Wow! Was this a spicy read and unlike any I've read before. I really resonated with Eve because [ felt all the emotions that Eve was feeling. I really wish there was a Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club because that sounds amazing! I have yet to get married but I've been engaged a few times and a few ended up in a breakup and one even ended in my fiancé passing away. I can't wait for the next book by Tawna Fenske!

This book is definitely giving “here for a good time” vibes—and Tawanna Feske sets the tone from the very beginning, so you know exactly what kind of story you’re diving into.

We follow Eve and Kit, who are both dealing with the aftermath of some pretty toxic relationships. Eve was supposed to be getting married, but after getting cheated on, she decides to take herself on what would’ve been her honeymoon—to a resort designed just for jilted brides (yes, really). She’s all about putting her own pleasure first for once. Enter Kit: a world-famous psychologist, Eve’s best friend’s older brother (because of course), and the resort’s newest staff member.

Now, let’s be clear—this book brings the heat. It’s heavy on the spice, but it’s not just about the steam. There’s a sweet, meaningful layer underneath about healing, figuring out who you are, and learning to love yourself after being hurt.

It’s short, fun, and super steamy—basically the perfect book when you want something quick, sexy, and with just enough depth to give it heart. Definitely a must add to TBR!

This was my first read by Tawna Fenske and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed my experience. The Upgrade is a brother’s best friend, jilted bride, erotic romance with MF, MFF, and MFM spice.

Eve is a jilted bride and is invited to an exclusive jilted brides resort to help her find herself and experience bliss like she never has before. When her best friend’s older brother whom she just recently had a one night stand with ends up working at the same resort she has reservations for, things start getting a little sticky (pun intended).

The concept of this story was so unique and the tropes hooked me from the start. The communication between our MC’s (and tbh the side characters too) made the relationships so much more fun and seeing them grow that much more interesting. There was banter, hot and steamy scenes, self reflection and discovery, and plenty of romance. I loved the vulnerability just as much as the sass and comedic value and even though it was a quick read, I felt very satisfied with the relationship and where Eve and Kit leave off.

The Upgrade was such a fun, spicy, and empowering read that I absolutely devoured it in just 4 hours! From the very first chapter, I was hooked on Eve’s story—her mix of heartbreak, and strength made her such a relatable and lovable main character. And don’t even get me started on Kit... whew 😮‍💨 Best friend’s older brother AND fake dating? Yes, please!

I adored the concept of the Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club—it was fresh, bold, and the perfect backdrop for self-discovery and steamy romance. The chemistry between Eve and Kit was sizzling, but what really stood out was how their relationship evolved beyond the heat. There were moments of genuine vulnerability, laughter, and emotional depth that gave this book heart.

The spice level? 🔥🔥🔥 Be prepared—this one doesn't hold back (and I mean that in the best way possible). It was steamy and sex-positive, which I really appreciated.

Before her trip though she decides to help her friend’s brother, Kit, get back at his ex by being his date to an event and also maybe getting her mojo back. They thought it would be just one time but when they both end up at the same resort maybe they can continue what they felt before. This gets pretty ahem “adventurous in the bedr00m” pretty fast. A quick and st€amy romance. It reminded me at times a little of the movie Exit to Eden from the 90’s. What happens at the Crystal Bliss Resort might not stay there! The story completely gripped me and the concept is such a great one that I was hooked before I even started reading, but then throw in the banter and chemistry with Eve and Kit and I was obsessed!

I LOVED the way Eve was exploring this new side of her and all her wants and I was 100% here for it!

I loved the romance in this and that it wasn’t just about the spice. Even though this book isn’t super long, they really got to know each other outside of it all and I liked that!

I'm getting really tired of not falling into books. You know when you were a kid and they made it seem like something like Jumanji could happen to you? If it ever happens to be send me to The Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club. What is the JBHC? A place to go where EVERYTHING sexual is on the menu. DVP, happy ending massages, MMF and FFM threesomes, you name it. I'll figure out a role for myself. In this book the FMC, Eve, is the jilted bride, going to let loose after her wedding didn't happen.

This book was spicy, obviously, but also so fun. Kit, the MMC is a research psychologist and seeing him have to go from objectively researching things to actually being in the moment and meeting his person and realizing what his needs are and how he needs to change and then going after it was fun. Since it is a sex resort, there was an unconventional way of going about it, with sex included of course, but it for lack of a way to explain, unconventional. It was the big declaration of love then theyre happily ever after but here, they're still playing with others and having fun which I loved. Eve knew what she wanted and what she didn't want it felt like from the start and she just let herself experience everything. She did have some hang ups from the last relationship but being with a psychologist has its perks. Her friends were also helpful, and very sex positive. Her friend literally arranges a one night stand between Eve and Kit, like best friend ever.

