I reviewed this through Audiobook Boom in exchange for a fair review.
The reader; J. Scott Bennett, does a decent job. I didn't find him distracting, but I wasn't crazy about his voices for women.
Author isn't my cuppa...

Sammi and Mitch
For pity's sake. I can't finish this one. DNF @ 20%
Sammi is the 3rd of the trio of friends from Walhalla South Dakota. She is tall, wears pants and carries a gun. I liked her at first. Mitch is the deputy in town and after tragedy strikes, becomes the sheriff just before Sammi rides into town in response to Mitch's ad for a bride. At first they seem suited but then Sammi allows people to think she is the new deputy. She is hoping Mitch will actually offer her the position. So she thinks that masquerading as an officer of the law will sway him?? Really? Oh yeah, and then she sucker punches him because he gets mad at her... I'm sure that'll make a great impression! Hitting a cop. Sheesh. I just can't bring myself to listen to the author preach to me (the reader) through the characters about how this is all Mitch's fault.
Let's say Sammi is a guy and does these things. Does the author really think Mitch wouldn't throw the perp into the cage with the other drunken lout? WTH???

So good. I loved Sammi and Mitch. Both characters were strong and had a ton of integrity. Nothing could beat them when they put their mind to it.

Sammi was lonely after her 2 best friends moved to Montana to marry the husbands that they met through a mail order bride column. With nothing holding her in North Dakota Sammi decides to answer an ad herself. After all the worst that could happen is she gets to see her friends again and it doesn't work out with the guy. Sammi is perfectly capable of caring for herself. She wears pants when women just did not during that time. She knew how to shoot a gun better than most men and was always on the lookout for anything that could hurt her.

Sheriff Mitch Taylor would love to find a wife but he needs someone independent and strong. After all it is not easy to be a sheriff's wife. Seeing how well it worked out for his friends he decides to put an ad out for a wife. When Sammi responded it seemed like the perfect fit.

I loved when Sammi made the trek to Montana to meet Mitch. You could tell he was immediately smitten and loved her spirit. The couple had to find a way to adjust to one another but it was a really fun adventure watching them work it out.

This was one of the books in the series that I didn't really love. I usually love the characters and story but Sammi and Mitch were both annoying at times. I really didn't like how Sammi had to be the one to apologize in the end. It really drove me nuts. Hoping the next one is better.

A Cowboy Romance..

The story had a decent pace and was interesting, however, I was a bit surprised by

some of the questionable language.

Sammi, the female lead, is a little lonely since her friends have left home to become

mail order brides.

So, when she tells one of her friends, she is informed that there is a certain law,

Deputy Mitch, is in need of a wife.

Sammi decides that Mitch is a catch, so she decides to visit Montana, events quickly

pick up from there with a few surprises , twists, and turns.

Overall, I enjoyed this book as well as the previous books in this series.

J. Scott Bennett did well with the narration.

Sammie is a different kind of women she truly stands alone, strong, demanding, she is out to prove she is as good as any man. When Deputy Taylor posts the ad for a woman whose strong, independent women Sammie jumps right in. Once she hits town she shakes it up long with Deputy Taylor. This was a very exciting, thrilling and adventures read that grabs your attention giving the read lots of smiles, laughs and a few drop jaw moments. I totally loved it. Very well written and thrilling I couldn’t put it down.

The narrator does a wonderful job delivering true emotions to the story, you always know who is talking and just what that are feeling. There are no repeating of words, no background noise just a truly enjoyable listen that pulls you in. His normal voice is very pleasant as well as his character voices, his voice is easy to listen to and gave me many hours of enjoyment. He made me feel the pain and sorrow each character is going through as well as the excitement and danger that comes with this story. With his narration he made me understand why some people act the way they do and that not everything is as it seems. For me he bought this story to life making it easy to picture each scene as it was happening. His performance was top of the line pulling me in giving me a listen I couldn’t put down. If you haven’t listened to any of his audios you don’t know what you are missing.

Mail Order Bride - Westward Justice: Historical Cowboy Romance (Montana Mail Order Brides Book 6)

I quickly immersed myself in the story enjoying the entire book and storyline. I loved that a woman such as Sammi was included in the story line, what a great role model for young gals even today in our times, learn to take care of yourselves and don't be bullied or attacked by anyone pay attention and get yourself trained for protection. The love and admiration of all towards each other is so refreshing even when bad things happen the community and family stand together and help each other. Loved it and recommend reading it today.

