Theresa Hodge is an Alabama native - loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She is at her best when she is able to bring happiness to others. This author loves to read almost as much as she loves to write fictional stories. She finds writing therapeutic at times, especially during the loss of her oldest sister from breast cancer, which birthed her "Ask Me Again" Series. This was her first but this compilation led to her writing several other books. These book's includes her bestselling Noelle's Rock series among many others.
Additionally, Theresa has a love affair with poetry. She began writing poetry at an early age and it served as a catalyst for her growth as a writer.
If Theresa can bring a smile to your face and encourage someone else along her journey, she considers it a blessing beyond measure.
When I read an adult romance, I like to feel as in love and as flustered as the characters. Upon starting this book, I already knew the direction that it was heading. I kept going anyway, because I just knew that there was more to it than meets the eye. I was so wrong! This book is filled with inconsistencies and it’s repetitive as heck. A quick read, which I was grateful for.
Alyssa is still living with the ruin of her college relationship with Drake. On the night of his graduation from college, she finds him in bed with her nemesis, Autumn. Twelve years later she is back in her hometown to attend the funeral of her best friend. Of course, she runs into Drake at the funeral and again back at her friend’s house. The next thing she knows, she and Drake are having a drink and are sleeping together, all within the span of mere hours. Drake is not one to leave her alone and wants her back at all cost. Once back in New York, she tries to put Drake in the back of her mind and go on with her life, with her boyfriend David by her side. All of a sudden, it’s like her past is repeating itself, when she catches David screwing a former co-worker. It all goes kaboom after that.
Firstly, this book needs an editor. I can’t count how many times I read the word ‘mines’. Mine is as possessive as they come, since when is there an ‘s’ needed at the end? Unless you are referring to mines as in ‘gold mines’, there shouldn’t be an ‘s’. Secondly, there were too many mentions of putting on her favorite perfume ‘Happy’. I rolled my eyes so many times throughout this book, that I got a migraine. The inconsistencies were in abundance. For example, at the beginning of this book Alyssa is having a conversation with Weston about wanting to start a family and I quote, “I’m 34!!”. But back in New York, after she catches David cheating, she refers to herself as being 32. Was she saying that she was 32 when she started dating him, or was she speaking present tense? The way it’s written is the latter. And the race card was thrown out there too much. I get being descriptive, but when you go on a rant about your man cheating with the half white bitch, that’s too much. Drake is of mixed race but there wasn’t any name calling when she caught him cheating.
This book is too weak for me. All that went down was so cut and dry, and it lacked emotion from beginning to end. Even the sex scenes were trite. That’s where I wanted these characters to connect. I didn’t expect all the cheating that went down. How do you go from one cheating man, to another, and back to the beginning? Just, No!! The only redeeming qualities that these characters have is the fact that they all need help. This could have been a great book, but the lack of detail and emotion made it weak. I was rooting for Alyssa at the beginning, but she contradicted herself from chapter 2 on. She, of all people, knows what it feels like to be cheated on. Why she slept with Drake is beyond me. The author clearly needed some drama to build this story up but it only fell flat for me. This is one of those books that is not for me. I’ve read cheating romances before and this one comes nowhere close to being as great. I will not be reading the rest in the series, and I cannot recommend.

Ask Me Again is a spectacular novel that tells the story of how two young lovers fall deeply for each other only to lose each other so soon by someone who wants them apart. The main character leaves her hometown after having her heart broken by her first love while in college and her father's death. She leaves for New York where she begins a new life as a teacher and is in a new relationship with a banker. She thinks her life is all in order until she gets word that her best friend has died from best cancer and the funeral will be soon. She flie son back to her hometown to support her best friend's husband and his two amazing girls. While at the funeral she runs into her former love. Sparks fly immediately between the two. Despite his betrayal from when they were in college, her feelings for him are still running deep within her veins. Can she ignore him and go on with her life or will he make every attempt to steal her back into his life? And what about her relationship with the banker? I highly recommend readers to read this contemporary romance novel. It was a novel that I couldn't put down until I finished reading it through. I look forward to reading her second novel in this intoxicating and addictive series! Overall, I rate this novel a five out of five stars.