The premise behind the new Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club series is so much fun--that there is an island resort out there that allows women whose weddings never happen to transform their honeymoon package into a solo just for her experience. It's just for her--but she only has to be alone in it if she wants to...because she has options.

So. Many. Options.

Eve, our first jilted bride, decides to take her time at the club reawakening the desires that her strict upbringing and uptight former fiance had tried to stifle. Her plans are thrown for a loop, however, when the one night stand she hasn't been able to stop thinking about (who is also her BFF's older brother) ends up at the resort too. And the more time they spend together, the more time she wants to spend with him. An unwanted complication, since Eve had already decided that "normal" relationships were not going to be a part of her future going forward, and Kit very much craves stability and permanence.

Can they find a future together?

Spoiler alert: of course they can! Eventually ;) But first they have quite a few issues to work through (individually and together) and a whole lot of Eve's desires to satisfy.

And oh boy, do they satisfy her desires...

It's clear that Ms Fenske (and perhaps some trusted friends) had a heck of a lot of fun coming up with the names for and details of the enhancements and options available at the resort--and that makes reading it an absolute freaking delight. Can't wait until book 2!

Oooooh man this was SPICY and absolutely mouthwatering delicious!!! I could not put it down and devoured it.

Eve found her fiancé having sex with her cousin on a sex swing in his office. So she’s in need of some self discovering and exploring. When she goes to cancel her honeymoon, she is offered an escape to a sex resort. So she decides why not?! She was always shamed when she was younger about her sexual appetite and curiosity, she wasn’t “normal”. So now is the perfect time for her to explore everything she has ever wanted to without any judgement.

Kit is recently single as his long term gf said no to his marriage proposal. He doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her. He is going to a sex resort to do research for the owner, but decided to be hands on with it to get the best results.

Eve is always worried about the satisfaction and needs of everyone else, it’s time someone worries about hers.

Kit and Eve know of each other because she is best friends with his sister Camille but they have never really spent time together. Camille suggests she be his fake date to an event since his ex will be there. They have an amazing and very spicy night, but then the two go apart thinking they won’t see aches other again, unless because of her connection with his family. Wellll, when they both end up at the same resort and he is her first consort of the week, things heat up again very quickly. They have a very sexual spark, but also a deeper connection the two can’t deny. She finds herself requesting him multiple times. He knows her body and just what she needs.

This book is sooooo spicy! MMF and FMF action is all explored. Whew, be prepared for the splash zone 🤭

When Eve catches her fiancé in a sex swing with her cousin, she's devastated. When she calls to cancel the honeymoon at an exotic island, she's given the option to "upgrade" for a stay at the Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club.

Before she leaves, her best friend encourages her to have a one time hook up with her hot older brother, Kit. They definitely hit it off and Eve doesn't realize Kit will be working at the Crystal Bliss Resort, interviewing and even working as one of the consorts (sex worker).

Told in a dual POV "The Upgrade" has plenty of scorching hot sex, including MFM, FFM, and other fantasy level heat, all set in a luxury resort made for indulgence.

This isn’t normally my kind of romance so I was surprised that there was some real character development. The chemistry between Eve and Kit is off the charts, and their banter adds just the right amount of humor to their relationship.

"The Upgrade" has a great mix of hilariously named menu items, like the Randy Ravioli Rubdown or Canneloni Cunnilingus Surprise. Or maybe you would prefer a nice tropical drink like the Honeydew Me Hard.

"The Upgrade" is quick, spicy, and totally entertaining. If you love fake dating, forbidden romance, and high-heat stories and are okay with extreme erotica, give it a look.

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA.
Hotter and steamier than most of this author’s books, prepare to read this with a fan nearby and ice water at the ready. Along the lines of her Sugar and Spice series, this is more erotic romance than her typical rom-com. It contains many s-mexy scenes including interactions with MFM, FFM, and DVP. That said, I can’t go so far as calling it erotica because it does still have a very sweet romance built in. Kit and Eve start out as a fake date that ends with a one-night stand. When they meet again under unusual circumstances, there is no denying that they have connected on a much deeper level.
What I love is how the author helps each character grow and overcome past hurts while finding love and respect at this unusual resort. They each have significant baggage to address. Eve is recovering from s3x shaming as a teenager and from being cheated on by her fiancé. Kit is dealing with his own broken relationship, feelings of inadequacy, and rejection. I love that their past hurts are addressed in a positive and healing manner. I adore that this whole story is s3x positive. I loved that the idea of “normal” marriage and committed relationships is questioned and that the characters are able to find their normal based on what makes them happy together. I am so excited about the premise of this series. I can’t wait for the next books.

