This was a super cute book! I loved the slow burn romance between Charlotte and Luke. I was not expecting the identity twist but it made the story even more enjoyable and interesting to read.
If you are looking for a comfort beach read, this book is for you! Can’t wait for book 2 in the series so I can read more by Melissa!
I applied to read this book. It is worth reading if you enjoy summer romances, beaches, small town vibes and love at first sight. I love the fact that this story is about a writer who is telling the story. Charlotte is a writer who is on vacation looking for inspiration for her next book. Luke seems like a great helping hand when it comes to the resort . It was so romantic how he was with Charlotte the whole time, the way he looked at her, how he spoke with her and how helpful he was to any help she needed. I also enjoy the stories of the other characters like Cassie when talked about the type of genre romance she wrote. I laughed because I am thinking, that is usually what I read. She gave so much good advice to her about writing and about her feelings with love and of Luke. She is one of the reasons Charlotte came out of her shell. Luke seemed like a mystery for a bit, he was always appearing where Charlotte was at, helping everyone around the resort and solving every problem, he always wanted to listen to her thoughts and about her writing. He seemed like the kind of guy all women would want. I was a little mad about him lying to her about his true identity but then I understood his reasoning. He wanted to be loved for who was, not his status or his wealth. It was good that Charlotte understood later on and they finally submitted to their feelings for each other. Charlotte did the right thing by staying at Oceanside resort. She became successful with her writing and He became a great owner of the resort and raised it up to wonders. The epilogue of the story was awesome because usually every book I read, I always ask if there would be a sequel or an epilogue about their wedding. It was a wonderful chapter and I enjoyed it so much.

Pages In The Sand by Melissa Flaherty is the kind of debut that makes you stop and wonder how you've lived without these characters before now. Set against the breezy, romantic backdrop of Seaside Cove, this story wraps you in sunshine, secrets, and soul-stirring emotion from the very first page. Charlotte Everly is the perfect protagonist. She's relatable, resilient, and deeply human as she navigates loss, reinvention, and the terrifying hope of new beginnings. Her journey to the coast to pursue her writing dream felt so authentic, it was like catching up with an old friend. But it's her slow-burn connection with Luke, the handsome and mysterious resort manager, that had me flipping pages late into the night. Flaherty doesn’t just write romance, she writes transformation. The emotional depth of Luke's hidden past and the way it collides with Charlotte's own need for healing is beautifully done. And when the summer festival reveals secrets that could change everything? I gasped out loud. The writing is warm, vivid, and cinematic. You can practically hear the waves, taste the sea air, and feel the tension every time Charlotte and Luke lock eyes. It's the perfect balance of heartfelt, humorous, and hopeful. This is more than just a love story. Pages In The Sand is about second chances, self-discovery, and the courage to write your own ending. I can’t wait to see what book two in the Seasons Series brings!
This book immediately draws you in and holds you captivated by its beautiful setting and scenery. I absolutely loved getting to see the MMC popping up everywhere even before we officially knew he was the MMC. He wore so many hats! They are literally so good for each other! He loves her writing (even though its romance) and isn't cringed out at it at all. And he literally pulled her aside right before she had set her mind to leave, and he had built a whole entire writing studio for her! I mean come on! I was squealing inside with joy, that's literally one of the cutest things I've seen a guy do for his gal. Also their wedding was so gorgeous. And that best friend was a hoot! I can't wait to see if Melissa writes another book featuring her love story next...
Negatives This could be just a me thing: the phrase 'writer's mind' was repeated sooo often. I get really annoyed by repetition, so this was an annoying aspect for me. Also, from the beginning she is suspecting he isn't who he says he is, even guessing that he is the resort owner, so I do not understand how she is so shocked and betrayed to find out that he is the resort owner.
Pages in the Sand by Melissa Flaherty is the perfect sun-soaked romance for beach-read vibes! 🌊📖 Charlotte’s fresh start in the charming coastal town of Seaside Cove instantly drew me in — I loved the warm setting and the gentle build of her attraction to Luke, the resort receptionist. The chemistry between them is so good — awkward moments, slow-burn tension, and those breezy seaside days made their connection feel both sweet and compelling.
What really hooked me was how the story balanced light, romantic fun with real emotional depth. When Luke’s secret comes to light, the conflict feels meaningful and the way Charlotte navigates her feelings adds real heart to the romance. It’s the kind of story that makes you feel — smile, swoon, and genuinely root for these characters.
If you’re in the mood for a cozy, heartfelt romance with beachside charm and a satisfying slow-burn love story, Pages in the Sand is definitely one to add to your TBR! 🌞✨
