I don’t understand. The Demodogs died when El closed the Gate. If the brain dies, the body dies — I know. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope I’m wrong — But we can’t take any chances. We have to assume the worst. The Mind Flayer is back. And if he is, he would want to attach himself to someone again. A new “me” — A new “Host.”
It’s 1985 and love is in the air in Hawkins. Mike and Eleven are smooch-crazy, much to Hopper’s disgust. Dustin is back from summer camp with a girlfriend he keeps in touch with by radio transmissions. The towns’ moms are in love with shirtless lifeguard Billy; Nancy and Jonathan are a couple; and there’s romantic tension brewing between Hopper and Joyce. Meanwhile, Steve is working with a cool new friend, Robin, at an ice cream parlor in the town’s shiny new mall. Rats are mysteriously exploding around town. The Mind Flayer is possessing people, and the Russians are trying to open a new gate to the Upside Down.
Collected here for the first time, the complete scripts of Stranger Season Three include the scenes, dialogue, and character directions for all eight episodes as well as an exclusive introduction from the creators and showrunners, Matt and Ross Duffer. Season Three’s scripts reveal a unique insight into how the Duffers continued to build the core good-vs-evil story that captivated viewers and popular culture while adding more depth with fun new characters and intensifying relationships.
Would you rather have "This was his childhood." or "But it's not anger at Mike. It's anger at himself."
Duffers, did you kiss the brick before throwing it..?
I just received my script today, and I'm already so intrigued. The Duffers approached an 80's cult teen film vibe but twisted it to make it more modern. Season 3 is definitely not all sunshine and rainbows, despite it being recognized for being the "fun nostalgia" season. I would argue that it's plain to see that it's the season of conformity. Yes, it's funny, and yes, it's visually appealing; however, it remains the least authentic season to me.
Anyways...! Nothing's better than spending Christmas break pouring over the scripts while waiting for Volume 2.
Woahhh, so Will's feelings towards Mike were supposed to be really obvious in season 3... I wish they hadn't made it more vague in the show, I remember being called insane for even suggesting that he's gay lol
