I was hired to protect her. No feelings. No attachments. No mistakes.
But the first time I laid eyes on Samira Abitbol—defiant, vulnerable, breathtaking—I knew I was already doomed.
She wasn’t just a client. She became a weakness I couldn't afford. A temptation I couldn’t resist.
When danger stalks her steps and betrayal cuts deeper than blood, the line between duty and desire shatters. Protecting her isn't enough anymore. I'll burn this world to ash before I let anyone touch what's mine.
STARS 4 stars SPICE medium (2-3 explicit scenes) CHEMISTRY very good ANGST medium SLOW BURN no CLIFFHANGER no
FAVORITE QUOTE/QUOTES "You don't get to decide what you are worth." - Jude "As long as I am here, Samira, no ones getting to you. You have my word." - Jude "Oh princess, you don't want me to lose control." Jude "I will always be there. No matter how many lifetimes you try to deny it, it will always be there." - Jude
A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOK/HOW DID IT MAKE ME FEEL I love all books that have a protective lead in them. I am obsessed with these kinds of books. Plus having the protective one be a woman. That is extra fantastic
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE CHARACTERS I love that Samira is not a weak character. She is sass and full of confidence. But so is Jude. She is also extremely sure of herself and her skills. The other interesting crack in Samira is she really is insecure and unsure. Born into a family of power but not really feeling her own power.
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE BOOK I loved the chemistry. I loved all the danger moments.
MY FAVORITE PART- IF IT IS NOT TOO SPOILERY The end one they face off with the "big bad" situation in the story.
WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE I truly loved all of the story but there were some writing errors which never bother me. But others might have an issue.
TROPES Touch her and ..., bodyguard, sapphic, close proximity
Really enjoyed this book! Definitely not what I’m used to but it’s still good. Dual POV and both main characters are women which I loved!
Jude is hired to protect Samira by her father and they end up falling for each other. Samira decided to pay Jude triple what her father was going to, to keep Jude by her side until she dies.
Slow burn with hot steamy moments only one sided from the FMC's. Would have loved for her to get her Mom back safely. Make her dad pay and the ones who took her Mom. Traumatic but a 5 🌟 anyway.
Lots of typos. Story was so short it included 0 details about why she even needed a body guard. We kept getting references to a mother who disappeared nothing came of that. The spicy scenes were forced like they’d be mid fight and Jude would just start grabbing at her…also it’s listed in the title as age gap but again 0 mention of how old these characters are. The one time age is even mentioned it’s about a man being older than Samira’s dad.
The concept of the story is good, I don’t love the writing style. There’s not enough detail. It kinda feels like a story you could’ve read on wattpad in middle school.