This contemporary African-American romance will take you on a whirlwind of emotions and surprises. The brisk narrative will keep you on your toes and the cliff-hanger end will make you want to read the next one. While the editing needed some work, the story was engaging and the characters were sympathetic. This is a second-chance romance that made me want to throw it at the wall for the ending. But if you like fast-pace second chance romance, this one is a must-read!
Alyssa and Drake were college sweethearts. Drake had a night of sex with Autumn, Alyssa catches them, she breaks up with him. She graduates, moves to New York and starts a new life. Her new life is being a teacher and dating David. A mutual friend of both Drake and Alyssa passes away from breast cancer, and that causes Alyssa to go back home to Auburn to attend the funeral. While there she runs into Drake who lets it be known that he never stop loving her and he still loves her. They go back to her hotel for a drink in the bar, but she so tired she invites him to her room. They talking and then they sexing. She returns back to New York, to David and her life. Drake a man that can't leave well enough alone sends her 3 dozen roses which causes problems for Alyssa and David because he knows about her past with Drake. She tries to make it right and goes to have lunch with David at his job, but catches him like she catches him like she caught Drake twelve years ago. They break up, she moves back to Auburn, her & Drake get back together, and she pregnant. David and her always used condoms, Drake and her do not...who is the daddy?
Ex-football star, Drake Peterson, has finally crossed paths with the love of his life. This time, he is determined, by all means necessary, to keep her in his arms. A mistake that he made in the past hovers over their relationship, until he has sign, sealed, and delivered on his promise to make the best out of his second chance.
Theresa Hodge did a great job at weaving the characters and storyline in Ask Me Again. I would definitely recommend to all romance lovers.
what!!!! is it seriously going to end that way. I'm way upset. I can't handle this foolishness. the story was decent, but there was some parts that were just too much get to the point. I don't know if I like Alissa as the heroine, there is no real depth to her, and she is a hypocrite. I just don't know how I really felt about the book, I think the beginning started off strong, but that middle was stupid and the ending was whoa. 3.5-4 Stars

"As Me Again" by Theresa Hodge
My Thoughts....
From a mistake that Drake Peterson had made many years however he is now determined to get back the love of his life...Alyssa but will it be enough? What a twist...especially with Alyssa seeming to have love for two men. Who will she choose? This author really gives the reader a read that will keep you on the edge of your seat turning the pages till the end. And that ending was the bomb...wow! This is definitely a good read with two more books to go in this series...to get the ending of the story.
Only Theresa Hodge could give a couple that has struggled after a heartbreak to get back on track even more hell, in the form of green eyes. Shouldn't be possible but she pulled it off in Ask Me Again part 1. If I hollered after reading The End and had to pray about getting violent with my kindle, what is going to happen after I read book 2? All I know is poor Lyssa and Drake. The pain he caused her twelve years ago has found him, and unless he can overlook those green eyes, it's going to be divorced Lyssa and Drake. Theresa, how fast can you drop book 2 for my sake? I seem to be running into great books tonight. Yay me!!!
The lead female in this book has so many emotions about two different men. One is what I call a natural, first love and the other is a learned, I'm grateful that you came into my life and help push the first love back into the recess of my mind. Hmm let's see how book two unfolds.
I admit, Theresa got me with the ending. Just when I thought the story could go one way, the pace of the story allowed me to change my mind and then I was still surprised at the end. Excited for part 2.
I love stories like this because the author tells you everything you want to know before hand. It just makes the story better to see if your accurate. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!! Read it for yourself. I don't want to give nothing away. It's worth it and its a quick story.
I couldn't put it down. This review is taking too long to write. Book 2 is waiting. I have to read them all in one sitting. Theresa has serious talent.
This was one heck of a story. And the ending just blew me out of the water. Yes he asked again, and she accepted. But things did not turn out ad they planned. Wow!
Alyssa and Drake are going to have their hands full trying to deal with David being the father of Alyssa's baby. I wonder where love is going to take them now.
