When the companions planned to rescue Lally and Derri from Orosturbe, they had no idea they’d arrive in the kaerling city as prisoners and slaves.
"The arena fight with the Champion was wonderfully written and quite shocking at times.” C Sendrowski
Tari finds herself alone in a mountain cell, while Rue is assigned to serve the Slave Medic. Unable to recall her memories, Otta is subjected to rigorous testing by the kaerlings.
Meanwhile, Lored, Erl, Ashlar and Stio discover the shocking reality of a brutal, savage arena life. Ill-equipped and ill-prepared, they must find a way to overcome the undefeated kaerling Champion, in order to survive.
Now the companions are present in the kaerling city, how will they find each other again, let alone rescue the two people they’ve travelled oceans and continents to reach? Find out, in Orosturbe!
If you enjoy novels by George R R Martin, D Wallace Peach and Tara Saunders, you will love this tale! Orosturbe can be read as an individual book as well as part of The Kaerling series.
contains scenes of slavery, torture, violent fighting, gore, death and overt racism that some readers might find upsetting.
After the tranquility of Nenyar’s Valley in Loredlon, this book is a savage onslaught on all the senses. I really like the irony that the companions have now reached their destination, but none of them are able to achieve their mission! The kaerlings close up are even more chilling than I thought. And the horrors of the Arena are really shocking. Nothing like modern day TV Gladiators! Brilliant ending and I can’t imagine what will happen next!
