant he was “coming home,” there was going to have to be an adjustment period, starting with his physical assessment done by the head of PT, Piper! Piper was everything Zeke didn’t expect, good looking but immune to his charms. He couldn’t help himself but flirt with her, no strings attached. Relationships and connections were hard to come by for him and yet this woman made his head turn.
Piper while being initially attracted to Zeke, brushed off all potential feels and flirting as she was all about her job! Zeke would prove to be a distraction that she didn’t want or need! Having been burned in the past with another hockey player on a different team, she wasn’t about to repeat the same mistake… famous last words. Despite being all about her work and compartmentalizing her former crush feelings for him, Piper was drawn to Zeke when she saw him alone at a hotel bar while at an away game. The two shared some raw and vulnerable conversation that was stronger than the club soda they ended up drinking. While their connection blooms, she’s actively fending off advances from her ex.
While a relationship between staff and athlete is forbidden, the undeniable connection keeps them drawn together! I do love that they tried to fight it, but fate would play a much bigger part in it! They needed each other as neither one of them often let others in. The few that they had let in, we got to see those. Her sister, Quinn, who I think should get her own book and his former teammate, Crew, who is featured in the free novella! These two show unfailing and unwavering support for our protagonists. There is a moment of raw and honest reflection that goes on in this book, it was perhaps my favorite part! It moved me to tears! I think we all crave to have people in our corner, who can show us love, compassion and honesty, this was beautifully portrayed! Another book is coming in this series sometime in the coming months and to be honest… it’s going to be extremely hard to have patience for it! Job well done on digging beneath the surface Larissa!

While Breakaway to You is technically the first book in the Blindsided By Love series, there is a novella that takes place before this one. The couple from that book does make an appearance, but this can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone.
Oh my goodness, this was such a cute read! Zeke and Piper were impossible not to enjoy right from the start. At first, Zeke comes off as a little bit cocky (adorably so), but as we get to know both of these characters, we see that perhaps that's not entirely true... but I did so love the moments of banter between these two... every bit as much as those more vulnerable moments when he let his walls down. The chemistry was flying off the pages and the emotional connection between these two was even better... despite neither looking for a relationship. I just couldn't help but love these two and root for them to get their happily ever after. If you love hockey and/or workplace romance (they both work for the same team-him as a player, her as a physical therapist), this is absolutely one to add to your TBR.

I’m not sure what Larissa put in this book but I devoured it in one sitting! I always read her books fast because they read like a movie in my head. First off, I’ll need WAY more hockey romances from Larissa in the near future!!! Zeke and Piper are perfection! There is just something so sweet about a man who doesn’t date and isn’t looking for love until the moment he sees “the one” and all that is out the window 🥹 I’ve been wanting to read a good athlete/physical therapist book and this book was exactly that. Piper is so guarded and swears she wouldn’t date another hockey player then in walks Zeke 🔥 Their interactions and amazing chemistry is so fun to read. I tabbed up my ARC copy and was giggling and kicking my feet the entire time. My husband said “WOW, you used so many tabs” 🤣 When the book ended I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to these characters 😭 that’s when you know the book is good.

Breakaway To You is a heartwarming, swoon-worthy, endearing, charming, lovable, romantic, and delightful read! This has been one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it did not disappoint! I love everything this author writes and am so thankful I get to be on the launch team for this just released beauty! The characters are so relatable and both have a lot of growth in the vulnerability department throughout the book. It was so sweet to see. Their fun personalities, adorable banter, and undeniable connection made them characters I instantly fell in love with. This romance has a lot of fun moments with building tension yet is a closed door romance.
I am not very familiar with hockey, but this hockey romance made me love the sport. Zeke's passion for the sport is contagious! He is very determined, so passionate, and has such a heartthrob vibe! Piper is so dedicated to her job and after her heartbreak caused by a her hockey player ex boyfriend, I admire her resolve to keep work and personal life separate. Life has other plans but.....the butting heads and resistance to love is so cute!! This book is truly phenomenal! I'm so obsessed and absolutely recommend this book!

I stayed up way too late finishing this book but it was just too good! I absolutely loved Piper and Zeke. Their flirty banter was so swoony and fun and I ate it up. I loved the friendship that these two formed. They were instantly attracted to each other but I loved watching them open up to one another and be vulnerable with each other. I enjoyed that both of these had some similar pasts and reasons for not wanting to pursue a committed relationship. And I felt like the third act breakup was extremely valid. But I thought these two were so fun and I loved every bit of them together. Larissa always writes such real, down to Earth characters and Piper and Zeke are no exception.
I loved the camaraderie of the team, even though Zeke tried to keep himself apart from them but I enjoyed the glimpses we got of Holden and Ryder (please tell me we’re getting their stories!?) I also loved Piper’s relationship with her sister and was so happy to get a glimpse of Crew and Addie.
If you love hockey romance then definitely pick this one up. It releases today!

I loved the camaraderie of the team, even though Zeke tried to keep himself apart from them but I enjoyed the glimpses we got of Holden and Ryder (please tell me we’re getting their stories!?) I also loved Piper’s relationship with her sister and was so happy to get a glimpse of Crew and Addie.
If you love hockey romance then definitely pick this one up. It releases today!

Zee and Piper's journey is one that had me invested from the beginning. They have a meet ugly rather than a meet cute because she tells him the truth about his physical condition during his first PT session. He doesn't take it well, and Piper did it with that intent. Both are coming from histories of abandonment and are anti-relationship, but they start over and become friends.
When Piper's ex won't leave her alone, they engage in a fake relationship that is against the rules. When management finds out, the situation comes to a head.
I loved Zeke as an MMC. He is well written with a lot of depth, and his emotional growth as the story progresses is what kept me engaged in the story. I didn't like Piper as much, though. Her character growth wasn't as clear. I didn't see her as invested in the relationship as Zeke (he gave up more for her than she did for him at nearly every turn).

