Navy SEAL Brett 'Cutter' Weaver is on a mission to Nicaragua when he learns his bride-to-be, Tess Kelly, has been injured in a car bombing. At Homeland Security’s demand, he’s rushed home on the next available transport and arrives to find Tess embroiled in three controversial stories. One may offer the key to her attacker.
On top of the emotional and physical upheaval of the bombing, Tess has been offered the journalistic opportunity of a lifetime at the Washington Post. If she accepts the job, she and Brett face living on opposite sides of the country. With their wedding two weeks away, she has temptations to face and tough decisions to make.
Serving as her security detail, Brett sees Tess’s remarkable investigative reporting skills in action, and acts as her sounding board and partner. He’s willing to sacrifice to ensure her happiness, but more, he wants to keep her safe. Because there’s a killer stalking her, and one interview at a time, they mean to catch him.

Brett and Tess, Part II.. Brett is now with a new SEALs team and deployed and hopes he will able to make it home in time for his wedding. Tess has been keeping herself busy with the wedding planning and 3 stories she has been investigating. One of them ends up putting her life in danger when her car is blown up.
The majority of the story takes place stateside with Brett stepping in to be Tess’s personal bodyguard and she continues her investigations along with trying to figure out who wants her dead. We get plenty of face time with Brett’s original SEAL team and their significant others but nothing new about Derrick.
I love this series and Teresa writes great military romance but part of me was a little disappointed we didn’t get one of the other guys story from the original SEAL team. Hopefully Bowie or Doc will be up next as I know we have to wait till the end to finally get Derrick’s story.
Fabulous and wonderful and awesome! Each time I read or reread a book in this series, I think it is the best of the series, but this time, I really think this one is it. I love the characters, the adventure, the romance, and the warmth and realism of the everyday interchanges in all of the books of the series.
Brett and Tess get a second novel of their own! Exciting news for fans of the series. The plot is exciting, frightening, and emotional but I am not going to go into details. I will mention that although the characters overlap, I think Ms Reasor does a great job bring the previous stories back to those who have read the earlier books without revealing enough to interfere if someone chooses to start with this one. I always recommend that a reader start from the beginning but if you start here, you you won't be able to resist going back, anyway.
4.0-4.5 stars. A very good romantic suspense story featuring Brett /Tess from bk 2 one more time. Worth the read. Really like this series, just wish the wait between bks wasn't so long.
I’m really enjoying this series. This book finishes the story of Brett and Tess whilst keeping us up to date with the other characters. Looking forward to reading the next book.
I bought this book the day it was released. Well I read about two pages and then put it down for a couple day. I know as soon as I fully got into it I wouldn't be able to stop and I really want to make it last. I finally sucked it up and really read. I was very right. I couldn't put this book down. Even though I didn't see my favorite SEAL "Flash". Lol The wedding was.....well breath taking. I love that this story just like the others that came before it. There is an up and down to the book. As soon as you think all the bad stuff is done and they are finally getting back on track something happens. I love that her writing always does that. Ok so getting to read about Brett and Tess again was great!! They relationship really goes through the ringer. They are tested and you watch as there connection gets stronger. I don't want to write any spoilers so I will keep quite. But I will say they had to work out a problem that sometimes people take the wrong rode when it comes up. Teresa reaches into our hearts once again and takes hold and makes us feel everything. All the ups and downs. She keeps you guessing who did it and I really didn't see what was coming. There is more I would love to say but then I would ruin the book for others. So I will leave you with this. Building Ties is the best title Teresa could have picked for this book because it really does sum up Brett and Tess's story.
I've always loved to read series, because of the chance to visit with the previous characters, but to get a whole new book with previous characters ~ that could go either way. But Teresa Reasor doesn't disappoint here either. Brett and Tess has been missing each other for the ten months during Brett's deployment. The wedding is coming but there's still the question if Brett will make it home before the big day. Tess has been working on many controversial cases for her job as journalist, and then one turns potentially deathly. The story is filled with mystery from the cases Tess is working on for the news paper. Some of them so dangerous, people start to die, attacks towards Tess are continues, and Brett does his best to protect Tess from all the harm and malice suddenly surrounding her. While investigating the cases, Brett and Tess gets to see each other in new light, examine their deepest feelings and commitment to each other. They learn valuable lessons about being open to each other with everything, honest about all things, and how to support each other in every way. The story gave deeper look into the SEAL team and family, to their everyday life, and to the struggles the soldiers as well as the families have, while being apart. Lovely, exiting, different kind of story, four spoons for this one!!
This is one of the funniest books I have read in the series. It continues on in the lives of Brett and Tess. Their wedding is getting closer, and her journalism career is going well. Brett is downrange, on a mission when he gets a call to return stateside right away. He goes home, expecting the worst, that one of those that he loves has been killed. Watch as Tess gets offered her dream job and see what happens when she goes to check it out. Watch as things happen around three stories that Tess is working on at one time for the new part of the paper that she is writing for. The funniest part happens at the bachelorette party when they go back to Zoe and Hawk's home. Even thinking about that part of the book has me giggling so hard the tears are threatening to fall. Brett's reaction to trying to sneak in to see what the women were checking out is so funny. I cried when Tess was attacked in her own home with Brett and Ian right there. That's all I am going to say. Be ready with some tissues for good and bad in this book. It is incredible!

This addition to Ms. Reasor SEAL Series is the best yet!
You will experience every emotion from page 1 to the heart tugging ending in this addition of Teresa's series of book based on the Navy SEAL team Heartbreakers. Brett and Teas go through just about every thing from Tess's car being blown up, to a corrupt construction companies building collapsing, a drunk driver who seriously injured a young girl and finally a drug overdose that could have been a disaster to their wedding. You will cry at certain points in the story and finally rejoice at the wedding of Brett and Tess. Teresa Reasor has a gift of writing and I can hardly wait to read both Bowie and Langley's stories. You won't regret buying this book as it is a fantastic one.
Tess and Brett continue the love in this great story. Again it was a page turner. I loved the feeling of the whole deal team being united again through it all. This series has made you fall in love over and over. You will laugh, cry get angry and feel their emotion through the pages and when you have to go back to reality it's like they take a piece of your soul. It's definitely a must read through the whole series.

Another amazing read by Teresa Reasor. I love this series and once I start reading one of these books I can’t stop! I was really excited and looking forward to Cutter and Tess’s book and Teresa didn’t disappoint! It was awesome! I highly recommend this series!
This is part four in the Seal Team Heartbreak series i'm glad to see the finish of Brett and Tess's story I love these books recommend that you read this.
Just started this one. Was advertised as Christian fiction, but just a few pages in she started to use profanity and the subject matter looked like it would be inappropriate.
