💬 Well, I'm kind of torn on this book. There were a lot of things that I enjoyed like the romance and the plot itself. But a lot of the kink and spice weren't my jam.
The plot itself was fabulous. I enjoyed the "marriage and trouble/ let's open the marriage to fix it" plot and the romance between Ian and Nicole was toe curling and swoony and wonderful. And I just love a growly silver fox soft Dom 🥵🫦
This is also the only kind of age gap that I really enjoy. Nicole is 39 and Ian is 51, and that I can definitely get behind. What I don't usually enjoy is when one of the MCs is barely legal and then the other has been an adult for 25+ years. No shade to anybody who likes that. It's just not my thing.
But what I realized is, I guess I just am not a fan of the spice that was in this book. Or maybe it was that it was so repetitive? The kink sort of fell flat for me in terms of interest and I think I've talked about this before, but I just don't really enjoy when a book is mainly focused on oral and fingering. Like it's great that she had all those Os but a guy who continues denying himself doesn't do it for me and I genuinely think if I was in a relationship where that happened in real life I would leave 😂
I really feel like I should point out that the lack of PIV is actually pertinent to a plot, though, like it makes sense within the context of Andrews' story, so it's very much a "it's not you it's me" thing.
So like I said, I feel kind of neutral about this book. BUT I think the quality is there and the plot line was really good so. I think that most readers would enjoy this and I do recommend it
