I think I preferred the first book. Hannah Mercy an FBI agent and her partner Derek, also a Fed, are back on the case. This time it's people who haven't sold their farmsteads to a corporate who are joining farmlands together to make huge money, except those who refuse are being murdered in macabre fashions and redressed in clothes from the 1890s era. The story was sound, I really liked the bloke Erryl Langdon who owns a treasure emporium and is able to date the clothes the victims were forced into after death and also helped out with what implement could have killed them. For a second there I thought he might have been the murderer but he really was too nice! And secondly he knew an awful lot about the sort of implement was being used to massacre each victim brutally. However he came onboard to help them with his expert knowledge, young though he might have been, and am kind of hoping that he pops up in other books in this series, he added both a touch of lightness, a lot of knowledge and he was cute into the bargain!!

Anyway with his help they narrowed down the list of suspects before any more farm holders who hadn't held out from the pressure from the corporate attempting to get them out from their homes, and well I liked him! I still preferred the first book, in this one we learn more about Hannah's dad who has parkinson's disease and more about Hannah's former life. We know next to nothing about her partner Derek though.

Another good mystery by the author. The book is about FBI AGENTS HANNAH & DEREK from LINCOLN NEBRASKA FBI OFFICE who solve a serial killer case.
It was a very interesting concept and point it seem to stray and became a bit wordy.
The serial killer's motivation seemed too whacky, but the book was a page turner.
The big farming company who had bought up a lot of the small independent farmer's land in Lincoln seemed at first to be connected to the killings and the serial killer is exposed in the last 25 pages of the book. The tension and chase made this a page turner.

A quick good read!

FBI agent Hannah Mercy is obsessed with her mother’s death but she also has current crimes she needs to investigate and solve and the farm land murders are the current ones.

A good 2nd installment

Like the 1st book, it took a while to get all the backstory, then the finale was over rather quickly. I good, easy read and I lookforward to seeing what happens next with Hannah

I enjoyed this second book in the series. Would I read it again? Probably not. Will I read the next one? Probably yes, if given the opportunity. Easy reading. And though many of the reviewers stated that they were totally surprised at who the murderer was, I was not.