This is one of the better ones of the other books in the series. (I've read Books 1-6) I like that Sammi plays a more active role than some of the women in the previous books. I like these books, but one thing that I don't like is how it always seems that the men are doing everything while the women are passive. The books seem to be more about the men than the women. Claire didn't show up at all in this book, but the Samuels brothers always show up and have a big role. Also, there were lots of typos and missing words throughout the text. It was very distracting. I'm glad it was only 99 cents.

Taking Justice In Her Own Hands

This book is about the Sherriff of Dawson. Mitch went from deputy to sheriff. While still a deputy he had Marcus put an add in the paper for a mail order bride. By the time Sammi made it there he was Sherriff. When the other one died of a heart attack. He hit it off with Sammi right off. She is not like other women. She is not a dress type girl. She is a pants and shirt cowboy boots wearing gun slinger. This book fits in with the rest of the books. Better to read them in order.

I have enjoyed how the men in this series simply have an excellent friend who helps them with their mission for a wife.
Sammie and Mitches Story is very entertaining and not your ordinary run of the mill mail order bride story. I love her character and wonder how many more mail order brides were so much like Sammie. I loved how the plot unfolded, it kept me wondering what would become of these two.
Another great story by Linda Bridey!

I really enjoyed this Historical Western Romance. I voluntarily chose to review this and I've given it a 4.5* rating. For the most part, this was a fun story with a pants wearing female who was prepared to take care of herself. This addressed some important issues also that were woven into the story. And it left me with a good feeling at the end.

Different conflicts, different people, besides traumas created when growing up without parents.

Your stories very well written easy to read catch the attention from beginning to end. Mitch and Sammi have find a middle ground to overcome stubbornness insecurities when they realize that is stronger than everything.

I struggled with this one. I listened to the audio, and while the narrator is very good, the author uses said all the time! It really became distracting. Part of it was probably because I never became truly engaged since I didn't care for the heroine. I did enjoy the hero though. Happy reading/listening!

Another sweet story that has some spice. Sami and Mitch were a great match, just needed to get over Sami’s insistence on doing things herself. She had a jaded past and it made sense why she was the way she was. Mitch got it and he fell for the crazy woman who wore pants. I loved their banter and their courtship. It’s a great story.

The story is really clever. There were so many characters that it was a bit hard to keep them all straight. It might be good to read some of the earlier ones before this. Enjoyed the read!

Audiobook - Narration, J. Scott Bennett - he's a very enjoyable narrator. perfect for these historical romances.

Sheriff Mitch Taylor decides he needs a bride and his call is answered by Sammi Jameson. Sammi is the tomboy of all tomboys. An orphan who had some nasty business to deal with in her past learned to protect herself - to fight, shoot guns and throw knives. She wears pants and doesn't take crap from anybody. When she shows up in Dawson and is mistaken as a deputy, she steps in and handles a dicey situation, apprehends a criminal and saves Jake, the local bar owner. Of course Mitch is none too happy about her impersonating an officer and makes sure she knows it.

This is another enjoyable story in the Montana Mail Order brides series. These are fairly quick stories about the people of Dawson, Montana. Such an enjoyable group of characters and I especially like that they are all continuing characters in each subsequent book in the series.

This has a little bit of Scooby Doo danger with the Mayoral race and some parts with Owl that were a little draggy, but Owl gets the next book so we needed a little more introduction to him.

Overall an enjoyable listen and a fun little series!

This is another great book in the Montana Mail Order Brides series. I've now read the first six books in the series, but I don't think that is necessary to enjoy them as each book kind of stands alone. I like reading them in order because I can see how relationships between the characters (which are present in all the books) develops. I really liked the main character, Sammi. She is beautiful, strong, tall, and tough. I enjoyed seeing how things were addressed when she revealed her "past situation" (I don't want to give spoilers) to Mitch. And I enjoyed seeing their compromises in their marriage. I listened to the Audible audio version of this book, narrated by J. Scott Bennett. His narration is so spot-on with the characters and the mood of the book. I really enjoy everything he has narrated, and I honestly think his narration leads to better enjoyment of the books he narrates. This was such a great western romance, and I'm not even a big fan of romance, but I LOVE this series. Its pretty clean and has great characters and situations. You really can't go wrong if you read any of these books.