A resort that helps jilted brides explore their wildest fantasies? Welcome to Crystal Bliss, where the enchantments come with names like Randy Ravioli Rub Down—I choked on my water laughing at that one. 🤣🤣

So, our girl Eve catches her fiancé cheating… with her cousin! AND Naturally, she books a revenge trip to Crystal Bliss. But first, her best friend sets her up with her own brother for an angry bang and the result is a super spicy one-night stand with all the fast burn goodness. Of course, in true romcom chaos, they both end up at the same naughty resort! But wait—now the bestie suddenly says her brother is off-limits? Girl. You set this up! 🥴🥴

We’ve got dual POV and a setup that’s equal parts funny and SO filthy it had me clutching my non-existent pearls. The resort has consorts to help act out your fantasies, with ethical non-monogamy as the theme, which isn’t my thing. I struggled a bit with the romance side—it just didn’t hit me in the feels as much as I wanted. Am I just a little too toxic for that open-heart, open-bed lifestyle? 😅

Still, this was a fun, filthy, laugh-out-loud kind of read, that I openly blabbed about to my other book friends. Even if the romance didn’t totally land for me, and I was bummed that the Randy Ravioli Rub Down didn't come into play- the whole premise of this book was definitely interesting. If you're in the mood for something bold and unapologetically spicy, The Upgrade might be for you.

This book starts with Eve being cheated on by her boyfriend, she decides to kill two birds with one stone by getting a taste of revenge on her ex by going out with her best friends brother, so he in turn can attend his exes party with a beautiful date. They have one night of passion before Eve goes to a luxury sex resort to fulfil all her fantasies and explore her pleasure. Enter Kit, her brothers best friend, who happens to also be working there doing research.

Eve is a sex positive, extremely forward FMC. I did get a rushed feel when I started reading this to begin with, it is a relatively short book but I feel it would have benefited from a longer intro to set the character backgrounds better and build the readers connection to the characters before bounding into the plot. There wasn't really that slow build tension I enjoyed in books surrounding the first meet.
The plot did slow down and focused on the character profiles as you went through the book but I do feel the book would have benefited from a bit more of a slow build or added tension which I didn't really get and the reader connection to the couple just didn't hit for me.
That being said, the spice was done really well. The characters were likeable, and it was a nice, easy read, I just felt it didn't build the connection very well.

After catching her fiancé with her cousin, Eve calls off the wedding. She has a one night fling with her best friend's brother Kit before heading to a resort for jilted brides. But Kit's at the resort as well.

This book is super steamy. I'm using the euphemisms from the book because they help to show how the book brings in fun and humor with the spice. According to the resort's hilarious jargon, it is a place women can live out their fantasies, as consorts provide enchantments. And the guests can choose their enchantments from a menu, including choosing multiple consorts at one time.

I appreciate the clear delineation between ethical non-monogamy and the unethical version called cheating. This book celebrates all forms of intimacy and provides examples of polyamorous relationships.

I really enjoyed Eve and Kit together. While the focus is clearly on the physical, I was impressed by the depth of both characters and how well matched they were. They both show strong character growth, and the epilogue is great fun. The teaser for the next book at the end got me quite intrigued to read the rest of this series and a connected series whose characters made cameos.

If you love your books super steamy (seriously, like super super spicy 🌶️) this is the book for you!! The Crystal Bliss Resort was hosting the jilted bride’s honeymoon club: a luxury, fantasy retreat where women’s pleasure comes first. I was expecting a lot of spice (and yes that happens) but I also really loved the plot too!! This book is also funny and heart felt and the characters were so easy to root for.

I really loved Eve and Kit together. Yes their first interactions are purely about the physical (and the little fake dating thrown in too!) and there is no question they have amazing physical chemistry, but they also shared a deeper connection…but it was only supposed to be one night…until Kit shows up the resort Eve is at!

Both Eve and Kit have some issues to work through - from past shaming and grief and guilt. I really liked how they work through their issues.

*I also really liked how the author makes a point to show that this story has ENM - Ethical Non-Monogamy - there is no cheating and everything is funny above board and full of consent!

I will definitely be reading the next book in this series!

Eve is super relatable trying to rediscover herself and Kit, ugh total swoon. The fake date setup was classic but the chemistry between them felt fresh and electric. I loved the idea of the Honeymoon Club, it adds a unique twist and gives Eve the space to grow and explore her desires unapologetically. The banter is sharp, the characters are lovable and the sexual moments?? 🔥🔥🔥

This book is ideal if you’re in the mood for a lighthearted romance with depth and a few laugh-out-loud moments. Definitely recommended for fans of steamy rom-coms with heart. I’ll be grabbing the next book in the series for sure.