This was an adorable closed door, hockey romance story. The FMC Piper, had such a cool job being a physical therapist for a popular hockey team. After dealing with a bad heartbreak with a previous hockey player, she vowed to never get involved with another one again. She ended up switching jobs and working with a different hockey team closer to home. She meets Zeke Lawson, a hockey player she has been watching for a long time. They hit it off fairly quickly. Zeke was still scarred from his previous girlfriend and promised himself to never commit again. Watching Zeke and Piper slowly get to know one another was so adorable. They were so sweet together and it was nice to see Zeke opening up to Piper so easily. I really enjoyed this cute sports romance story. It’s been a while since I read one!

Zeke and Piper were the perfect love story!
I loved everything about this story. The fact that both of these main characters have been burned by love in the past, the fake dating, their banter, their happily ever and, of course, the HOCKEY!!!!
I was intrigued by Zeke in Another Shot at Love, so I was very excited to read his story. Seeing the lifelong hockey player who has been forced to go through life on his own find love, ugh, it was *chef's kiss* perfection!
And Piper was the perfect match for him! I loved her grit, determination and the big heart that she tries to keep hidden from everyone. She was the perfect challenge for Zeke and I loved how she saw the real Zeke under the charming hockey player.
Overall, this sweet hockey romance was everything I needed in a romance! If it is not already on your TBR, you definitely should add it!

This was a slow start but found that it was a really enjoyable story after the 4th or 5th chapter, once the characters settled into full sentences and their actions made sense in the larger context of the story. It was worth pushing on through the first bit because after that, the characters were true to life - witty, confused, bantering, shying away, hiding true feelings, blurting out what they really thought before their mind could check the tongue, etc. They felt real and I found myself reading straight through it to the end. The story had plenty of joy in it and I found myself smiling at the characters often - their words and actions so relatable. Definitely one worth the time. Give it a real chance.

This was such a great book! I really loved Zeke and Piper’s story. I think because it was more than just about their relationship. The author really delved into a backstory for each of them. One that was filled with tragedy, heartbreak, abandonment; but also the choices they made to cope with their past. And not just one MC, but both of them. This book gave me all the feels, and while a lot of the story had some deep emotions, there was also lighthearted fun times that balanced it very well.

I started this book just reading the first chapter and was hooked. And then I had a couple other books I wanted to finish up before I dove in and I pretty much finished this book in a day! It was really good!!! I loved Zeke’s personality! He was such a flirt but serious at the same time and was such a green flag in more serious moments with how he handled certain situations! Piper was fiery and I loved the dialogue between the two of them!!
I’d recommend if you love hockey romcoms and especially a kisses only! (There’s a lot of kisses 😌)

Larissa does it again!! Taking the hockey romance genre by storm! I LOVED this book! Zeke and Piper’s relationship was so sweet and fun. I loved their banter and how they both grew so comfortable with each other that they were able to open themselves up. They both had things in their past that made them “anti-relationship” and I loved getting to see them grow together. Larissa’s writing is just fantastic and will hook you from page one. This story was no different. I think one of my favorite scenes was the bus scene 😍 They were just so dang cute together, and their chemistry was amazing.

Such a good romance, this is the first book I have read by this author. I will definitely read more !!!! I like how Piper and Zeke’s relationship formed, and I definitely like how slow they went ! But honestly I think my favorite part is where Zeke told her he was giving up hockey for her. Hockey was his life !!! That showed how true and serious he was about Piper !!!!! I would definitely recommend this book !!! This was an ARC !!!

Wow! This is such a great story; I didn’t want to put the book down and stayed up way too late reading. I loved the connection between Zeke and Piper. They try to fight their attraction, he is a little cocky, but sweet. I loved their witty conversations, and the way they handled some situations that they came up against. I loved so much about this story; it is one that I highly recommend and hope you will love it as much as me. Has everything I want in a sweet romance!

Once again Larissa Hommes gives us a story full of flirtation, kisses and heart-felt connection. Zeke and Piper were adorable from the start. I ached along with them when they were vulnerable and got happy tingles when they were so sweet. I love the balance between chemistry both physical and emotional. This book will definitely give you all the feels! 🥰

Two broken souls who didn't believe in love. The past has left them both feeling the pain of love instead of joy. Friends first, opening up to each other, expressing feelings of why they are against love. Coming closer together but then having the rug pulled out from under them. Why does love have to hurt so bad?

A cute and delightful read. It will captivate you from start to finish. I loved the characters, the flirty banter and undeniable flying sparks. I enjoyed reading their journey as they overcome their insecurities and help each other heal. It’s a fun, entertaining and emotional read. Definitely a must read!

This was such an amazing read! I Loved Pyper and Zeke! These two were both damaged in their own ways and relationship opposed due to their pasts! Little did they know that their initial dislike just may turn into to what they both need and want most. They were sweet, funny, emotional, and just fun to read!

This was a story that went beyond what the characters were on the outside. This was a love story between Piper and Zeke. We got to see why they were the way they were. This story had flirtations and emotions. We got to experience the connection between them.

Loved this one so much! While I normally despise third-act breakups, I loved this one! It was absolutely necessary and oh so perfect for their story! I loved Zeke & Piper and their journey to finding love after both having not so great experiences. And I’d really like to ship Quinn & Holden together🤞🏻

I thoroughly enjoyed Piper and Zeke story. Zeke is a hockey player and reaching the time where he can’t imagine life without it. Piper is a team therapist and doesn’t want to get involved with the hockey players. It’s a sweet story of flirting, finding something to hold onto and how to make it work. Was a feel good book for me and loved it.