Another great addition to the series. Very entertaining and enjoyable as always.

While each book can be read as a stand alone, I would start at the beginning just for the enjoyment of each story as well as getting to know all the characters. It's one big extended family that you can't wait to come back and visit.

This time it's Sammi's turn to find her cowboy. I have been waiting for Sammi's story since she was first introduced into the series. She is such a great character. A strong, independent, no nonsense kind of woman. She meets her match in Sheriff Mitch Taylor.

J Scott Bennett does a great job once again with the narration. Wide range of character voices. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace. Nice voice, easy to listen to for long periods of time. He is able to pull you into the story and make the characters come to life. Always a pleasure to listen to a book he is narrating.

Loved the characters in this one. Mitch was the Sheriff. He places an ad in an out-of-town newspaper for a mail-order bride, wanting to be discreet about it. Jamie and Lacey, mail-order brides themselves, contact their friend Sammi and tell her to look for the ad. They aren't sure who posted it but think she should answer it. After all, they found the men of their dreams that way. But Sammi is different than other women. She wears trousers, carries a gun, is an expert with a knife and can best a lot of men in hand-to-hand fights. She ends up answering the Sheriff's ad and soon arrives in town to meet him. He's intrigued with her from the start. As the two of them court, trouble brews in the form of a crooked mayor and a gang of thieves. A lively romp with wonderful characters and a nice clean love story. The author did a great job of bringing in past characters to aid in the telling of her tale and also get you caught up on the townspeople.

I just love this series of Mail Order Brides. Each person in this series has a relationship either as family or as a friend to start with.
In this particular book we have the Mitch, the Deputy Sheriff who soon becomes the Sheriff falling in love with Sammi, a gun slinging and knife throwing young lady.
She is cute, she is sexy and she knows how to defend herself. He is a hunk, loving but a no nonsense type and they are both crazy for each other.
This story tells us about the ups and downs in their relationship that nearly tears them apart but you really need to read the book for yourself, or listen to it to find out exactly what goes on in their lives.
The narration by J. Scott Bennett of this beautifully written book by Linda Bridey is as usual of top class.

Sammi Jameson doesn’t put up with crap from anyone. She is headstrong and can take care of herself. When she comes to town to meet Mitch Taylor, something clicks with them immediately. Being the time period it is, Sammi doesn’t fit in well with other women, she wears pants and carries weapons. She is afraid she isn’t the type of woman Mitch needs. I think Linda Bridey created a wonderful story again. The Montana Mail Order Brides Series can be read as standalone novels, but I am glad I have read most of them in order (I still haven’t read the first one). I appreciate the wit and strong characters these stories provide. J. Scott Bennet is the perfect narrator for these books.

Mail Order Bride - Westward Justice: Montana Mail Order Brides, Book 6
: Linda Bridey

I love re-visiting Dawson, Montana and all the great characters that call it home. In this book Deputy Sheriff Mitch is in the market for a mail order bride. Sammi answers the advertisement and travels west. She is a strong woman who has gotten use to taking care of herself. Lots of unexpected twists keep the listener hanging on to the end.I look forward to the next book in this series.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. J.Scott Bennett delivers a lively performance as always.

The Montana Mail Order Brides books are enjoyable stories that are each complete without the feeling of being rushed through and entwine the characters into the other books within the series. As most romance books each couple has their ups and downs, inner battles, heartaches, happy times and end in a happy ending. It combines different cultures and the hardships and struggles that goes along with it. I found this to be a great mix in the story and was well done. Once I finish one book I quickly buy the next book as I want to see what will happen to another character. I recommend to read the book and series to anyone that likes romance.

Sammy is a no nonsense girl and I love it! She knows how to handle weapons and she's not afraid to use them. Try to manhandle her... Only if you want to be on the losing end of her wrath! How refreshing! No mealy mouth whiner here, and Mitch loves every prickly part of her!

I wasn't really fond of the narrator's style, it didn't stop me from listening, but I wavered on my rating, it almost took a four star story down to three, but time to reflect made it fall on the side of 4 stars in my opinion.

I am really enjoying the Montana Mail Order Bride series by Linda Bridey. It is extremely difficult to find a "clean" western mail order bride book that is not Christian. However, Ms Bridey does this with ease. Her stories are enjoyable and not predictable. She is on my must read list. I just love the character of Sammi
