I love logic puzzles and this book was filled with traditional logic puzzles along with other deduction type puzzles. I enjoyed most of them, although the map puzzles weren't my favorite.

What made this puzzle book really fun is that there is a cozy mystery being told and the puzzles fit the story. The premise is a group of puzzle-loving friends work together to solve a mystery. The puzzles in the book move the story along, giving clues about who the killer in the story was. The final two puzzles definitively identify the weapon, and the killer and prior puzzles give the motive. I had several days of fun reading this story and solving the puzzles. There is a second book in the series coming out that I want to get!

This was SUPER fun. The exposition was clunky, but it's interspersed with a bunch of fun logic puzzles and riddles to solve. By reading the text you solve the puzzles, and by solving the puzzles you figure out whodunit. I'll definitely be buying more of these types of books -- it was some nice, non-phone escapism. Kept my brain very busy.

Something different and a bit of fun! I enjoyed the puzzles, some became repetitive.

Picked this up from the works as part of an offer and my GOODNESS it is the best decision I have ever made. I loved every single page, however the only thing I’d say is the repetition of some of the puzzles at the start does get frustrating but overall 10/10.

I love puzzles and was so excited for this book! Unfortunately though, the puzzle types were repetitive and the story is for young adults (maybe that's the intention, but I didn't know that to begin with). Sometimes the context of the puzzles was irrelevant to the entire story and there could have been more variety to keep me interested for the entire book. Towards the end I just wanted to finish the puzzles so I could move on to my next read.

Należałeś/aś kiedyś do klubu?

„Morderstwo w wiosce. Klub Zagadek Kryminalnych. Księga łamigłówek” polecam każdemu, kto nie raz czytając książki kryminalne bądź oglądając seriale detektywistyczne, chciał stać się bohaterem jednej z nich (oczywiście po stronie stróżów prawa bądź detektywów),a także wszystkim fanom zagadek logicznych! 🔍

„Klub zagadek” to wspaniała i angażująca rozrywka.

Rosa Martinez, młoda dziennikarka szukająca wytchnienia zamieszkuje w urokliwej wiosce Wobberley Edge. Tam poznaje grupkę przyjaciół jej cioci Marthy, którzy mają swój Klub Zagadek. Na spotkaniach wspólnie rozwiązują łamigłówki. Pewnego dnia dochodzi do morderstwa, a oni stają przed prawdziwym wyzwaniem - muszą odkryć tajemnicę zbrodni! 🕵️‍♀️

Mamy powieść składającą się z dziesięciu rozdziałów i aż siedemdziesięciu zagadek. By poznać dalsze losy bohaterów, jak i posunąć śledztwo do przodu, trzeba najpierw rozwiązać łamigłówkę. Czasami nawet trzeba cofnąć się do poprzednich zagadek by rozwiązać kolejną. Zagadki zmuszają czytelnika do logicznego myślenia i dedukcji. Analizujemy wskazówki, poszukujemy tropów, eliminujemy podejrzanych i łączymy dowody 🔍, by rozwikłać zagadkę morderstwa.

My husband and I love to buddy read these. We take these everywhere, and when we have to wait or just relax in front of the lake, we do 3 or 4 of these. It has a story, and each puzzle advances the plot. There are different puzzle styles, and then they loop but add a wrinkle to it to make them interesting or harder. My husband is better in one type of puzzle. I am best with others, and we make a great team but can be enjoyed at a single reader (we just try to find activities we enjoy together). We loved following Rosa in her trip to visit Martha and solve a murder mystery. Puzzles can be challenging but fun to force the brain to think.

I do love a good puzzle book and having one combined with a murder mystery was quite entertaining, although I did find that the story aspect was secondary to the puzzles (guessing space is a bit of an issue with trying to get a good balance of both). I did enjoy the puzzles and even though the style of them was a little repetitive (you can say the same for most puzzle books in fairness), they increased in difficulty a little and remained challenging enough. With very much a cozy mystery kind of feel, this is an idea book for passing a couple of quiet evenings with a cup of tea or adult beverage.

Elementary, Dear Watso– nope. Wait...okay yes, I got it. Elementary, yes.

This was really fun! Alot of these puzzle books get a bit samey and boring, but this had a great variety of puzzles by design, and also difficulty. Some would have me stuck for a few days, others I smashed out (easy game for babies). Really well designed. The story surrounding it is by no means very good or serious, but its just enough to frame the puzzles in a way that's really very fun. I could definitely go for more of these, and in other genres. Give me a Hardboiled Noir detective one please.

This puzzle book was really well put together and was so much fun! The plot definitely had it's predictable parts, but I really loved how all the tiny details wove together in the end; the foreshadowing was great. I also really liked how they didn't immediately spoil what happened in the previous puzzle, it really makes it more interesting. The puzzles do get more difficult throughout the book, but that's nice because once you get into the rhythm of it, you really get into it.

This was a lot of fun. The puzzles got harder as the book progressed but nothing was too difficult to handle. I loved that there was a story to tie the puzzles together. Overall, it was fun to intersperse my reading with some puzzles. I did do all of my solving within the book so I won't be able to redo it or pay it forward, but it was necessary as some of the mazes and logic puzzles need to use the provided grid.

This was so much fun! The puzzles were challenging but not so challenging you couldn’t figure it out.

Highly recommend doing with a Buddy. The mystery added to the puzzles and centered around the suspects and it was a nice bonus at the end to figure out everything.

They did an excellent job of not doing any spoilers in case you accidentally flipped to the wrong puzzle.

Meh. The story aspect is basic and not worth bothering with.
The puzzles are very repetitive, maybe 5 or 6 different puzzle types. So if you don't like a particular puzzle then you're going to waste a big chunk.of the book. Personally I didn't really like the maps. And I very quickly get bored with spot the difference.

Història: 0/10. Terrible, gens interessant.
Ho recomanaria a algú? No.

Molt bona idea però no gaire ben executada.

A fine puzzle book. The story was interesting and kept me going on the puzzles, but fizzled out at the end. I felt less like I had solved a mystery and moreso had reached the end of a trail that ended up being a circle.

This was so much fun! You go through the book and solve different types of logic puzzles to help the gang solve the murder. It’s a fun concept, and the puzzles got increasingly harder which was fun! I would definitely do another of these.

This murder mystery puzzle book started off promisingly. I enjoyed the murder mystery element which was quite well done but the puzzles got a bit samey even though they did increase in difficulty as the book went on. More variety would have made this book much more enjoyable.

I love most books by Laura Jayne Ayres and Dr Gareth Moore, but this series is not doing it for me. The puzzles are too repetitive for my attention span, sadly. The story is nice, as always, but they lost me with the puzzles.

A very fun book!
The story itself is direct and not confusing, very easy to read. Maybe good for me who is trying to read book again. The puzzles are hard and easy. I think it will be fun to do the puzzles with children.
Good for people who want some challenge.

4/5 stars. Really just 3 but it can have one extra as it was a present from my Mum. The idea is nice but the puzzles are repetitive, with virtually the same four puzzles used over and over again.
