Koyuki, the Necromancing Foxkin: Book 1

Rate this book
Koyuki is a slave until an incident awakens her powers. With her death magic affinity she has the potential to become a powerful necromancer. In exchange for her freedom she has to attend the Royal Military Academy and serve in the army for 10 years. Follow her journey as she learns about magic, makes new friends and raises all kinds of undead creatures.

This story is a mixture of slice of life in an academy setting with some action sprinkled on top. While it is light-hearted it does feature graphic violence, cute undead, a few explosions and a rather powerful main character.

Undead cats

Very good story involving necromancy and some cute cats
I like the plot so far. It has a decent amount of risk and consequences. Tho it could be interesting if more consequences of their actions happened

fun read

Ok, I liked the book. The characters are fun. They are actually people I would like to meet. Also, the book is of a nice size. Much longer than many similar books. It gave me a chance to dig into instead of starting it and finishing a few hours later.
The book has both daily life and action scenes. Enough of each to keep it interesting. It also ends without a cliff hanger. I detest cliff hangers.
I will be buying the next volume. Please don’t be too long coming…

great progression book

I enjoyed the writing. Very readable with great characters. Good world building. Problems were solved a bit too cleanly, but it worked.

A weirdly wholesome take on necromancy

What do you do when people keep attacking you just because of what you are? You raise their corpses and turn them into new friends of course!

Good read

Interesting story. Moved along nicely. The plot is interesting but not overly competitive . Character development seems to move along nicely.

A fun and simple read.
The prose is plain, the dialogues are sometimes flat, but I enjoyed reading the story, both the slice-of-life parts and the training/combat. I plan to continue reading it!
