Beaumont demands swift justice when powerful landowner Oliver Cromwell is murdered, and Thomas Miller looks undeniably guilty. But lawyer Albert Granger isn't convinced. Taking the case plunges him into a conspiracy fueled by railroad money, a contested inheritance, and ruthless ambition.
Facing a corrupt judge and violent threats, Albert must rely on his sharp mind and the unexpected arrival of his brother, Martin—a man who solves problems the law can't touch. Together, they'll risk everything to uncover the truth buried beneath layers of influence and deceit.
In a town where justice is for sale, can the Granger brothers expose the real killer before the gallows claim an innocent man... or before they become the next targets?
I like the way the people talk to each other. The character of the book is very much basic people who seem to be real. I would recommend this book to those who are looking for simple yet realistic stories. Nothing heavy but just a little more than average. A good old time Western.
I like the Granger books. This one about his brother is equally good. The story grabs your interest holds your attention. It a great telling of brothers working together. And protecting an innocent man.