If you already enjoy books by Tawna Fenske but are not afraid to explore something a little more erotic, this book is for you. If you are a first time reader and enjoy that type of read I think you’d love this. There is a ton of hotness in this book, but it isn’t just a bunch of smutty scenes roughly stitched together either. I absolutely love the premise of this book, a chance for jilted ladies to be able to escape and freely indulge, sexually and otherwise? Well, that sounds like a pretty awesome option to me! As with Tawna’s other books, this one has a ton of great characters, an actual story line, and the steamy scenes… oh my goodness!! While the content goes beyond what is in most of her romance books, make no mistake this one definitely is erotica, but is very well written too. I’ve read others that bore me because the overall content and story are not worthwhile and that is not at all the case with this book. I can’t wait to read more stories about the Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club very soon!

PS – Is there going to be another island for the recently divorced ladies too?

This book was a holy hotness read!

Eve is seeking revenge from her cheating ex. What she is more furious about is that she realises that she wasted so many years in a relationship that wasn't fulfilled and that she lost herself and the curiosity to explore her fantasies so she is determined to erased all her wrongs and embark in a new journey that lands her in the Jilted Brides Honeymoon Club an exclusive sex resort where all the wildest desires are fulfilled. To Eve's surprise she finds Kit there, who happens to be her best friend's older brother and her recently one night stand.

Kit is a psychologist doing an undercover research in Crystal Bliss as an escort. He is also dealing with a bad break up and trying to move on from the hurt. To his surprise his first client is no other than the woman who he had one night stand and he can't stop thinking about.

Eve is in a self discover era and Kit is there to make every single sensual dream of hers come true. Kit makes sure Eve is treat like a queen. Soon Kit and Eve realise there is something more there but some of their insecurities come to play. I love how both have to decide what is important to them.

I really enjoyed to concept of this book and I'm looking forward for what's to come for this series.

Sometimes I'm in the mood for something extra spicy, so I was happy to get my hands on this book!

It is definitely focussing more on the sexy times than your typical romance, without losing sight of the plot. If anything, the spice just adds some extra flavour!

Eve has recently cancelled her wedding after finding her fiancé cheating. She's not even that heartbroken over it, but it stings nonetheless. In an attempt to pull her out of her rut, her best friend suggests two things: a fling with her older brother, and re-booking her would-be honeymoon to a sex resort in the Caribbean.

Little does either of them know, Kit (said fling/brother) has taken on a very hands-on research project at the same resort!

While indulging in all the amenities the resort has to offer, Eve finds herself becoming more and more intrigued with Kit. But can it work outside the relative privacy of the resort?

I loved how sex positive this book is; nothing is taboo, as long as it's consensual and doesn't harm anyone. There are also some very interesting side characters, which I hope will be explored in the other books in this series.

Christopher/Kit/Topher is the older brother of six sister….those sisters being Eves BFFs, sisters from another mister & more like family than her actual family….Kit had already moved off to college so it wasn’t so weird when they go on a fake date that turns into a one night stand

Eve is looking for an escape from a bad breakup….to lose all of her inhibitions & explore parts of her past
Kit is looking for an escape from life in the form of a new job
Who would of thought that these two would come face to face ish in their escape & it only escalates from there

This was a fun read….if you are looking for a realistic story all I can say is I WISH!!! For anyone that has been through an awful breakup 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’d love a trip to the island

I can’t wait to see where the next book goes…yes the ending already cued us up for the next couple & I can’t wait

I first heard about Tawna Fenske in August of 2015 when her book "About That Fling" was featured as a "Kindle First." I have fallen in love with the fun way that she tells a story. Her characters are fun, and even ones you may not like at first tend to grow on you. Since then, I have read anything that I have found by Tawna.

It was nice getting to know completely new characters. This book is considered “erotic romance” but I see know reason that her fans (and even others) wouldn’t enjoy this book. As I read the “Sugar & Spice” series, I knew what to expect.

This is a slight spoiler, but as a reader of all things “Tawna Fenske,” it was nice knowing that the characters in the book have connections to both the “Sugar & Spice” series, and also the “Cherry Blossom Lake” series.

All in all, I absolutely enjoyed this book. I also really liked the concept. It makes me wonder if such a resort exists in real life (LOL). I am extremely excited to read the next two books in the series!

This was the perfect scorching hot palate cleanser from all the romantasy I’ve been reading. It was a fast-paced quick read that focused on sex positivity. The Upgrade highlighted how to get your groove back after you’ve been jilted with a plethora of dirty talk, praise k!nk, and a woman who knows what she wants and likes.I loved how freeing Eve felt once she decided to get her life back after a horrible relationship. The sizzling tension between Eve and Kit (the man of many names) was so fun to read. I loved how supportive her friends were. I have a degree in psychology and teach intro to psych so I loved the psych talk and all of the nerdy research talk. As a mother, it was eye opening on how having open communication with my daughter is extremely important. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to continue the series!
